The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Kirklees Yorkshire and The Humber

We love this restaurant and love the fact that you are back in Holmfirth but tonight was not up to your usual high standards. The table was wobbly, the restaurant was freezing and the service was slow. We had the 2 courses special - the soup and Camembert and the fish and chips were fabulous. The quality of the roast beef was poor and we couldn’t eat it. We couldn’t stay for dessert we were so cold. We then came to pay and discovered that the Camembert was £5 supplement for a started which it didn’t say in the menu - if we hadn’t checked that would have just gone through - the waitress did take off after some discussion with a few members of staff who didn’t seem interested. The pricing doesn’t seem right for this offer - surely the more courses you have the better value - The fish and chips is £19.99 - nearly £3 more than if you just ordered it on the main menu, and then a £5 supplement makes a starter £ 12. The waitress staff were lovely and polite but lacked the direction of anyone more senior. We will come back as it is one of our favourites in Holmfirth. Thank you

Ordered on line, which was very straight forward, in the morning for an evening delivery which arrived on time. The quality and quantity of the Fish & Chips was absolutely spot on and I shall be repeating my order on a regular basis.

Always really helpful, and part of local community. Good is amazing. Over December 2023, January 2024, had fish and chips, fish bites, and potato scollops. Fish had lovely chunks of cod, as did the fish bites, and scollops were scrumptious, and everything, is such a bargain.

Fish batter very dark n greasy. Oil change and overcooked. Not your usual 5 star

My son loves this fish and chip shop he has it when he goes to his grandparents. However I just got him a takeaway and it has 2 long dark hairs in all the chips. When I asked my son who picked the food up who served the food Turns out the girl serving had her long dark hair down while serving the food, surley should be tied in a pony tail at least?! When I rang to say the girl who answered did not seem bothered at all. :/ !!

Went to get lunch for myself partner and daughter from here, the lady serving me had the biggest chip on her shoulder which is probably why I didn't get any in our chip butties... put their prices up and then are stingy as he'll... think I'll be sticking to the one down the road from now on

Fish wasn't fresh it was kept in the warmer with door open sogy and the friers always miserable customer service poor counter dirty

We called today after watching 'The Curbs' video on YouTube last week about Holmfirth and his visit here. Unfortunately our chips were not lovely and brown, they were anemic, half of them were just hard crisps with no potato and inedible, the colder they got the chewier they became, but the Jackdaws obliged. The haddock we were served did not resemble anything like what James ('The Curb') received and was very average. The peas were decent and the Chinese curry was excellent.
