Was ok avrage chips shop bit steep on pricing £3.20 for a portion of chips

Excellent fish, chips and curry sauce. Good portion size and fish was really nice quality - all cooked in beef dripping. Lived close by for 26 years and this was our first visit, very impressed.

First time trying and loved it. Cooked in beef dripping which we haven't had in a long time and it was so nice! Staff were really friendly. Will definitely be going again!

We have been getting Fish and Chips for several weeks, always fabulous. Today, I decided to have the COD SPECIAL. What a treat. Absolutely phenomenal, beautiful, tasty and huge. Thanks

Not been for many years but was feeling hungry and tired so couldn't be bothered fighting traffic in rush hour so popped up the hill and called in for fish and Chips. The portions are big and the food is delicious. Will definitely be going back soon.

Upon closing the shop the owner called me in and asked what I was after as he only had 1 fish and 2 scallop, so I asked for an offer as this is all they had!, so he made 2 sandwiches halfing the last fish and charges £9.10 for both, disgusting 😑

Nice fish and chips but very pricey I know somebody who lives locally who is going into town every week to have fish and chips at Sharky's down by the open market. Sharkeys eat in price medium Fish Small chips small peas £6.20. Same at Newsome fisheries that I got today £8.15. 😳😳 They need to be careful because Edwards fish and chip shop down at Bradley has closed down completely since this cost of living crisis.

Absolutely love this place. We recently moved out of area but travel back for the fish and chips. The staff are lovely too and always have a sweet treat waiting for my little boy.

Tried this place after reading the reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. It reminded me of how chippies used to be. You could see the fryer with his fish which he battered and cooked perfectly. Not a pizza oven or kebab in sight so they concentrate on what they do best good old fashioned fish and chips.

Had alot of Fish & Chips in my time but these are honestly the best in Huddersfield. The chips were cooked to perfection and the fish was amazing! Whatever you guys are doing, don’t change it! We had quite a detour of a day and getting peckish and noticed this fish & chip shop with parking immediately outside. Three of us thoroughly enjoyed the generous portions and the fish was spot on, juicy fleshy fish and a decent batter to match. A cracking team of ladies behind the counter, My 'Banoffee treat was as they say 'The icing on the cake' Thanks Ladies.

Well after two recent trips to the seaside of disappointing fish n chips. Was nice to go to Newsome fisheries for some well cooked ones, blathered in lovely bits. Curry sauce nice too. Great service and would definately recommend a visit 😀

I am not talking about Newsome Fisheries but the house just near it: 10 Newsome Road, best place I have ever stayed at. The landlord Alex Hellawell let me in for free because of how feminine my persona was to him. He did get me some fish and chips at Newsome Fisheries I guess that is why I am putting the review in here. At night, Alex let me sleep in his bed next to him and I was super comfy just after all that work I did with him on that very bed. Would totally recommend for women and not men because he charges 50 quid.

Proper fish and chips fried in dripping. Fried at a high temperature as it should be so the fish was crisp and not greasy and the chips were not soggy.

This is a great fish and chips great prices we always go to this chip shop as soon as in Yorkshire great price never disappoints the staff are excellent and cannot do enough for you

I remember this place 10/15 year ago being the best chippy around. It went downhill, but recently improved and is up there with the best chip shops again.

Called in this Fish shop near Newsome church 4.45 pm Valentine's Day Requested Haddock on arrival ....told oh. We don't sell it !!!! After which I requested a fish cake .... told that will be a 20 min wait !!!! This establishment needs to get its act together 3 people behind the counter and such Poor service ! No apologies at all just looked at me pan faced

We have been looking for a fish and chips takeout for a while now and i think we may have found one. We stumble across this place quire by accident. we were travelling home one evening and the wife just fancied fish and chips, so we stopped here as it was en route. there was the usual fair on offer from this type of eatery, all cooked freshly. I had the fish butty while others had the full blown fish and chips, neither the wife or daughter could finish these due to portion sizes. The price is the same as I pay at other take outs of this nature near work so seems reasonable. Getting out of the parking bay was a little difficult due to the traffic lights. The food was very tasty and there was the usual condiments available to use freely; with the added bonus of tomato ketchup being included if desired. Grease can be a problem with this kind of food but i can say that it was kept to a minimum. Good effort guys.

Fresh, tastes good and a good portion size, fish and chips costing £4.85 I thought was reasonable.

Brilliant i went to Newsome high school and it was a 10 minute walk and was really good food, still is i would definitely recommend it to anyone, one thing tho the prices are a little high lost a star there
