I recently used cafe afloat to provide food for a birthday afternoon party for 80 people at Piston Gin. I highly highly recommend and off the back of this, I will make a regular visit to the cafe. Dave and the team really looked after us. The food was delicious, we got so many great comments on the food. Thank you Dave!

Outdoor seating in a pleasant canal.basin location. Good service - snacks and coffees were our order. Might be more difficult in colder weather, but they would still do coffee to go, and I'm told their hot rolls are also excellent

We have visited Cafe Afloat many times before and have always really enjoyed the sausage sandwich and coffee, I enjoyed the coffee, no complaints there, but today the sausage sandwich was disappointing. The bread was rather dry and sliced really thickly and there was butter on the bread! I don’t eat butter and I have never had a sausage sandwich with butter on before so did not expect to request no butter and the sausage was not as hot as usual. We don’t like dogs and we were completely surrounded by dogs. This is not something we would complain about but while we were eating our food a man arrived with a large Doberman which was barking aggressively and seemed difficult to control, probably because of the number of dogs around the cafe. The owner then commented on one of the other dogs to imply it was like a cat and the reason for his dog’s reaction. The man then proceeded to the Cafe Afloat and took the Doberman into the cafe and left it there barking loudly and walked back to his van and drove off! Having a big dog in a cafe where food is being prepared and served is not acceptable so unfortunately we will not be returning which is a shame as a visit to Cafe Afloat as part of a cycle or walk has always been very enjoyable.

Really disappointing experience the last two times we have visited. The food used to be great but not sure what’s happened, it seems they’ve put the prices up but the quality has gone down. Nice bacon but the sausages are really small and such poor quality, only made to look even worse due to the enormous slices of bread they serve it on. I actually went back to complain that they’d missed the sausages out of my sandwich but they pointed them out under the bacon, they’re literally that small I couldn’t see them. Agree with other comments regarding the brown sauce, really poor quality and had to wipe it off my sandwich it tasted that bad. Also had a can of pop which was served at room temperature. Sadly won’t be going again when there’s so many other good quality independent locals. EDIT: I visited Sunday 18/08 at 0930- I highly doubt you would have sold that many cans of pop so early. Well I would beg to differ regarding the meat being the best quality around. There are other local independent butchers who supply meat of a lot higher standard. Nothing to clear up, I won’t be wasting my money here again.

A wonderful setting not far from the locks into the canal basin, Cafe Afloat was a welcome find after walking along the riverside from Worcester town centre. This cafe, on a floating barge, has a good choice of food available to eat on the promenade alongside and offers drinks, cakes, ice creams, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and a good selection of hot food and specials. The staff are pleasant and the food is prepared in a timely manner. Reasonably priced, this is the perfect place to relax after a walk.

Feels a bit backwards to have a floating kitchen and then tables on the dock - experience would be a lot more fun the other way around! Thought the food was overcooked and being served in a cardboard tray was the final touch. Great pitch, baffling execution.

Just made our regular Sunday morning trip to Café Afloat with George the Dog. Fantastic experience as always and great atmosphere. Looked enviously at all the delicious breakfast food coming out but just enjoyed one of their great latte coffees - easily some of the best coffee in Worcester. Read the good reviews and decided to try this, but we were disappointed. Baked potatoes were expensive and very small with very small amounts of tuna mayo, and parts of them were so hard that they were impossible to cut with the wooden disposable knives. Not eaten here for a while. Used to love the bacon sandwiches but this time I noticed less bacon and the price had gone up. I know you have to make a living but at £18 for 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees I expect it to be good. And the brown sauce is ghastly, I had to wipe it off with my serviette, definitely a cheaper brand, too sweet. Service slow, even though not that busy. Sadly I think it is probably my last visit.

stopped by after spotting on our last walk along the basen but the last time it was raining and cold and they were just closing. we decided to stop for a drink and a sandwich as we hadnt eaten all day. we ordered 2 cheese tosties and a BLT and as usual given a choice between white or granery bread. we also had 2 teas and a apple juice. the food arrived pretty quick considering it is all made fresh. the bread was proper bread and not a cheep loaf that you get in a fair few places. the toasties had plenty of cheese and the BLT was filled thick. the bacon also tasted like it was good quality and not just the cheep cash and carry bulk buy pack used in a fair few cafes one thing i would say is the price board needs a little update as the apple juice was listed as being £1.50 but we were charged £2 (but i understand with the cost of living it is not always easy to update the boards) but i will say for the price it was a decent size glass over all if we walk that far up the river from town again (and the weather is on the nice side ) then we will defo stop by for a drink

Visit here on a semi regular basis and enjoy its relaxed atmosphere. Food and drink always fresh and service quick and well organised. Prices are OK, not cheap but not extortionate. The 4 star rating for the atmosphere is because its a favourite venue for dog walkers, which is fine, but some dog owners seem to think we all love their dogs as much as they do. When the dogs are well trained and behaved, it's all good, but it's irritating when the dogs are either left to wander, sniffing around your table, or barking and whining at other dogs. I'm not a dog hater, I just dislike untrained owners!

Atmosphere was friendly enough, the cafe seemed busy and welcoming. The food, however, was absolutely DIABOLICAL. The worst of the 'not so goods'. We ordered the main breakfast x 2 - the food was the cheapest edible items you can buy from the supermarket (or similar), you can live on it, I guess... But the reason I wouldn't eat mine was that it was almost dangerously UNDERCOOKED - fried eggs were runny and clear in the centre, sausages were floppy, luke warm and a strange colour, the grilled tomato was raw in the centre and cold. They also forgot items from the breakfast itself (the baked beans) so they had to be bought to us separately, and in the case of another customer next to us, he had to wait for them to be cooked up for him. I was asked if I'd like milk with my £3.50 mug of lemon and ginger tea, and they seemed to be a little unclear about table numbers. We have left with dodgy bellies, a distinct odour of grease all about our clothes and hair, and £22 lighter.
