The best restaurants serving British food in England

The garden is sheltered from the wind and a bit of a sun trap. We spent a beautiful afternoon relaxing, chatting and soaking in the atmosphere of the garden over a couple of bottles of wine. Dog friendly (outside) too and the staff were friendly and warm. We made some cherished memories there and will be back again. Thank you.

Ordered food as i witnessed the plated gold they were bringing out for others. I was not disapointed. All the staff were so happy and welcoming it got me excited about the food and my time here very nice regulars, and the randoms that came in (like me) left with a smile. Very clean toilets clean bars and tables. Very nice ye olde interior alot of history. Thank you !

We returned to this traditional English pub for our anniversary, having met there 8 years prior. Great food and plenty of customers for a mid-week lunch is a nod to the landlord, who was super friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back for our next anniversary, if not before!

A wonderful quintessential tearoom. Excellent food and service and the salt beef sandwiches to die for. In my view even better than served at the Brass Rail in Selfridges! Great selection of food and drinks. A good sign is that it is nearly always very busy.

This is a really nice café selling so many delicious baked goods, savoury and sweet. The atmosphere is really cosy and the staff are really friendly. We was served by Nathan Thomas and he is so helpful and friendly. I have tried many different pastries and pasties, I love all of them, also tried the sausage rolls and it was also delicious. Their range of drinks are also delicious. I would recommend anyone to give it a try. You can eat in or take away, there is something for everyone.

Returning to Yorkshire after many years, this confirmed the superiority of fish and chips in the county. Wonderful haddock in delicious light batter, which you don't get anywhere else. Lunchtime special a bargain, fish and chips, hot drink and bread and butter all for £11.95. In Cheshire, the price of a starter! Very friendly and helpful staff.

Vaya. Qué alegría haber venido aquí. Aquí es donde la ciencia se encuentra con el arte. Impresionante comida cocinada con pasión y explicada con estilo. La ostra fue una revelación, y el cordero era apropiadamente especial, pero todo lo demás era delicioso también. Los vinos eran hermosos y estaban bien maridados con la comida, con historias encantadoras para explicar cada uno de ellos, incluyendo la sidra de Somerset. My daughter has just had her wedding here and what a fantastic experience it was. From the moment we got there till the moment we left. the day went like clockwork . With this beautiful and immaculate venue you have a team of totally professional people running your event for you. The food they on offer is amazing and guests the next day were saying how good it was. All I can says is a massive thank you to everyone involved in Harry and Natasha’s wedding.

Absolutely fabulous as always. We live in Keswick but this is one place we love. Never had a bad meal and service is excellent. We got the bus instead of driving and we were an hour late and we still had a table.

Staff are friendly and kind. We always get served with smile. Food is excellent it gives a home made favour and it's very tasty

Excellent service at Bridge St on May 1st, as was the food (Halibut) and wine. My wife and I really enjoyed out time there, and this made a wonderful part to our Anniversary. Thankyou all. We will be back!

Good drinks and food, lovely location

Always an enjoyable evening when the group of us go to Nando’s. Lovely food and great service. Chris with the red hair made us all feel welcome and checked on our table a few times he was lovely.
