Looked nice from the outside but the inside was rough, with dirty carpets and fittings as well as sticky tables and table coverings even peeling off! Obviously a locals pub as they all stopped to stare at us while we looked at the menu. Once I saw that they had a fish finger sandwich listed as vegetarian (rolling eyes emoji), I was outta there. Please note, Plough staff - FISH IS NOT AND HAS NEVER BEEN SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS!!

If you are thinking of eating here Don't . Definately the worst bar meal we have ever had, the soup was tasteless and watery. The accompanying roll was warm but brick hard. Chips were disgusting and overcooked. Fish definitely frozen and overcooked with inedible batter. The salad was warm, as our meals were possibly being being kept warm, while we were still eating our starters and the waitress tried to serve them. Possibly as the cook was due to finish his shift. Unfortunately the member of staff didn't want to know or acknowledge our complaints, never mind discounting our bill, but we were offered an ice-cream.

Bar people pleasant. Food...pathetic. Pie soggy and meat tuff, toastie and pizza undercooked, mixed combo not eaten as fell on the floor. Asked for pizza to be put under the grill to brown a little. Waitress tried but chef didn't! Was told there wasn't a grill! Bar person lovely and very embarrassed and apologetic. Never asked if the food was OK. It definatley wasnt. Apologised for food which fell on the floor moving table, but to be honest that was what it was fit for! Perhaps a new chef is needed. The pub could prosper from an experienced chef.

Food not good. Husband enjoyed his steak pie but my fish and chip meal was atrocious. Fish was over cooked to a frazzle, hardly edible. Mushy peas good, chips were frozen variety. wish i had sent it back. Could see why pub was almost empty! Pub needs refurbishment and outside tables need replacing. Get the food right if you want to attract customers, its not rocket science! Very disappointed and wont be returning.

Honestly for a village pub you'd expect the food to be alot better quality, cheap chicken burgers, microwave pizzas and poorly cooked steak, we quickly figured out why the servers never asked us if everything was okay with our meals. They need to invest in some new wipeable highchairs aswell. The ones they have are very dirty and even have mould on them.

My partner and I called into this pub Wednesday evening 12th October about 6pm feeling quite hungry. After getting a couple of pints at the bar and finding a table we decided to order what I think was “ a special “ that evening the BBQ ribs with chips and salad. PS it wasn’t on the everyday menu I’ve tried ribs from Chinese takeaways, restaurants in Poulton, but these ribs in The Plough were the best ever! They (5 ribs) were served in a bbq sauce in a dish, full of meat and no gristle, absolutely perfect. The ribs were served with a salad and never had before, potato peel fries, yes potato peels fried!! Price- £9.95. Absolute bargain we came out stuffed. I’m going to ask the landlord if he could make this dish regular not just a special as I would love to take my friends in to try it. Well done chef and let’s not forget the friendly bar staff either all served with a smile. As a price guide 2 servings of the ribs, 2 premium beers cost £27.65 and well worth it. Will definitely be going again.

Hard chips (that were obviously frozen chips ) but still under cooked , chewy meat in the pie that must have been re heated on several occasions I'm not one to right reviews ( good or bad ) but i feel in this day and age when going out to eat is a treat , surely businesses would try and encourage you to go back . One star for being dog friendly and one star for a good drink selection and some staff were very friendly. One member of staff I caught talking about my friend as she walked away (not knowing I was with her). The food I would almost go as far to say, inedible. My friend also had a 6inch long bit of plastic in her clearly microwaved meal, that was definitely a choking hazard. My meal was equally as unappealing with very bland, reheated food. Definitely never eating here again, not bad for a drink after a dog walk.

Good old fashioned local pub, dog and child friendly. Hardly ever have to wait for service. Food is good (sometimes hit and miss) but overall like most of the dishes on the menu and it’s always served quickly, so really good if you want a quick bite to eat. Friendly and chatty staff with good service. Great beer gardens, choice of sitting out the front, or if you have kids sit round the side so they can play on the park and field. Lots of car parking space. They do hold events and have space for private functions. Dogs welcome inside and out, Family friendly, Big screen sports, Live music events, Pool table. We live near Stanley Park and decided to go for a nice walk through the paths at the back of DeVere in order to end up in Staining and go to The Plough for something to eat. We haven't visited this pub for years but disappointed is an understatement. The pub is in dire need of redecoration and the food was absolutely awful. It is cheap but we'd rather pay extra for quality. It's such as shame as we would have liked to have made visits here a regular occurrence but unfortunately we won't be doing until things change. Especially when there are much better options nearby.

We frequent The Plough during summer with great outdoor space and now winter is here it’s warm and cosy inside. Bar staff are great, friendly and attentive. Drink prices compare to others as does the food. We now eat every Wednesday evening and am currently working my way through the new revised menu. Great choice of good quality pub food.

We came as a family of 8. Greeted by a man in a dirty blue jumper. Off putting to start with. Ate in main bar area and all tables were sticky and chairs all damaged. We ate on a Friday afternoon and the place was very quiet. Ordered Madras, Gammon Steak, Cheesburger and Lasagne. All were sub standard. Lasagna and Cheesburger had loads of disgusting off tasting cheddar of some description. The oil must not of been changed in the fryer maybe ever. It tainted the taste of the chips. God knows how they cook the gammon? Maybe reheated I’m Microwave?? Half frozen garlic bread with the lasagne. Honestly what’s the point of serving this standard of food? On the plus side the beer was decent and the pool table cheap at 50p a game! AVOID AVOID AVOID

Absolutely shocking to be quite honest. Arrived and the staff were extremely pleasant, asked us to Covid check in which we are now used to. We'd booked the previous evening expecting a table, now we realise that was a mistake on our part in a "pub setting" as we were told to find a table. The only available table seemed to be in the family room, that's fine, we are parents so we get that kids need to eat too, no issue with that. The issue was having to step over a man, I'm guessing around 18, lying on the floor with a toddler, didn't move when we entered, absolutely no acknowledgement that it wasn't "their room" The group of them (around 10) were loud, rowdy and generally disrespectful to anyone else in the pub at all. The toddler was allowed to slam doors, the young man climbed into a baby seat directly next to our table forcing the table into my legs and not so much as a sorry. Food arrived and was what we expected. Nothing bad to say, cooked as requested (my partner is fussy with his steak and the chefs did an ace job). Waitresses came and went from the room from time to time, and nothing was said at all, my partner and I had to TEXT each other as we couldn't hear over the noise. Unless you are a local, don't bother with this bar, they really didn't care, even when we said at the end, the food was great, the atmosphere was terrible. Maybe I was deaf from the others shouting and ranting, but I didn't even get an apology for not being able a meal on my birthday properly. I won't be returning.

Feels dirty.Drinks over priced. No atmosphere a lot of the time.Food average and microwaved, mash terrible, but has improved.Benches outside need replacing and a nice beer garden needs making - plenty of room for this. The children’s play area! This really needs more equipment rather than a rusty 1980s slide - health & safety nightmare. This pub has so much potential, lower the drinks prices a bit, get a proper chef and improve the menu and quality of meals, smarten up the pub outside and in, get a nice beer garden, add a safe and secure child’s play area. Then I’m sure the pub would attract more passing trade, people from all over the Fylde would travel to it, the owners would make so much more money!!!!!

Drove past a few times and always liked the look of this pub so today whilst out looking for somewhere to go for a Sunday lunch we decided to try. It's not as nice inside as it looks outside but menu sounded good and We was very hungry. Orders two roast beef lunches waited around 15 mins but was very disappointed when they arrived. The beef looked and tasted like catering meat and there was very little of it. The frozen Yorkshire pudding was burnt on top as if it had been under a grill to keep warm carrots was lovely the mash was awful watery and lumpy and spread out and flattened across the plate as if to fill it. Very little gravy which also had lumps in. Although not expensive at under 8 a meal did not enjoy it one bit and won't be returning again.

Having read some of the recent reviews on this medium I found myself suffering a degree of mirth. There are some who think that everyone should enjoy their dog and some perhaps think that everyone should enjoy someone else's children. Some are not keen on the mircrowave and some who misconstrue the Staff's banter as rudeness. Having visited this establishment many times and dined there severally over the years, I 'chuckle' for several reasons:- a) The Licensees and Staff always accept my Scottish currency without comment - b) I've never found any of them to be other than pleasant and obliging - c)The beer is always good and d) The food is 'simple Pub Grub' BUT most importantly to me was that yesterday there were added bonuses ---- i) whilst dining there were no dogs (having left our two comfortably in the place where we were staying) --- ii) in place of the dogs were two grandchildren on a leash who as usual behaved impeccably - iii) The food was good and plentiful at a more than reasonable price and finally - iv) whilst enjoying the 'fine fayre', England beat Wales. A thank you to Roy who served us!

Been many times recently over the last month as moved into the village and it would be rude not to go visit the local pub! Each time we have eaten there the food has been good and the prices are spot on. Most expensive meal is 9.99 and it's a mixed grill and you get a plate full. There's always lots of specials on offer to. People seem friendly enough, food comes quick and all staff have come to check how our meals have been. Pool table, darts, sky TV.... and booze, plus staggering distance... Can't complain. If I was to make any suggestions to them, it would be to look at refurbing the toilets.... very old school. Not even updated any posters... example would be the poster advertising matrix reloaded out on vhs in 2003 haha. Does bring a bit of humour however. My second suggestion (and a request ha) would be to get a premium lager on tap rather than just fosters and kronenbourg.A nice pint of San Miguel, Peroni or Tuborg would be perfect!

What looks like it should be a welcoming friendly village pub is anything but. On speaking with the locals it appears the problem is one of the two landlords . We mistook this landlord for the village drunk. For most of our visit he stood at the bar drinking and verbally abused customers as the came in making all sorts of inappropriate comments to his drinking buddies about his clients. We have never felt so unwelcome in a public place. We decided not to eat as we felt very unfortunate. The place was not particularly clean and the meals looked then were microwaved from frozen . Definately one to avoid ..

We went for a family occasion and so there were quite a few of us! I'd never been before so didn't know what to expect. The service was excellent and the staff were very nice, polite and friendly but the one thing that really made my day was the food! I had the lasagne which was amazing, full of flavour which you don't tend to get at pub dinners. I also tried some of my husbands dinner as he was so impressed! It's the best steak I'd tasted and the sausages were so tasty (he had the mixed grill). We were all made to feel very welcome and everyone had a great time.

the food here is amazing . the mixed grills are massive and very very reasonably priced (I would recommend the grill ) the kids meals are also good value for money . the whole place has a very friendly warm atmosphere and we stayed here for a couple of hours after we had finished eating as the weather was nice we sat outside and had a few drinks .

The food is good and really well priced! A nice atmosphere, you can take your dog in and have a drink. Lovely owners and staff. Only reason I didn't score a 5 is because the beer is a little expensive that most pubs, but it is in a small village.

We had the roast dinner which unfortunately was clearly frozen roast potatoes. The mash was very lumpy and the gravy was gloopy and clearly heated in a microwave. Really disappointed. The staff are nice enough but it really was like the blind leading the blind. Won't be back.

We popped into the Plough today for a bite to eat after a walk from Marton Mere to Staining and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a Prawn Marie Rose Sandwich and chips and partner the combo meal. Huge portions, fresh bread, freshly cooked. We thought it was very good value. It was busy being staining gala day but we managed to get a seat outside and it was lovely. We had to wait a little while for food but this was to be expected on gala day, the landlady was lovely. Will definitely be back :)

Had a quick lunch stop here and wasn't expecting much but the food was very well presented and high quality. Had prawn marie rose sandwich, loads of prawns, fresh crunchy salad. Half chicken, salad and chips for only £5.95 which was perfectly cooked not greasy and perfect chips. Home made celery soup also very generous portions and very tasty only £2.95.Friendly staff, good beers and park outside for the kids. All in all excellent value, better than average food and pleasant atmosphere.

Having been before and leaving a positive review about the Plough we decided to return once again.Food arrived as usual and was to the same high standard. Then in came about 8 under 14's who ordered some chips and ice cream before opening the sweets they had brought and started making loads of noise. There was no adult accompanying them so no one to keep them in check. I'm not exactly sure it was legal to allow a group of children into a public house with no over 18.Next time we want that sort of experience we'll head to a Wacky Warehouse.I hope the money they made on two bowls of chips and two ice creams (and no drinks) was worth it cos we will never be returning!

First time calling at this place came in the evening and back the following day for breakfast. This place did not disappoint friendly most hard working staff who make us feel welcome from start to finish. The food was hot, fresh and most importantly not dry unlike the Bolton branch when we recently visited, they could learn so much from this place. The beer garden is great a little sun trap and on the beach front that is a bonus. If you are in St Anne’s then this place is well and truly worth a visit. Keep up the great work.

We've dined and relaxed in the Pavilion cafe many times over the years and the quality of food and service has always been HQ. We're very aware that the main costs of running any eatery nowadays is very high, but pleased to say the owners have kept the quality of food etc to the same high standard, whilst keeping portions and prices reasonable too. Always a pleasure to see well behaved doggie visitors here too, and grateful to the cafe owners for keeping yappy dogs (and kids) under control, even if their owners cant. Nothing nicer on a summer's day than to sit in the ' cafe forecourt' with a great coffee and some tasty food

A bit of a wait for food but had a nice bottle of wine to keep us going, very reasonably priced. Food was lovely, steak was great! Got the order spot on, steak was well done and salad was fresh. The chick n mix selection was plentiful and freshly cooked. A cheap and cheerful night out. Would recommend.

Visited as a large group for a special birthday, dined in a private dining room which was lovely, waiters were efficient. I'm afraid it was the food that let Lytham house down, the food tasted lovely however we had to send several meals back as they were cold or undercooked . We did not want to upset the Birthday girl so several of us did not complain or say anything when food was cold, my beef wellington was tepid and my vegetables were cold, our sticky toffee puddings was cold and dry (like it had not been cooked long enough). Very disappointed 😞
