Went to ask for table to be met by a shark smile and flared nostrils. Some confusion about if she would deign to give us a table. A sneery patronising snarl asked if we had reserved. We had not so we were asked if we would like to go upstairs. I am disabled but agreed I would get upstairs as the menu looked lovely and the coffee smelled delicious. Snarly face then said , 'well you will be waiting over half an hour if you do'. We left - a shame. Do the owners know they are losing business?.

Came here with a friend for lunch and it was busy. Shown to a table and our order was quickly taken. I ordered a blt and it was one of the best blt's I have had ....thick slices of bread and plenty of filling. Ok it was a bit pricy but judging by the popularity , people don't m8nd pay8ng that little bit more for excellant food and service

The food and hot drinks here are always beyond expectations. It's the kind of place you want to come back to again and again. Looking forward to trying everything on the menu...

Quaint tea room, serving great meals and snacks. Easy to come for either a coffee or something larger. We had soup and homemade chips, gorgeous.

Great coffee shop with lovely cakes. Comfy sofas and good atmosphere in a lovely old building. Bigger on the inside than it looks from outside and a hidden gem.

I visited T @ Cake for a cup of tea with my cousin. I asked for very strong tea but was told by the female co-owner that this was not possible! At £2.50 for a small pot and with a few tea leaves floated around the brew that came was very weak. I asked if they could a bit more tea in the pot but was told that this was not possible. The lady who served us was quite abrupt and rude. I now visit if possible on Thursday and the ladies on that day could not do enpough to please!

Great atmosphere and good food, do find the owner to be a bit patronising at times and and for this reason do not visit more often. Sandwiches good, teacakes are smothered in butter?? would be nice to have the choice of buttering your own!

I love this place, the owners and staff are very welcoming and warm, the food and home baked cakes (including gluten free options) are all mouth watering delights, very hard to chose what to pick with so many options. Local products are sourced and used and it shows in the end product. Even the pooches aren't left out, there are scrummy looking bone shaped biscuits to take home for them, and we behaved dogs are also welcome. The tables and chairs are well placed to allow room to chat in private, they are also comfortable and quirky. A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours on a morning, I enjoyed kedgeree with a poached egg on top, crispy fried onions and mango relish, yum yum

" Gastropub " it says on their website....NEVER ! We went for Sunday lunch after reading how popular this place was on our local FB page. Not the nicest of dining areas , certainly not like their photos. Tiled floor , mis-matched furniture, more like a transport cafe for lorry drivers. The whole place is very rundown and drab , peeling wallpaper, damp patches etc. No starters available . Meat was tender and plates piled high but frozen soggy sprouts, cabbage with loads of stalk and nothing seasoned at all . Very bland .Not a good experience. We like to support local businesses but sadly won't return here. The staff were lovely but it needs a lot of money and a total revamp in order to survive . I hope it does!

We had a lovely evening here. Upon arrival the pub was clean and welcoming. Myself, my mother and my daughter came and the staff were so lovely and assertive. The food was really nice, we came in here as we were visiting the area and we would definitely come again.

The food has changed from traditional food your gammon and chips, fish and chips etc to trying to compare with bao buns at the Riverhead, sorry no contest. The pub smells of wet dogs particularly around the fire and the sofas and been bitten there. Not in a rush to go back .

We were seated quickly in a pleasant room. After a shortish wait we ordered 2 sandwiches, a portion of chips and 2 coffees. After a long wait the coffee arrived but was only lukewarm, I asked for another one that was hotter but the waitress seemed confused, eventually we got replacements which were slightly warmer but I didn't want to risk complaining twice ... The food was delicious but the chips were plonked down with no offer of vinegar or sauces, not even salt. After rugby tackling a passing waitress we asked for vinegar which was deposited on the table but with no comment or question about whether there was anything else we wanted. At no point did anyone ever come back to the table to ask if everything was alright or did we want anything else, which considering it is table service and not cheap, I would expect. We are still here wondering how on earth we pay as we have been finished for at least 15 minutes and are still being studiously ignored. Maybe if we get up to leave they might notice us. To summarise food lovely if expensive service atrocious.
