Harry's Takeaway in Kirklees

TLDR: They know they are sending out crap food hours after receiving orders because they are greedy and rude. They don’t care about you and treat their customers as fools. Arrived 2hrs33mins after ordered. Rude staff. Coldish food. Cheap ingredients. Just be aware that the lady who answers the phone is incredibly rude. No answer was given before phone was put down. Rather than make customers wait hours for their orders, rudely shout down the phone before putting it down, can I suggest the takeaway either give a realistic delivery time or reject additional orders when demand outstrip supply? The food is sort of okay. It arrives barely at body temperature. Perhaps it has been sat for sometime. Prawn Lada is fine. Be aware vegetable Korma is now made using frozen peas and carrot mix. Garlic nan and bread was soggy as if sat for a while. Over two hours of delivery time is rather bitter however what drove me to write a review is the manner of which the staff member handled my progress query. “WE ARE VERY BUSY I AM SORRY I AM SORRY WE ARE VERY BUSY!!” before putting the phone down leaves a bitter taste. There was no interest in a partial refund for late delivery. Not that I had the chance to ask as she put the phone down. As Harry’s takeaway cannot cope with demand and does not appear to want repeat regular custom we will not be ordering again.

Very nice dosa lots of variety dosa sambar and chutneys very very tasty and authentic South Indian dosas . Thank you 🙏

I love the food from this place. Possibly my fave takeaway in the batley/dewsbury area. Our favourites are the masala dosa, desi chilli masala (with paneer), pathia (with paneer) and the veg samosas. The only issue is that the food never arrives in the time frame they give, this can be frustrating at times, but i understand they are only a small business with only the one delivery guy. (Who is very lovely and polite.)

Naan bread was stale, unfortunately we have to throw all naan breads in bin. That ruined our dinner, however Curry and Dal was really good chana bhature was also yummy

They delivered my order 15 minutes late when i call them they said we are packing now and they delivered 15 minutes late and one of the item was stale (masala dosa) i am totally unhappy with my items

the restaurant called as soon as they received my order to explain they had a long delivery wait time, and asked if I still wanted to go ahead. I said yes, and every item we ordered was worth the wait, and then some. it has been a very long time since I chanced ordering from a new takeaway and wasn't hit by buyers guilt and remorse because it wasn't worth it. Definitely my new takeaway of choice 🙌

Worst ever Dosa! Ask for bit spicy and it was extremely overloaded with chilly flakes and no flavours at all. Could not eat even half of it. Not worth recommending.

WORST WORST TOTALLY WORST.... Tasteless food I ever had in UK Waste of money my family slept without food on our Eid festival day because we have to throw all food in the Bin I had a guest at my place to visit and i ordered food for them I got insulted in front of them I ordered masala dhosa it was Tasteless can't chew the dhosa at all and stuff inside dhosa was not sufficient and I order chicken 65 I don't know how that was called chicken 65 it was like Indian Bhajiya snacks with no sauces very very disappointed never suggest... When I called for complain they are saying sorry we are busy at the moment with customer who the hell I was...?? 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

the curries were so sweet and the rice, tasted like sugar had been poured in to them. one was vegan and one was a meat dish so don't know how they managed it. used to love it here. won't be ordering again

The food was due to be delivered according to the website, and no sign of a delivery driver even having picked it up. I then rang the restaurant. The woman on the phone spoke over me constantly, and called me sir over and over despite explaining I am not sir, I'm a woman. 20 minutes later my mum calls and gets the same situation, the person on the phone is repeating the food is on its way, and calling her sir. The food eventually arrives 45 minutes after the max time stated. I advise the delivery drivery the woman on the phone is rude and unsuitable he then said ' just leave it yeah, you got your food' the chips are barely cooked, the food is of low quality.. I've actually sent in a refund request for a recent mcdonalds order where items were literally half full, and my drink had been split and nothing. I used to love this company, but I feel the standards your allowing on your site are unacceptable. And unless I am shown some kind of customer appreciation, I'll be using a different service moving forward. Unacceptable levels of service.

Paid for large chips got a small box, rice was cold, overall food was alright, not great for the money to be honest.

I ordered a large mint sauce and paid £2 for it but got the usual small tub 😞

Nice food, rang the restaurant after placing the order to ask that it was made a little less spicy. This was done the restaurant was very accommodating. The delivery was on time and the driver was pleasant and polite. Overall a very good experience

Really disappointed with it all. The onion bhaji were dry batter. Chicken was dry and had an odd flavour. Rice was too fragrant with spices, paneer was balls of batter.

Wasn’t what I expected at all I got a combo burger was meant to have chicken lamb and beef but there was no chicken the mixed Donnor tasted like it was store bought and the nana was burnt the

Order was nearly 30 mins late, order came through as delivered before ide got it, the women on the phone denied it even being sent out yet, driver then had the cheek to ask for a review so here to you bud, ordered a medium curry and it blew my mouth off, my partners burger was meant to be a chicken cheese burger and she got the thinnest bit of cheese on a luke warm burger, chips also tasted rubbish.

The Chicken pakoras were very tasty. We got the Chicken Tikka Bhuna for main but that’s wasn’t the best unfortunately. Never had coconut in a bhuna before. I did choose a medium spiced bhuna but the coconut was a bit much. Also there were lots of onions and peppers which again iv not had in a bhuna before. There was lots of chicken though so that was great, just a bit too much sauce. Thank you for a fast delivery though.

NWell I orderd 2 different curries karahi & Rohan Josh they came exactly the same but one had more chilli not very nice , only thing good was popadum , the chappati dry will not order again very over priced …

Really nice food, so many veggie and vegan options and the portion sizes are very generous.

Our favourite place to go for Vegan curries, we are regulars. Food tasted great as normal, unfortunately an item was missing from the order, and not for the first time. Excellent vegan options and nice food, I just wish attention to detail was a little better (not missing items ordered) and delivery times could be improved.

Flavours where all really good except half of my samosas where really bitter, also my chips where literally stale/hard so definitely not fresh possibly a few days old or recooked. Also £30 minimum order +£5 delivery is crazy. Overall not affordable too expensive for mediocre quality food. Its a shame because it tasted really good. I would order again if they lowered the minimum order and had better quality control.

Food is on point. And good portion size

Awesome madras, I asked for extra hot, and I got extra hot. With all my household being a mixed variety of vegi, vegan, and carnivorous, the menu caters for all with multiple choice. The meals were late but I realise now that it was in rush hour traffic. Highly recommended. Thanks guys.

Biriyani - nice but when collecting we ordered a chicken burger extra and when we got home it was more like a round piece of tinned ham. Absolutely no idea what meat it was

Family owned business, manly concentrate on take away. Clean. Masala Dosa is second to none. The coconut sauce is 100% authentic with natural sweetness. Sambhar has traditional Tamil signature (request to add little jaggery). Menu items are suitable to every taste. Given chance, should visit again.

Wish I’d gone to collect as it was a bit late on the estimate time and I needed to give some of the food a quick blast in micro and air-fryer. However it does say in their details they supply as far as Huddersfield and Leeds and delivery can be up to 2 hours, so I was aware if they were busy it might be late. Decent portions. My wife’s not yet over a cold so unable to say much about her chicken bhuna and mushroom rice, both looked good and smelled good. Rice looked really interesting, with plenty of mushroom and bits of chopped veg. I had butter chicken which while tasty, tasted very much like cream of tomato soup and once I had that thought and taste I wasn’t impressed, if that’s a mistake then my apologies. Chips were good after two minutes in air fryer. I liked that our chicken tikka stuffed naan was cut into quarters but I couldn’t taste the chicken tikka.

So after ordering food and having to wait already 1hr to 1hr 30 minutes and only 2 miles away you'd think it would be on time. However I called 10 minutes after they said it had arrived which it hadn't and they said they where packing it and then it arrived 20 mins later so happy days but would advise them to put correct updates. Now to food starters where spot on really impressed. However looking at curry's my hot madras and Mrs butter chicken look Identical except from spice difference which as you should know they should look totally different and they where extremely runny with sauce. The nan bread was not so soft and fluffy as it should be more like a pizza base flat perfectly round and hard underneath. Then the chapatti was like stail wholemeal wrap. The chef needs to do abit more research on curry's and understand single not batch cooking at this price hope you take this review and constructive criticism to improve the food and time on deliverys. BTW. The young man that dropped them off was a extremely polite and apologetic.

Delicious food, and so many options to choose from (even for vegans). They didn't forget anything off our large order either. They did have electrical problems when cooking but called to advise us of this and gave us the option of cancelling. However they managed to deliver and only 25 minutes late which was great considering the problems they were having. Would order again.

We ordered a takeaway and although they were 1/2 hour late due to electricity problems in the kitchen. They went out of their way to bring our order. The food was absolutely top draw melt in the mouth 😋 meat. Generous portions and full of flavour. Will use them again. Highly recommended.

Our order was over two hours late.. The food was freezing.. They rang me an hour and 45mins after placing my order to tell me they didn’t have any lamb biriyani! Then the lamb burger was just a cheese burger.. They didn’t answer the phone after 74 attempts!!

Different to my usual style of kebab, this came separate and you had to build it yourself. But the meat was tasty (quite salty) but polite staff 👌 thanks

Delicious food very flavourful only thing that let it down was mislabelled the vegan curry with the chicken curry which resulted in wrong food been eaten

Ordered three things one went very soggy the second one the puris were fried in oil that smelt (maybe old) third item was okay

Zero stars. Half of food is wrong. Curry is slimy and gooey. Gipping after trying the pakoras which are sooo oily. The consistency of the curries are appalling. One went straight in the bin before plating. Other one had a few mouthfuls when rest of my plate was swimming in water. Chappati was hard and that went straight in the bin. Had a few bites and now all in the bin and brushed my teeth right after. Ew

Had a takeaway last night. First one for weeks. It was really tasty. It arrived quickly, we really enjoyed the treat. Gobi 65 is so tasty, whether it is in a Dosa or a starter. Apparently the Harry's Kebab is as good.

Food was piping hot and spices in curry’s were amazing! Definitely would recommend. We did quite a large order and got a discount on top too. Very happy.

Korma tastes like they have put honey in it or hunters chicken and the Balti tastes like a normal curry. £30.00 for 4 onion bhajis , chicken korma, prawn balti, raita which was like green yoghurt with honey in and 2 chapattis - disgusting. This is not traditional Indian food so do not know who cooked it.

We have ordered from Harry’s a few times now and I’m very pleased with the amount of vegan options available. I also like that you can pick your spice level. No longer stuck with curries that should be spicy but fail to reach the required level for the dish. Sauces are always full of flavour and depth.

Both curry’s were ok but it had very hard bits in the rice like it was burnt or something but the curry itself tasted nice would order agin without the hard burnt bits

Ordered food, Was sent wrong curry with ten biteseize pieces of chicken and this was large with burnt rotis ,when rang to complaint got told it's right and lady put phone down 👎

So glad to have found Harry’s!! A lot of their menu can be made vegan with the click of a button. The dosa’s are amazing and we’ve really enjoyed trying a new menu item every time.. so far all have been great! Would definitely recommend!

Ordered chicken tikka masala got delivered butter chicken, and burnt rotis , Rang and the lady was very rude and put the phone down saying very busy ! My kids were very hungry and only had the chips

The absolute worse food I have had in a long time. Portion small and just doesn't taste fresh.
