Had a lovely time here. Some great staff, and some nice cocktails. The other patrons were also friendly so it was a good vibe.

The food was delicious, especially the steak with the gorgeous sauces it came with. 😋 I came here on a Sunday afternoon with family & friends, would definitely recommend 👌🏾

Fab Saturday afternoon experience. Great live music and loved the table service controller. Innovative and very efficient. Staff worked incredibly hard. They never stopped 👏👏👏

The staff were brilliant, service superb but there is absolutely no need to have live music played so loud that you can't have a conversation. We had a table booked for 6.45 and it was great until the guitarist started and we couldn't speak to each other. We left and went to a (just as popular bar) with no music and spent our money there. We don't mind music but when it's so loud you can't talk it's not great.

Some really cool ideas like the methods of ordering drinks etc. however, if you're here to talk to friends don't bother, the music is too loud to hear the person sitting next to you without shouting in their ear which really kills the vibe. May have just been not for me though.

Cocktails are good but don't bother going if there's live music and you want to hold a conversation, it's way too loud

Attended a private party, upstairs room was perfect for the occasion, all service great. Only qualm was steep stairs to room & toilets. Hard going if you have a problem with movement/mobility, but limited room perhaps for a disabled loo on room level.

Just awesome, best bar in Derby never a disappointment. Well done guys keep it up.

Amazing !!! 1st time and loved it. Great atmosphere !! The live music was fantastic, so many talented people. The cocktails are very tasty and made to order. Some offers at certain times but we only nipped in for 1 and had alot more lol. Table service to so don't need to leave your seat 😊

Not normally a 'cocktails' kinda girl, but we liked the look of the place and decided what the heck, it's happy hour so we'll get a cocktail! It was delicious! The doorbell table service was pretty cool too!

Absolutely amazing 👏 😍. Actually you calling the bartender with the remote controller to your table. You don't need to move from your chair just press one button and you having your beer straight away.

Trendy but very over priced...2 cocktails for £12 is the offer before 8pm. The cocktails are usually £8 each....They were the tiniest cocktails I have EVER seen. Extremely poor value for money.

The Blacksmiths Loft has been closed for some considerable time, TA have been informed on numerous occasions but seem unable to process this information.

As usual a very wide range of drinks and good service but the live singer was just too loud

The blacksmiths loft has been taken over by very friendly and welcoming owners. When the band came on I enjoyed myself much more so than when the bar music was playing. I feel the music played in the bar area before the band came on, was not suited to a Friday/Saturday night vibe. I alongside many of my family/friends would go in there more often if the music was more lively.

Nice atmospheric cocktail bar with a minimal amount of seating. Cozy.

What an absolute farce. We placed a booking and had a confirmation email. On arrival we were told the restaurant was closed. It was a special occasion too as we had been given gift vouchers as a treat. These had to be refunded and we were given a complimentary drink but the evening was spoilt. To make matters worse I received an email the next day, asking if we'd had a good experience at the restaurant. This needs to be addressed.

This meal was incredible, my partner had made a mistake by ordering something he couldn’t eat which most restaurants this would annoy, but they were super helpful. We got 2 free glasses of Prosecco to celebrate and super fast service. The food is delicious and staff were incredible, will definitely be visiting again

We went for lunch on Sunday and we were very impressed by the quality and quantity of the food. The service was excellent and we were not hurried at all. Sunday lunch for 2, if you have 3 courses includes a bottle of wine which makes if comparable and even better than other places we go to on Sunday.

Lovely place to hang out for a few drinks with 'the wife' on a Saturday night, great service from the staff! Thanks for looking after us.

Don’t visit this restaurant you book and they sat you haven’t Absolutely disgusting what this restaurant has done my mother is in bits booked a table for mother’s fay we went in the day before to check and they said they didn’t have a table my mother booked for her family this is outrageous... we have now had to try and book late notice elsewhere...

Visited on Saturday night - restaurant was busy with a few very vocal parties using constant bad language which didn’t help the ambience! My dishes were good (lamb shank was gorgeous) but sadly my partners dishes were pretty poor and when we asked to speak to the restaurant manager we didn’t get a great response - sad really as the restaurant has recently changed their manager and the predecessor was always attentive and great on customer service. We have always rated this restaurant and the bar downstairs especially when live music is on but will think twice about eating here again when there are other good options in close proximity! The bar downstairs remains excellent - great home flavoured gins!

Lovely little bar. Visited the open mic on Thursdays and Sundays several times and have been blown away at some of the artists. Great cocktail and Gin menu. Well worth a visit.

We were the first to be seated as soon as the doors opened but the restaurant quickly filled with 4 other tables. The menu available suited all tastes and we opted for the excellent offer of 3 courses and a half bottle of wine per person at £18.95pp!The lamb roast platter to share was outstanding! The cut of lamb served perfectly pink was melt in the mouth with large freshly cooked to order yorkshire pudding. All the trimmings were cooked to perfection and sufficient to feed the 2 of us and our toddler.The children's high chair was special, very safe, clean and met the edge of the table so as our daughter could eat with us. The waiter was knowledgeable, genuine and gave us a perfect dining experience. The music, decor and wine were without fault and I loved how clean and pristine everything was allowing for a very relaxed Sunday lunch All in all another excellent meal at the blacksmiths loft. I just wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the live music downstairs in the lounge.

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch, restaurant was rightly packed. Quality of was excellent as usual, staff stretched but providing an excellent service. Food quality, for this money is exceptional, hand made starter and desert with a large main course and a bottle of wine between two for less than £20 per head, a no brainer! Coffee is excellent too. Follow that up with an open Mic from 3-7.30pm, with some of the top singers in the Midlands attending, what's not to like? Oh yea, 10% off your tab downstairs after you have eaten! And yes, I was the table that had the main before my starter.

We visited for a date night, and the welcome was really lovely. The two members of staff working were super friendly and the choice was very impressive. We are real foodies and this cuisine was a welcome delight. I’ve taken a mark off for the heat in the place, it was pretty unbearable and made us feel a little unwell. And also the damp ceilings were a worry, and not nice to look at. Apart from that we highly recommend it! So much so, we rebooked when we were there!

I hate to give a three-star review but I have to be honest. The food was really lovely - the portion sizes were perfect for a lunchtime. The wine included in the set menu price is very drinkable too.However when we visited the service was what let it down. It felt like there really should’ve been another member of staff on.We waited over half an hour between ordering our desserts and receiving them, and it’s not like they were cooked to order. We also asked for tap water a couple of times but never got it. The table behind us also got their mains before their starters! Another table was getting a little impatient with their wait for their main course. When a table of six left their glasses weren’t cleared for quite a while too.We will no doubt be back to give them the benefit of the doubt, as we’ve really enjoyed previous visits.

We have visited on several occasions and enjoyed the set Sunday lunch menu. Very good value for money with a bottle of wine as well. I suffer from coeliac disease and have to follow a strict gluten free diet. This is never an issue. Thank you

Best open mic in town (on thursday night and sunday late afternoon) and one of the best i've been to in the whole country. Good staff. Nice beer. Little bit expensive but it's understandable.

Took my wife here Friday 22nd February for a date night. we've been before and loved it so decided to return. We arrived about 20 minutes early so popped in to the Blacksmiths Lounge which is a bar below the restaurant. As we sat down we were asked if we had a booking for upstairs and they advised them we were there. we ordered a bottle of wine and 20 minutes later the waiter showed us upstairs and took our drinks for us. My wife ordered the lamb shank which just fell apart and tasted delicious. I ordered the fillet steak and wasn't disappointed. I'm very particular where steaks are concerned but my fears were misplaced here. I asked for it to be cooked medium rare and that's exactly how it came! perfectly cooked and very tasty. the waiting staff are very helpful and extremely polite. The Blacksmiths Loft isn't cheap but its well worth the extra if you fancy a treat.

This was our first visit, as we live in Hull. The food was excellent, the service excellent. Although it was valentines weekend and the restaurant was full, the food was served without any delay. This was an great night out, helped by the very cheerful and happy staff. The atmosphere was friendly. A great place to eat.

Nice experience and friendly staff, bit over priced but food is good quality

We dined here as a couple on a Friday evening in February. We’d always wanted to try here despite hearing mixed reviews in the past but decided to book a table given that more recent reviews on here were mainly positive. However, we were left disappointed.

A mix of wonderful and underwhelming dishes! The mackerel starter was very average and not particularly exciting in flavor. 5 spice Pork belly was cooked wonderfully and the Herby flavoured potatoes served with it were unbelievable! All topped off with possibly one of the best deserts I've ever had. The chocolate Marquise was incredibly rich and smooth. And when paired with the creamy ice cream and sharp fruity parts it really was amazing. Also a nice selection of ciders from brands I've not tried before.

The food as in main course was perfect but as I believe they get their meat from butcher's Owen Taylor this is to be expected. For desert had creme brulee but the last time I visited a few years ago this took 30 minutes to make as done from fresh. However, last night it took less then 10 minutes so I can only assume it was reheated or part made already in advance.

Had a lovely evening out at this bar with my 2 sons. Very nice atmosphere,friendly staff and great 80's music.

We booked for an early evening meal, had a drink first in the linked lounge downstairs. Then came up to the restaurant, pleasant decor and attentive staff. We had the feb 3 course special 2 for £30. Wife had the lamb that was delicious and i had a great steak. Followed by a decent slab of sticky toffee desert that was really tasty. Great food and great price for a friday night, will be back.

The BEST Sunday lunch - plus if two of you order 3 courses you get a free bottle of wine! Really great food, lovely service, fab atmosphere.

Amazing, I went to watch Kevin Bradley Music and he was fantastic, the venue was amazing, the staff were brilliant and the atmosphere was unbelievable. I'll 100% be back the next time I'm in Derby.
