Seven Restaurant & Cafe Bar in Derby

Came for a spot of breakfast after a busy morning shopping.Close to the station which is amazing 🤩 Did not have a booking however this did not stop us being served. And we was NOT turned away even though the car park was full and never mind the inside of the restaurant. I had an eggs Benedict and my husband had the full english. Which has lots of options from toast to eggs. Which is great you actually get to choose and they both tasted incredible. We were both served by a young lady call Patricia and a young chap called Brogan they were both absolutely wonderful just like the coffee art which i never normally notice! Even had a conversation with us about what we were doing for the rest of the day. Nothing was to much for them even though you could see they were busy. We will be back.

We arrived this evening with a large group of 12 of us and they kindly rearranged tables to fit us in. Lovely buzzing atmosphere and perfect for our group of hungry girls and parents with a varied menu to accommodate us all. Lovely touch of 'good luck' brownies for the girls who are competing in a hockey event tomorrow!

First visit to Seven, but was recommended by someone for our works Christmas Meal. From the moment we stepped through the door the staff were attentive and friendly. We had pre-ordered food and everything came out correctly, swiftly, and was amazing!!! The restaurant was extremely busy but their amazing staff were on point consistently throughout the evening. I can hand on heart say this was not only the best Christmas meal I've had from a service perspective, but also from quality, nothing tasted mass produced as it often does at this time of year and as the organiser of our event I was expecting something to go wrong as it always does (at Christmas) well not here!!!. Well done to everyone at Seven and Happy Christmas!!!

My first visit to Seven, a family pre Christmas meal, food ok,my starter squid rings had long synu left in couple of pieces, main course well cooked and tasty however it looked like it was pre prepared and kept warm. Service was ok but one member of staff made a few genda related comments which was awkward as we were out with my sons new girlfriends parents. The overall experience was ok and my comments relate to the restaurants rating.

Went to celebrate my 40th birthday and wow! Absolutely fantastic service, the setting is beautiful great chill calm atmosphere, the food was amazing every person in my party enjoyed there meals. First time dining here but it won't be my last fantastic evening at Seven.

Great food and drink every time I’ve been. Next level stuff. Had one issue of food having been overcooked but this was some time ago and quickly resolved. Was pleasantly surprised on my way to a football match to see home fans being accommodated for food and drinks at the bar before the game, in such a way as to not inconvenience other diners. Just a classy place all round.

This is the 2nd time I have visited. On arrival we were asked if we had a table booking which we didn't but they found us a table 😁 before we even sat down we were asked what we would like to drink. Please at least let us look what drinks you do. We ordered tea and a coffee. We chose our food. They brought out our drinks to which I noticed my cup was dirty. The waiter happily changed it. I then poured my tea out of the tea pot to find it wasn't hot so asked for a hot tea. Again they brought me a fresh tea. Again it was cold so changed my drink altogether. The tea and my new hot drink were taken off the bill. Now the food on the other hand was simply amazing well presented and tasted as good as it looked. When I asked for the bill I asked if they take cash which the waiter replied yes we do. My bill was £23 I gave £30 as I did have the correct amount of money. The waiter then asked me if I would like my change before returning with it 🙈😱 which my reply was yes. You can not expect a tip for 3 complaints or even be so cheeky to ask

6 of us dined at Seven on Boxing day - it was fantastic. I have been here several times and it's always a great experience. The greeting, the service, the food and drinks - it's just the perfect package. It's also great to see some home made dishes like the spring rolls - my favourite starter. The service in the bar is great, we always enjoy a few drinks before sitting down. Given me a couple of weeks, and we'll be back :-)

Had a works Christmas meal last night, it was perfect. Service was great. Food was really nice. Really lovely staff, nothing too much trouble for them despite it being busy. Would definitely recommend. Not overly priced either

A huge thank you to Gabbie our host for my baby shower on the 7th of December. She made the experience so stress free and everything ran incredibly smoothly. She met and exceeded all of our requests and payed attention to the fine detail. Her efforts were above and beyond! Thank you to both Gabbie and manager Zoe for dealing with ALL of our queries pre, post and during my party. These ladies really helped in putting every detail together and ensured everything was done to perfection and exactly how I had asked. Fantastic service from start to finish! The food, drinks and atmosphere were also 10/10. Would highly recommend to anyone to book an event with Seven. Thank you for making my day so enjoyable/memorable! Looking forward to returning again in future.

Really great host who greeted us, very good sense of humour then took us to our table. Waiting staff were good. Food was great very tasty. When we went it's was very busy so not much parking so I'd recommend if you can sharing a vehicle during busy periods especially around Christmas.

Would have loved to of left a 5 star review but sadly cannot. Booking made for 11am for a champagne breakfast, arrived 10 minutes earlier yet car park was full to capacity. Called to say we had a booking yet could not park and was told use the pay & display nearby.!! Where nearby? Very rude & abrupt attitude so we never made our reservation as why should we have to use a pay & display nearby….

From first being in touch to arrange a larger booking, communication was great. Helped us greatly with our requirements and the table was perfect, just what we needed. Slight hick up with the pre order, but soon resolved. Food delicious, staff friendly and our waitress was so lovely and helpful. Thank you, we will be back.

I had a nice meal at Seven. I thought that the main menu was very good. I was torn between options. I ended up going for two appetisers (olives and pork belly bites), a starter (squid) and a steak for my main course. The portions were slightly on the smaller side but I still had a decent dinner. The squid was cooked pretty well. I asked for the steak well done and it came out pretty much how I expected it to be. It was nice to have the sauce included with the steak, as some places try and make you pay extra for the sauce. I thought the sauce itself was good. The chips were chunky and decent. I thought the atmosphere was quite chill. The staff were good humoured and attentive. The only issue with the service was that the waitress took my starter cutlery away after I had had my appetisers, even though I hadn’t used this yet as I had been given cocktail sticks to eat my appetisers with. I was a little unimpressed with the dessert menu. There seemed to be quite a few options for alcoholic coffees and for “dessert cocktails”. However, I wasn’t very impressed with the range of food options for dessert. This is a minor gripe really as the main menu was good and I enjoyed everything that I ordered off this.

Went here years ago and it was quite nice. The most recent visit was wonderful the food and staff were perfect.

Last night I had a meal at seven restaurant booked for 16.45. Despite the weather we were on time and were informed we had to order our food before 5pm as the kitchens closed at the time. This is not on the website. Our drinks order was taken then our food order. The starters and main courses were brought very swiftly. This surprised me as on previous visits service as been slow. We decided we didn't want any pudding but asked if we could order another drink. All this was under an hour of our arrival. The young waitress asked another waiter if we could have more drinks and we were told no despite being asked if we wanted anything else. It was clear they didn't want us to stay even with over an hour until the restaurant closed. The general attitude of the staff was very unfriendly and no member of staff said goodnight as we left. I for one shall not be returning

The 4 of us in for Monday lunch. Very popular. Lovely menu choices. Huge fish with chips. Salmon cooked well, pork medallions also, I was told. My smoked haddock choice was so tasty. My wife and I shared a (large) sticky toffee pudding. All food and drink at a good price and friendly service. Looking forward to returning.

Went here for our pre wedding family meal there was 12 in the party . We were seated in the terrace and what a lovely space it is ,cosy, lovely lighting, and comfortable seating. Really sorry but can't remember the name of the young person that served us ...but he was absolutely the best ,he had the wright amount of banter not too cheeky, very attentive, was totally on the ball ...even asking if we wanted the children's food to come out earlier..brilliant. Engaged with us all finding out about are wedding the next day . Now the food was as always top quality ,lovely presented, hot and good size. We had wine ,fizz,and cocktails exallent as well . It's always good to find a restaurant that is constantly exallent across all food services we have had breakfast, lunch,dinner and found them all exallent.

An ideal place for a celebratory meal or just getting together with friends and family. The menu choices are great and our waitress went the mile to make our meal memorable. For veggies I can recommend both the curry and halloumi.

Amazing service from the start!! Not sure on the ladies name but she was the manager she went above and beyond to get us a parking space when we arrived as one of our party members struggles to walk and there was no spaces! The food arrived quickly and was absolutely fantastic! Anabelle our waitress was incredible! Polite, attentive, friendly and just amazing at her job!!!! She made our evening! Thank you! We came here for a birthday off a recommendation and you surpassed all of our expectations. The food was out of this world, the restaurant was an amazing vibe and Annabelle gave excellent service from start to finish. I do like this restaurant and I have had some excellent meals here however my last couple of visits haven't been great. The service this time wasn't great, although the bar staff were great and not included in this, when eating I had to actively ask for everything which felt more like a disruption rather than a service and my order was wrong so my food was cold by the time the order was corrected and paying £21 for two 250ml wines seemed excessive... It's a shame as I bought a client with me who was looking at the restaurant as a venue for daytime events Hope it goes back to how it used to be re service and food

Champagne breakfast is really good

Went for breakfast and it was like being in the middle of a hen do. We had to ask for a high chair a few times and they got our order wrong. Poor customer service. Food average and overpriced for what it is.

Our table was in the 'terrace', more like a conservatory and away from the main bar area and other inside tables. We were very happy about the terrace as it was quieter than the main restaurant. I had the Double smash burger which was very nice. Good size. Nice meat and lovely bun. My wife had the Chicken Milanese which she also enjoyed. Very nice friendly service, and the whole place is really smart. Will definitely come back again next time we're in the area.

This restaurant is located the other side of the railway station from the centre of town and it is possible to cross a bridge in the railway station. It was definitely worth the walk from our hotel in the town centre. It is advisable to book as the restaurant is deservedly very popular. It has a large and pleasant interior with well spaced out tables. My partner had a chicken dish which was very good. I had a pork dish which was absolutely superb. The service was excellent. We look forward to returning when we are next in Derby.

Sunday lunch here is bloody amazing. I've knocked a star off the atmosphere rating because the modern hard surfaces make it soooo noisy. If you are sensitive to noise...it's still worth the risk! Really, really good Sunday lunch.... Not cheap but relative to a good pub, pretty reasonable

Sunday Birthday meal with friends. Popular place with a buzz, food was very nice. Had a couple of bottles of wine the barman was happy to recommend and gave us tasters. I had the rump steak which was cooked exactly to my liking and was delicious.

Went for cream tea which was very disappointing. They have just started offering this on the menu and haven’t got it right. It didn’t feel like a treat very basic. Service was great and the waitress really looked after us and welcomed the feedback.

What a gem of a restaurant!! Staff were amazing. I was torn between 3 dishes and asked the waitress to pick one and not tell me. I did put her on the spot but she did well! 😅 So when it came out it was a surprise and it was the salmon. Dear God it was heavenly. Crispy skin....al dente brocolli. Just beautiful! I can't wait to go back for more.

Great evening at seven our friends came from Birmingham. One of the party has a nut seed allergy. Our lovely waiter for the evening dark wavey hair sorry didn't get your name. You are a big asset to the restaurant knew the menu cocktails well. Explained to us all what was in the product reccomend dishes drinks. The food came out piping hot & didn't disappoint. Would highly recommend seven one of our favourite places in Derby . Keep up the good work you made our night such a good one 👍

Recently went for dinner to Seven. Absolutely loved the food & ambience it’s such a perfect atmosphere with friends and colleagues it really sets the mood right for the night. The food is well priced for the portion size however; we found the fish & chips to be not very fresh and was cooked to perfection. Other than that, the drinks were amazing and the cocktails were great. Drinks were priced at a reasonable price for the locality and nature of restaurant. I would definitely recommend dining here as the experience & staff are wonderful and super funny too 😄 the dessert menu is something you should not miss keep space because it’s totally worth it.

This was our first time at Severn, it was a great first experience. Will be returning. Atmosphere/Building/Decor: The inside of restaurant/bar was decorated impeccably. Very modern and tasteful and an enjoyable space to dine in. Smart, casual and classy vibes. Food: We went on a Sunday, which had the option of a Sunday roast or other options if you don’t fancy a roast dinner. All food looked really well presented. I had the crispy beef salad, which was one of the best salads I have ever eaten, moreover some of the nicest food I’ve ever eaten. There were lots of options on the menu, lots I would like to try. Plenty of veggie options and vegan options also. The dessert menu is fantastic, I had trouble choosing one as I wanted them all. I had the pistachio and almond torte, which was as described- the dessert was quite large though and I would have been happy with half the portion I received. Not a complaint, more of a suggestion. Great side dish options also. Next time I visit, I’m trying some of the starters they had, which were varied and would be something on there that most people would like. Drinks: lots of drink selection available. The cocktail menu is small, but has the classics on. Great selection of wines, beers and soft drinks also. Price: reasonably priced considering the standard of food, definitely worth the money. 3 drinks (inc alcohol), 2 mains and 1 dessert cost us roughly £55. Service: shout out to the lady who served us. Well presented and polite (I think her name was Tabitha). Other severs were really welcoming and friendly also. Attentive service, but not overbearing. All in all great service. Speed of service was very good also.

Wow what can I say came for my daughters 21st and from start to finish you All will made the night perfect. Food was absolutely beautiful and nothing was too much trouble . Perfect venue for a top class birthday venue cannot recommend this place enough , special shout out to Dave who went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great night . Do not forget to visit us at our busy coffee shop /cafe willow wood next to the regal st Ripley ; will be back again soon xxxx

I had a great time here, the staff were really lovely and kept checking up making sure we were having a good time. I really enjoyed the food! Not happy with the veggie sausages though, I was expecting a substitute rather than veg and mash in a sausage shape. Although thats not an actual restaurant or staff issue, other than that I loved it!

Visited today with my daughter and grand daughter for the champagne Breakfast. The food was plentiful and delicious and the service was spot on, a big shout out for our server Corey who was attentive and helpful and made the whole experience enjoyable. We will definitely be back

Gorgeous seating area outside in their enclosed garden space. Sofa seating all the way around with tables and seating, really lovely vibe. Food is delicious! I ordered the Chicken Club sandwich which came with fries and a little salad garnish. Really was lovely! Drinks options are great and reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning 🙌🏼🥂

Had a private room booked for a birthday party on the 1st aug .the restaurant is lovely and the food very good but the person who served us was absolutely amazing he was so funny and friendly and genuinely a lovely person .he joined in had amazing banter and really became part of the night .thank you Dave you made the evening ! 10 stars xxxxx

We came a few days ago and placed our order, 45m-1hr until our food arrives after asking for a while. Drinks took their time too. When it came to paying the bill, we decided to take the discretionary service charge off as we thought that we didn't have the usual decent service and took ages to get the food. We went back to our table to get money and when we returned back to the till, we can see the waitress having a meltdown and showing anger towards something (which we didn't realise was us), it is only when one of her colleagues said "shh they're behind you", did I realise that we had severely upset the waitress by removing the service charge. However a discretionary service charge should not be expected, so the waitress shouldn't get upset. Furthermore, we gave the waitress £20 too much and noticed it when she was counting it. After saying "Sorry did I give you too much" she shoved the £20 notes back into my direction, without looking and gave us major attitude for the next few minutes we were there. She even came back to the table and angrily put 45p change on to the table and walked off. The manager was nothing but nice throughout, just wish she was the one waiting on our table. I've been to Seven many times over the last few years, but this was definetly my last time. Sincerest apologies to the waitress to whom got overly upset regarding removing a service charge and for me being a major nuisance to her day by asking for £20 note that we had accidentally given to her, back. Please don't let this upset you further. Food was good but service, just at the end, let the entire thing down. 2-stars is only for the manager and because the food was nice. 1-star otherwise.

Poor poor quality food. Had beer battered haddock and triple cooked chips. Tasteless! The chips were not triple cooked, barely once/ twice. Others took off the batter and ate just the fish! I think the company needs to seriously think about rebranding from seven to maybe three!!!

11 of us went to Seven today, it was absolutely brilliant, the food amazing, the atmosphere perfect, Korrie our waiter was spot on, so lovely and helpful and made our party special, thank you, we will be back highly recommend 😀

We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Seven and we had a fantastic evening with our friends. The food was exceptional and cooked to perfection!! My friend was impressed with the gluten free menu which is the same as the main menu. The team wished my husband happy birthday individually and after our meal they gave him a platter with fireworks and chocolate brownies…..we are already looking forward to our return.

Came in for a last minute drinks catch up with a friend and it looked very busy but we were able to get a table and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Food appetisers and drinks we ordered were spot on and the staff constantly checked if we needed anything. Prices we fab too. Looking forward to going back.

Used to come here a lot and the food isn’t as nice as it used to be, for the price it should be a lot nicer, the potions aren’t great either so not fantastic value. Service is also slow.

We came here for dinner, we had such a lovely experience we had the cornfed chicken and chicken milanese for mains and had wonderful deserts, particularly recommend the biscoff cheesecake. Had a lovely meal here. Nice and cheap surprisingly, because it feels expensive (in a good way). The food was all amazing, and the whole place had a brilliant vibe. We had no booking, and were in terrace which was lovely. An Extensive and excellent wine list. We had the chicken milanese, cornfed chicken, pecan and treacle tart, and white chocolate biscoff cheesecake. David (Dave) our server made us feel absolutely at home. I left a 1 star five years ago because the food was some of the worse i'd tasted for money paid . I've now been twice over the last month and i have to say this is now my go to place for my date nights. Good solid menu with the perfect mix of atmosphere and the service is impeccable .. Well done the Seven Team ..

Had a superb dinner with my daughter which rounded off a lovely day. Excellent service, the most delicious food, second to none. Would definitely recommend the lamb and the salmon and we had lemon tart with blackcurrant sorbet for dessert, what amazing flavours !

Have been numerous times over the years and the food is always delicious, on time and served with a smile. You walk into the spacious dining area where you are greeted by one of the lovely hostesses who takes you over your table where you are promptly asked what you would like to drink - they have a great selection of lagers and ales on tap. The menu is diverse so plenty of options to choose from and they constantly change the menu by introducing specials to keep it fresh. Highly recommend the chicken ceaser salad and the Arancini to start for lunch! Will continue to come back as always leave feeling full and have got excellent value! Thanks again!

Went for a champagne breakfast yesterday (baby shower) . The young chap that was dealing with us was really lovely and helpful. But the woman manager was rude to him in front of customers to him .i thought the way she spoke to him was disgusting and really spoilt the atmosphere. He was running about mostly on his own .which was fine but then to see him being treated like that . Terrible

We cx are for my daughter baby shower, however the roads were closed do to the marathon so we ended up being 45 mins late… we had our own room which was lovely and the young lad who served us all morning on his own was fantastic, even when the kitchen messed up the food he was so apologetic… the food was fantastic. When we went down to pay the young lad who served us was behind the bar doing drinks… the lady (I presume the manager) was very rude to him and told him in an aggressive way that “if I’ve gotta do this you need to get in the floor (restaurant) and get her behind there”. We felt like it was effort for her to serve us but other than that I would definitely recommend 5*
