The best restaurants in Kirklees Yorkshire and The Humber

Sunday evening meal for four as part of an impromptu get-together; no firm plans for food but Harvey's was suggested and we were all happy with the choice. Good selection of food and drinks, decent prices, good quality food in good portions (not much left and no-one still hungry, just about right)! Topped off by great cheerful and friendly service from Tilda. Well done Harvey's, we'll be back :-)

I recently visited at Volare, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment we walked in, the warm and friendly staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The tapas selection was fantastic, with a great variety of fresh and flavourful dishes. Each plate was beautifully presented, and the flavours were spot on. Amazing value for the quality of food and service. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable.

A fantastic place, I really can’t recommend enough. We have tried to book for a while and struggled, eventually we managed 6.15 Friday. Already very busy. Great food - we had focaccia and dips, tomato salad, fried chicken, cod, potatoes. The potatoes very incredible. Wine was eclectic - Japanese, Armenian! I asked to try and they were very receptive and shared their knowledge of the wines. The service is excellent, attentive, friendly - a great place and excellent value for money

It’s a good cafe for a quick bite and coffee, would recommend dropping in for a quick snack. Staff friendly and place was clean

We love this restaurant and love the fact that you are back in Holmfirth but tonight was not up to your usual high standards. The table was wobbly, the restaurant was freezing and the service was slow. We had the 2 courses special - the soup and Camembert and the fish and chips were fabulous. The quality of the roast beef was poor and we couldn’t eat it. We couldn’t stay for dessert we were so cold. We then came to pay and discovered that the Camembert was £5 supplement for a started which it didn’t say in the menu - if we hadn’t checked that would have just gone through - the waitress did take off after some discussion with a few members of staff who didn’t seem interested. The pricing doesn’t seem right for this offer - surely the more courses you have the better value - The fish and chips is £19.99 - nearly £3 more than if you just ordered it on the main menu, and then a £5 supplement makes a starter £ 12. The waitress staff were lovely and polite but lacked the direction of anyone more senior. We will come back as it is one of our favourites in Holmfirth. Thank you

Popped in for a mid-morning coffee during our visit to Holmfirth. The owner was very welcoming and we were soon chatting like old friends. The chef, who came down with a sample of the food for the owner to try, was a lovely character as well. Locals were coming in to eat during our visit and you could tell they were regular customers. It really felt like somewhere you'd be happy to return to again and again.

I was lucky enough to receive a beautiful bouquet bought from Forever Green for my birthday. I can honestly say I have never seen such a gorgeous arrangement of flowers. One week on and they are just as beautiful. The roses have opened up but still look fresh and healthy. It looks as good now as it did when it arrived. Thank you so much - you are a genius to produce something so fabulous!

Fantastic food! I’ve I’ve ever had a nicer pizza I can’t remember it!! The dips are amazing too. Holmfirth is really a great place to eat and drink.

A great traditional pub..homely Jodie and the girls are brilliant the beers are fantastic from traditional beers to lagers and now are serving Peroni. Thai food is being cooked on the premises delicious...plus quiz nights on a Tuesday. Another plus it's a dog friendly pub ...what more would you want...and the locals are accommodating and friendly...if you do not visit you are missing out...

We liked it so much we went back next day! Great food, friendly service, popular place to eat. Nice range of menu options and well priced good value.

We have drove past this place many times and always said we would give it a try - today was the day! We were pleased to see that they have an upstairs area with additional seating which was useful as seating is limited in the main part of the deli. I ordered the chicken pesto melt and my partner ordered the halloumi, harissa and hot honey sandwich with a side of crispy potatoes. We also ordered a vanilla latte and a vanilla iced latte. Both the food and drinks were very tasty and plentiful. The sandwiches arrived toasted with crisps on the side which was a nice addition. We found the menu to include a varied choice of options which swayed away from the generic cafe sandwiches which is always good to see. We will certainly return as the food was good quality and a reasonable price.

There were 8 of us,the taking of the orders was a little slow,we waited about 20 minutes before we managed to place are orders,then it took an hour before the food arrived. The good part The food was fantastic and we had 6 different meals,w the same,all of us enjoyed their meal and said if the service was a little quicker then it would of been a great night.
