Cabin Cafe in Worcester

I visited this cafe today for a coffee and sausage bap, £9.35. I paid with a ten pound note and got no change. My coffee was delivered, followed later by my bap. I then questioned the price with waitress and said that I hadn't received my change. She came back saying 'Heaven forbid I forgot your 65 pence'. Not that this was a real issue, but whether she thought it was her way of a joke came over as being sarcastic. The coffee was average at best and the sausage bap, less so. Typical microwave food, so hot it was tasteless with no colour to look that it was cooked. Given the price, poor service, tasteless food and additional cost to park they won't get my custom again. I'd rather use the cafe opposite who know how to treat customers how they like to be treated!

Popped in for lunch today and sat outside in the sun, gorgeous day. We had a ham salad bowl, homemade coleslaw, tasty salad and bread - wonderful my husband declared. I had roasted veg baguette and it was amazing. Would love to know what veg exactly were in it as I'd replicate it at home if possible. The side salad was soooo tasty too. Was truly scrummy. We did pop in after we'd given empty plates back to thank the ladies working hard in the kitchen. Highly recommend, was such a tasty lunch. Thankyou ladies

Just had a pasta salad box. Freshly done and full to the brim. Very tasty and great price. Will defo be back. Lisa is ok also 🤣

Love cafe right near the beach with outside seating. Menu was varied enough to easily find something we wanted and fair price. Food came quickly and tasted good. It is also dog friendly and they sell natural dog chews to give your dog something whilst you eat.

As we were staying in Crackington Haven we took a stroll to the beach & were drawn to The Cabin by the board outside advertising Cream Tea for Two £8. 50 . When in Cornwall or Devon a cream tea is normally a given . Before arriving at the till I checked the menu again - cream tea for two- 2 scones (plain or fruit) clotted cream & jam and a pot of tea. I ordered a cream tea for two and was asked if I wanted additional tea, I queried why this would be necessary to be told the pot of tea was only for 1 person. I questioned this & pointed out the wording on both the menu and the board outside the premises. It was just repeated that the tea was only enough for 1 person. I very begrudgingly paid an additional £3.00 in order that the pot of tea was sufficient for 2 people. The scones themselves were very disappointing, more bread like than crumbly and buttery . I do feel that both the board outside and the menu should either state pot of tea for 1, otherwise, I'm afraid, it is false advertising. Really really disappointing .

Great place to relax and have a drink and a bite to eat, had the pork belly baguette with salad which was excellent .if you are in the area give them a try ,you won't be disappointed .really friendly and good food and reasonably priced, we loved it here

Nice cafe right next to the beach at Crackington Haven. Great food and service. Lovely to sit outside and admire the views while you're eating. The belly pork baguette and chutney is recommended. Also dog friendly and free WiFi.

Next to the beach, dogs welcome. Toilets opposite and dog poo bin. Car park next to café.

Edit May 2024 The new waitress "XL" is so incredibly rude. She deserves an award. And a special mention in this review. The ice cream is amazing. Cakes are delicious. But I am still giving them two stars because they are just not nice. And I mean not nice. You will have better food and much better service at the small cafe right on the other side of the river.

Great local food, locally produced, well cooked, great menu. What more can you say! And the price is really good as well . Are we going back, always!

This place was the best find of our short stay in North Cornwall. Out of season, yet still open - we returned on 2 occasions in 5 days. The best and crispiest veggie pasty of the week, fabulous belly pork baguette WITH CRACKLING! And both veggie and meat versions of full cooked breakfast were delicious. Not only that but superbly friendly. The staff, and the locals. We were given great tips on where to go, and how to get there safely. Everyone had time for us. Dog freindly. Clean public toilets nearby. Highly recommended.

Lovely place to sit and have a light lunch. I enjoyed my tasty beef burger with some salad. All food was fresh and tasty. This was my 2nd visit.

Lisa has always got a smile on her face and the best location and food, she has a large variety of food from full breakfast In a tray to hot and Cold sandwiches on fresh bread. Hot and cold drink, chrisps and chocolate bars also available.

Our go to lunch spot when staying nearby, the other half loves the Moroccan Chickpea soup, I especially like the pork belly and green bean chutney baguette (the pork crackling side is superb), also the carrot cake is the best I have tried.

We had the most amazing impromtu lunch here. We ordered the pork belly baguette and chilli jacket potato. We are pork belly snobs and must say it is one of the best we have ever eaten! Generous portion, and even the side salad was bursting with flavour. We don’t normally bother to write reviews but felt we must!

Disappointing that in such an amazing location that it was not possible to have a little better quality food served by polite and welcoming staff. I got the impression that they hate tourists.

This was a welcome stop after a early start to the day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was delicious.

Came out in tears. Belittled & humiliated. No customer service skill whatsoever. Staff make a scene out of nothing. Absolutely diabolical experience. NEVER would I visit here again in my life.

First of all the location is amazing. Entitled, rude staff let down the whole experience. Do yourself a favor and try the other cafe furthest from the public toilets. Not a hair net or glove in sight. The server had the customer service and communication skills of a rabid dog. Hopefully the public will vote with their feet so someone else can give this location a try.

Ordered 4 hot drinks. Took 28 minutes to arrive and not busy. Couple who ordered food and drinks after us received their order, ate and left before our drinks arrived - after being prompted. No apologies, when the drinks did arrive they were placed down, half the tea lost as the table was uneven, no apology or offer to replace. Coffees were lukewarm at best as was tea. Staff carried personal mobiles on back pockets. Not a professional outfit. Disappointing.

Very slow service, nearly 30 minutes to make 4 drinks. Tea was slopped over the table and no apology from the lady serving. All the correct things were asked by the server but without any feeling or intent, very poor overall

Very reasonable price and friendly staff well worth a visit. The full breakfast is delicious and the price is very reasonable

Staff very unhelpful,not interested in what we wanted, food overpriced and not good, pasties very hard ,almost unedable,coffe £3 for very small cup barely warm ,all in all a complete waste of moneyshal not be reporting the experience.

We wanted a coffee so stopped in and we wish we didn’t, the coffee wasn’t hot just warm and the it tasted terrible. Very disappointed

Excellent cafe right by the coast. Called in for snack lunch, warmed sausage roll with brilliant side salad garnish, with olives😌. Then, after walk part 2, mug of tea plus incredible ginger and walnut creation with cream! Oh my. Can't wait for returning on New Year's Day. 👍😊

Good place for lunch the pork baguette was lovely 😋 One item to mention is why don't you use the table numbers when people ordering? You then know exactly where the food has to go rather than shouting out names from inside when we were outside. You're making it harder for yourselves.

We hiked down from our campsite and had lunch here. The specials included jacket potato with chilli so we both had that with added cheese. It took ages to arrive but once it did it was delicious. It came with a side salad and coleslaw. The other jacket potato fillings were gluten free so I didn't check with this one. Possibly not. If I had the room I would have tried one of their gluten free cakes because they looked fab. Potato was too nice to leave any room for afters 🤣🤣

Expensive and not worth the 20 min wait for two hot drinks. The size of coffee was a joke, didn't know cups can come this tiny. Would not even attempt food after this experience as looked very expensive.

What a relief that we found this place! We have food intolerances...wheat, dairy, and fructose AND we're vegan! We went for a day at the beach and I decided, as usual, to try my usually fruitless search to see if we could eat out...instead of our coldbox sandwhiches!!! These people were amazing. We had jacket potatoes with an incredibly delicious vege chilli, that was just the right amount of heat for me and two children. We also had a jacket with slow roasted veg...how did she get it to taste so good? Usually we don't have choices. Usually, when we go out, the food is tastless or like cardboard. But this was our lucky day. I would be pleased to receive these meals in any restaurant, not 'just' a beachside cafe. It was so good that we decided to have another 'beach day' there 2 days later and enjoyed another delicious meal (variation on the above). They also have other straight vegan options and straight GF options. There were even options for vegan icecream! And we can highly recommend the Avo-go-go smoothie. On top of all that, the staff were really happy to help and the cafe was open and airy, and a pleasure to sit in, even in such high heat. VERY highly recommend The Cabin Cafe.

Tried to get takeaway. Super busy, waited 30 mins for Crab salad. Other orders came first despite ordering later. On asking, kitchen said something about having to clean before preparing it. Ok, but tell people when ordering it takes longer! Asked for money back, rudely told to go and get sunstroke then.

Overpriced, filthy toilets, and slow service

Well wanted to treat my friend as she was on holiday so we decided to visit crackington haven We was hungry so decided to visit The cabin cafe and how disappointing we was, i ordered the burger and it had a funny taste with a manky oily salad 🥗 no chips 😐 My friend being hopeful ordered a bacon 🥓 and egg 🥚 roll with an (JOKE) Ice 🧊 Coffee ☕️ which turned out a small glass of milk with some brown liquid on top and ice cubes lol 😆 so word of warning ⚠️ DONT ORDER ICE COFFEE AS THEY HAVENT A CLUE RUINED OUR DAY OUT

Had the most wonderful breakfast here this morning. Peppered mushrooms, fantastic little crispy taters, beans, full grilled tomatoe, excellent sausage, thick bacon, egg and toast - all with a fantastic view. Staff attentive and polite.

Ray and I called into this super little cafe this afternoon, after a bracing walk on the beach at Crackington, for a coffee and some cake. We were given a really warm welcome and delighted to see so many gluten free options ( we settled for a slice of the chocolate brownie each). Both the coffee and the brownie were delicious ( the outlook to the beach is also beautiful). We enjoyed our visit so much that we will be going back again soon and it's wonderful to know that the cafe is open every day, apart from Christmas day to look after visitors. On a cold winters day nothing lovelier than to be assured there is somewhere warm and welcoming with a good choice of food and drinks, after spending time on the beach. Very Highly recommended.

Wonderful cooked breakfast that set us up for a day of walking the South West Coast Path. The rest of the menu looked good too. Spotless inside and nice service too. Highly recommended.

Stopped off here last week and had an excellent afternoon tea with home cakes, very pleasant and professional staff, great outside seating area with wonderful views. Highly reccomended.

The cafe serves food until 4pm, which is helpful. Both the vegetable pasty and the mackerel salad was great. Service was friendly.

Maybe we were there at a bad time, but it was chaos. I went to order and was told they weren't serving food (despite servers walking past with plates of food) because one of the staff had to go off in a hurry. As I was waiting at the desk I spotted one of the staff in the kitchen pick a couple of bits off a salad intended for a customer and eat them. It turned out they actually had four pasties left, so we had two. The cheese and onion pasty was nice, but my vegetable pasty was awful, literally some sliced vegetables baked in pastry, no sauce and no seasoning. By far the worst pasty I've ever had. In Cornwall.

Used to enjoy going to The Cabin every time we visited Cornwall... Not sure what changed. Service staff is rude, placed an order for food, waited 25 min. Went back in to check on the order and when someone eventually decided to assist me ( Empty shop and no one would make eye contact with me) I was told they close on 5 min and I can have it as a take away... Asked for a refund and went to the Beach Hut instead..

Honestly so underwhelmed, ordered the steak pasty, right off the bat I was overcharged 10p but for a good pasty I'd let that slide, the steak portion was virtually non existent, exterior nice and crisp but interior just a slimy unappetising consistency, likely on account of the clumsy over generous portion of unseasoned onion, little to no flavour, first thing in the morning so really no good excuse, just go across the road to the lil ice cream shop, far tastier and they remembered the salt and pepper, always a bonus

Visited 170621. Really lovely place, really lovely food. If it wasn't for one member of staff who wasn't wearing her visor AT ALL during the time we were there (it was constantly perched on her head 🙄), including preparing and then serving drinks & food to tables, we would have given 5 stars. This member of staff was within the age bracket who would not yet be vaccinated and would be the highest transmitters. Extremely disappointing, especially as my wife has a serious underlying, terminal health condition. Still, we've all got to die at some point!!

Just awesome, freshly grilled fish and steak from the real charcoal bbq out the front, wonderful veg and salads, table on the terrace by the beach in the sun. Super welcoming and friendly staff who served us even though they were about to close. Highly recommended. We found it by chance and will be back.

Had high expectations, but was very disappointed by their cream tea. Specifically, the scone, which tasted more like a bread roll than a buttery crumbly bundle of goodness. Everything else about the place was good (including the jam, clotted cream and hot choc drinks). Maybe we got a bad couple of scones?

Delicious food, drinks and an impressive view!

The Salmonella café (as its known locally) Greasy, fatty junk food or very sugary muck. If you ask for vegatarian or gluten\dairy free ; that horrible fat lady might swear or tell you, that your child's medical condition is a 'fad". No proper disabled entrance, as the door needs to be held open. Foul tempered fat lady will shout and swear. Very poor hygiene. Best avoided at all costs.

Amazing bbq. My friend and I had the sirloin steak and her son had the cheese burger. Roasted new potatoes and veg came with our meal. Very relaxed atmosphere and the food was cooked to perfection. With one of the most stunning settings every.

Great food with local crab meals and homemade specials. Highly recommended.

Love the setting. Great place for breakfast. We even had the crab sandwich as take away and took it up the steep cliff for lunch.

Best food for miles fab burger and great coffee good friendly service

What a great disappointment this place is. No children's menu. Quality of food was poor and over priced. Sausage rolls were over cooked and over spiced. The pasty was made with cheap grisly cuts of meat that did not taste nice. Won't be going back there again !

Lovely cafe, great home cooked and freshly prepared food. Crab sandwiches and soup are particular favourites! Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Beautiful setting. Can't recommend enough.

Excellent soup and bread and espresso - the three most perfect foods. This along with lovely customer service and an amazing view made for a day by the sea not to be forgotten.
