Went to ask for table to be met by a shark smile and flared nostrils. Some confusion about if she would deign to give us a table. A sneery patronising snarl asked if we had reserved. We had not so we were asked if we would like to go upstairs. I am disabled but agreed I would get upstairs as the menu looked lovely and the coffee smelled delicious. Snarly face then said , 'well you will be waiting over half an hour if you do'. We left - a shame. Do the owners know they are losing business?.

Its a real shame because on the outside it looks ok..ish I used to use it quite regular whilst out riding in the summer months My last visit i was absolutely shocked.. the inside of the only pub in the village has been turned into a filthy hovel and looks like its not seen a tin of polish or a spray anti bac in years.. the land lady is an absolute slob i found out later is called Dawn she has a bad attitude with ZERO customer serviceor manners for that matter... ice with coke was too much effort bare in mind its 30°. 1 drink was enough to hunt out trip adviser to leave this review. If I could leave no stars I would based on my experience

Big thanks to Maria and her team for a fantastic breakfast yesterday booked for 28 all came on time and cooked to perfection. Great choice of beers our go to pub for annual trip to the races. See you next year!

charge you extra £1.80 per pizza if it half and half even tho your paying £21 for pizza where does it state that??

Stumbled across this cosy little pub in the search for food. We were not disappointed! Incredible food, we will definitely be returning

Arrived at 11:54 went to ask how it worked Table service/where to sit etc etc Understandable I was early however I DID NOT WANT TO PLACE AN ORDER Was spoken to like crap by some unkempt guy who looked like he’d just rolled out of bed and couldn’t even make eye contact. Topped off by him slamming the doors as we went to wait outside . (They were open when I arrived) We decided to leave and eat elsewhere

New years eve. Good atmosphere. DJ playing varied music everyone seemed to be in good spirits x

Booked kings head for our wedding meal and had a fabulous time. Lucy went above and beyond to make the day very special for us. The meal for 20 people was excellent and all guest were looked after by the staff. Stayed the night in the hotel and room was clean and very nice. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and on behalf of all the guests a massive thank you !!

Went to The Old Horns Inn for lunch after a very pleasant walk around Damflask reservoir. Beautiful location with stunning views from the garden. Plenty of tables both inside and out. Chose from the lunch menu. Great value at £9 per person. Table service by very friendly and efficient staff who also ensured the 4 legged friends were happy. I do suggest you book a table, the place was really busy for a midweek lunch-time.

Not fine dining in tge culinary sense but fine dining in the nice pub sense. Friendly staff who made me welcome even though the kitchen would close in 15 minutes. Good service carried on even though it was the end of a long day for the staff. Good views too.

10/10 for our first experience of a Sunday roast here. Staff very friendly- fair prices - perfectly cooked. Gorgeous building

Lovely country pub environment despite being close by. Food is very good. Service first class. Not the cheapest but that’s fine. You pay for what you get.

Had fantastic birthday meal yesterday All 12 guests loved the food, service was quick , efficient and good value for money. Will definitely be coming back soon.

I recently had a lovely meal out at Golcar Lily and was really impressed. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, perfect for a relaxing meal, yet still friendly and welcoming. The staff were fantastic—attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely warm and helpful throughout our visit. The food was great, with the standout dishes being the pizza and roast beef—both were full of flavour and cooked to perfection. And to top it all off, the views from the restaurant were absolutely stunning, adding an extra touch of magic to the whole experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for good food in a friendly, scenic setting.

Not very clean, toilets dirty. Staff friendly and food was nice but will not be back.
