Excellent venue. Excellent Service and Fine Dining! Well worth a visit!! We had the hot and cold platter and it was amazing. It was also great value for money.

Lovley place, nice friendly staff although I wouldn't recommend the gammon, it's too salty . The fish and chips are great would recommend.

Came for my Dad’s 78th Birthday. Worth the 40 mile drive to get here. Went for the 3 course meal plus a few extras. Well presented. Lovely and fresh. Lots of flavour. Recommend wholeheartedly. Would come again.

Popped for Sunday lunch and did not disappoint. I am vegetarian so asked for the sunday lunch without the potatoes (duck fat) and the chef cooked me some in oil which was lovely. The food was plentiful and delicious. My husband had the prawns and the beef dinner. Both meals were top notch. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Absolutely brilliant restaurant. Service was excellent, attentive but not over the top, staff patient with the rude people that were at the table beside us, I have to say… you deserve medals! My husband and I both really enjoyed our meals, managed to get booked in at late notice, plenty of tables available with the tall bar stools but I don’t feel comfortable sitting at those so we had to book earlier time to get a standard table, not a problem, but will book with more notice in future for a later dining time. The food was all beautiful, very fresh, hot, tasty food. The dessert menu was good too and we both enjoyed what we had. We hope to return soon! 🙏🏻

Having eaten in Finlay’s many times, I picked up fish&chips takeaway. Excellent quality, ready at the agreed time and competitively priced. Having lived in Germany for 22 years where fish&chips aren’t available, I always look forward to my UK visits. The food was the best I have had in a long while.

Been here many times food always delious but the portions were very small today...definitely different from the other times. (Same order) The staff are lovely, no complaint there, but need to keep it consistent portion wise, to ensure repeat custom.

This is our 2nd time and once again it did not disappoint. We had the Oysters, so fresh and Dover Sole for our main. It came with butter, samphire and baby capers. We also had some onion rings which were so crunchy! Recommended! The staff are a joy too. Very friendly and helpful.

I have been traveling for almost 6 weeks this summer across Europe: Spain, Greece, Italy and Croatia and the sea bass was the best I have had the entire time away. Absolutely delicious. My husband had the fish and chips and they were equally spectacular. Top marks Finlay’s! We will be back the next time we are in Holmfirth.

We visited Finlay’s for Mother’s Day dinner. Had a wonderful time, food was delicious and cocktails fabulous. Our server and the rest of the team provided a great experience, with attentive, friendly service. Will definitely return to Finlay’s after this experience

This isn’t the first time we’ve been to Finlay’s and yet again, it did not disappoint. It’s always a joy to sit down and enjoy a meal. Melissa and the team, including the chefs, are brilliant. We’re always greeted with a smile and it is always a warm welcoming. With new meat dishes on the menu, the choices are even better than the last times we’ve visited! Definitely recommend.

Absolutely excellent sea food. We had a selection of small plates, fish and chips and monkfish between our party of 6. Everyone was delighted with what they had, and the service was friendly and efficient, even to swiftly clearing and replacing free of charge one dish that we managed to knock onyo the floor. Very reasonably priced too. We will be back.

The food was exceptional, perfectly cooked and a joy to eat. We had the seafood mixed grill and every element was delightful.

We checked Tripadvisor for a proper non-burger, non-pizza restaurant in Holmfirth and are glad we did. Enjoyed Finlay’s excellent shared fish grill for two and a bottle of house white. £65 all in. The fish was tasty and definitely enough for two. We shared four giant prawns, six or eight mussels, swordfish and largish cod steak, salmon and sea bass, monk fish and skate. I think we identified nearly all of them. The sauce was very delicious. My partner had never tried some of these before so she was delighted and enjoyed the experience! The white wine was not the best sadly as the chalk board suggested a Picpoul de Pinet which I’m sure would have more sharper, citrus notes than the apricots and stone fruit of the house white. But all in all very good.

We’ve had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious. We had 6 small plates which were excellent and our two sons had burgers and brownies. The whole experience was outstanding. . The best meal out we’ve had in Holmfirth for a long time.

Came as a group of 16 on a Sunday for a family birthday celebration and absolutely loved it! Staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and patient with everyone when ordering. Some of our party had roast dinners (which were the best we’d had in a long time!!) and some wanted to try the fish options too! The food was incredible, and despite having a large table we received the food extremely quickly. We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends!

So impressed with the food that I've downloaded trip advisor so I can write a review. Went as a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 children and I have to say the food was exceptional. I had the pork belly, my wife had the roast beef, our boys had burger/sausage kids meals. All of us enjoyed it, fantastic value because the standard is so high, will definitely be going back, will definitely recommend to others.

Everything was cooked exceptionally, the swordfish steak was perfectly cooked and the salmon was exactly as we ordered it…. Super attentive and friendly staff, we will definitely be bringing the in-laws

On arrival we were shown to our table by the waitress cara who was very polite and helpful, she took our drinks order which arrived quickly. I wanted a non alcoholic drink due to driving so she adapted one from the menu for me. We both ordered steak with a side of garlic king prawns in garlic butter. The steak was cooked perfectly and the mushroom and tomato that came with it tasted amazing. The prawns in garlic butter were beautiful!! We were very satisfied with the service, drinks, food, the atmosphere of the place, the cleanliness and the staff were all brilliant. We will certainly be back!!
