Great service, ordered over the telephone, was ready within the 10 mins I stated..fish and chips delicious 😋 and mushy peas to die for.. 😋

Since the new people took over this has become my favourite chippy of all time! High praise I know, but the fish and chips really are excellent.

The fish was paper thin and not cooked properly. The cleanliness was disgusting chips on the floor trodden in ,dirty and smelled horrid. The staff had the we don’t care attitude and their work wear looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks . No hair nets and touching raw foods and cooked foods without washing hands . I had the worst stomach ache for 3 days after ,bed bound and could not work I lost 3 days pay . The owner a Liverpudlian was a vile character very abusive towards me and my children I will never come here again .

As always great food, we usually gets chips, peas or curry, highly rate, nice portion size for the family. Great to eat locally and this chipper is just down the main Manchester road, just in the village of Marsden.

Finest chippy tea in Yorkshire. People drive miles to get their tea here. (Tea means dinner round here)

Hands down the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! I tracer a lot with work so I’ve sampled chippy tea from around the country and this place takes the top spot! Fish, chips, scraps and that absolutely beltin’ Irish curry sauce! 10/10 👍🏼

Was out with the mrs and the dog for a walk when we stumbled across this quaint fish and chip shop. I can’t resist when our and about and we weren’t disappointed. Loads of choice, but I’m old school- fish,chips, peas and pop-cracking portion and not a scrap left!!!!! Mrs went for a fish butty(fish barm over here I was jokingly told. Even enough to give the patiently waiting dog a piece. I think you can tell a good fish shop when you’re greeted with a conversation and a nice smile- that we got. Next time we’re over that way I know where we’ll be grabbing a bite to eat.

The best Fish & Chips, huge portions not greasy or fatty and excellent quality fish. My daughter always has the sausage and she loves them. Great chip shop curry sauce Aswell.

The fish was the best I've had, pure white flakes and fresh crispy batter. Great selection of other meals all looked really good. Staff were friendly and helped us with the area as we were just visiting for the day. Thank you for a wonderful meal

Me & my family stopped off for food, while travelling through Yorkshire. Staff were extremely friendly and the food top drawer, Marsden is a beautiful part of Yorkshire and I’d advise anyone to stop for fish & chips at this place. Regards George

Before coming to Marsden I’d checked out places to eat on here and thought the Fisheries sounded great. I had wrongly assumed that it was possible to eat in but it smelled so good we opted to get a takeaway and sit in the park...

First visit and very impressed. Called in this lunchtime for fish and chips for me and hubby and we both said they were the nicest we have ever had. Both cooked to perfection!! Thanks guys, you are doing a great job👏

Fish was moist, cooked perfectly and retained flavour. I never eat the batter but I blooming did from Marsden Fisheries. Gorgeous flavour, not too heavy/greasy or soggy. Chips were crispy but not overcooked. Absolutely the very best fish and chips I've had in Yorkshire.

Visited during a short family break and was so so impressed. Not used to having freshly made fish cake and pie. Our usual chippy is a microwaved pukka pie and factory produced fish cake. The staff were also great. Would definitely go again

Delicious fish and chips - available with gluten free batter (our son is gluten intolerant) and apparently the gluten free batter was excellent! Being able to order in advance and collect was a bonus too!

The wife and I treated ourselves to fish and chips for dinner, we are so pleased we did as they were absolutely outstanding. The wife had the gluten free option and I had the normal, they both tasted delicious and was cooked to perfection. We Loved every minute of our visit and will definitely be returning. 100% recommend.

Being gluten intolerant isn't fun and I love fish and chips. There aren't many fish fryers who do gluten free batter. I tried your gluten free fish and chips on Friday night travelling from Longwood after my partner had read your post on Facebook.Wow I think I've just tasted the best gluten free fish and chips in Yorkshire and we'll definitely be back. To experience crispy gluten free batter on a great fish was brilliant.

After hearing nothing but good reports we thought we would give them a try . Before the new owners took over it was very hit and miss . But these where delicious. The fish was beautiful and not too much batter on and the curry sauce lovely . We will definitely be back . Well done and keep it up

By far the best fish and chips I have ever had. Between the family we had fish, battered sausage, chips, peas and curry sauce - all of which tasted great. You will not find a better place for fish and chips around, certainly not around the local area. We will definitely return again. Came a while ago under previous owner and it was not great, but now under new management it has certainly surpassed all our expectations. The new owners are great and a lot more friendly than before.

Just visited marsden fisheries since it has been taken over and it was lovely! Fish butty was very tasty and all food was reasonably priced with good, quick customer service. Will definitely be returning!

Seen Marsden fisheries had come under new management and thought we would give it a try on or travels. We was not disappointed at all. The service was great and the price was excellent. The fish was fantastic and all the family enjoyed it, couldn’t recommend this place enough.Bravo to the new management, keep up the good work!!!

I wont even try to tone this down, i travelled over 25 miles from Leeds just because a customer at work told me how nice they were, and was i impressed?!? i was more so! i was truly amazed at the quality of the food and just how clean it was. Took me back to my childhood when fish & chips were a treat maybe once a fortnite and they were always the best tasting i can remember, until now! Not just the food but the owners are an absolute delight. So friendly and warm, it was honestly an amazing experience all round. I would most definately make that journey again, it was that good. Just wish it was a little bit closer to home so i could eat from here every night. No matter how far away you are from this absolute hidden gem of yorkshire, i would strongly recommend making a trip to try out just how good these are. You just have to.

As participents of the riotous and loutish real ale trail, we were on a fairly sedate stag doo (albeit being led by a man dressed as Donald Trump) and were looking to offsett the copious amounts of beer we had consumed. We were happy just to grab anything on the go but as it turned out the quality of the fish and chips was exceptional and explained the sizeable cue extending from the shop.

The fish served are tiny and there is no difference between a regular and small. The focus here is on profit, not quality. You will be better rewarded travelling to Meltham or Slaithwaite. Very disappointed

Nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y no hubo problema para servir a una excelente cena de pescado y patatas, British chippy en su mejor momento. El pescado era excelente y las patatas fritas y crujientes como bonito debe ser. Recomiendo encarecidamente una visita y volveremos cuando esté en la ciudad.

Like to visit this chippy and sit in the back to have lunch, the staff are very friendly and it has a homely feel about it, the food is very good and a must with your dinner has got to be the Irish curry, it is a bit special and very popular. We visited Marsden to have a walk around the Moors but decided to grab a bite to eat in the village. We both had chips and gravy which was nice. The cafe was closed when we visted at around 3pm on a Friday so bare that in mind.

Have dined here several times, and always make the effort to get a good feed here.

My family were visiting Marsden and found this superb fish and chip shop. We were directed to the back of the premises which to our delight was a typical Yorkshire parlour. It was once someone's home. It was like stepping back to the 40s. The owners were very friendly and the all of our food was freshly cooked to order, ie the fish, the fish cakes were proper fish cakes, not minced up. Beautiful batter, chips n peas to die for. The beverages were spot on. This place is fantastic value. If you like curry sauce, then try the Irish curry it's .........mmm. A little gem of a place in the North Riding of Yorkshire. Will deffinately be back soon to sample more of the delicious meals on offer at Marsden Fisheries.

I went in here last weekend and it was packed at the serving counter.Then we noticed it has a small cafe at the back.Really good portions and interesting menu,Irish Curry anyone?It sells steak puddings which are hard to find in Yorkshire and mine was delicious.good fast service even though packed.Not many tables as small space but worth looking out for as on main street of village.
