The best restaurants serving British food in England

Just moved to Barnsley and tried this little gem! Great food, all fresh and staff were lovely! Will definitely be returning!

Really nice to have a cup of coffee here, a goal for a walk. Great scones - cheese come with a slice of cheese and a chutney of choice. We sat outside as the weather was good - there were no tables available indoors at that point. And you need to book for breakfast and lunch, which is surprising at the premises are quite large. Not sure where you would leave your car if you came by car

Amazing place, staff very attentive, knowledgeable about their products and pleasant. We both had steak and sides and were not disappointed. The cocktail choice was extensive, our server was a great help with this. We would definitely like to visit again and wish them success.

Lovely coffee shop, friendly staff and almost always busy. Great cakes to go with your drinks and the hot food is also good. My favourite coffee shop in town.

There are no words to describe the incredible food at Bistro Twelve Twenty. Absolutely every dish on the menu is exquisite. I visited with family on Saturday, my daughter is Coeliac, Mark the Chef, went out of his way to make her visit memorable and she said it’s the best meal she’s had since being diagnosed.

Mainly good service although the dishes were a bit hit and miss. Altogether an enjoyable experience but seemed pricey. A great looking venue.

My firm privately hired Porters last night and what a fabulous evening it was! The venue is a great space for a fairly intimate function. Melissa and her team were very well prepared and efficient, the wines were good and the charcuterie boards incredible. I’ve never seen so many different types of very delicious charcuterie and all so beautifully presented alongside scrumptious cheese, with dietary requirements very well catered for. I look forward to my next visit.

El servicio era justo - no demasiado rápido para que se sienta apresurado, pero una buena cantidad de tiempo entre cursos. Sin duda volveré de nuevo.

Food is amazing. Portion size is just right and you certainly get what you pay for. Service is top notch. Need to book another date night here and recommended seats to friends and family several times.

Cutest little coffee shop, got a ham and cheese melt and a latte which were both very yummy.

Visited here on a Tuesday as a last minute decision! Very accommodating as we were nearer the end of service! Starter was very nice, mushrooms on toast. Bread tasted very much like shortbread but the mushrooms in sauce were delicious. Main was chicken chasseur, absolutely delicious! Chicken was very tender it fell off the bone and the gravy was full of flavour. The mash potato was perfect and the veg was cooked to perfection! The chocolate tarte was very tasty. Overall the service was very good, staff were still a little nervous as they were new to the role but very polite. Very reasonably priced and we will definitely be returning.
