Well we come over a lot this year was there today for mum's birthday lunch as all ways the food is out stanging mum is hard to please as dont eat a lot but so loves her Cod and chips so vere much and she is all ways so so happy with her lunch ever time they was so helpfull today i got hit by a bad head offer help and checked on us a lot till it went love going over there and we drive from Fleetwood just so mum can have out standing Fish and Chips thank you so vere much for your great food

Called here for a drink whilst out and about in the area. Very friendly and welcoming. Good range of drinks and food available. Ample seating is available inside and out. Dog friendly areas inside and out.

In all was a good experience, food was well presented and tasty. Staff were friendly and punctual.

I had the chicken Caesar salad after a long day at the beach!! I was very surprised with all the food that came to the table as each plate looked great!! Everything was fresh and delicious and all of us enjoyed the food / left full and happy. There is a small play area outside. Lots of parking available and wheelchair accessible.

The place was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly I would highly recommend this place for a lovely meal

Stall were amazing. I had chilli with rice the meat woz stringy and disgusting and the sauce woz very runny. My husband had fish and chips the chips were chunky but raw. The fish woz cold inside with soggy batter definitely not for us

I love coming here, especially since the food is sourced from a local farm shop. Despite mot coming here as often as I'd like the food is continously good.

Spent a good few hours and a good few hundred pounds here as part of a birthday session but table side service was poor. At times the tables had too many glasses and we had to take them to the bar ourselves. 🙄 Bar staff were helpful and food was fantastic so it didn't spoil our day.

Went today Sunday 23rd June) at mid afternoon and was reasonably quiet. Asked if can eat outside was given menus and was told to order drinks at bar then someone will be out to take your order. This is what we did and ordered drinks then a lady at the bar that was counting the money out that we was ready to order food. She asked what table number we was sat at (78) then told us go and sit outside and someone will take your order. Well we both drank our drinks and nobody came to take our order. We could have gone in to complain but I ain’t like that as if you don’t want our custom I’d rather spend elsewhere. On the plus side the young lad that was cleaning the tables was doing so and passed us 4 individual times so at least he was keeping things tidy

Absolutely shocking, arrived at 12, didn't even get acknowledged by a member of staff for half an hour before eventually having our order taken at 12:45... pastry was rock hard on the steak pudding, disappointing, won't be going again. Terrible service, average food.

Great Saturday afternoon at the kingfisher. I would recommend it. It's not like other chain pubs though so be prepared to wait 10-20 mins whilst food is cooked from scratch

Older bloke on behind the bar is an absolute ignorant sod! Stood at the bar for 5 mins didn't even say will be with you soon or anything just carried on doing his own thing before after 6/7 mins then said "what do you want' absolutely ignorant sod

Staff were very lovely. Table and seating was nice. There's a basic outdoor play area along with plenty of outdoor seating. Food was a mixed bag. The kids fish fingers and chips looked great, from my perspective as they were mini fish fillets, not so great from my son's point of view because it wasn't a fish finger to him. The pizza was cut up and lay in a row rather than left in a circle. It's a VERY small pizza, similar to the Chicago town deep dish pizzas, only not deep pan. My daughter really did not like the kids Mac n cheese. I tried it, it was very watery and very grainy. My fish and chips looked excellent, my fish did lack flavour, but the batter was fantastic. The salt and pepper chicken was odd. It smelled and looked amazing, but there was no flavour. I thought my niece was being fussy until I tried it. The chips were great. It was expensive for what it was, but that just goes with the times right now. I have recently had better for less though. I doubt I'd make a beeline for the Kingfisher again. Great staff, but the food just isn't quite there.

Looks great inside, staff are very friendly and a reasonable selection of drinks. Food was okay, nothing special. The portion sizes are very large so couldn't quite finish it.

We diverted off the M55, travelling to Blackpool, to revisit this pub, having used it regularly for lunches when we lived locally. Parking was no problem - only 2 other cars in the car park. The food was very good, as usual, but the pub was very quiet (we were only the second group in) and the service was unusually slow, perhaps because the kitchen 'had not got into its stride'. When our meals arrived, they were hot and tasty and we enjoyed a reasonably priced lunch. We will be visiting again when in the area.

Absolutely shocking service from unprofessional and inadequately trained staff, so here goes, entered the pub and asked for a table and was told “just find a seat which isn’t reserved” so we did and happily chatted away for over an hour before being approached by a member of staff with a family stood behind him saying “sorry but you have to move so this family can sit there” straight away we said “this wasn’t a reserved table” to which the member of staff replied “that’s a food table” and he clearly wasn’t bothered about anything apart from moving us on, the attitude and behaviour of the member of staff was absolutely unbelievable, for starters if you are asking people to move table then you at least have a table ready for them to move to, not just shift them on as if they mean nothing, I certainly would never treat anyone in that way, in my opinion it was rude and uncalled for, if there are no free tables then you ask the customer to have a drink at the bar until a table becomes free, it happens in every other restaurant and eating establishment, what you don’t do is approach other customers and ask them to move so someone else can be seated at there seat, literally couldn’t believe what was happening, never again will I return to this shockingly run establishment, if I could give zero stars I would have for sure. Very poor !!

My family Me was driving round today as it was nice out have see the kingfisher lots of times so we throught we would pop in this time well the staff are so lovely so is the place and the food is to die for my Son had Bacon Double Cheese Burger My and I had the Fish Finger Butty this was so lovely did not see it come with chips so was going to order some to go with it your lovely staff member told us you do no it comes with chips so do you still wont chips as we had not this was abobe and beond her need to let us no so thank you so vere much will be back vere soon ❤️💯

Sat outside today surprised to not wait too long, but the only thing hot was the slice of carrot, the 2 small potatoes were too hard and dry also, and the yorkshire was hard and very dry, not much savoy cabbage few peas 2 bits of dry cold meat, it was so dry and hard and not hot, some gravy would have helped, had to hunt for it, was not nice as used to be the best by far, whats happened at £28 we dont want to go again, very dissapointing

I have been a regular patron of the Kingfisher for a number of years now.Tonight, my experience was so poor 😢 we left. Arrived at 5.50, and at 7.40, still no food had arrived at our table. Even though tables around us , where we were sat and arriving much later than we had were being served with food before us , we had to ask several times for our food order to be taken . Waited for 30 minutes before our drinks order was taken. I find this poor service unacceptable , and I will not be returning any time soon.

Not a place for real beer drinkers. I'm only here because of Kirkham bypass road closure, due to accident. Had a pint of J w Lees cask bitter (the only cask bitter on). It tastes disgusting, more like drain cleaner than real ale. I remember coming here for Sunday lunch a few months back. That was disgusting as well. If you like your food and real ale, you're best giving this a place a miss.

1st visit to The Kingfisher this evening, even though we only live a few miles down the road, definitely will not be the last time we go. The staff were all lovely, included our son in all conversations (didn't even mind him singing Christmas songs to them in March 🤦‍♀️🙃). Food was incredible, best steak I've had in a very long time and I can highly recommend the Sticky Toffee Pudding. 10 out of 10 for us tonight. We will be back soon!

First time here but proberbly would not use again, much nicer places with better food.

Went in for a quick pint and it was empty, great member of staff but little atmosphere. Lot of people with dogs in fact more dogs than people.

Really welcoming staff food lovely but portions just a bit big my husband had the sausage and Marsh which he said was delicious especially the gravy will definitely be back

Nice place to go for some food, The staff were all very helpful and friendly the place gets very busy so I would advise booking in advance but we managed to get a table on Saturday for 4 people. The food was good and they had a decent selection on offer. They also have a specials board which was good. The place is decorated well and there's plenty of variety in seating available to suit any need. The menu is good it's mid range price but the food is of good quality so you do get what you pay for. The desserts do come in a little steep but again very nice and well worth paying the extra for. 4 of us at our party all had main meal and drinks just tea and soft drinks the tea cups and pots could do with being a bit bigger but the soft drinks sizes were good. 2 if us had dessert and the bill came to £77 not a cheap pub lunch but a good one 😁

Myself and my friend called in for lunch we decided not to have a starter glad we didn't the main courses are very large we both had salt and pepper chicken with chips it was amazing good service been before and had good good well worth a visit we will be back

The best pub food I have had in a very long time. I had the steak pudding, which was perfect. Such a basic meal yet, so tasty. I would go back. The play area outside is pretty basic and no play area on the inside.

I had the chilli as it was gf, not great Hubby had the Sunday roast, carrots more or less raw, the broccoli and cauliflower had been cooked in garlic, he had the beef and it came with stuffing? It was quite cold inside, with kids running around, won't be going back

Good pub food, can get a little busy, recommend booking a table if you want to eat at night on a Friday or Saturday.

We had a Sunday Lunch last week and it was well presented but absolutely tasteless! Had spicy chicken wing starter to share and it was delicious apart from one wing was still a little frozen in the middle. Wouldn’t go go back sorry 😔

Very quiet but had just opened its doors at 12..had a beef dinner for 12.95..I don't think it's worth it..I've had a beautiful carvery for half that price..bit because I'd travelled from Wolverhampton I didn't know the best place to eat..I wouldn't go again.

Lovely food hot very tasty pies just like home made good portions just delish tasty food went twice in a few days took family going again soon with friends I can cook well and begrudge paying for food that's is not up to standard here is great hot tasty good value staff friendly our new go to place so much more to try very happy top marks to the chef

Just stopped in whilst on a walk for a pint with my 2 year old. First thought was great they have a play area we can sit outside have our tea and he can play ,exactly whats needed with a child NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY! !!!!!! NO seats near the play area. You are supposed leave them and go round the corner... I sat on the play equipment with my son as I promised he could Play. We didn't stay to eat however when saying to staff/management that it was dissapointing that there where no seats around the play area. The response was that it is against health and safety. I told them that it wasn't it was more dangerous to leave my two year old unattended on play equiptment for which the responSe was that I could sit inside and watch out the window as it was againagainst company policy to have seaing where you could watch your child a round the play area Not family friendly. This comes from a resident who lives within 5 minutes walking distance and won't be back until they sort it out. What a disappointment. We didn't even get as far as the food to see if it was any good. 2023 update. The play are and seating are now next to each other which is an improvement. However…. We live locally and think because it’s closest to us that we will give it another go, done this about 5 times over the years and each time have been so disappointed with the food, and every time I say to my mrs we need to remember this so we don’t do it again. Ok for a drink if a bit on the expensive side, I’m not one for going out for a drink in a food pub so just don’t. I would avoid. Try the ship at elsewick, not too far away and good food.

Friendly staff, the food is clearly homemade and fresh. Lovely atmosphere and lots of toys and machines for children to play with.

Food piping hot,beef bit tough,quick service, Sunday roast seemed a popular choice. Appeared clean although some single seating had become worn. Plenty outdoor seating on a nice sunny day with parasols. Dog friendly.Plenty parking. Accept Blue light card. Visited again today with friend for lunch, from Simon the manager to Elliot the barman/waiter we had exceptional friendly service. Warm welcome, happy smiley staff. Obviously thanks to the chef for quality food and wasnt over faced with chips,thankfully.....sprouts on meal,yaaaay,love them. Followed by coffee and a shared cookie dough cheesecake..... can't fault the meal at all. Be back soon...... thankyou!! 🍽 🍷 ☕️

Decent food at an OK price. Gave me the wrong sauce for my steak, no checkback at all throughout me eating my meal. Which is honestly their loss as I would've easily ordered another drink or two. My friend said the same thing.

The food was great and the service was truly amazing, but the atmosphere was let down by a few abusive people later on.

I normally like it here. Booked a table online but was 10 mins late but there was plenty of space. We were made to feel like we were an inconvenience. We got seated by the door so it was cold everytime it opened. We waited ages to be served and again not very good customer service. We then got served and I asked for one adult roast and one kids roast. We got served 2 kids roasts and then on the receipt were charged for an adult one!! I don't understand why they think you will pay £7 more for an adults version of the same meal and same quantity. I refused and they did adjust the receipt but I feel this should of never happened and made my husband feel uncomfortable as he was paying but I wasn't having him pay for something we didn't have!

The most amazing service by a young lady today whilst out on a trip with a gluten free friend,the menu for him was fantastic as gluten free menus are usually not that big /choice ,the portions are amazing and choice for everyone is catered for,I would highly recommend from walking in the door to leaving your treated wonderfully .The lamb pie wow and chunky chips best I have tasted ,and the gluten free fishcakes and chips was a great hit with a friend who finds most gluten free foods boring but these fish cakes he found amazing .

Very 2.4 franchise pub as you'd expect. Only under rating this as we weren't greatly welcomed, told food would be hour plus upon arrival almost to put us off but we risked it and ordered as we had to go within a timeframe but food came within 15 minutes. Felt this was odd way to try to prevent people ordering food and we aren't idiots or trouble. Food was nice more atmosphere on the moon though. Also oddly placed all glasses upside down on the dirty bar before serving?? Urgh

Great pub with an excellent menu, my one and only gripe is that we called in for lunch this week and it was wet, windy and cold outside but no form of heating inside. This, in my opinion is a problem. I’m fully aware that the cost of heating is high at the moment but this would put some people off.

Worst place I've been to this is the second time I've had a bad experience there will NOT be returning. Walked in with Mt family and asked is they had a table the man at the front who looked like a manager or even owner was so rude we asked a few tines have you got a table he kept saying don't know but ee wanted to know so we knew to stay or not,finally got a table the staff were quick but the food was awful I had a burger and it was so poor quality really cheap thin burgers I couldn't even eat it. My partner had a Sunday roast and the meat was cheap the mash u could cut with a knife frozen cheap mash the gravy was oily and tasteless. My son had the kids fish fingers he couldn't eat it he said it was watery. Such an expensive place for poor quality ingredients just awful 😖

Ordered a burger, food didn't stay on the bun. Finished food waited for service to get the dessert menu and another drink. Never happened I paid and walked out. AWFUL SERVICE STAY WELL CLEAR. DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE THE 1 STAR

Upon entering we have been seated near door,which seemed ok at first,but it was very disruptive as people started to come in and out during our meal.waitress asked us about drinks and in 2 mins she was hovering over if we r ready to order our meal,it felt really rushed,so we did ordered.the sunday roast was dry like a cardboard,they forgot the vegetables, had to ask for it.the yorkshire pud was burnt and hard like a rock. The shandy was just a lager and found it disgusting. Cheese and onion pie was overloaded with cheese to the point it was hard to stomach it. The mac n cheese was very dry no sauce to it just bit of melted cheese.the only thing that actually looked good was burger,but again no sauce,just bit of salad and meat patty.chips were greasy and fries were dry,like it stud on side for a day. Price was on higher side for a family meal and i would not recommend to anyone and i will not return here ever again. Also have to add few hrs later and i still feel like i am about to vomit.

Absolutely appalling service. We specifically said no onions due to a food allergy and yet we got onions. Sent the dish back and had to ask for a completely new dish so there was no trace of onions. Not longer after we left our son broke out in a painful rash so clearly they didn't do what we asked. The server also spilled hot gravy on our other sons arm as he was serving the plates and we only received a pitiful apology. Simply not good enough. The food was disgraceful. I ordered the turkey roast, but the turkey was the cheap frozen kind and not fresh hand carved turkey as you would expect. And the Yorkshire pudding was a rock. I couldn't even cut into it it was that hard - probably microwaved to the bitter end. And the manager had a bad attitude throughout our entire visit.

We stopped by for Sunday dinner, and they managed to fit us in without a reservation. The initial server was quick and friendly. The issues started when our meals arrived and the person bringing them couldn't tell us which was the kids and which was the adults. Two of the meals also had the wrong meats. The large dinner was also missing the cauliflower cheese and the extra gravy (which we had to ask twice for). The manager did sort out the incorrect meals and quickly brought out the correct ones. However, my single slice of beef was so dry and tough as old boots they edges were dry, curled up, and crisp. The mashed potato tasted like instant, the broccoli was so overcooked it was mushy. The positives were nicely cooked cauliflower and a very large and tasty Yorkshire pudding that was clearly homemade. The only difference between the kids' and adults' meals was a second roast potato on the adult meal. We decided to skip desserts after the poor quality of the dinners. I must give credit to the manager who, when we came to pay, asked if everything was OK and, upon hearing how the meals were, deducted the price of my meal plus an extra 20% off the bill. I don't know if the quality of our meals was a one-off, but we wouldn't return for food after what we ate. The pub itself, though, was friendly and the staff pretty helpful. There is also a play area outside for the kids, along with outdoor seating.

Do NOT eat here if you're vegetarian!! I ordered a halloumi burger, and there were breaded fish fillets in there along with the halloumi, so I didn't notice until I had already eaten some and noticed the weird taste. 16 years of vegetarianism down the toilet along with the meal and drinks I had just had. Thank god I don't have a deadly seafood allergy! Beware! Their veggie options are probably cooked and prepped in the same area as the meat/fish (or this wouldn't have happened), AND they do not take enough care to ensure your vegetarian meal is ACTUALLY vegetarian 🙄 Save yourself the trouble, and eat elsewhere.

I think new management have taken over as the food isn't as good as it was. Maybe new chefs too!

Went the kingfisher today and ordered a roast, beef roast it was couldnt order any other meats ... food came and the gravy was like p!ss, i ordered more gravy and to be honest i would rather poured pond water over instead proper horrible.. Next up was the cheescake still frozen solid nearly snapped the spoon when i dug into it I think you would get a better roast in HMP kirkham Avoid

Disappointed - vegetarian food was very bland. Scampi wasn’t much better. Nobody asked how the food was until we asked for the bill. A small discount was given because it was obvious that it wasn’t palatable.

Welcomed by friendly staff , restaurant was clean. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food isn’t bad just a tad plain , it’s typical pub grub. Good for a quick bite Plenty of parking outside Wheelchair accessible

Lovely staff, great food and pleasant atmosphere. We had a pet dog with us and she was also very nicely looked after. There were quite a few families there who were all having a great time.

Dreadful place and rude staff. I went in, with my wife, for a retirement do so there would be about 15 of us. Met my colleagues who were sat on the high tables by the bar, so there were about 8 of us when we arrived. We ordered our drinks and stood between the bar and the tables our friends were sat on. We were immediately told to move away from the bar and sit down. We all obliged and walked around the pub where there weren't enough seats anywhere to accommodate us. We HAD to ask a couple of gentleman who kindly moved for us but we then had to carry heavy chairs to accommodate our group. No help from the staff. How rude! We were in a pub, having drinks, prior to ordering food. What was the problem of some of us stood near the bar? The manageress, who was extremely miserable offered no help whatsoever. Absolutely disgusted with the service. Drinks also v expensive. Despite the ffood looking really nice I will Never Visit that pub again. Felt like I was treated like a child, at 60 years old!@!

This is the WORST pub I have ever been in. Staff very unfriendly. Went in with my sister, lunchtime, waited outside in the rain at 11:58am with another couple, and the staff were all stood around looking at us. Only opened the doors at 12pm, on the dot. As soon as we walked in the door we were jumped on by staff asking if we were having food or drinks, but not politely. I said, just drinks. I was told to go round the other side of the bar and was told to sit out of the way. Ordered coffee and lemonade, paid. Sat down, got lemonade, then told my coffee would be 5 mins then 5mins later I was told my coffee would be 25 mins as they had ONLY JUST turned on the coffee machine. Asked me if I wanted a cold drink whilst I waited so, even tho I didnt really want one, I said I'd have a lemonade as it seemed they were offering it for their error. They then brought the lemonade and told me it was £2.80. I refused to pay for it and explained it was their ertor. The waitress walked away. Within 5 mins my coffre arrived, no apologies, and then she said to me (clearly the Manageress) was I paying for the lemonade by cash or card!! I explainef, again, why I wasn't paying for it. I was told in no uncertain terms that the lemonade was, in no way, an apology! Her attitude was Wful. Dreadful service and manageress!!

We visited the Kingfisher on Sunday 9th July for lunch to celebrate my husbands birthday. We were greated upon arrival and shown to our table (we prebooked via telephone). Service was good during our visit and the food was absolutely wonderful. All our choices were delicious and the childrens portions were generous too. It was a great experience, having been to 2 other venues earlier in the year we had been extremely disappointed with service and food so we were a little apprehensive about trying somewhere else but OMG I cannot recommend highly enough. Congratulations for the recent award too, very well deserved. We will definitely call again.

Fantastic place... nothing bad to say about the kingfisher. Worth a visit ...food is fabulous, the place itself is extremely nice and the staff are excellent. *Update* came back a couple of weeks later and I'm still as impressed as I was initially. I love the attention to detail and that's what makes it one step ahead of the competition. We are seated and drinks order taken straight away,which I appreciate. Staff are really friendly but not hovering.They have good knowledge of the menu and orders are taken at your table ...it's somewhere we will most definitely make a regular haunt

This place is absolutely shocking I got a Sunday roast and it was absolutely disgusting Packet mash Frozen veg The turkey was awful and I paid extra to have cauliflower cheese This came with a bowl of cauliflower and some watery sauce poured onto it at a cost of £2.50 for this We waited 50 minutes to be served our meal and we would have waited longer if I hadn’t got up to ask if we had been forgotten I was absolutely disgusted at the price of this awful meal I could have got packet mash and frozen veg myself and cooked it The gravy was very watery as well Stay away from this place THE KINGFISHER AT KIRKHAM VERY SLOW SERVICE AND VERY POOR FOOD!!!!

Was your typical pub grub type of experience wasn't disappointed but wasn't amazing either. It's great value for money however and the staff are great.
