Went for lunch with my brother and sister in law, service is very good, food excellent, and reasonable price, well worth a visit .

I visited this cafe for the first (and last) time in mid May rather than drive up to the one I usually go to in St. Annes. It wasn't even a bank holiday weekend but the queue was right to the door and it took 25 minutes before I got served - not surprising as in spite of the place being busy there was just one young woman taking orders, making hot drinks then taking payment. Reading previous reviews it seems that this wasn't an isolated incident. I ordered the steak pie with chips and veg - I don't normally eat chips but it seems that mash isn't an option, everything comes with chips. The pie was okay-ish but the chips were obviously oven chips and very tasteless, the veg was also tasteless - maybe left in water for too long. With hindsight I may have been better with just coffee and cake as this wasn't a particularly enjoyable meal. Based on the meal and the long wait at the counter I would have given this place just one point but it gets a second point for the young lady serving on the counter and the young man who brought my meal as they were both extremely pleasant members of staff. Would I go to this cafe again? No way, in future I'll stick to my regular place at St. Annes.

Best full breakfast I've had for a long time. It's always good food here though, never been disappointed but the breakfast exceeded all expectations 😋

Not vegan friendly. The staff behind counter don't know what vegan means and was trying to offer me prawns. I was then ask "well what do you eat?" For a cafe serving food I'd have thought all staff would be knowledgeable about allergens. Person behind counter was rude.

Had a lovely lunch here last week when smoked haddock rarebit was on the specials! It was really nice so went back with my family for a breakfast today and was very disappointed ☹️ Extremely cheap sausages! The cheapest you can get and the toast had been put ontop of the cooked tomato's so was soggy! For £25 was expecting better! It all really needs updating! I felt sorry for the lady Infront of me who was spoken to so rudely. Maybe change counter assistant to someone warm with a smile! She only asked for ice in her water! Not alot to ask for in 2024 And maybe not shout "anything else" after every item ordered! You really don't feel welcome!

We never go anywhere else - the price is right the portions are plentiful and the cakes are delicious - ok it does get busy but that is why - we never think of going anywhere else

My wife and myself go regularly to the Lowther cafe. We would keep going back unless it was excellent. The baking and cooking is the highest standard and deserve the praise it gets.

We've been coming to this cafe for years for breakfast, lunch or just a coffee and a cake. Always been great, friendly and reasonable. On our last visit I had their homemade steak pie which was superb, packed full of quality meat. Will be my go to dish on future visits, wife and son said the same !!

Today was our first visit and we were impressed. Cafe was very busy with quite a few tables reserved. We were lucky that a table became free not long after entering e cafe. We ordered tea, coffee, hot chocolate, toast, a hot sausage roll and a homemade cheese bacon and chive scone. The food didn't take long to arrive and was delicious. The sausage roll had plenty of filling, the toast lovely and buttery and the lovely hot buttery toasted scone was divine. We will certainly be back. The staff were very friendly and polite and food and drinks excellent value.

Visited here for lunch yesterday. Came with my mum. We both had jacket potatoes. The food was acceptable but not outstanding. Quite old fashioned, cramped and chaotic. Not an extensive menu. All English, sandwiches, pie and chips, egg and chips. Cakes. I noticed a kitchen staff member( male) with his fingers up his nose and sneezing. I really hope he wasn't the chef.

We visited today for lunch. Ordered 2 x lattes, 2 x water, cake and two chicken salad sandwiches with one portion of chips. By the time lunch arrived we had been waiting over an hour. When we questioned our order hadn’t arrived we were told they were waiting for chips. Yet the service numbers prior to ours all had chips. The sandwich did not resemble a sandwich. It was two slices of bread topped with a tiny bit of chicken (not even a leg) and salad. Although I will say the salad was a good selection. Would I visit again - No

Six of us cycled from the Wigan area after someone recommended that the cafe has very good cakes. It was a Sunday and the cafe was very busy inside and outside. We had to wait a few minutes to get a table inside. The table was quickly cleaned and we ordered our food. Some had cakes and a couple ordered egg on toast and we all ordered various hot drinks. No complaints from any of us. The cafe is well worth a visit and at £5.50 for a large cappuccino and a very nice piece of orange cake is very reasonably priced.

It's a lovely place to take your dogs in .the staff are brilliant The food is scrumptious. It's got nothing to do with the theatre and yes you can park your car but you have to pay. But ♿ parking have to pay as well the money goes towards the theatre. It is my understanding they're not supposed to charge for disabled badge holders disabled people have already paid ten pound for parking to get the blue badge it's diabolical. Shame on the manager of lowther gardens. 🤬

Terrible tea! We had a pot of tea to share which was tasteless. I think they need to change their teabags. The teapot was damaged and spilt tea all over the table. Altogether very disappointing.

I have been visiting this excellent cafe for many years where I am always made to feel welcome and valued The homemade food is excellent with something for everyone The cakes are famous and baked with quality ingredients As a owner of two pekingese dogs sadly one blind now it is a pleasure to know we are welcomed and accepted Many many regular customers have been enjoying the cafe and the friendly atmosphere Indeed today I am introducing a senior neighbour to the delights as I know he will enjoy the daily 'special ' hot meal and I will have a fresh salad It is always clean bright and appealing with brisk efficient servers I love it

My wife and i came here after coming to view the Bobby Ball Statue, we both had the hot chocolate and fruit cake which were lovely and reasonably priced, the staff were also helpful and pleasant, would highly recommend.

Best cheese on toast I have ever had😋

We've been coming here for many years and have always enjoyed the food. We've tried everything from their famous Bacon on toast to the homemade pies and cakes, no complaints. They serve the best Horlicks I've ever tasted, can't get mine anything like it ? Very friendly and dogs are welcome.

This is a nice little cafe ,food is well priced although today we had mince and onion pie which was very bland no taste at all, the staff are usually lovely apart from the lady with the red glasses that was very unpleasant and quite abrupt with us today not even a smile think she should be working in the back where no one can see her if she can’t deal with the public or needs training to work with the public,Apart from this vert nice.Cafe does get very busy and really could do with being bigger!!!

Visited at lunchtime today and it was very busy. However, managed to find a table. Tables a little close together especially as the cafe allows dogs in. Long queue to order as only one member of staff taking orders, making hot drinks and taking payment. Good menu and good value for money especially the children's menu, as my 10 year old son had sausage, chips and beans and enough for lunch snack with a drink for £2.95 - sausage poor quality. I had a tuna mayo sandwich which was lovely but don't pay extra for salad as get a garnish anyway.

Called in for an afternoon coffee tasted ok but could of been hotter.

My Aunt (99) is a regular customer at the Book Bean cafe in Kirkham and when she found out they had taken over the Lowther Pavillion Cafe we decided to pay a visit for lunch. The Cafe offers a tempting array of home made dishes, soups, sandwiches, pies, cakes & ice creams. Servis was swift and prices were reasonable' *** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED***

It was facing a beautiful park, and the food was delicious. The staff is kind and the store is clean. The scones were very delicious.

Lovely place to relax and have lunch or coffee and cake.

I hate this place. There are so many edible bits and pieces that tempt a diabetic such as I, to be a very naughty boy. My wife and I wandered in just before lunchtime last Wednesday. The cafe was nowhere near full, there were only about ten people in the place so there was no pressure to rush your order because there were people behind you. i went for the breakfast which took about ten minutes to arrive after I ordered it and there was plenty to eat. It didn`t cost the earth either. It was in my mind to quietly purchase a cake on the way out for secret home eating, but my wife, who watches me like a hawk, put the mokkers on that little adventure. If you are visiting the area, pop in. You won`t regret it.

I ordered 2 ploughman’s lunches and got a grated cheese salad when I pointed out that a ploughman’s is not grated cheese salad but ham and pie as well she shrugged and said this here, the staff were indifferent about it .The place is very noisy and conversation is impossible.I will not go back again .

Called today for a quick drink whilst walking in the beautiful gardens. The home made cakes were lovely and the prices very reasonable. Plenty of dogs inside. The fact that it was packed tells you how popular this cafe is.

If you're trying to keep the weight down, it might be best to send someone else to the counter for your cuppa. There's always an extremely tempting array of yummy cakes and pastries on offer. They also sell meals which are pretty good. You can buy ice cream here if the moods you esp. during summer months.

Lovely meal, so well run for a small cafe. Good value. Lots of staff smiling and you could see a great manager behind it.

Food good, freshly made. Steak pie is well worth having. Staff polite and friendly. Only downside, for me personally, is how close the tables are together. Sometimes feels a little claustrophobic.

We were out for a walk in Lowther Gardens today and we could smell the bacon from the cafe. So we decided to go take a look. Social distancing rules are in place at the cafe which was really nice to see. We had a gorgeous home made sausage roll which was scrumptious! I had a tea and my daughter had a bottle of coke. Service was brilliant by a very polite young man. A very nice experience all in all. Thank you

I called in this morning for a take-out tuna sandwich & coffee. Sandwich was made of cheap brown bread & coffee was stewed & undrinkable. Very disappointing.
