Waterloo Fish and Chicks in Kirklees

Ordered online....I was in the mood for fish and chips and it's not so easy to order that for delivery however it is now. I went for the large haddock with chips and mushy peas. It was ordered via just eat app easily and arrived when stated. It was lovely. I the chips are proper chippy chips and the fish was great. If you are in the mood for a Great British traditional supper you can't go wrong here.

Good quality and great amount of food for just £5-ish! Taste so good to go with their Chinese salt and the house vinegar, oh so nice! So filling, so big even with “small box” I can hardly finish all in one go! Good packaging, nice and friendly shopkeepers. Can’t complain about anything! Must buy again!

First time visiting and I would definitely come back, the service and food were amazing, the portion sizes are great and the mushy peas were the best I've ever had from anywhere so definitely give those a try.

1st visit, fish chips and curry sauce, fish was amazing, batter was light and crispy/crunchy, chips were very nice, but too big for me to finish. As I only recommend places, I can definitely recommend Fish&Chicks

Highly recommended, very good food and huge portions for the price. It's one of my choices as I live in Almondsbury every time when I'm crossing Wakefield Road. That time, i had to order as I was going on a trip back in my home country. Thanks to that kind woman, I asked her for some scraps, salt, and cutlery as I didn't want to wash mine again before leaving my home! Edit: I've tried chicken bites too. Very good portion for the price, absolutely VFM! Thanks again, definitely I'm going to order again as this place is one of my regulars when I want some good fish and chips or a chicken burger!

Avoid at all costs, this is one of the worst in Huddersfield area fish is old and frozen chips beef burgers are disgusting all food cold and tasteless I would save your money and go somewhere else the old picked onions on the counter surely are a sign of worst things to come we even got bones in the fish DEFINITELY WON'T BE BACK 1ST AND LAST TIME oh and large don't be conned like I was it's only a small with more batter. Just ordered large fish n chips wi bits with a large tub of mushy peas, large tub of yummy coleslaw, large gravy and a buttered tea cake delivered. All came piping hot and all delicious. Big portions. More than enough for two. Fish and chips were gorgeous, white fish and light and crispy batter. Swift delivery. Definitely recommend 👍🏽 10/10

Food was gorgeous, staff were very polite and accommodating. Shop was also very clean. Amazing value for money! Had a large battered cod with chips and it could’ve easily fed two of us. My mother had a southern fried chicken wrap and it was stunning! Definitely recommend!!

I went first time and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered chicken and fries, chicken and coleslaw. It was very nice and fresh. My boys loved the fries and chicken wings.

Staff were great and very helpful but the fish and chips were pretty disappointing. We ordered 2 large haddocks and chips, there was far more batter than fish, the chips were soggy and everything seemed greasy. Very unlikely we will be ordering again.

Chips was nice 👌 curry sauce was nice 👌 but the fish smelt bad it was very dry but at the same it was really gressey not nice at all

The most delicious fish and chips ever!!! Honestly, you can taste the uniqueness of the batter on the fish. So light and crispy. All home made batter and you can tell. Amazing meal, the whole family loved it. Don't look any further if you're wanting local grub. Great job Ahmed with the frying tonight 💚💚💚

Wow! I rarely write reviews but had to say something about this place. Came here as Spring Grove fisheries was unexpectedly closed. Minimal expectations, but massively exceeded. Very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fish and chips. The fish batter was light and fluffy and the fish was beautifully feathery soft with no fishy taste at all. The chips were also perfectly done, possibly twice fried, crispy and delicious. Very highly recommend. 10/10.

A super high quality fish, chicken and chip shop that cooks to order with vegetable oil. Fabulously dry and crisp batter, beautifully cooked and the portions are really generous at a very competitive price. Cannot recommend highly enough. The team working there are really friendly and provide an excellent service. Delivery is for cooked to order food so it should arrive hot and fresh and ready to eat whether collected or delivered. These guys deserve to be successful as they have really thought through their product offering. Well done guys - will visit again soon.

After a dissatisfactory meal a few weeks ago I. I have given this shop a very unusual second try . To my pleasure I must say it is a fantastic improvement . Thank you Dipankar . Both myself & my wife enjoyed the meal tonight . Generous, fresh, Enjoyable portions . I need a lay down ( lol ) .

Delivery and service was great but was let down by the food, cheesy chips was very dry and what seem to be chesse slices. The fish and chicken very dry. The sausage was great though. First time trying but unfortunately the last time

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food, we can fault the service via our order on just eat but the fish on the better was soggy, the curry sauce was more like curry water, very thin that I couldn't use, my partners mushy peas were also get thin and wasted, first and last time using these, a lot better before changing hands. I hate leaving negative reviews but this is my honest opinion. It may of just been a one off because their reviews are very positive on just eat.
