Busy for lunch but service efficient and friendly. Some unusual salads and sandwiches. Tasty. Would come again.

We had a lovely evening meal for a rare date night out. Food and drinks were amazing! Just a shame that shortly after finishing our food and still having half a drink left each we were told our table was needed in 10 minutes time. Bearing in mind we had booked the table for 6:30pm and we were told this at 7:25pm. We understand restaurants need to be able to turn tables around for continuous service. However, less than an hour after our booking time, when we had literally just had our plates taken away felt quite rude and did put a damper on our evening.

Probably the best breakfast I've ever had. Highly recommend! Lovely staff too.

Yummy food, great cocktails & lovely venue. It always felt quite small and cramped at the old venue, the new place is soo lovely with plenty of room and beautifully decorated. As always, we’ll be back for our girly evenings here. We always have a lovely time!

The most friendly people you could ever meet. Their food and drink (especially the coffee) is THE best in town. Ever since opening our collectibles store close by we have been treated like friends. Wouldn't dream of getting our coffee from anywhere else! Its just great and WELL worth a visit.

Our first visit to new venue. Absolutely love it! Every mouthful of our small plates food was delicious. We had 6 small plates between us and my partner has hearty appetite! We left totally satisfied. Service fantastic, atmosphere great! Monday to Thursday price for small plate menu is very good. We will definitely be back and supporting your fabulous independent offering. Really refreshing to see such a successful independent venue.

Really enjoyed coming here for my rare night out with my husband. It doesn't feel like you're in Chesterfield, more of a city vibe.

We were looking forward to dining at the new venue. First of all may I say the food was very good. The front of house welcome and service was excellent. Unfortunately we had to wait 55 minutes for our "brunch" order to arrive. Now, we understand everything is cooked fresh. However, to sit for nearly an hour waiting for food is too long. Every table around us were also waiting the same amount of time. We visited, planning to "call in" during midweek lunch breaks from work. Unfortunately, we won't be doing so in the future. We have decided to take our custom elsewhere and support other local businesses, which is a shame. Not the review I had hoped to give, but an honest review from me.

Loved the old Bottle and Thyme, never had a bad experience so was very excited to try the new gaff, lovely atmosphere, warm, welcoming staff and great service, food was delicious however…. The small plates are very small with very small amounts of food and are extremely pricey. Rather dissapointed. Think the evening menu needs revising with a little more choice

It’s a shame they have opened a bigger place without considering needing to cater for more people. Although the food was at a great standard, we waited 50 minutes after ordering for the food. Being told, sorry we are busy doesn’t really cut it for brunch spot on a Saturday morning, they should know they will be busy and make it work. Probably won’t bother going again now, shame as the food is good. Ruined the experience and we were not the only ones left waiting.

The new restaurant is lovely however as they were so busy service was very slow, my scrambled eggs were cold and the portion was small. Hopefully it’s just teething problems and they will be back up standard soon.

Best restaurant in Chestfield. Food here won't let you down. The coffee is good. The breakfast is really delicious. Dinner is a bit pricey but it's good food. Try to order three dishes deal for £18. Then add others will be better. We really enjoy the food here. If you are coming for the dinner,try to make the reservation before you come on Friday evening to Sunday lunch.

Disappointed with my visit to Bottle and Thyme on Saturday. The staff were friendly however we waited around half an hour before we were served a cappuccino, iced coffee, brownie and sausage roll( which arrived when we were ready to leave). The iced latte was in a tiny glass which cost 3.50, bit of a rip off and the cappacino was actually a latte. I ordered a sausage roll which did not come with the drinks. By the time the sausage roll came, we were ready to leave. I advised the waitress to just take it off the bill, but was given a box to take away with me. Overall very disappointing due to the long wait time, service and overpriced drink. Whilst expansion of the bottle and thyme allows for more customers, maybe make sure you can actually serve them before expanding?

Very loud compared to their older venue. It took ages for drinks to come. We could have easily walked out without paying. Hopefully, once they are settled in the atmosphere will be better

Had an absolutely delicious meal tonight. We enjoyed the midweek deal, and happy hour cocktail. Couldn’t fault the food which was absolutely excellent, the cocktails were yummy, and the service was excellent. Really reasonably priced when on the deal as well! Would definitely go again!

Fantastic event for my sisters wedding celebration today. The food was absolutely stunning and Maisie from the team really looked after us! Can’t wait for my next visit.

Called here for cup of coffee and tea also a round of toast the jam and the butter very generous. I think for what we had the price was very good the service was excellent fantastic just what Chesterfield need’s

I’m never one to leave such a bad review of a place, but honestly really disappointed with the service received over the weekend. My friends booked a surprise birthday brunch for myself at 2.45pm. They specifically asked for a booking for brunch, so it was evident we would be eating. Our places were even sat at the table with knives and forks. I arrived at 2.45pm on the dot to a beautiful restaurant and greeted by my friends. It all looked so promising. When we went to ask to order, the waitress decided to tell us that we in fact can’t order food and their kitchen shuts at 3pm. None of that was communicated to us. We quite clearly had our table set as if we were about to eat. We asked the lady very nicely if we could order with it still not being 3pm and she came back and confirmed it in fact wouldn’t be possible and it was communicated to them that our table was for drinks. Really shocked and disappointed in this service and all the effort my friends had gone to, for us to have to inevitably leave as we were starving! I even showed a member of staff the original message sent by my friend, which clearly requests a table for brunch, and all they could do was say they’ll speak to their manager and it was miscommunication from their manager who deals with the social media bookings. I understand they have just recently relocated. But basic customer service and communication are part of any business, whether that is on a small scale or not. If they had admitted fault, then why not do something to rectify the situation instead of just blame everyone else. It just seemed to be everyone else’s problem, but theirs. And 15 mins after the conversation, at 3pm, they were still firing food orders out! Also to add, one of the guests since reached out (privately) to express their disappointment via the same social media platform she used to make the booking, and has been left on read/ignored. So unprofessional. Ended up having to pop to a local cafe for my birthday brunch. Wouldn’t recommend :(

The new venue is lovely, but it's not somewhere I'd come back for food in the evening. Portions are tiny and very pricey! Went with a large party for a nice meal and we all ended up grabbing some more food elsewhere once we'd finished as it just wasn't enough. Probably better for brunch in the day or cocktails in the evening.

Perfect brunch spot with lovely food and a beautiful aesthetic, can’t wait to come again.

Wow!!! We visited here on Saturday night in the new venue opposite on Elder Way. This is the best place to eat in Chesterfield by a country mile. The food is amazing fantastic tapas menu. Such a great atmosphere with live music I take my hat off to them. The food is cooked fresh to order NOT A MICROWAVE IN SIGHT!!! If you don’t try this place you are greatly missing out! Can’t wait to go back!

Fabulous food, service and atmosphere, however, for us the menu is very limited and quite expensive. We went on Saturday evening, had four small plates (small tapas size) a chicken burger each ( and the burger in a bun is all you get) and a small side of chips, plus 3 x 175ml wine and 3 x beers, and it came ro £140!! No coffees and no deserts on that!! Food was delicious and staff lovely, but personally think if they want repeat business in the evenings, they need to rethink prices and menu options, with there not being much else in town if they want people to travel especially to eat there in the evenings.

Highly recommend Bottle and Thyme - for a lovely meal or for an event. We just had a party for about 35 people in their lovely new premises and I really can't recommend them enough. The small plates menu was brilliant - restaurant quality imaginative options but in buffet format. Generous portions too - your guests won't go hungry. Hugh was brilliant with the planning and service on the night. Thanks for a memorable evening B&T - will definitely book again.

Didn't think it was great value for money despite the food being nice. It was overpriced for small portions. The ganache dessert was very disappointing, cost £8.95 for this thing. 3 were ordered for the table and it just seemed like 1 person's portion was divided onto 3 plates.

The new space is lovely. Staff are friendly and food was nice enough but service was extremely slow.

What a find! Came here for brunch on a Friday and loved it so much that we came back to squeeze in a couple of cocktails on Sunday before our bus back to London. Fantastic people working here, lovely brunch vibe, great food and drink. I have no notes!

Up here from West Country on a training thing in Sheffield tomo googled resturants near me & hit on here after checking out & saying naaaa to a few others! My daughter & I are just blown away & will probably be back to try more tomorrow! The Seabream, belly pork, bavette steak, the POTATOES oh & the cauli croquettes then the to die for brownies 💘💘💘

We called in Bottle and Thyme this afternoon, on our way back to the carpark. We enjoyed a lovely cup of tea and cake, we sat outside at one of the little tables. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt really welcome and would call in again and recommend. Thank you

Booked a table for brunch on our way home from Sheffield. The cafe is a short 5 minute walk from the Saltergate multi storey car park and just on the edge of town. We visited in a Sunday morning for brunch and the restaurant was busy but staff were attentive and we didn’t have to wait too long to be served. The menu is varied with plenty of vegetarian options. Loved it and would definitely visit again!

My first visit but definitely not my last. The food surpassed expectations.

We popped in here for a drink with plans to get dinner further down the road. When our original plan fell through we stayed at Bottle & Thyme and ate here instead and I am so glad we did! The service was great and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, the wine was great and the food was just fabulous. Definitely the best tapas/sharing meal I've had in a while and I would definitely return even though it isn't local.

Friendly staff, great service and lovely food. Ate here on a Tuesday morning and the place was pretty much full the whole time.

Had a few hours to kill so headed here for a brunch and was not disappointed! Fancied something a little more upmarket than a classic £5 chezzy fry up. The eggs florentine was out of this world, the spinach so rich and buttery, great quality bread and perfect poached eggs with a bright orange runny yolk. The coffee was tasty and nice and hot too. All staff were friendly and helpful (and all look like they've just wandered straight out of Zara). To say they were busy, the service was quick and quality of the food was not skimped on, props to the chef! Will come again and definitely recommend, thank you!

Good food, service was a little slow and the menu for lunch time was different to what we expected as we previously ate in the evening when the tapas and scotch eggs are available. We know now.

Met a friend here for lunch yesterday. Disappointed at the poor choice of menu. Didn't have any smoked salmon for one of the dishes on the menu so my friend had to have a different dish. I ordered a cheese burger which was £12.50. It was lukewarm . I had to pay an extra £4.50 for chips which I think is disgusting. In most other places chips are included in the price. Overall I felt the venue was cramped and poor value for money. I WON'T be returning.

Best brunch in Chesterfield! We loved the veggie full breakfast and eggs were cooked to perfection. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. Service was top notch, super friendly staff from start to finish. Superb!

Made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. The lunch/brunch menu felt a little limited but the kimichi burger was very very good. The chips could have been a little bit crisper but I still ate them all :) All the staff were lovely and attentive. The only downside is the cost of a bottle of wine - maybe a house wine circa £25 would help?

A friend and I went here for a late lunch. We arrived at about 2.50 and were told by the waitress that they stopped serving food at 3 so we ordered quickly. The decor is lovely, as are the toilets and the service was pleasant. However I felt the price of the meal was extortionate. It cost over £20 for a burger, chips and a coke! Chips are not included in the meal price so it was around £15 just for a chicken burger. My friend had a cheese toastie with chips and we both agreed that the food was a little greasy and I would definitely not say it was worth the price we paid.

Amazing food & great atmosphere. Chicken Deli sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Will definitely be back.

Food was excellent! One of the best breakfasts I’ve had. We had the full veggie and the sausage bap, both incredible. I would definitely come here again. Thank you so much Service was a little slow when trying to pay but this doesn’t affect us.

This review would have been average had the service from a blonde lady dressed in brown was excellent hence the 4* review instead of 3. Booked a table for 10am for breakfast with friends - arrived at 9.57am to the internal door open and one of the two external doors open. All lights on so went in. Young girl behind the counter “ we aren’t open yet.” It was -0.5 outside and she made us and another couple stand outside until just after 10.00am. If we hadn’t have been waiting for friends we would have left and gone elsewhere due to her attitude but unfortunately couldn’t. The food and service from other staff was good but she really put us off returning. I understand if they wasn’t open but we was a couple of minutes before our booking time, if people was late they would soon have something to say and secondly she could have acted better in her approach.

Nice friendly atmosphere with the best poached eggs in town

For me the nicest bar / restaurant in town , only ever been for brunch but on the 3 occasions we have it’s always a lovely meal and great atmosphere , it’s busy so would pre book as and when you can but the staff are always lovely and will try fit you in. If you want somewhere nice to take family or relax this is the place.

A fabulous choice of Brunch/Lunch starting at 12pm. Great atmosphere, quality food, polite, obliging and friendly staff. Can’t fault it, it was perfect.

This is one of my favourite restaurants ever. I love that the menu changes throughout the seasons and each time there are some fantastically thought out plates. I enjoyed the autumn menu so much I went two weeks in a row and I can see the winter menu has come out so would love to try that soon. The live music and happy hour from 9pm is always worth sticking around for too.

Bottle and Thyme advertise breakfast served from up until 11 30 on their website however, walked in and to be told at 11 05 that they had stop serving breakfast and their was at least 5 tables free. Will not be returning.

Great night out for our works Christmas party this previous weekend. Food delicious, service outstanding, no empty glasses, perfect. We had a slight misunderstanding with pre-ordering the cheese board but they came up with a solution and everyone was happy. Will definitely be back.

Visited for breakfast and although no seats available asked to return in 30mins,which we did and were seated next to the Barista, who was very friendly and welcoming as was all the staff.The breakfast was lovely with locally sourced food. Well worth booking a time as very busy even at brunch!!

I frequently visit Bottle and Thyme , hands down the best place in chesterfield! Whether that be for breakfast, tapas , coffees ,cocktails or their amazing wine knowledge! We have been for many different occasions- as a couple , with our children , out with friends, always a pleasure. Every experience we’ve had here has been nothing less than a pleasure , the quality of the food is fantastic , portion size is great, pricing is good and all of the staff are warm , knowledgeable and friendly- nothing is ever too much trouble. What a fantastic meal and evening. My wife and I were staying in Chesterfield for one night. Having researched places to eat beforehand we choose Bottle and Thyme and we were not disappointed. We chose a selection from the small plates menu and indulged in a couple of cocktails too! The food, drink, service and atmosphere was superb. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and if we lived closer we would use the restaurant regularly. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was also fantastic value for money too!

I frequently visit bottle and thyme and it is by far my favourite place in chesterfield!! The food is always amazing no matter what time of day, the prices are low especially for the quality of the food and the staff are always so helpful and friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble! I always have the best time coming to bottle and thyme so thank you!

Booked for a family birthday meal. Took a while for a waitress to take our drinks order. Food was lovely but one dish was far too greasy so we did mention it at the end )having left half or it) and we’re given £2 off the price!!! Asked for the coffee menu and this was left lying on our table for at least 15 minutes with no order being taken so we decided to pass. When we paid the waitress stood over us whilst we decided whether to select a tip on the payment device (none needless to say!) which we felt was very intrusive. Staff need serious training………

We were a party of 14 celebrating 2 birthdays. The booking process was easy with Georgia being the point of contact who was always prompt in replying to any emails. We pre booked our meals in readiness and all 14 meals were served at the same time, drink orders taken and also delivered promptly with a smile. The staff were very helpful, friendly, efficient and helpful all the time. The food was excellent, attractive and freshly cooked. They also bought out the cakes with the candles lit for us. I would recommend this place to anyone - it’s got a friendly atmosphere with great staff.

Absolutely disappointing, was looking forward to a lovely breakfast with my mom and dad. Only to get there and stand by the door waiting to be seated for 15 mins, while every waitress just walked straight passed us to eventually have someone tell us that they are full and we would have to wait for 45mins for a table. Shocking that we had to stand there for so long till we were told that they were full. Never going back ever. Very disappointed.

Staff were polite and friendly, but inexperienced. We asked for a couple of swaps with our breakfast (which the waitress got wrong but I let it slide. I asked for an extra slice of bacon in place of mushrooms but I was not warned there would be an extra charge for the bacon, but I received a sausage in stead. It was nice so I let it slide). A place we frequent for breakfast doesn't charge so we never thought to ask. It would have been helpful had the waitress explained there's an extra charge for swapping items. Although the ingredients were good quality the prices are too high for our pockets so we won't be returning.

What a surprise! Managed to book a table before heading to the theatre, the staff squeezing us in as it was so busy - and we can understand why. Strikes me not a lot of great places to eat in Chesterfield, but this one is and would definitely go back. The food was amazing - we had a selection of small plates which we shared between us. We thought they might be small, but there was plenty and we left feeling very full as ate all of it! The staff were super friendly and attentive and the whole place just had a lovely vibe - relaxed, busy, buzzy but not too much trouble for the staff who seemed genuinely pleased to have you as guests. A gem of a place.

First time visiting here today. Excellent food, went for breakfast with my daughter one of the nicest restaurant breakfast that weve had, definitely recommend the eggs Benedict 😊 friendly staff lovely little place.
