Really disappointed. Men's toilets were flooded ... pints expensive. Staff were okay. Green king is not worth it. It was better when it was Admiral :(

Food was outstanding well worth making the trip

Needed wheel chair access today.This pub provided this. We ordered food fish and chips with peas and I ordered a scampi with garden peas coffee and a Diet Coke. We had to wait almost an hour for food.This was unacceptable. I was not even told there was quite a wait for food.Because we would not have stayed as I had my elderly mother with us. My order was wrong because fish came out instead of scampi. Did go back to the assistant but she insisted I ordered fish.

Visited around 12 noon today, not very busy, pleasant staff at bar who took our orders for food and drink. Waited almost 1hr to get the food. No apologies, had to chase order. Food was reasonably priced, especially the Senior Citizens choice. Food was ok when it eventually came, but goodness knows how long it would take in the summer months! Wasn’t too impressed by the number of dogs allowed into the place, like a vets!

Waited 30mins for food which was nice in the end, the guy serving us was nice, but needed to read the room he tried making a joke which would be fine but we had waited 30mins for food and after waiting another 30mins for a dessert

Sweetcorn was still quite frozen, chicken undercooked, burger undercooked, no apology from staff. Bad guts shortly after. You could not even pay me to go and eat in there again. Bar staff nice but waitress couldn’t care less.

Waited an hour for our starter. Now it has been another hour to have the main. Ordered the senior menu.

Bumping up my review again based on my most recent visit. Everything was available and the service was excellent. Food was good and reasonable prices too!

Once ordered food came quickly and did not disappoint. Had 2 mains for £12.49 Steak and Ale Pie and Hunters Chicken. Both arrived quickly, delicious, hot and very much enjoyed

Went for a meal for my birthday the staff were fantastic. Sang me happy birthday. Food was lovely too. Will definitely come again. Huge thanks to paul for making my birthday special

First time visiting. Great service. Especially Paul. Came in with my wife and 3 children. My youngest son is autistic and wasn't settled. Paul came over and spoke to him, brought some colouring and stickers, he even managed to make my son laugh! Great environment. Quiet but also very welcoming and child friendly. Would recommend.

Came here for some tea after a nice day in Blackpool. I ordered the xl mixed grill, and my partner had the halloumi flatbread with cheesy chips. My partner said she really enjoyed her meal. However, my xl mixed grill failed to meet satisfaction. As you can see in the picture, my eggs were way overcooked, and my steak, although I asked for it to be medium rare it came out more like medium well. After 5 minutes, the server came back and asked how the food was. I commented on the steak and eggs, and she offered to bring me another egg and steak. However, I politely refused another steak as I had lost confidence and assumed they wouldn't get it right again. After another 5 minutes or so, my replacement egg came out, which was cooked properly. However, at this point, I had pretty much finished my meal. The skillet it came on looked professional and nicely presented. However, after taking the meat off the skillet side, I was met with watery, soggy, supposedly fried onions. I've never been to a greene king before, and I don't think I ever will.

Ordered a mixed grill and xl mixed grill which both came extremely over cooked as we asked for medium rare but got it over cooked. My partner only ate chips and egg due to all meat been over cooked.

It's a tasty food , great service , lovely staff and a good pub.

I attended a wedding party. There were about fifty or so people there. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Later there was a local band that’s when the place went electric. Brilliant food, wonderful staff and good food. Thank you Lord Darby for a brilliant day.

Hosted my mother’s wedding reception this past weekend and it’s was brilliant a big thanks to all the staff who were amazing it’s made her day that much more special well done and thank you.

Ben behind the bar searched the whole pub to reunite my bank card with me. Like a doughnut, I'd left it in the machine !! What a guy ....... Great pub, good atmosphere, come and share a pint in here , you'll not regret it 👌

The only place to be in St Annes is always friendly great value for money and most important dog friendly. Served by Paul today very helpful

The steak and ale pie was brilliant. Best I've had and good value for money. Service is warm and welcoming. On the down side, I'm not a fan of dog friendly pubs.

We had roast lunch only food was poor, especially roast potatoes which were old warmed up looked like from day before it's a shame location realy good you can take dogs in a bonus but food let's it down

Had lunch there today with three friends and Lizzi my dog. Lovely kunch and very reasonable. Used the bogoff so even cheaper than we were expecting. Lovely and warm and welcomed nicely by Paul. Paul looked after us beautifully and had dog treats in his pocket which Lizzi loved. So much better than wetherspoons who are firmly against dogs. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the warm and kind atmosphere that Paul provided. Lizzi loved him too. Thanks very much. We will be back. PS this was our first visit here. Been to shovels and Eagle...in bispham but this was by far the nicest welcome 🙏 Please see this as reviews from 4 people as I'm writing on behalf of us all. Thanks. Excellent value for money (January special) good food and very friendly bar staff

Great experience at this pub today whilst on a midweek break with my wife at St Annes. Paul, who was running the bar on his own most of the time at lunchtime, couldn't do enough for us, and was all over the place helping less-able customers and paying good attention to us. The food was good too; hot and plentiful and great value for money.

Food was cooked beautifully, fresh and tasty. The bar staff Paul and Helen were lovely, friendly and helpful

Visit regularly and never had a bad experience, amazing service amazing food and the perfect atmosphere to get out of the cold today, perfect place to watch the football, have a drink with a scrumptious food! Served by Paul today who gave some Brilliant jokes which I'll be using and ensured nothing was too much trouble....the pub will always been highly recommend by us!

Always the go to place for family meal because can take our beautiful pooch with us. Great food and service for us and She fully enjoys her chicken and steak from the doggy menu and all the extra fuss and attention from paul and the other staff. So, The Lord Derby. Initially felt it was going to be a serve locals first even if the bar staff was aware I was waiting. This did happen once. Once the bar staff relaxed with a new face, absolutely great service. It has to be said all the Greene King's I visit are expensive regardless of where they are in the UK. Their are cheaper pub chains out their, the Sizzling Steak Chain is an example and offer the same sort of experience. Pluses: The Lord Derby is dog friendly and pets are welcome. On my visit their was live entertainment. Minuses: A 50p charge to add an extra shot of blackcurrant cordial to a pint of cider and black. You can get an extra bit of blackcurrant cordial in a Sizzling Steak for nothing at the moment. Summary: if their is a another pub nearby a Greene King that you fancy and is cheaper go to that.

Steak and Ale pie with mash, peas and gravy was gorgeous. So good I got it twice, with one to takeaway thanks to Paul behind the bar!

We only came down to Lytham due to a concert happening in Blackpool and needed somewhere to crash. We noticed the Lord Derby and decided to go and get some grub before hand. All in all the food was good and well priced for what we got! We had fantastic service from our waiter Paul, who kept us topped up on drinks and satisfied during our visit! Would definitely recommend for a cheaper and more relaxed evening eating out.

When in st annes we always use the lord derby for a couple of meals and usually happy with the food. Unfortunately our recent visit was a letdown. We both ordered the hunters chicken skillet. It was delivered without the fried onions which makes it juicy and it was in on a 🍽️ Ynot a skillet. The chicken portion was much smaller than previous visits and extremely tough like it had been boiled.

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Friendly and attentive service. Couldn't ask for more thanks to Paul and Ben.

Dog friendly, the manager absolutely loved my girl and brought her a bowl of water. Food was delicious and great value for money. When I mentioned that I was going to share some of my dinner with the dog he brought her a bowl of her own 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Really impressed with this Green King pub, I eat out at least once a week on my day off, my favourite meal is Steak and Poached Eggs, I always ask if I can have poached instead of fried and usually the answer is “no, fried only” this place did me poached and on serving the food I asked the server to thank the chef for me - the server said the chef was pleased to make them. I plan to eat here on my day off each week. Thank You

Had a lovely meal in here mac and cheese with garlic bread and chicken strips and chips n curry sauce with drinks meal a whole lot better than Mondays 2 mains for £12 what's not to like and bar staff were fantastic tonight nice beer and lovely desserts tonight food came piping hot and nice and quiet night staff asked any allergy also

Food was just OK to be honest with you food was all hot and warm and the fish was flaky but batter was so thin i couldnt taste anything but for 12 pounds for 2 what do you expect drinks was reasonable priced and staff were ok but were stretched as the other colleague was on his break but it eased out later on in the evening so average scores for me will come back again for 2nds and dessertss were fantastic though and nice pint of morretti and coke for the missus

Pretty quiet mid afternoon, real alepoor choice, and strenth not impressed not in hurry to go back.

The meal didn't match the pic in the menu. Got 4 half roasties as opposed to 6 etc. That said the rib of beef was good and overall good value for money. Enjoyed the Rioja. We would eat here again.

Always welcoming and child- friendly, my “local” when we’re in St Anne’s. Great atmosphere good food. Special mention to Paul who is there on Friday nights- was great with the kids and went all out to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves.

Really disappointed in the food quality & portions. Food portions very small for the price. I ordered the fully loaded chicken & chips with chip chop curry. Partner ordered millionaire burger - see photos. Ordered 3 drinks (Diet Coke) and it was more ice than drink 🥤. Pub really gone down hill since our last visit! The pub smells of damp and looking a little grim. Only good note were the staff. Very polite and helpful. Will not be returning and would not recommend at all. EDIT…….. Following the comment from lord Darby. We went to another put that has the same menu - see image 3rd image of how the food should have looked. - no we will never be returning

Lovely pub..really nice staff..food ok had better but you get what you pay for..place is buzzing in summer..parking can be a problem especially in summer..really benches should be moved in winter..there is a slide for kids when weather nice..pool table ..fruit machines..worth a visit..

Paul recommended the boneless wings on the chick n mix meal and it was great decision they where so much nicer than the chicken nuggets I was going to choose. Would 100% recommend!

Nice tasting food but cold, steak very overcooked as it was maybe waiting on skillet to be served to us, hence medium steak very overcooked. Staff haven't asked us how our meal was either.

First time in the pub, lovely welcome, plenty of tables and quiet spots to eat. Music at a lovely level.. the dog even got a rub from what I am guessing was the manager. Approached the dog in a very pleasant manor making sure it was okay to touch etc… 2 for £12.49 meals and the pie was one of the best I’ve tasted! Good size for the price and cooked to perfection, I wish you all the best. Look forward to becoming new regs.
