Been coming here for many years .Very quite today when came in staff seemed a bit moody had stake pie,mash,peas & gravy .last few occasions pie dinner not been as good as usual and thought give it another chance ,both dinners ordered came out cold mash took back told us she was going to give us fresh dinners. They warmed it up instead and bought back out definitely not fresh as I stabbed my pie with knife earlier and wife's pie had a piece out which she ate earlier before warming up.Pea's hard ,pie over cooked with soggy Pastry and meat tuff ,Mash watered through with previous gravy only thing new was more gravy added. Never had to take anything back in past years got the feeling staff were not bothered very reluctant to have stake pie or give the cafe a break for a while 🤔😞😒

No finer value anywhere, all food freshly cooked, good portions and excellent prices.

I visited today for the first day. I can’t believe I haven’t been in before. I had a small breakfast priced £5. I couldn’t believe the quality of the produce. The sausage was definitely quality - it tasted amazing. I eat out often and have never had a breakfast for £5 that included coffee and toast. I will definitely be back. The staff were lovely too. Thank you so much x

Food good. However, the staff have obviously never heard of the phrase 'service with a smile' Both members of staff appeared to be bad mood, which spoiled our visit to-be-frank :/

Visited on 2 days once for breakfast once for lunch , excellent meal both days at a very good price. Will call in again when passing that way .

As a regular customer nearly every Sunday ( 3 of us) we certainly didn’t go for the friendly, welcoming atmosphere because there isn’t one! But we can’t fault the Sunday dinners. I ordered 3 meals to take home on this one occasion, to be told “ cash only” what again??? Hmmm… I explained I only have Apple Pay on my phone I have misplaced my back card, the lady turned to what I can assume was the “manager” who glared and just said no when I asked if I could pop in with the cash in the week. Disgusting service, the money we have spent in there and couldn’t help me this once. The excuse is always the card reader isn’t working AGAIN … really??? Or is it a tax dodge perhaps? Certainly won’t be seeing me again and word of mouth is king remember!!

Photos don't do it justice. It was absolutely spotless, warm and has recently been redecorated which adds to the pleasant atmosphere. Customer service was excellent, everything came with a smile. Delicious breakfast, black pudding of good quality. (Visited a week ago)

I’m a reasonably regular customer but they have just changed the menu. The steak pie dinner used to come with mash, roasties,Yorkshire,cabbage,carrots and peas. After the recent menu change it only comes with peas and a load of mash. In my opinion they would be better uping their prices rather than dumbing down the menu. Think they may lose a lot of regular customers which would be a shame because the staff are really good and friendly.

Always a warm welcome even when busy. Food and service excellent. Prices amazing. Don't know how they do it but they do. Would highly recommend a visit.

Crossroads Cafe was recommended by a friend, we were a party of 5 and turned up for breakfast before going onto the Beer Festival at the Roundhouse. This place is like the Tardis. The food and service were spot on, you cannot beat the Crossroads Breakfast for quantity, quality, price and service, in fact everything on the menu was very reasonably priced This place seems to be very popular. we cannot get a breakafst at that price where we are near Lichfield. Very definatly will be there again this time next year

Excellent service with easy on street parking alongside. Food was cooked perfectly. Happy to add extras if you're greedy like me!

First time I've been to this cafe, couldn't fault it at all we had 2 Crossroads Breakfasts £6 each that was including a drink bargain, food and staff spot on, will be back again.

You call this value for money????? All bread. Asked for welldone bacon. That isn't. This is a large.... 1 egg and 3 rashers of bacon is a joke!!!!!! Avoid!!!

Food OK but service is shocking, they only got one speed and that is very slow, ordered 2 breakfasts took 20 mins to come was not even busy, our cups of tea were cold by time it came, they all miserable like they just been told they been put on death row,, then we ordered a sausage cob to takeaway for daughter at home another 20 mins for that and then we had to ask how much longer for a sausage cob, will not be returning absolute shocking service

Been using this cafe for as along as I can remember, it's the best it's ever been, really good food, at reasonable prices. Thanks for a fantastic breakfast again today girls. I would recommend the coaatge our and the cheese n onion beans n homemade chips, awesome

We had Daisy's birthday dinner a week late because on her birthday we were in Whitby. She asked me "if we go home now will we get back in time for a cross roads dinner". She's been going there since she was a tiny baby and absolutely loves the place xxx

Been going here for nearly 20 years. Call in once or twice a year when in the area, we live about 90 miles away.Only ever had breakfast, which has always good. Good value for money. Quick service..

This is far from a "posh" cafe but it is clean, it is very reasonably priced and the staff are really friendly. The food is perfect and there is a huge varied choice. What more can you ask for.

Called in for breakfast after seeing the devastation caused by the floods at place of work close by. The breakfast lifted our spirits as it was spot on. It was tasty and plenty of it. This isn't a posh cafe but it's clean, the staff are friendly and it's very reasonably priced. Two full English, toast for two and two teas £11. There is a big selection on the menu board.

Found online before arriving for a short stay in a local hotel. The breakfast lived up to expectations and was served quickly and efficiently.

Visited here on the Sunday morning after a very heavy long day at wedding the day before. It was just what the doctor ordered as the local travelodge about five minutes walk away didn't offer cooked breakfast. Bit transport cafe like but couldn't fault the service or the range of food on offer. It was excellent.

We were recommended this cafe when we stayed locally visiting relatives. We called in for several days for breakfasts which were very good, they also do full dinners and Sunday roasts. Very good food and cheap.

We were recommended this cafe whilst staying down the road. Looks nothing special from the outside but it's well worth going in. Warm welcome from friendly staff and the food was excellent, very tasty and excellent value for money. We would recommend this place and will be back.

I ordered - full English breakfast @ £5 for 4 bacon 2 sausage Egg, beans, tomatoes, toast & coffee - requested to change Beans & tomatoes for black pudding- normally free anywhere else - here they tried charging an additional £1.60 to swap! Uncle/Boss ordered 4 bacon, 2 eggs, mushrooms & tomatoes Total of- £11.70!!!!!What an absolute rip-off. Won’t be visiting again for certain.

Proper old style greasy spoon although this one has a 5* hygiene rating. Food is done to a good standard and there is plenty on the plate and plenty of choices. Definitely go back a hidden gem

Never had a bad meal here. Breakfasts are very nice as is the sunday roasts..they will even do u a sunday roast takeaway. Highly recomended.. clean place,pleasant staff,quick service..

He vivido en Chesterfield, de 17 años y pasado este café casi a diario preguntándose qué era como. Finalmente bien sé y me faltaba un truco. Gran servicio del personal amable y comida excelente relación calidad-precio. Limpio como un nuevo pin a pesar de las apariencias exteriores. No puedo responder por las comidas durante el día, pero el desayuno era de lujo.

This little cafe does an absolutely wonderful breakfast and very cheap.We have also had a Sunday lunch and that was lovely as well the puddings are huge would definitely recommend a must to try

Craving a good breakfast, after an early start and awaiting a new building site to open, I asked a local delivery man to recommend a good cafe, which he most certainly did.Very welcoming with a good choice of well priced food. I now look forward to visiting the area so I can call in.It appears to be a meeting place for a lot of the locals and is very popular.

We were staying at the Travelodge 5 mins walk away the lady at the hote desk told us about it.Excellent breakfast good price very friendly staff what more could you want we went on both days of our stay great cafe there were about 10 of us friends and we all enjoyed it.

Close to work x roads is a local cafe with a big reputation staff brill food brill prices brill . Loads of mates use this cafe .

Having eaten well over my fair share of breakfasts over the years, this place is up there with the best.A good sized meal that sets us up for the day on site.They do struggle with the Welsh accent though!

Whilst me and my family were on holiday in the chesterfield area we were advised to visit crossroads cafe and i'm glad we did. The food and portions were excellent! I had the full monty and struggled to stand after. My 3 children who are fussy eaters were well catered for the staff were very friendly and helpful. We can't wait for our next visit and we will definitely try one of the dinners next time.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. The outside may be shabby but the inside is spotless, the staff are friendly and the food is great. And I only paid £15.50 for 3 huge meals and 4 drinks. Bargain.

Whilst its appearance may make it look like a truckers greasy spoon from the outside it is an ace cafe. Yes it may be popular with workmen, but there's more to it than that. It does what we feel is the best breakfast in the area- and at a very reasonable price. I have the Crossroads Full English but there is a variant to suit all tastes. The food is well cooked and very tasty. The staff are very pleasant so go try it!
