Without a doubt THE BEST place I have ever eaten at! The food was absolutely outstanding and the staff were so accommodating and polite. It was a last minute booking after travelling for 3 hours and they had space for 2 adults and 3 children. They accommodated my vegetarian daughters meal also. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. I would 100% travel down to Blackpool again just to eat here. Thank you all at Rigby's Farmhouse for making my husbands birthday even more special!

Lovely Sunday lunch , fresh home cooked food good portion size. Nice glass of red wine. Good service , staff polite and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit.

We've been to Rugby's a few times over the years. The food is high quality, the portions are very generous indeed and unusually nowadays,veg and potatoes are included in the price. The staff are friendly and very efficient and you do get excellent value for your hard earned money.

Needs updating no hot water in toilets very 70s décor drinks prices very high food poor small portions under cooked beef ie bloody will not return

Food is lovely and plentyful. Absolutely no atmosphere and no background music. One member of staff was decent, the other two were useless and need customer service training. Would recommend for the food.

Just back from an outstanding Xmas Day Lunch, great friendly welcome from all members of staff,during the very well prepared meal. Probably the best piece of fillet steak I have had in many many years,all the food was served piping hot, with minimal delay on an obviously busy day. A credit to the management.

Xmas Eve - We have just been for a Christmas Eve festive Dinner. To sum up we will not be going again. The food was nice but the atmosphere and preparation left a lot to be desired. Empty quiet rooms with no Xmas music playing. Our table was in a dark corner and when we looked all the lights on the window sill and the table hadn’t been turned on!! You wouldn’t expect to have to find plugs and battery switches and turn your own lights on at the table. Staff were slow setting tables around you which was not really acceptable Have set sittings at Xmas to make the experience better !! The tables were set up in a way the waitresses couldn’t serve your dinner, she was passing plates to you and you had to pass them back to clear the table. Also the tables beside were literally on top of your table. The decor had so much potential but was lacking a lot. You did feel like the courses were being rushed too, as soon as one was cleared you had to the next delivered, no 5 mins to let one course settle. All in all it was nice not to cook but we will go somewhere else next time.

This place was recommended to us by a mechanic who serviced our car about 6 months ago but we never went ! At a loss where to go for a Sunday birthday dinner/lunch I booked a table. I was not disappointed, the atmosphere is laid back old school but very stress free. THE FOOD was superb, and service was excellent. We will be going back again.

Having been to Rigbys before and had excellant food and good portions, despite it being very busy. The only downside was when a couple arrived with a huge rottviler but were shown into another dining area, which allthough i thought was wrong to bring a dog into a resturant i thought ok one room for dogs, but still unhygenic. We booked early because it being a saturday night for my 75th birthday. We arrived at 6.15 to a desserted resturant, not good, we sat in the bar and ordered pre dinner drinks and looked at the menu. Then an elderly couple arrived with a very old lab, having just walked across the car park in the rain it had the smell of old wet dog, get us in the resturant away from this i thought. The waitress then showed us to our table in the lean to attached to the farmhouse, where 4 or 5 tables were set, next to us a table for 2, oh oh were going to get the dog next to us. The elderly couple complete with smelly dog were placed next to us, NOW if you want to eat a £28 steak meal next to a smelly dog then Rigbys is the place for you, but the best is yet to come, get ready. Another couple arrive with a cross poodle, where i am sat in the lean to i have a perfect view of the bar, the waitress then strokes the dog talks to the couple and then strokes the dog again, then goes behind the bar and serves three drinks to the table opposite us, unbelievable, no, because after serving the drinks she then goes back strokes and fusses the dog again then without washing her hands she goes into the kitchen for food and serves it. At this point my wife is begging me not to kick off. The meal arrives via unwashed doggy hands and my pidgeon breast is trying its best to look like a chicken breast, more meat on a butchers pencil springs to mind, the portions were small, after the meal sorry fiasco we were both still hungry. As soon as the meal/fiasco was over we went back into the bar where the wife asked for the bill, £48 was paid and we could not get out of the door quick enough never to return. I now know why it was desserted, it's gone downhill faster than Santa's sleigh.

First visit, but it definitely won't be the last. Loved every every thing. Friendly staff, good service, a lovely atmosphere, and amazing food.

Visited Friday night. This is a place where you come for a relaxing meal, locally sourced food which tastes amazing and leave waddling out the door. Especially if you have the mixed grill! Our 3rd visit or 4th? But will return and highly recommend. Not open every night. So ring to check and book.

Partly due to Covid, it is many years since we last dined at Rigbys. Well, we weren’t disappointed, and there is no reason to travel further for a delicious Sunday lunch, with a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian main meals, plus various starters and desserts, all at an affordable price. Service was friendly and they have a huge choice of gins and other spirits, and a number of different beers. We will once again become happy regulars. Yes, the restaurant isn’t modern, but it is a farmhouse! You will not be disappointed.

Great place for a meal with family and friends

What a fantastic meal!! I ordered the Lamb Shank and it was cooked to perfection. The sides you get alongside your meal are fantastic, so much variety! Looking forward to my next visit!

Always a pleasure visiting this place. What they do, they do exceptionally well. Great sized portions, the Sunday roasts are always fabulous, I'm personally not a meat eater but there is always a stunning veggie option but let's face it, it is a farmhouse resturant so they are mostly famous for Great quality meat. Would happily recommend to everyone....oh and make sure to save room for pud because their bakewell tart is out of this world! 👌

There are clearly many people who enjoy this restaurant but not for us. The food was a poor standard, something that would have been standard fare in the 1970's. It felt that everything came out of a packet or a tin and was probably the most disappointing meal that I have eaten out in a long time. The staff were very friendly and as I stated above there are clearly many people who enjoy this restaurant as it was busy on this Sunday lunchtime.

Amazing place when you go in there's a wall shelved and full of every kind of gin you can amagine a gentle talks about them then took a drink order I asked for a glass off wine merlot he returned with a bottle and filled my glass to the brim! The food my God, tiny dining room five of us everyone having Meat another table sitting six plates full of meat. Absolute delicious had to ask for doggy bags. Their were chips and veg as well. Can't wait to go again

Old school, 1980s decor. Just like grans House. Great traditional Sunday roast. Great value for money. Made to feel like your visiting family. Not for fans of trendy interior designers! A real hidden gem. Unique.

Not been here for years ,had the giant mixed grill and wife had risotto we really enjoyed it cooked to perfection ,staff friendly and looked after doggies who were allowed into the conservatory with us ,

Young girls don’t speak. Soup is definitely not home made. Stood in dog Pooh in the back yard. Microwaved food and the Brie wedges were out of a box. Absolutely not worth the money! Wish I’d have stayed at home!

This place tickles the taste buds and is worth a visit. You will need to book a table before visiting to ensure that you get a table. It is very popular and sometimes not everything on the specials board will be available to order. The roast beef is excellent well cooked and succulent. The roast potatoes are also very good and will make me up my game in making them. A good selection of vegetables also with the meal. Children can also eat here with half portions available, perhaps for a growing child you might want to go for the adult portion instead. The pudding selection is also good and o can highly recommend the cheesecake if it available on your visit. Staff still following covid safety and it felt comfortable to eat and dine here. Staff friendly and professional.

I love this place that we came upon by chance... the character, the history. The building just keeps on giving. A limited menu but everything was prepared well and quite tasty. The ambience is very pleasant, and the staff are on the ball. Keep up the good work guys

I would just like to thank you for an amazing meal tonight. I would go so far as to say it was one of the best meals we have had out....the prawn cocktail was just fantastic, and the steaks just wow, lots of lovely fresh vegetables too. The staff were lovely and attentive, service was perfect....I can’t say anything negative at all...except please don’t change, we will be back as a regular customer. Diane

What a little gem, found by accident looking for a night in the camper. Ian the host was really friendly the food was fantastic and the staff really accommodating. Highly recommended food food and a bonus allowing campervans.

I've been going to Rigby's for nearly 20 years. The food is excellent, the cook is amazing, and you won't find a better steak any where. The service is great and very friendly. A nice relaxing place to visit, thanks! :)

Great place. We stumbled across Rigby’s and what a find. Staff are so friendly. Food amazing and plenty of it. The beef on the Sunday lunch was fab, plenty of veg, couldn’t eat the bread rolls that came with the meals. Gin selection unbelievable and Ian the owner suggested a gin for me to try, it was just like drinking a black jack sweet. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Stayed here last night in campervan very friendly and helpful staff the food is excellent and don't forget to try the gins with a peaceful night's sleep thanks to all the staff will see you again

We went yet again usually it is for a treat not this time getting to be an on let's just go to Rigbys ,brilliant food good old fashioned food cooked as you like it .don't want to suggest anything because I like everything on the menu unless you can manage a giant meal leave the mixed grill alone although we they did with me they supply doggie bags and you will need one ,Sunday lunch is a wow try it can't praise the place enough can't think of anything else to say only hope to see you one evening or on a Sunday lunchtime .........I John Littlewood.

We went for our periodic visit to Rigbys over the Christmas break and it was very busy. Unfortunately, because they hadn't increased the staffing this meant that the service wasn't up to the usual standard and we had to wait quite a long time between courses. We also noticed that the previous, very good menu with two and three courses for set prices had been replaced by a more expensive standard 'a la carte' menu that meant that our meal was significantly more expensive than our previous visits.

Old fashioned English grub. Piled high. Good prices.

Planned to visit here for ages. Choices from a set menu for lunch but some vegetarian and vegan options on there. We had two courses for £15.95, chicken strips and beef. The meal was edible and hot and a decent size but get a little more like you had gone to your nans for. Lunch rather than to a restaurant. Decor very 70s but that doesn’t really detract from The food. Service is good with attentive staff and the owner clearly is involved in the running of the place rather than leaving it to staff. Empty on arrival at 12, packed on leaving at 1.30. If you want food wholesome cooked food then this is worth a visit.

It's a tough call to rate this place, on arrival you get a friendly / hearty welcome greeting, the food is decent, but it's a bit like visiting your Grandma's for Sunday lunch, that really is the only downside to Rigby's Farmhouse Restaurant.The decor and the atmosphere is very 1960, most of the clientele would remember that era well, so if you're over 60 chances are you'll enjoy the place, if you are under 50 chances are you feel like you walked into a residential care home.On the upside the service is good, friendly and helpful and you don't have to wait long for your food.To be fair if you haven't turned 50 yet you'd give it 1 or 2 stars, if you're an OAP then you'd likely give the place 4 stars.
