Had an amazing evening at The Green Dragon. I was lucky enough to book accommodation and it's stunning. This, alongside a beautiful steak, large selection of ale and a warm welcome. Can't wait till I'm back in the area so I can stay again! Thanks for having me.

I have just had a superb Sunday Lunch, slightly pink roast beef, crispy roast potatoes and really tasty seasonal vegetables. I didn't have room for one of their traditional puddings, although I must say that the sticky toffee pudding looked particularly good. As an added bonus they serve a wide range of real ales and ciders. I will certainly be making a return visit very soon to try out their homemade pies, which I am told are equally good. This is a beautiful, old fashioned pub with flags on the floor and a roaring log fire. The staff are friendly and efficient, what more could you want?

A lovely welcome from John and his team. It was Wednesday night so Pizza night. Beware the American Hot.... it lives up to its name. The pizza's are excellent. The beer is well kept and the whole pub creates a welcoming atomosphere for anyone who crosses the threshold. A community pub where the beer is friendly.

This was 'our' local when we stayed in a holiday cottage nearby. It was very much a local pub too, but the staff could not have been more welcoming when we walked in without booking, although the pub was very busy for a Wednesday evening. It was pizza night and the home made pizzas from a proper pizza oven were amazing. There were 6 in our party ranging from 3 to 68 and we were all happy with our food. Proper beer too. The prices were reasonable too.

Old style pub, lovely sight of locals at the bar in good cheer, whilst retaining a welcoming atmosphere. Owner/chef? Was friendly and amenable even when I changed booking last minute when the person I was meant to be dining with cancelled on me. I dined alone rather than cancelling. And I’m very glad I did. Friendly staff, Brilliant Sunday lunch, pink beef, crispy potatoes and the Yorkshire pudding…….bought back memories of my mums famous yorkies, never been matched before…..so high praise indeed! Having been to the nearby Hop Pocket we were recommended The Green Dragon for our evening meal. Its a fab old building with low beams, an amazing open fire in the bar and lots of log burners in other rooms to give the place a lovely feel to it. The Rump steak was really good, cooked as ordered and the trimmings with it were lovely too, the other half had the homemade Fish Pie and siad it was one of the best she had tasted. The staff woere friendly and helpful although the barmaid was a little weird, we thought she was out of the Adams Family at first sight! We would happily return when we are next in the area.

Four of us booked for Sunday lunch having been recommended to try this lovely pub. We were so glad we did! Lots of beams, roaring fire, friendly landlord - nothing pretentious here, just excellent service, delicious food and good choice of drinks. Beef and pork were 'melt in the mouth' with generous portions of perfect veg. Desserts (we had apple pie, sticky toffee pud and waffle) were all tasty and plentiful. The building is tucked away behind another pub, so not easily visible from the road, but well worth seeking out. Separate car park about 50 yards away.

Hosts are lovely but they need to discourage this. Plenty of space to move those men blocking the bar.Good wines beers and cider. Very good food. Also sometimes there can be too many dogs in pub. Atmosphere was friendly enough, the cafe seemed busy and welcoming. The food, however, was absolutely DIABOLICAL. The worst of the 'not so goods'. We ordered the main breakfast x 2 - the food was the cheapest edible items you can buy from the supermarket (or similar), you can live on it, I guess... But the reason I wouldn't eat mine was that it was almost dangerously UNDERCOOKED - fried eggs were runny and clear in the centre, sausages were floppy, luke warm and a strange colour, the grilled tomato was raw in the centre and cold. They also forgot items from the breakfast itself (the baked beans) so they had to be bought to us separately, and in the case of another customer next to us, he had to wait for them to be cooked up for him. I was asked if I'd like milk with my £3.50 mug of lemon and ginger tea, and they seemed to be a little unclear about table numbers. We have left with dodgy bellies, a distinct odour of grease all about our clothes and hair, and £22 lighter.
