Oliver's Chippy in Fylde

Visited here meals were very filling husband had chips fish and peas I had pie chips and gravy reasonably priced and food was delicious! Would recommend!

Good fish and peas but chips anaemic. Why can't chippies cook chips as they should be. Golden brown. Much better than white.

Friends of mine told me this was a great fish and chip shop so I gave it a go with my wife and grandsons. The chips were good, the curry sauce was very nice, but the fish was either overcooked or had been sitting in the warmer for a while. It was actually quite difficult to cut it was so firm. Bit disappointing for nearly £10 for fish and chips. It was a Tuesday night so probably not much turnover.

Usually it's brilliant from here. But got fish and chips last night and it's given me food poisoning, as well as my wife, both been sick all through the night and feel awful today. Won't be coming back after that

I’ve been to this chippy at least 10 times. The service and the atmosphere were good as always, unfortunately the past couple times the food has been pretty poor which is a real shame

Always lovely food from this place. Very filling and always piping hot. The truffle chips are delicious for an extra £1.50, but so worth it when there's enough of the truffle oil on them.

Overly priced, the chips were hard and the gravy well....just ok. Disappointed really, not a true chippy as such served in boxes ?

I visit family who live in Warton regularly & always make sure we either eat in or get a takeaway. The food is hot, delicious & generous portions; prices are reasonable too, can't recommend highly enough 😋

As a regular visitor to the area for 2 years I have tried this chippy a number of times. I would normally have the fish, I have had the fish bites, with chips and/or curry. The staff are friendly and the owner a very nice guy to chat with. It is very clean and modern looking. There is parking available on the front but can get a little busy. I have watched the staff interaction with other customers and children and they are always pleasant and polite with all. On to the food, I think you would struggle to get a better fish and chips than here. I have read some of the reviews and noted the one about only a few chips, this must be unusual error as I agree with another one that if anything, the portions are very large. The food quality has always been very good and the batter on the fish excellent. I have on one occasion had the rather oily experience one person noted but only one and I believe this was because they were so busy and everything came from the fryer straight into the box. I have used the delivery service a number of times and it is excellent value. The food always comes hot and quickly. I also like the fact that with the exception of the lids all item used are recyclable. So, all great, try them if you are around and I am sure talking to the owner over the last couple of years that if you do have a problem he would sort it. Hope you find this review helpful.

Best chips ever but over £5 for a jumbo sausage and regular chips... far too expensive.. Will not call again.. this is a total rip off... food is good but at a too high price no wonder it was so quiet at peak of lunchtime

Truffle is the way to go with chips

Just had lightly battered fish x 2 one with peas one with chips. Both fish very thin in particular the one with peas, although lightly battered very hard as very little fish to give it any real substance. Chips cool and peas the same had to microwave both of these. The packaging excellent and of high quality. Strikes me as all fur cost and no knickers... Very disapointing Will defo not recommend or visit again

*edit in reply to olivers chippy - I have bank statements proving I’ve visited your chippy and will be happy to submit them to Google to appeal your reports of my review * Generally a mixed bag the chips are horrendously oily every visit and the oil leaves a bad aftertaste, food is mainly F tier the general staff are really polite and great to deal with the place is generally very tidy despite the outside being a hazard when it gets wet or icy thanks to the ugly looking resin, equipment seems very well maintained pricing is questionable in general considering the chips are at best bulk bought from makro grade and far from the freshly cut from fresh potatoes you expect from a chippy, not the worst option you could pick for a lunch just avoid if you suffer from IBS or GERD because the oil 7/10 times will cause vomiting or severe reflux this isn’t the case with all chippies but one or two locally are very bad for it (review score isn’t lower purely based off that as it isn’t fair to judge from effects on health conditions the score is purely based off the general foods quality and taste) .

Food was ok, not many chips in my teams portions we had sausage and chips that was over cooked and dry! We wanted cold drinks and they was warm…. Service was fast! The only let down was the lads behind the counter! They never smile……… it make the atmosphere so low and not what should be felt when supplying a service to the greater public.

Ordered a small fish and chips for my lunch, the quality and taste of both the fish and chips was to a very high standard, my only gripe was not many chips, I thought it would be the fish that's small and chips normal size for £7. Maybe my mistake, but I will use again when I'm back in the area.

Great - couldn’t fault it! I got the small fish & chips with regular mushy peas (£7.80) and it was a good-sized portion and terrific quality. The shop itself is stylish and pleasant, and the staff are friendly. Really enjoyable food, served in a cardboard box with newspaper-style greaseproof paper which kept it fresh and hot. Highly recommended. Might try the cheese & onion pie next time. :)

This was are 1st visit to Olivers but not our last !!! We had 2 fish 2 large chips 1 pudding 2 gravy 1 peas between 3 of us and everything was perfect and the fish was so tasty and batter was light and beautiful great to see they are using the best local pies Lytham pies 👍👍 serice was faultless and friendly and very covid safe can't wait for our next visit ❤👌👏👏

Looked at price on list £1.75 for jumbo sausage with chips bought sausage on its own £2.30 felt ripped off will not use again

Fish and chips were great. If I was being really picky the batter on the fish was a little undercooked. Only reason for 4 stars is that it's quite pricey!

Walked in thought the food would have been ready none of it was had to wait for it to be cooked from scratch think it was the time of day also chips was under cooked and micro wave pies not 4 me thanks very disappointing I also remember when chippys stayed open till midnight not many left shame

Just stopped on my way home for Fish n Chips. As usual the chips were spot on lovely. However the fish was absolutely swimming in grease. I’m not exaggerating I cut into the fish and it poured out. I suspect the young lad didn’t give it more than 20secs to drain off. It’s a pity but for the sake of three or four minutes in the hit box would have made all the difference. I will stay away in future and use the competition.

Love this Chippy , I live in Blackpool, but when I go to my daughters in Warton it's a must place to go , the fish bites are amazing for kiddies , so much better than fish fingers . The staff are lovely & friendly , lovely clean place , I would recommend everyone to try it & you'll definitely return

We ordered a delivery tonight. First time trying this chippy. Couldn't fault it at all. We had fish and chips, reg chips, 2 kids sausage and chips large curry sauce. Everything including the curry sauce was hot even though delivery was almost two village's away.The fish was cooked perfectly and the batter was very tasty. The packaging is a nice touch too. Definitely be back.

Unbeatable, simply the best - lots of competition on this coast for great fish and chips including some coveted by 'top chefs', but they never visited 'Olivers Chippy' because if they had, this place would win hands down.

First time trying this chippy - definitely wont be the last! Absolutely delicious! Chatted with the owner while I waited for our fresh fish and chips, he gave is a taster of his truffle chips which were delicious. Definitely coming back. Our fish and chips were delicious, we ordered for our family so had an order of various items which all were cooked perfectly!

Just got back from spending £30 on a chippy tea, first time visit last month and it was great so returned today. This time chips were rock hard and couldn’t eat, fish falling apart with grease, skin everywhere, really bad and won’t be returning. Packaging and presentation looks good but awful food tonight Also the woman in front got served 1/2 portion chips instead of full, when she complained said it was because chips would take 8 mins to cook?!! Eventually refunded!

Had the special for Tuesday which is named Typhoon Tuesday, it consisted of 2 large fish, 1 large side and 1 large chips. It was more than enough for 2 people. Didn’t have any bread n butter with the meal as wouldn’t have been able to eat it. A very good deal for £11. Fish cooked fresh to order, well done to a young man named Thomas.

Visited recently. On my visits to Lytham I used to go to a certain fish shop in Lytham. Last time I was in there I was sadly disappointed and have read the recent poor reviews of the place. After reading the great reviews about Olivers i decided to take a 5 Minute drive to see if it was so good. Well I was amazed by the quality of the fish and chips. Fish firm, flakey,a good size in a light crispy batter. The chips were light and well cooked with good quality potatoes. It was all nicely presentd on a carton tray. I certainly will be back there next time I am in Lytham. I think the place also deserves a visit from Rick Stein

Fish and chips lovely but a tad expensive, the peas and curry outrageously expensive for portion size. Overall enjoyed the meal but £11.50 a bit expensive.

Good chippy. Nice people. Very clean. BEWARE! Microwave Pies. Many people are happy with soggy pastry. If you like a crust then give them a miss. Apparently they don't sell many pies. I wonder if it's because they're soggy? Steak pudding is a good alternative. Made from suet. Supposed to be soggy, completely different from a pie. Everything else is great!

You can't help but applaud that this chippy feed children for free, on certain days. Personally, I think the chips always seem slightly underdone & the curry sauce isn't pleasant, being the one that's similar to the godawful sultana filled abomination many chippy's stock. The smooth one isn't any more expensive & is much better,both in texture & flavour. However, that's personal preference & I happily use the place whenever I hanker for a chippy tea.

Just have lovely sausage and chips on the way home from Blackpool zoo.

Chips are fat as they get, fish are succulent and crispy at the same time, sauces are spot on and yet vegetarian..for this price this quality? Probably gonna tip next time.

Called in at Oliver’s chippy coming back from Wrea Green, had fish n chips in a recyclable box with a wooden fork. The fish was tasty and well cooked, not overdone 👏👏. Very pleasant and clean too , will definitely be going back 👏👏😋😋

Second visit to this little chippy in Warton. Travelling back to Blackpool from Preston we decided to go the old route via Lytham. Feeling hungry we decided to stop for some food. My partner had pudding, chips and curry sauce. The pudding was hot, full of meat. The curry sauce not spicy and no raisins. I had fish, chips, peas. The fish was beautiful, not chewy and just enough batter but not lightly like I usually have. I sampled the truffle chips which are tasty. About two hours passed and I had no indigestion from the batter which is what normally happens when I eat fish. The shop is clean, tidy, the staff welcoming and friendly. It doesn’t feel like you are in a chippy at all. We shall be back.

My first visit to Olivers was around 4 days ago as I was on my way back from Preston to Lytham and I thought I would pull in after hearing about a new chippy in Warton to pick my husband and I some food up for tea. First impression: very nicely decorated, shop kept very clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The prices were excellent and the quality of food was outstanding. I was even offered a sample of truffle chips whilst waiting for my made to order fish to be cooked. Yum yum I’ll definitely order truffle chips next time, such a unique menu item. I opted for the fish, chips and gravy deal and I picked up my partner pudding, chips and gravy. The fish had a very nice batter, perfect and not stodgy in comparison to other fish and chip shops, my partners pudding was hot and full of meat so flavourful. We both loved how fresh and hot the chips were and how delicious the gravy was. Everything was perfection and my partner and I agreed we would be back another time to try out more of the menu. I had steak pudding, the worst one I have purchased, It was water logged a pool of moisture in the top and Completely soggy and under cooked dough I could only eat the contents, I admit to purchasing puddings at Oscars previously with no complaints....

Having been a fan of the old chippy when "Whelans" moved in from lytham i was left dissapointed that our village no longer had a top quality chippy, this all changed when Olivers Chippy opened up. Great staff, Great management team Great Chippy In General!!!

Go in to this restaurant about once a month and have been very pleased with the food the staff are very friendly and do not get in a fluster at busy times .keep up the good service
