The Drawing Room in Bromley

Met a friend here today on my birthday,cdnt believe how busy it was but now l know.A beautiful young lady greeted me and asked what I'd like almost immediately. My friend and l chose the delicious home made cake and when my slice arrived with a lighted candle in it the whole café broke into Happy Birthday. I'd had a sad morning but what a happy afternoon. Highly recommend this place you won't be disappointed.

Was treated to a delicious spooky afternoon tea with my grandson. The staff were fabulous and the cakes scrummy. Sandwiches a little disappointing but had a lovely afternoon,would definitely recommend and will be back to try lunch .

We are regulars at this restaurant and we have recently celebrated our birthdays here. My 90th and my husbands 92nd. I was presented with a bouquet of flowers and my husband a tin of sweets. We were given a card that was signed by all the staff. This café is spotless, the freshly prepared food delicious sand inexpensive. the hospitality is second to none. In the words of the Tina Turner song "Simply the best". Thank you drawing room for making our visit so enjoyable. Pauline and Gordon.

It was really cute tea room and staffs were very friendly. We all enjoyed little tea break here.

We are regular customers at The Drawing Room and recently celebrated our birthdays there — my 90th and my husband’s 92nd. What a delightful place to eat. The hospitality is paramount. Excellent food whatever you choose is delicous. The manager Justine is a charming welcoming young woman. I can't recommend 'The drawing room highly enough!

Lovely brunch with my (very fussy) Mum, as always. We are regular visitors to this wonderful place… the best coffee anywhere, mushrooms on toast which are SO delicious and - what makes the place stand out - the warmest of welcomes. Justine and her team are beyond excellent!

Our favourite please to breakfast / brunch / lunch! Today I honestly had the nicest pot of tea and nicest cheese toastie I have ever had!! Something simple doesn’t seem to be in other places with drinks and food turning up luke warm and uninspiring but they always get it spot on at the Drawing Room. Everything is delicious and hot! Service is unbeatable, always delivered with warmth and a smile. They can never do enough for you. The ambience is so comforting and cosy. It is small but they can always fit you in. It’s our favourite place to go by far and I would highly recommend a visit!

Popped in for some late lunch, food was freshly made, looked and tasted delicious.

Another lovely breakfast at our favourite place. The freshly cooked pancakes are my mums favourite, and the full English was delicious too. We have been coming here for years and the friendly service from Justine and all her staff is what makes the drawing rooms. Whenever it’s a family members birthday they always want to celebrate it at the drawing rooms. Thank you for always looking after your customers so well.

Always a warm welcome, even when busy. Lovely cakes & gorgeous china. I sometimes come with my toddler & I particularly appreciate how lovely and fun the chinaware is for children too! And he’s always given an age-appropriate toy to play with whilst there which is a fab touch and keeps him busy. My only recommendation would be to have another vegan cake please :)

Visited the Drawing Room today for my birthday for afternoon tea. As a previous owner of my own tearoom I probably have slightly higher expectations than many people, I know when the scones or cakes are out of a box. But this exceeded my expectations. Lovely fresh home baked produce, so fresh the scones warm out of the oven. Great selection of sandwiches, even though I'm a fussy eater, packed with tasty fillings and enough food we had to bring some home. The service was warm and attentive and the quirky, vintage decoration created the ambience of a by gone era. Highly recommend.

The place is absolutely amazing food and service wise. It is small so expect to sit very close to each other. They serve food and drink in old style crockery which makes the experience very unique. We go there often now as the salt beef is to die for... It's just really yummy. In fact so far I can't say I have had anything that I didn't like from there.

Now that’s what you call a coronation chicken sandwich,coffee,and a piece of coffee and walnut cake,absolutely superb.Beautifully presented,and so fresh. First visit for me,definitely be back there soon.In fact,we have already booked an afternoon tea there for a special occasion we have in October😃Just lovely😋

The Drawing Room is always most welcoming, whether on your own or with friend's. The cakes and toasted sandwiches are in a league of their own, a good selection of both. Friendly service always welcomed with a smile 😃.

My best friend Spanish Laura and Hubby David are regulars here and absolutely love the jacket potatoes which are hearty portions and I must say are Boombastic ..!! My baby Xavier and I met with Laura and David and absolutely loved the whole experience. The staff were super lovely and professional. I wanted to mention the following staff ..!! Joyful Justine is the owner who is super passionate and kind what a wonderful lady ..!! Caring Chloe the waitress was sweet and friendly. Marvellous Mia not only bakes the food but is also a waitress too ..!? Sensational Sabrina and Magical Marcia are superb chefs you are greeted with such warm smiles. Epic Evangalno who cleans does such a superb job Thank you to Marvellous Mia who bakes the cakes and serves customers you made me feel so very welcome whilst waiting for my friends. The food is classic English Fayre I had the cheese and onion toastie and the salmon salad. The owner she is so lovely Joyful Justine and she really went the extra mile for customer satisfaction. Even though it was my first visit I was made to feel extra special and at home. Xavier and I had such a warm welcome. I absolutely loved the decor with all the fine bone china cups / plates / mugs it was very well thought out. It was like stepping back in time going to my grandparents house I relished every moment here ..!! I must say the tiolet smelt so beautiful you wouldn’t event think you was in a tiolet. The whole place was spotlessly clean. Xavier and I also loved the big bear out the front and couldn’t resist our photo being taken. 1,000,000 % RECOMMENDED..!! My daughter and I went for lunch to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. We have enjoyed celebrating our birthdays here over the last few years. Great to have a candle in the cake and a celebratory song with all the staff joining in. The food is excellent here. Slightly higher cost than other locations but the quality and service sure make up for it.

Best tea room in London! Great for breakfast and lunch

Great food, amazing customer service welcomed at the door, and I love the decor and warm nature of the place.

A late breakfast today, so there was more space in the Drawing Room than I'm used to. I was greeted today by the owner and offered any eat in the house as the seats for 1/2 people were already occupied. My usual of a full English Breakfast arrived quickly with mushrooms, 2 x bacon, 1 sausage, 2 fried eggs, a jug of baked beans and well done granary toast (just how I like it done), and a large pot of tea in one of their ornate tea pots. I managed four cups from that pot! I shall return, often.

Amazing sandwich and cake left me happy (and stuffed!) The coffee atmosphere and staff were excellent. I was lucky to get in as people were queueing outside!

Lovely dining space, high quality ingredients perfectly cooked, helpful staff and excellent value.

Have visited many times over the years and its the best old fashioned style tea shop anywhere near here: Its so nice drinking out of bone china cups and always wondering what teapot your tea will come in this time. I have had various breakfast, lunches and cakes at different times and it has all been good and definitely somewhere I to suggest to others. Staff are also lovely ❤️ It does get busy though, so choose your visit times wisely.

Such a lovely spot - been a few times when in the area for work and me and my colleague love It. Super friendly service and such fresh ingredients - will visit whenever in the area. Highly recommend for a nice brunch / lunch spot - loads of choice too.

My dad visited today and is singing your praises. He says you provided the best toasted sandwich he’s ever had in his 77 years.

We stopped for a coffee and toast and could not believe the price. £3.95 for two pieces of plain sliced bread and then charged £3.60 for a little pot of marmalade to have with it. I’m sorry but I won’t be returning with those prices.

Friendly service, vibrant atmosphere and interesting selection of teapots. Great salt beef sandwich and a couple of celebs dining at the time too.

Cozy place with a great atmosphere, clean and tidy, you can breathe a little English air in this bar. The bathrooms are clean. Beautiful service plates, colorful and artistic. Staff friendly and always attentive to the needs of the customers. We went on a Tuesday, the food was quite fast. Buononil sandwich and cake, liked the salad as a side dish. In our bill was in the average. I recommend it.

Really lovely place to relax and have tea. Fantastic food with the ability to pick what you want. Salt beef sandwich was a winner. Service was really personal and warm.

My Mum popped in for a takeaway coffee on Saturday the cafe was packed. She ordered the coffee and waited. Mia who served was lovely My mum uses a walking stick and is a little wobbly Mia insisted on carrying the coffee to our car even though it was raining! Thank you Mia you are a kind caring person along with the rest of the drawing room team.

Unfortunately i think we went at one of the busiest times. Packed & very noisy. Lovely food & staff are great . Would go again, but at a different time

Went here today as a rite of passage with my lovely driving instructor. It's a beautiful tea shop with a lovely history. Fantastic food and drinks and the staff are wonderful!

The food is really good but they cannot cope with the amount of orders. We did not even get served all together. We have waited in excess of half an hour twice and that is just lunch. Such a shame as it has put us off going back.

Beyond impressed with the service in this place. I didn't realise until the server asked that my friend is actually allergic to gluten, rather than just intolerant. Her sandwich took longer to come out than my salad because everything was prepared fresh and away from the other food. The toast had to be grilled on the same toaster as the rest of the food, but the chef brought it out himself and explained that he'd put baking paper either side so it wasn't contaminated. Her comment was "this has to be the nicest toasted sandwich I've ever had". Amazing care taken to keep her safe, I'd give them 17 stars if I could! Massive thank you to everyone involved! Sorry, too late for photos - we've eaten it all!!!!

I don't often dine alone in public. I found the waitresses very friendly & helpful. It helped me feel relaxed. Food was very good. I shall definitely be returning!! Thank you.

Food is always well executed. The prices are the best prices compared with all the other similar establishments in the area, everything is fresh and made to order ( obviously not the cakes). Talking of cake, always a wonderful selection and so so gooooood - if you have a sweet tooth - and a hefty portion. Service is polite, friendly and with a smile. They bend over backwards to fit you in, if they are really busy, which is very often. Afternoon tea is a real treat, but you need to pre book, which is fine. Tastefully and interestingly decorated. The window and inside decor changes for seasons and calendar events, Xmas is so well - Christmassy! And the staff are so very very kind and patient with one elderly member of our family who can hardly walk and has dementia. It’s my favourite place to eat

After spending £75 on three cream tea's, which included a couple of sandwiches, I was disgusted that I was charged for a coffee I had during the lunch. The place has far too many tables which makes it uncomfortable. The food was very average and the tea very weak, hence I ordered a coffee which wasn't much better. The toasted sandwiches looked nice but I won't be returning for the above reasons.

A really lovely little find of a cafe. Quirky decor, delicious food and great service. I popped in on a Friday at 2pm-it was very busy but the food and the service made up for a bit of a wait to be served. Portion sizes were generous and the food was freshly prepared and the servers were lovely.

Gorgeous place for tea and cakes

First visit. Didn't want the "Costa experience" so I thought I'd try this place opposite. Enjoyed a nice breakfast and a cup of coffee. The staff couldn't be friendlier. I'll be back !

This café restaurant is absolutely fabulous , the food the owner the ambiance absolutely delightful. One been several times and never been disappointed. Would highly recommend

Me and my daughter  were sitting in this small delightful Tea Room this morning and what a find! We were greeted by the lovely owner who made us so welcome. An array of homemade fayre tempting our taste buds, especially the homemade cakes  that are baked fresh every morning. The food was scrumptious and the coffee well made. The atmosphere was truly wonderful. It was like everyone were friends. Each table boasted a mishmash of beautiful antique cups and saucers and the walls were adorned with black and white photos of patrons in years gone by, and for those who reach 90 years of age, their photos take pride of place too. You feel enveloped in a vail of nostalgia. My Mum would have loved it and memories whirled. I felt happy and content. Sitting at the table at the side of us were two elderly ladies 97 year old Dorothy and 87 year old Anne. They are  frequent visitors and conversation soon sparked. Both me and my daughter felt very comfortable chatting with them, such lovely ladies who came from that great generation of my Mum and Dad, how honoured we felt to talking with them. They've been friends for 60s years. I took a few photos of the place because I was really taken by it. I asked Dorothy and Anne if they would allow me to take a photo of them together and they were pleasantly surprised saying, "well this hasn't happened to us before'. I took the photo and sent it to Anne. They were delighted. Now they have a memory too. Their husbands died within a year of each other, so it's nice that these lovely ladies still have each other. It was a privilege to have met them and I bet they have some great stories to tell. The simple things in life can bring the greatest pleasure

Absolutely appalled at some of the staff I witnessed bulling a young girl! (The young girl also works in the shop)This place needs to take a serious look at their staff members! And get rid of those cowards who are verbally abusing staff and I witnessed one of them purposely spill HOT coffee on this young girl aswell! Absolutely disgusting

We are regular visitors to this wonderful place and chose it to celebrate my elderly Mum’s birthday. Everything was perfect - the food, of course, (as always) but also the way we were looked after and the extra little touches which made it so special. The children were catered for brilliantly and the birthday cake was to die for :) Justine and her team are amazing!

Popped in for two take away coffees. Staff very polite and friendly. Efficient service and one of the best lattes I’ve tasted in a long while. Well worth a visit .

A friend coming over from Surrey fancied an afternoon tea to help me celebrate my birthday. There was no hesitation in choosing the best afternoon tea this side of the Thames. I booked; we came; we ate - boy, did we eat! Fantastic fresh produce - neat varied sandwiches; warm fresh scones; home-made cake. (I can recommend the plum cake in particular.) Of course we needed a doggie bag - and an afternoon nap! Brilliant. Thank you for making this a special occasion

I’ve been to the Drawing Room on many occasions, and a I’ve always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The food is always fresh and well presented and just that bit different from other places. Tea is served in quirky teapots, I’ve never had the same one twice! I highly recommend a visit, as you always get that personal touch. It’s quite a small café, so it is often full,but I think that if it were bigger it wouldn’t be the personal and original place that it is now. Oh, and last but not least, the cakes are amazing! Generous portions, and not the same old choice as everywhere else.

We were met by the lovely Justine, who showed us to a table. The Drawing Room has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu had an amazing range of food, all of which looked and smelt fabulous. The staff were attentive and very helpful. My friend had said I would love it and she was right! The food was delicious and came out very well presented. We were so full we had to get the freshly baked cakes to take away. A truly lovely lunch and even more lovely the Coffee and walnut cake and Chocolate brownies! Thank you 😊

This place is divine! It's always packed and not hard to see why. Generous portions, home made cakes and smiley staff who seem to love their work. The drawing room is really the only reason to visit locksbottom unless you live there. 😆

Great coffee, excelent main and lovley cake! The place was buzzing and busy when we went for lunch. Service was quick and all the staff were very friendly. There was also a fantastic selection of cakes, something for everyone.

Very disappointed with my afternoon tea which my husband picked up today, it cost me £84 for something I could have made easily myself for far less money. I rang to discuss it with Justine but we agreed to disagree and then found out that the jam was forgotten and also the Teapigs tea bags! My husband was also left outside waiting for 20 minutes as they forgot to bring it out to him while he was waiting in Sainsburys car park in the rain! Certainly will never go back there again, nor will I recommend🤨

Popped into the Drawing Room for breakfast. The owner always greets customers with a wide warm smile and remains attentive during your time there. This time I had their full English breakfast with granary toast. This was very good with a sausage bacon mushrooms, a fried egg and baked beans. This includes tea. All of this served on elegant crockery, cup, teapot and a jug for the baked beans so you can decide where and what amounts to use them. The overriding impression I have from my visit is the care of the owner to make everything just right, her welcoming nature and enjoyment in serving her customers. It is no surprise that the Drawing Room remains busy.

I was bought an afternoon tea experience as a gift for my birthday and it didn’t disappoint. I have been to many different afternoon teas including many of the London hotels and spas but this is the best by far. When booking, the lady asked if there were any dietary requirements and I was called a couple of days before just to confirm what I could eat. Upon arrival, we were shown to our table by a friendly lady who welcomed us and advised that we could have unlimited tea and coffee and all of the cakes had been made freshly that day. We were given pretty bone China tea, saucer and plates and beautiful teapots all with a unique design. The sandwiches were lovely and the fillings very plentiful, there were 5 or 6 different varieties and all of them were so tasty. The plain and sultana scones were still warm and were served with clotted cream and jam and as well as these, we had macaroons, brownies, strawberries and huge pieces of Victoria sandwich and lemon drizzle cake….these were to die for! I will definitely be visiting again, the food and the service were first class and when I saw all the other food being served, I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu out!

A wonderful and unexpected find during a local hospital stay. The food is always fantastic, tasty cakes and delicious sandwiches. The staff are friendly and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Top quality service all round. Despite not living locally I’ve made the trip back to visit numerous times now and am always pleased I have!

Popped in for a quick bite for lunch and was stunned by how good the food was. Best cafe lunch I've ever had. Will definitely be returning. Really good price too, probably should've cost more considering how good it was!

Coffee and a slice of warm brownie with cream, delicious. Welcomed by Santa having come through the imitation snow, very festive. Staff friendly and smoothest coffee I've had in a while. I'll be back again in the new year. 12 months on, tried to book the Santa breakfast but oversubscribed and unsuccessful, a table of 8 in the drawing room is a big party, however we queued for the end of the session at 10:15 and got in then. Santa was still there and he visited all of the tables and spoke to the children, some were lucky enough to ring his bell. Breakfast was good, full English, and sausages and bacon good quality. Ny people tried to come in but unsuccessful in getting a table as we weren't the only ones who specifically turned up for Santa. A bit chaotic but the kids loved it and that was the important thing.
