Fantastic find! Loved the cosy retro decor. Food was reasonably priced and fantastic! Lovely fresh fish and chips. Service was excellent.

What a fantastic gem of a chippy. Fantastic fish and chips, cooked to perfection. Crispy batter and chips with a slight crunch and fluffy on the inside. You won't be disappointed with the flavour.

Shocked to see how this lovely fish & chip shop which was ran by John & Anita for many years has now been give a zero by the food standards agency after they retired What are the new owners doing to have received a zero - “urgent improvement necessary “

Fish and chips is a rare treat for me and I have just enjoyed one of the best cooked plates of fish and chips I have had in a long time. The batter was lovely light and crisp, the fish perfectly steamed within it. The chips were again crisp on the outer edges and soft inside. This place uses proper beef dripping which clearly gets changed regularly and the result is excellent. Lovely flavour! I will be back repeatedly 😊

After reading an article in the paper I had to give this place a try. Not a bad fish and chips by any means, chips were slightly soggy but tasted fine, fish was crispy.

We had haddock and chips to take out today, the server was very attentive and took our order professionally. Our fish and chips were excellent, great batter, perfectly cooked fish with hot chips. Very happy lunchtime.

According to recent articles in the press this is one of the best chippies in the country, so as it's local I had to try it out. I'm very much underwhelmed. I had a regular fish and chips. The fish - cod - was ok, nice crisp batter but the fish itself was a bit 'wet'. The chips on the other hand were very soggy and not at all enjoyable. Sorry, but this isn't even the best chip shop in St Anne's.

Off the main streets but glad we discovered it. Will definitely be back again

Just outstanding. I am staying in St Anne’s and searched for ‘Best fish and chips’. Found ‘The Haven’, but didn’t realise they were about to close. They stayed open for me and served up outstanding fish, chips and peas, with tea and bread and butter. Superb food and service and all for an unbelievable £10.50 on the specials menu.

After doing a quick search for a chippy with sit down facilities this place seemed to tick all the boxes so in we went for our Friday night chippy tea. We really wanted to like The Haven as the lad serving us seemed really nice and the restaurant area was great. Unfortunately though the food was well below average. The chips were undercooked, tasteless watery fish/batter and the same for the mushy peas. I think my wife’s pie was probably straight from the microwave as the pastry had gone hard and stale like. Not great afraid. Hope things improve as the lad seemed genuinely keen and proud of his place.

Not been in this chippy for many months now. Was fairly good when I first came to live here 2022. Only quibble was lady on counter licking her fingers to open carrier bags. Yuk! Then a man and young lad took over. Service was bad. Neither of them knew anything about hygiene or even how to use a microwave. The older man was carrying raw sausages with his bare hands, and didn’t wash them after. The food was always cold. The storage section for the chips did not have the lid closed. When I complained that previous order had not been hot the guy told the young lad to put my pie in the microwave for an extra minute. Result? It came out like a rock. (As anyone who uses a microwave would know) Tried once or twice since but still the same. The last time I went in I ordered and paid. I checked one of the chips before they wrapped them and found they were cold again and asked for my money back. The lad told me it was my fault as I always came toward the end of their opening time. What a cheek!!! They shouldn’t be open if the food is not fit to serve. What’s happened to “the customer is always right”? Suggest you get your meal elsewhere if you don’t want food poisoning.

Really excellent chippy. The lads working at the counter were friendly and helpful, the food was freshly cooked and it was full of flavour. We got a regular haddock and chips and a small cod and chips, along with a barm. Everything was portioned generously. The fish was crisp and flaky, the chips were fresh and flavourful. I have to say it again: really excellent chippy. We will be back, thank you!

OMG THESE CHIPS ARE PERFECT, freshly cut from the potato and not ordered in from a supplier. The new owner is a really nice person who cares about food quality. I’ll be coming here from now on. Prices are very reasonable for the quality British fish and chip standards we all expect.

Sought this place out after seeing it recommended in local press 30 miles away. I was not disappointed. It’s a very basic little cafe and chip shop but I went for the food - and that was FANTASTIC. Greeted by a coupe of young men who took care of everything we needed and were attentive from start to finish. The prices were very reasonable and when the food turned up it was FANTASTIC. I had large cod and chips special which comes with FANTASTIC mushy peas, bread and butter and a brew, the others had normal cod and chip specials. All were FANTASTIC. Yeah, FANTASTIC. So, if you want a FANTASTIC bite to eat with great service then try the FANTASTIC Haven Chippy - it’s FANTASTIC. FANTASTIC.

It’s been a while since I visited this restaurant - 2019 in fact. It’s under new leadership, so I was interested in how I’d find it. We were greeted by two gentlemen who were polite throughout and provided prompt service. My dad had a pensioners fish and chips and I had the regular haddock and chips. I can’t speak highly enough of the quality of food - lovely chips and the fish was delicious. I will definitely be returning for more, even though it’s a 60 mile journey for me. Well done chaps! PS - I have a massive appetite and was really impressed by the generous portions.

Highly rate this fish and chips, food was tasty (chips were not over cooked or overly processed - not too much fat) fresh fish from fleetwood and atmosphere was relaxed. Locals arriving as soon as it opened, which shows it has popularity in the neighbourhood. Very much recommend

Very disappointed, been a few times since the new guys took over. Always hit and miss. Last time though it all went in the bin. They need to change the oil and the fish tasted of nothing. The picture if of the tray the chips came in.

Yesterday I bought fish and chips and mushy peas to take away. The fish and chips were freshly done while I was there, and the mushy peas were home made like my mother made. The meal was the nicest fish and chips I have had for many years. Well done lads I will be back again next Friday.

It's a few years since we were last here and the Haven has changed hands in that time - following a favourable review in the Sunday Times we decided to give it another try. The fish and chips were OK if not the best we've ever eaten and the guys are obviously trying hard, but they could do with sprucing themselves up a bit (nice to see the chefs jackets but they could do with a good bleaching!) and being picky, the tea would have been nice in a teapot rather than a teabag in a mug. Good luck to them though.

We decided to start our visit to the switch on of the Blackpool Illuminations with a chippy tea and chose The Haven because of its status in the Times as one of the best nationally. It was superb! It's quirky and the food really is to die for. The service was outstanding and we loved every moment. We will definitely be back to the restaurant and for takeaway too. The Times has this place spot on.

We came across this place whilst in Lytham and it’s a bit of a hidden gem! Really generous portions and good prices. We had the regular special which was cod or haddock, chips, peas, bread and butter and a cup of tea or coffee for £10.50. They also do pies, cheeseburgers, chicken burgers etc. Staff very pleasant and helpful. There’s some tables for indoor seating in the back room and a toilet upstairs. Would visit again if in Lytham.

I bought from this chippy via your app , paid £16:50 for my tea with my young son and got nothing, the app showed the delivery was completed, i rang the chippy and was told there had been a mistake and the delivery driver messed up and was told my order will be with me shortly, 1 hour and 30 minutes later still no delivery, i then went to the actual shop which is 20 minutes walk away, it was closed and despite many attempts to contact them by phone 📱 it went onto Tesco answer phone, I was disgusted at how they treated me , I am going to ring them back tomorrow Saturday and hopefully they will either return my Apple Pay payment or give me what i paid for , never using that chippy again , terrible customer service 👎

Wots gone wrong here nothing right

We visited here from recommendations on Google and trip advisor, but we were disappointed. The chips were ok, didn’t taste of much, but the fish was watery inside the batter. The curry sauce was quite bland. The accompanied tea and bread were the best bit. Disappointing but I wish the young lads well.

Used to be great but it seems that the new owners can't handle any more than 2 people ordering at once. Last time I went they completely forgot my order....Won't go back.

Went in the other night, staff couldn't of been nicer even though they where rush off there feet. Food was lovely and a good price. Will be back again ☺️

The chippy/restaurant had a weird smell to it, couldn't put my finger on what it was but I've smelled it before, it wasn't nice. The fish served was clearly off, or contaminated with something. Tasted sour, not like fish, and smelled strongly of ammonia When we said we didn't like the fish, the guy just said "oh well, ok" and didn't seem to care, and then disappeared for 10 minutes so we just left We took the 2 drinks with us to take the taste out of our mouths and ate elsewhere, just hope we're not sick from the tiny amount we did eat

Visited for a take away as staying nearby, weren't sure of new set up so opted for chips to accompany our roast chicken. Previously recommended to friends and always made a point of having fish & chips in the quirky dining room. It was 6.00 pm and I had a feeling these chips were from lunch time, the sound of scraping up what was left should have rung alarm bells. Others were entering the shop and he was frying a new batch, in fairness I should have said we'll wait. We resurrected them in microwave as they were tepid in temperature & at £2.50 I felt cheated. So glad we didn't opt for our usual eat in with full meal. There's a programme on TV where Alex Politzi advises on sharpening up hotels & eateries, maybe the new people could catch up on the programmes. It could be a little goldmine and I wish the new owners a fulfilling and successful future. There were signs stating cash only (as before) and apparently no telephone number as yet. Really sad to be writing this review.

The Haven in St Anne's was one of my two Favourite 'chippers in Britain. The previous owners of Yorkshire / Italian descent provided the Best quality and quantity at prices which were from a bygone time. Alas, nothing stays the same in life The couple have retired and I wish them Good health. The new 'fryers'are two young entrepreneurs, who no doubt are positive and meaning well, but have so much to learn in a very short time or face a sinking feeling.

Food was nice, the decor is like going back in time which I found quirky. There were two other tables occupied and it was deathly silent. Had fish, chips and gravy.

We dont live locally and ive tried getting in contact with the shop directly, however, the shop has been under new management for a couple of months and the phone line is disconnected. We had fish chips and a drink on Friday, one of the cans of pepsi max we bought had a Best Before End of 2014. The taste was awfull. It does make me wonder if the have any other problems with BBE dates on anything more serious. Service was pretty slow and poor tbh. But food tasted ok. Be aware!

Called in at lunchtime following a recommendation and they were right!! Decent-sized fish (and that was just the regular!), lovely batter and proper chippy chips all freshly cooked and piping hot. It doesn’t get any better!

Called into the Cafe/Chippy today, It is under new Management 2 Men now own the family run business. My Partner had Fish Chips peas and Gravy. The Cod Fish was huge in proportion very tasty light batter cooked too perfection, the Chips Peas and Gravy where to devour very tasty to say these 2 men have just taken over the Cafe/Chippy and never been in this line of business before are doing remarkably well after such few days notice of taken over the Haven Cafe/Chippy I said to my partner that was so scrumptious I really truly enjoyed my Chips Peas and Gravy in this Review I will give them 5 stars they truly do outshine. This was an amazing chippy before to two new men took over. Chips are under cooked as well as the batter on the fish bites and fish. Been here 3 times in the past 2 weeks and the food was absolutely shocking, John would not let his standards drop so why are these two not keeping up with the standards. Also the young man who does the wrapping and till has no clue what so ever? He is kinda strange as he always talks to himself and panics at anything he does. You would give him a request and he would look and act like you are speaking a foreign language. I wouldn't mind but he has been there over a month now and he is still really, really bad.

After reading reviews decided to try this local chippy. Fish cooked to order regular haddock and battered sausage. Drove about 5 minutes to hol flat. Unfortunately batter was really soggy and greasy I can say some of the worst chips I've ever had underneath dripping in fat soggy and totally undercooked. I think it was towards end of lunchtime and these were the last of that batch . The reason why a 3 and not 1 the fish itself was lovely andthick after we had to take off most of soggy batter. Most of chips went into bin. Battered sausage fine and batter crispy. We will not be trying again. Might have been off day but had far better crispy fresh chips on pier cafe days ago which hasn't as good reviews.

The Haven is cracking fish and chip shop run by characterful people. We ordered the children's fish bites (4 fish bites) with chips and a drink for £3.80 for two & fish, chips and mushy peas for two with two bottles of water for just over £26 and it was lovely. Really fresh, great, flaky cod in lovely golden batter and every bit got demolished by our kids. Will go again next time we're in Lytham.

The male person taking orders completely ignored me for 10 mins whilst serving other customers. Eventually got served by the lady working the tills. Not sure if this was just poor customer service or because my brown skin. Didn’t feel welcomed at all. Would not come back.

Read the reviews and decided to have our lunch while visiting St Annes. My wife and I had the cod and chips which we really enjoyed. It was the best fish and chips I've had for a long time.Great service and value for money too. Nice people. We will definitely be back..

Cosy little restaurant behind the takeaway with friendly proprietors. Unusually for a F&C place they offer steamed fish in parsley sauce , This was beautifully cooked and I chose a generous portion of 3 large potato scallops as an alternative to chips.

Homely and the best cuppa for ages. Haddock chips peas curry sauce with bread and butter washed down with superb tea. Just what was needed in a miserable night.

I've lived here for 13 years and only found out during lockdown last year that The Haven does haggis. I eventually got my haggis supper last night and I was not disappointed. My folks enjoyed their jumbo sausage and scampi. Definitely coming back. May even sit in. Thank you. Looking forward to the next visit.

We have just moved to the area and are delighted to have found this chippy on our doorstep. We've had fish n chips twice now and it's to die for. Definitely one of the best chippy's I've been to. Staff all polite. The only downside for me is that it is cash only. I rarely use cash nowadays so have to go to the cash machine if we want a chippy treat. But that is just a minor gripe, it won't stop this being my regular go-to chip shop. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I found this lovely fish & chips restaurant in a back street of St. Annes and had fish and chips. They were very tasty and the lady serving us was welcoming and friendly. The portions are very big.
