Berlin Doner Kebab in Kirklees

Came back here again for another quesadilla and it didn’t disappoint. Staff are friendly, food is top quality and the portions generous. At just a fiver for this quesadilla it’s a bargain. Try to get over here as often as I can. Highly recommended.

tried this place on recommendation. The place is clean but no atmosphere at all as was empty and staff chatting away. We ordered 2 doner boxes and a doner which we found was over priced at £28.00. The food looked ok when we got home but my son tucked in to his box to find a screw in it. I have tried several email addresses that was given on line to send pictures and no response. Will not be going back

So, this is no longer German Donner Kebab (you can confirm this by not finding them on the German Donner Kebab website). They are now called; Berlin Donner Kebab, which is an independent and not part of the GDK chain. The quality of the food has not gone down, and is as tasty as ever, but the prices have dropped. A boss box as GDK costs £13-15 and now costs £10-12. As they are not part of the GDK franchise they also don't have the selection of different breads they used to, it seems they only have the white fluffier pita option, not the durum wheat or KCal options. I do not know if this will remain the case. As with any franchise change, just be aware when ordering.

Wrap Portion is small, but for me, it is OK. I tasted both chicken and meat Wrap Doner, and both were tasty. As I see many people like to eat here.

Been to this place in August and came back again I wasn't doner lover first time I tried it ,it was very nice so came back again, Best doner ever, very tasty and juicy now I am hooked . they serve premium Doner at a reasonable price will definitely back again and again.

It's not German doner kebab anymore. It's called Berlin Donner kebab. The menu has changed too. It was slimy and dreadful.

They are close and there is no info no where. Driving half hour for nothing !

Only tried 1 and last! Paid £17 for the bin lol. Just Wasted time and money! Orded 2 meal and for drinks we had to pay an extra charge. The chicken kebab with cheese and chip wasn't tasty and the burger with doritos wasn't tasty at all.CANT EVEN FINISHEDIT SO WASTED MONEY !

I've known about this restaurant for a while but it's a bit far from our house so this was my first time and I had high hopes. I have always liked doner kebab but have been unable to find any in the area that liked as they all seem to be bought readymade from the same wholesalers. After reading the hype I hoped the German Doner might be different. All doners that I have previously eaten have been made predominantly from lamb so I was taken aback to find that these consisted of either beef or chicken. However, I still wanted to give them a go so I ordered beef doners and decided also to give their doner spring rolls a try. The spring rolls were nice and both my wife and I enjoyed them but I was a bit disappointed with the kebabs. The meat had been shaved rather than carved from the block so were wafer thin and there was not a lot of it. It was also a little bland because the salad seemed to overpower the flavour of the meat. The service however was good, prices reasonable and the place was spotlessly clean. It was also very busy and the food is obviously enjoyed by many others so my opinion might be in the minority but honestly, it wasn't to my taste.

After 7mth though I'd give it a nother go......the worst food we've even had uber eats gave me the money back after seeing photos there's some lovely takeaways in batley and your not one of them!!!

Absolutely APPALLING customer service rang up to tell them about my Uber eats order arriving stone cold but (the chips were stale ) to only be told it’s not their fault but in fact Uber eats when I know in fact I was their first stop. When I rang not only did the staff member not have the right training but nor did the supervisor as neither showed good customer service skills as they wanted me to place a whole new order paying again. Now I know about fast food and customer service as I have many years experience and putting the customer first but they don’t here! Never ordering again. Only giving 1 star because I have to

Completely dead when we visited, the young girl who served us and the lads in the back cooking were top notch though, very friendly and gave good advice on food when my wife almost ordered a bite size food portion without realising lol. Place is immaculately clean and tidy. Would recommend and visit again. Meal reasonably priced too!

Me and my mum thought we would try this place and we are realy glad we did the food was so tasty the best donner place so far and the service was great we wasn't waiting long for our food and it was nice and relaxing my mum was defentaly impressed would defo recommend this place

Really overpriced and I left most of my chicken shawarma and chips the chicken was jellified and wet and the chips just sit underneath getting soggy wouldn’t eat at any German doner branch moving forward eaten at two and both times disappointed much better independent businesses out there that serve much better food, also the garlic sauce absolutely awful just tasted the base used to make it

First time here and first impressions last… Very pleasant service in a clean ans welcoming environment. Right from the staff member who took our order to the food that was served to us, the whole experience was a delight. I felt the staff member was attentive and helpful. The food itself was delicious, hot and an ample portion, making t excellent value for money. This is our new favourite, takeaway. If you’ve never tried it, give it a go and you’ll be hooked.

GDK is beautiful I've been ordering from when they had opened I had one issue tonight my order was perfect but my partner's was wrong I rang the manager up of the shop and he dealt with it fantastic and fast brilliant fast service thank you 👍👍👍👍👍

Edit: I’ve been back since and really enjoyed the meal. It may have been a short term supply issue so I’m updating my review The last 2 occasions they’ve run out of meat (the main ingredient) over an hour before closing. The food is quite nice if they buy enough to serve you

I was sceptical about German Donor Kebabs, but it did taste great and plenty of it and the lady at the till was super nice and chatty with us.

I have been to GDK a few times an unfortunately this time will be my last. Did not have chicken donner only beef. Ordered a large and got a regular. £9.50 spent and still hungry. Waste of time and money.

Amazing fopod quality with best service. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Dine and toilet was clean. Come again sure.

The kebab was nice not brilliant I personally would like more salad. The kebab comes in this funny bread not a pitta and is nice the meat was not dry either. The spring rolls are just wrong but that’s just me greasy with greasy filling . The dips were very nice. The kebab was ordered through Deliveroo and was not that hot to be honest. Iam giving this 4 stars as I had a kebab from Meadowhall which was hot and was wonderful.

Ordered the Kiki kebab. Cannot believe how tiny this was for £4.49 and the miniscule amount of donner meat inside. Really not worth the money. We normally have the coco meal deal but seem to no longer do this. Very disappointed

I went to the Cardigan Field branch in Leeds for the first time and it was pretty good! Not too heavy, not too greasy and affordable!

a lot has changed smaller portions no longer dip free smaller roll less meat and lettuce and the price is higher Smaller portions and more expensive ones, I don't recommend it, it used to be better

Very good customer service,I was before in German Doner Kebab in different locations an the customer service was really bad, in this local the workers was really in to offer a great service. The food was already good and the atmosphere an total welcome to any customer coming to delight with this food.

Nice modern place. Open kitchen so can see how your food is prepared. Staff friendly. Like me if you want kebab on a traditional naan this is not the place for you. Worth trying it out. Cost wise, its very expensive. A kebab meal will cost you £10. My kebab was cold had to complainted and got another one. Wont be going back.

Seen more meat in pot noodle.. Proper rip off.. paid £2.50 for extra meat and it looked the same as standard.. i asked them if they had put extra meat in and they said yes its all weighed out 😂 £9.49 for a kebab only with no chips or drink.. I won't be going again that's for sure!

2 for 1 on main meals on Tuesdays is really good value.

I ordered a couple of mix doner kebabs, unfortunately the young chap who took the order got it wrong. When I came back to explain the mishap, the young lady who handled my complain had a serious attitude problem, as if I had done the wrong thing to highlight the error. She grudgingly fixed the order without offering an apology her body language was wrong. I appreciate mistakes happen, but as a rule you should apologise, rectify with a smile and thank the customer. On a side note, to pay for 2 x doner kebabs circa £19 seemed a bit steep as it wasn't anything special.

Terrible and rude staff. Order a kebab to takeout, got it with no paper bag, no napkins, no sauces. How am I suppose to carry a kebab without a bag etc ? Been coming here for so long and never been charged for sauces with the kebab. But Today, the server charged me for the sauces. Told her I've never been charged for the sauces before but she said I am lying. Which made me feel embarrassed though.

Lovely! Had meat and salad. Salad is shredded and fresh. Only downside for me is wooden cutlery (cannot eat with it) and no hot drinks.

The experience here is not really like your average kebab booth in Germany despite the name, which is not a bad thing at all. The service here is first class and the staff was very friendly and polite. The kebab here have a lot of meat on them and taste really good and authentic. All in all a very nice restaurant with a really nice dining experience, would definitely recommend going here. Advice for German visitors: If you want a German kebab you have to order less meat and more salad because they really put a lot of meat on it and not much salad, unless you like a lot of meat. But that's because it's common here in England and a lot of people complain.

Nice food when they get your order correct. Every time I ask for no red cabbage. 3 out of the 4 times I've been they just put it on anyway.

WORST food place I've been to. Very rude staff. Over listening to a customers dispute, kitchen staff had made the wrong order for customer, customer complained and staff rudely said “ there is no more chicken you eat what you have or have a refund” . HIGHT DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, SMALL KID AT FRONT IS THE WORST FOR TAKING ORDERD HAS NO PATIENCE.

UPDATED REVIEW Waiting 90 mins and then received a message saying Order Cancelled!! didn’t answer phone after ringing 10 times their loss we were prepared to collect the food! I’ll wait a few months before I try again as reviews are shocking! Hopefully they will have got things sorted. UPDATE...... We have ordered many times since the above time and always very good. Only gripe is if busy they just cancel order. Food not hot on delivery. I would increase my rating to a 3.5 ⭐️now.

Visited here last Saturday for lunch and had the 'German Doner Kebab - Mix'. Although it tasted very nice there was not much meat in it at all and it was mostly salad. The service was very indifferent and they were more focused upon trying to upsell me many different items or sizes rather than focusing upon me. Not bothered about me once they had plonked the food on my table. Don't think I would return.

Massively overpriced and small portions, I paid 17£ for a "boss box" that came with NINE small chips, and an attack-a-snack size durum, still hungry, look at the photo! I was recommended this place by family. I went along and tried it and I can say I will definitely be back. The food was delicious, I ate out but went in to order and the staff were very friendly. The place looks very clean and hygienic and the food was prepared quite fast. The extensive range of the menu that also caters for children was just fab! 100% positive from me. I just wish they could deliver to me or I would be using them constantly!

First ever visit and went to the Batley store today 22/2/22. Really friendly staff. Well designed and clean store. Great selection and options. Really tasty and well presented food. Will definitely go again.

Good but I'm unsure if it is worth the extra money in comparison to other local takeaways, any special preps seem to be be intermittently followed.

I've been a client for a while but today been so disappointed. The portions were significantly smaller than before. Also we've paid extra for one larger portion however both of them were same sizes🙄 also paid extra for spicy sauce and haven't notice in any of the portions. Also food been just cold. As I said I've been a client before and can recognise when something been hot 5 minutes ago or been served just cold. A huge disappointment guys. I don't know maybe it's always like that when some place is new they put lots of effort and after a while don't bother anymore. Hence I won't come anymore...

Poor service, ordered some food as I was eating in. 30 minutes after sitting there for my food I asked where my food was and they had given it to someone else. Waited another 10 minutes for food to arrive. Spent an hour in this "fast food" restaurant.

£5 for mixed meat with chips , come with fresh salad . Some of the meals seem a bit expensive but the meal I had was great and well worth the money

Been wanting to try here a while and got it by takeaway this time. Overall it was a really nice meal I got the beef boss box. It was warm, nice quality and good flavours. One star lost as it was a bit too greasy which I didn't understand why everything had to be so greasy. If this was sorted then it'd be an easy 5 so I will be trying again soon to compare. Overall I recommend!
