There was a party on at the time in the lounge area with live music. The lady singing was excellent and the bar staff were friendly and helpful. Great experience

Frankly this was a soulless experience. We came because we had our first date here 44 years ago (just celebrated 40 years of marriage) so were glad to see the Bell & Bottle was still there. The place is tired and dated. Table was tacky due to the varnish on it being old and peeling. Menus were sticky. Ordered using the QR code as no one came to serve. Husband had steak & ale purchase he said was ok. I had sirloin steak medium. Tough, tasteless and gristly. Presentation dreadful, all served on a plate with peas swimming in water, cheap oven chips, cold pre cooked tiny sliced mushrooms and a sauce described loosely as “Diane” for an extra £2 🤷‍♀️ the place is run by young staff who were polite but didn’t come near us to clear the table or ask if we wanted anything else. I took half the steak home to give to my dog and left everything else. No one asked why? Sadly given our first very happy visit all those years ago this trip down memory lane was diabolical!

Visited for drinks and was pleasantly surprised by the improvement since my last visit. Kayla in particular was exceptional, happy to help, efficient and smiling. She is like a breath of fresh air. Thank you Kayla for making my visit so pleasurable.

The Scampi, Fish and Lasagne was liked and enjoyed so recommended and would return here if in the area again.

Well we're do I start! Was more or less empty when we arrived for a snack to eat..Tables grubby and sticky ..ordered a prawn cocktail. I mean you can't get that wrong,, can you? .My son had chicken wings with peri sauce. Side of chips. Took ages to arrive but thought ohhhh well its going to be good..My sons was served in a miniature tin pie dish and to my amazement as was my prawn cocktail! Prawns a mere few sat on a mere mixture of old onions lettuce and cucumber gone off. Absolutely disgusting to look at. 1 slice of old stale granary bread .Think been left out as was starting to toast itself. PRAWNS didn't look good so I decided to just not try. I felt insulted. Sons chicken wing were ok and frozen chips arrived ok. Lol what on earth is going on. More staff than customers. Did complain to staff sitting down instead of cleaning grubby sticky tables.No reply just stares.yukkkkkkķk avoid. I wish I could add a picture to show you.

The service and staff were very polite. Joe was exceptional. Very polite, very friendly and chatty, patient, attentive and very helpful. He stood out as caring for his customers and making sure their visit was spot on. The Bombardier cask ale was in excellent condition and so it seems the staff are keeping a very good cellar and looking after the cask ale well. Whilst we were a large group of 10, the speed of service was great and all of our food came out in good time, even with quite a few other visitors having sit down meals. The food was good and we all enjoyed our meals. Overall we had a very pleasant visit and came back again two days later as a result, whilst we were on holiday nearby.

On Friday there are no offers so you’re going to get your pants pulled down on cost straight off. Won’t make that mistake again. Music wasn’t too loud so that was good. Fish was ok and quite tasty but only a few chips and dismal mushy pea portion. No bread and butter - well, it only costs £13 odd - I’m obviously expecting the earth. Cokes not unlimited like in Toby Carvery so that is rubbish as well. For nearly 14 quid I want to have need to look out over the chip pile and not feel hungry afterwards. Stop with the tight portions. WW2 is over.

Stopped in for lunch,well pleased,great food,good service and ok prices. Would deffo go again,but not local.

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. Don't bother asking for a large Sunday roast (more meat and an extra Yorkshire pudding) they aren't doing them. Defys logic! However if I am honest don't waste your money. Roast potatoes not home made straight out of a bag and soggy. Not sure if the turkey was recently connected to a bird. The peas were the best thing on the plate. The chef needs to add some flavour to their dishes. I know they have to reduce salt but even adding salt there was no flavour. Beef was OK. Yorkshire puddings are not difficult yet appeared to have previously been frozen and were strangely chewy. Had anyone bothered to come and ask how our meal was I would have told them all of the above. A place like that on a Sunday should be bouncing and I'm afraid there is clearly a reason why it's not.

Roadworks & traffic jams on M55 motorway! So took a detour and found this wonderful pub! Spacious car park! Pleasant staff on the bar & very tasty loaded fries with draught guiness of course!!! Good prices too! Will call again when visiting Blackpool!!!

The staff are pleasant enough but I don't agree with having to get your own menu cutlery and condiments , but it appears that a few pubs are going down this route. I might be old-fashioned but we think when you are seated in the dining area you expect to be served. Food is of the usual pub franchise quality nothing to get excited about but it is edible The drinks were two pint bitter Shandy's And a latte coffee which was all good. When we were there it was mid-afternoon and the place was quiet..

We had a roast dinner here today the food was piping hot beautifully cooked nicely presented .I had roast beef my husband roast chicken it was the nicest Roast we have had in a long time staff always polite and welcoming well worth a visit for a tasty meal thankyou .

We, as a party of 5 come here, as ex colleagues to meet every 3 months. Tried out the QR code for the first time, we had great fun. Disappointed that the mac and cheese wasn't on. All the other dishes were thoroughly enjoyed. Lots of extras to add on, when ordering but disappointed that I couldn't ask for extra custard. All told, we had an excellent night.

Chicken kebab was inedible, cutting the 'meat' and it was just fat. Did receive a refund but I am still hungry as I did not eat a meal. Manager (I guess) did say he wanted the menu to be changed to reflect this as it is, apparently, a chicken thigh. I cannot recommend this place as, in my opinion, it is not worth recommending. I won't be returning

Unfortunately not a great 2nd experience here for my family and friends even with a 30% discount code that came through the post. Multiple items were out of stock, staff were unable to customise a child's meal and the wait for food was pretty awful 40 mins plus. The food isn't of any decent quality and overall the the price paid didn't match the experience, I felt that I had overpaid. Unlikely to return unless something noticeable changes.

Great food, great staff and great atmosphere

We went for my dad's birthday who is in recovery of lung cancer he really enjoyed his meal and thank you for making him feel special with a candle in his desert much appreciated we will definitely be back many thanks Denise

What a shame! The young lady behind the the bar was doing the work of 2/3 people as she was on her own. This caused a family to quit waiting and just left! The lass did her best with a big smile and cracked on flush faced. The food. I had lasagne which unfortunately was just awful! No flavour or substance to it at all I'm afraid but the chips were OK. Decaf coffee is of the instant type, again not good. It's such a pity to have a large eatery just down the road from us that operates on a shoe string especially at holiday times. It always looks busy when we pass and so we decided to try it..., I doubt very much we'll be back. Great for a quick pint and a very basic bite to eat (if your not in any rush) let me but defiantly not in my book for a decent meal. I havnt tried the carvery as it wasn't on but I have heard its pretty good?? Apologies for the down review guys but it is what it is on this occasion, as we found it.

Read reviews was unsure whether to visit Bell & Bottle, so decided to go and see for ourselves it was fantastic, very welcoming on entry, girls on duty on Tuesday 28th May were amazing never stopped always busy,polite. Sat at table 4 ordered 2 mixed grills, cooked to perfection, piping hot, big thank you to chef and kitchen staff. Been going to Leafage for 20 years but no more definitely be returning to Bell & Bottle again,again and again great place, clean absolutely loved it Thank you Julie & Paul

Went for lunch today and a young lady member of staff was juggling everything from the bar, to orders, to serving on her own. She did amazingly well and we actually didn't wait long for our food. There were,however, one or two customers who despite being able to see she was doing her best ,decided to complain about a wait and making negative comments very loudly as they walked past....totally unnecessary and only done as they were ' expecting' a long wait when they could see it was busy and only this young lady covering....wait wasn't any longer than what would be usual for a pub .....so for us everything was great and we were happy with our service.

Was looking forward eat here on Friday 3rd May around 7:30pm.After bit of queue jumping by locals which the bar staff didn't seem interested in I was then informed I would have a minimum 40 minute for my food and that's before I had even given my order. I didn't hear anyone else being advised of this and therefore me and my wife walked out and went to the Ribble Pilot instead.

It's been [at least 12] years since we've dined here because the food quality declined. It used to be such good food. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our revisit. Although our meals looked appetizing when they arrived we soon found them to be lacking. The chicken on my open wrap was slimy dark meat which was hidden by a loaf of watercress and sauces and the fries were shrivelled up, dry and rick hard. I left most of my meal. My partner's pie had stodgy pastry and he said it was very bland without much meat, the peas hard. He didn't eat all of his either. We won't be visiting again. Very disappointed. Staff pleasant enough. Surroundings are clean and tidy. Plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible.

Not the best to be honest, wanted a mega mixed grill was told they only had the normal mixed grills. Asked for a jacket potato with mine instead of chips which was totally zapped in the microwave and was a shrivelled joke of a potato, bit of a joke really god knows what the chef was thinking. Thank god we enjoyed our ice cream sundaes because everything else was average (apart from my jacket potato) which was inedible and hard. Will i return to this Marstons pub, No unfortunately not !!!! We always eat at Marstons pubs and i can honestly say this was the worst one we’ve tried, giving it 3 stars out of 5 is being kind :(

The staff were expecting us and did not hassle us even though 2 people from our party were late. They were lovely and let us know when we had to order food before it was too late. We had a lovely evening.

On entrance the establishment looked welcoming. My son got there before me and was age challenged after requesting an alcoholic drink but did not have his ID ( he is 19 years old) which I found appropriate. We ordered at the bar and paid with a receipt requested. Our food came quite quickly and looked appetising. Description of food could be improved as I ordered chicken kebab and it was all fatty thigh meat which I couldn’t eat,I was thinking it was chicken breast. I mentioned this to the lady who collected our plates and she said “sorry”

Great disappointment really. Was looking forward to a good family meal. Some starters and mains unavailable. Got the sharing platters for starters. They were OK but certainly not worth the price at all. Mains were disappointing too. Kids had soggy cucumber sticks we had to send back. I upgraded to 'large fries' on the burger. Convinced they weren't large. If they were large, glad I didn't have normal. Wife had a steak but looking at the typical cheap chunky frozen chips, so glad I didn't have it. Service was reasonable but wasn't busy. Some food left over on all plates. All in all, disappointment. Not been for ages. Sadly will be looking elsewhere. 21 may 2024 review.

Pretty good food with good service. Arrived at 7pm and it was very crowded, but soon thinned out and we didn't have to wait too long for our dinners.

Service was ok, welcome not brilliant

Had to wait to get to bar in small queue to find our reserved table. Ordering food and drink was good. Food came out in timely manner. Mushrooms were very over cooked. Also our steaks were requested as medium and both came out on the rare side. Both of these we fed back at the time.

A great place to stop for a meal or just a drink. Whereas this is a chain pub, the staff are lovely and it has a great atmosphere.

Perhaps the best Sunday roast in a 40-mile radius of Blackpool and Preston, no joke, tried many and keep coming back again and again. Decided to try on a weekday (Friday, alas no specials, but check out their site / menu for weekday specials) as I was passing. Same dedication to customer service, amazing staff, and that's every single visit be they packed to the rafters or 3:30 on a Friday afternoon. The food... OMG, the food quality, well duh, why do I come back? Liberal portions, additional bits added (kinda' off menu for that item as long as it's on another item = no problem) It's family-friendly (for all ages) but one of the greatest things outside of staff & food is that it's SPOTLESS... This has to be the cleanest place from floor to ceiling, from door to bathrooms I've encountered outside of a 5 Star restaurant / hotel restaurant. If you are close, pop in. If you're far away, it's worth the drive.

Function room booked for our wedding reception. The buffet was fabulous. Lots of choice. Everyone complimentary. Bar staff excellent, service prompt. Special thanks to Matt for ensuring everything was relaxed and sorted. Cannot thank them all enough.

Made a last minute decision to come for lunch and so glad we did. Friendly staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and explained how to either order at the bar or order on the app which was very easy to use and convenient. The food came out promptly and was piping hot and delicious! We will definitely be back again, can’t wait to try out the Sunday Roast!!

Overall atmosphere was great, the staff were lovely, drinks were great, food was amazing the kitchen staff did a great job, food came out quick and was nicely presented and tasted great. Would defo recommend the desserts, they came out quick and the food runners were super friendly too. Can’t complain, great pub, would visit again soon.

Great service and lovely food. Came for my daughters 12th birthday and staff very helpful putting balloons on table we brought during the day and happy to bring cake out for her. Party of 9 and everyone loved the food ...would recommend

We stopped by on the way past for a bite to eat, it was relatively busy but the staff were friendly. We ordered burgers and were served by Matt who told us about the burger and rink deal which was great value. The food came out pretty quickly and was great, we really enjoyed our burgers. We will definitely be back again soon.

Steak was a little cold. Assistance dog originally directed out back "but she's a working dog, and assistance animal?" Said I. Oh you can sit in the dinning room if you really must, but for the other patrons sake we'd rather you sat out there. So we sat "out there" and a little fat French bull Dog came along (not a working dog.) but it was allowed in the dinning room??? Bar ladies were lovely.

Me and my family came across this pub after a day out at Blackpool Zoo today. What a lovely friendly pub staff was brilliant polite and very good at their job. Food was 10/10 would highly recommend and when we are ever at Blackpool again we will definitely pop in again thank you to all staff Angela

This place has a review of only 3.9 read ALL the comments in ref to this venues Sunday roast dinners before dining here as these are a true reflection of peoples comments “a mixed bag” in reality and the way the venue has reacted proves this taking the matters personally Tv Presenter food reviewer and influencer Jonathan Thompson below reviews are balanced and reflect not just his opinion but the opinions of many on this establishment they have been asked to put this right by head office and still have not dine here at your own risk as a place that isn’t fit needs a serious refit and has constantly gone down hill as the review underneath this reflects Google other places in the area such as the Lea gate /Ribble pilot /ship and Freckleton rather than dine here because it needs staffing attention to bring back it’s carvery (not plated) but it cannot because it doesn’t have the footfall because it’s service slipped down and down after the pandemic serving sub standard meals this isn’t matts fault it’s an issue with the staff hired who don’t want to be there ! They need to think before posting comments such as the below it’s a clearly example of instead Of working with the customer a poor attempt at defending themselves with no apology which is all too typical as comments have said independently of myself the place sadly has “slipped down considerably” from when it was pre pandemic as the reviews show people are all too agressive When challenged when then know ONLY too well all grown adults themselves this behaviour isn’t acceptable “barring someone” where a lot of my friends in the local community also come who will it be as they were waiting for the response which was expected below 👇 is only too typical of a place looking to claw back its financial figures because of the losses nursed as the local community shunts them and eats elsewhere refit wasn’t mentioned or the need for because they know only too well it’s needed it’s Not about the roast dinners it’s about the lack and failiure of service received and the fact no one tells the customers until they have sat down items aren’t on the menu the calories issue is a nonsense they simply didn’t want to do the vegetables and another dish through lack of kitchen staff which they regularly suffer here

Love the bell the staff are very friendly and polite especially the manager who is a lovely gentleman, the food is really nice and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

Visited with 2 friends we all thought our meals were excellent & good value,the overall atmosphere was good, not like some of the places we visit on a weekly basis. We will definitely be back to see you again

My husband and I visited. We ordered via the Q code on the menu. We both had soup to start. I had leek and potato and hubby had the tomato. Both were delicious and the warm crusty bread was great too. I then had chicken and mushroom pie. It was very much 70% pastry but was very tasty just could of done with thinner pastry. My husband had cheese burger and didn’t like the way the burger was cooked he said it tasted watery as a result he only ate half. He loved the fries and burger sauce tho. The pub was quite busy which was good to see. Have to say that sat behind my husband were another couple and I suspect the lady had some sort of dementia. Your staff were absolutely lovely to her and treated her with respect and dignity. It was lovely to see. If for no other reason we will be back because of your fab staff.

Excellent friendly service from walking in to going out. Food was good too. Didn't have to wait long in between courses. Nice and clean too

its starters are from iceland and the fish and chips, bounce. try yourself youll know what i mean , and cost 13 quid. dont waste your money, go the local chippy, be cheaper and fresher, no one answers the phone. dont waste your time or money. its all deep fried food.

Had a great time and great experience for my 30th Birthday meal. Food was great value for money and absolutely delicious. I had Mac and cheese with the BBQ pulled pork extra. Highly recommend and will be returning very soon.
