Good food, good choice. Very pleasant country pub.

Lovely meal - all cooked fresh to order. Pizzas were excellent and service was very friendly.

Go here regularly, never been disappointed with the food or the service. One of the best Sunday lunches around. Also very reasonably priced. Darryl the owner / chef always finds time to make sure everything is ok. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a great meal with great views.

Lovely meal tonight at the Lily, staff were pleasant and the lamb steak was beautiful. My husband had the Thai chicken which he really enjoyed. Still a great value traditional pub in a gorgeous location.

Best steak pie I ever had. Proper pie with short crust pastry filled with quality meat. None of this stick a bit of puff pastry on a bowl of stew nonsense! Vegetables were cooked just right with boiled beetroot as a surprise addition. Service was good, location is excellent with great views and it's not over priced. Get yourselves round there.

Friday Night 19:15 I think our order was taken by the cook as front of house staff were void. The cook made a decent prawn cocktail for both of us £8:95 each. The main meal: Yorkshire pudding with sausage and onion was described as the worst sausage ever eaten "the cheapest of the cheap". My order was the Toulouse like sausage I would like to note if you burn a tomato sauce start again don't serve it even if you think you missed the sides with your scraper, dark acrid flakes. We stayed till nine pm and the place was empty. This could be so good with the views I suggest keep it simple. Avoid is nasty but for food it was not good and the beer garden was unloved perhaps yet another failing pub(we were the only ones there Friday night 9pm). Apologies to the attentive staff.

Food was lovely and quite reasonable! Had the beef Sunday roast and really enjoyed it ! The raspberry cheesecake was also fantastic! Only gripe been the drink prices !! 8 quid for a glass of wine and £6 for a pint of Guinness is the most expensive I've encountered in the west Yorkshire area ! Inside could do with a revamp as it is very dated but the views are good the food and service tip top just the drink prices that are way to steep

Back 4 times in 2024. I dare anyone to say they have a bad meal here, the food is epic. Absolutely 1st class. £16.00 will get you top restaurant quality food, these guys know how to cook. Update:sept 23. The best just got better, the beef and the fish, as walk-ins (didn't book) amazing. The beef was perfect, the fish cooked to perfection. These guys know how to cook. Really good traditional pub food, nice atmosphere, this is more of an eatery than a pub as the bar area is small. Staff are friendly, good good, nice beer, great views and a superb way to spend an afternoon after a walk around the local area... Not bad to nip in to for a quick bar snack and a pint also.

Daryl the chef makes the most amazing food and his prices are worth the money. Got served by waitress Ash. Lovely young lady who knows how to communicate with customers. Give her 10/10. Had Sunday lunch lamb and beef very good but the belly pork was dry chewy and overcooked so it was changed to lamb. There was no smiles or apology.. I was made to feel it was my fault but I am not paying for something I couldnt eat. The vegetables all tasted the same sprouts carrots and cauliflower had no taste. We won't be returning.

Food is great, service has been hit and miss over the years, but generally good. Limited dr now on tap, but that's down to my preference. Fairly good selection of spirits and wines. Worth a visit.

Midweek meal at the Golcar Lily, the menu is great there are sandwiches, giant Yorkshire puddings and pizza as well as the regular favourites such as lamb, belly pork and steak and ale pie. There is also a specials menu with a large selection, we were spoiled for choice. I went for steak and ale pie, it was delicious a good sized portion and the home cooked chips are some of the best I’ve tasted. The husband had the cannelloni which he said was very tasty. The food is reasonably priced and the service was quick and friendly.

Outstanding beef in Guinness. Really delicious. Great view too but the heavy rain obscured it.

Quite a while since our last visit. W e had a lovely midweek lunch, the menu choice is excellent with something for everyone. The portions are very generous and the food is very well cooked. The waitress was very helpful and it certainly won't be long before we are back again. If you haven't been here you are missing a treat.

We have been to the Lily so many times and it deserves ten times the custom it gets. Always cheery, good, in fact great food at a sensible price, in a lovely location. It's a gem that deserves to be better recognised. Keep up the great service! Trevor & Alex.

Decided to have a day off from the cooking Sunday dinner and visited The Golcar Lilly. We all had pork belly with Yorkshire puddings and lots of vegetables and delicious gravy followed by Sticky toffee pudding with custard. Absolutely delicious served by very friendly staff. Will definitely be coming again.

Good sized portions at a reasonable price with excellent service.

Fabulous friendly service, nothing was too much trouble by the great staff. The food was perfect. We had beef filled Yorkshire puddings, the salmon and the chicken with apple sauce. Absolutely spot on. For desserts we had blackforrest trifle, waffles with choc icecream and jam roll poly with custard. Delicious. All served with smiles. 😋

I had the individual game pie 🥧 which was superb. The service was really good & attentive & an even bigger plus for me was it's L.G.B.T.Q+ 🏳️‍🌈 friendly. It's my second time coming & it won't be my last. I love this place❣️

We were there for a wake, the buffet provided was fabulous, staff were friendly and helpful and really good coffee. Hope to go back for a meal sometime.

I visited today with my daughters and brother for a quick drink after a walk. We was met by a very unfriendly and extremely rude front of house lady with black curly hair. We were told where to sit and that our food order would be taken at the table, which didn't happen until we had almost finished our drinks and was ready to leave. We said thanks and bye as we left and got no reply. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere and will not be returning. Claire behind the bar was lovely as was the young man who brought the cup of tea.

Fantastic place for Sunday lunch, great staff and excellent menu. One of our absolute fave places for a relaxing afternoon. We have been quite a few times now and we plan to go again.

Bit old fashioned and limited veggie food but the goats cheese tart was delicious. The veg and potatoes that comes with it though a little boring and plain. But fine if you like that kind of thing. They weren't over cooked which was good. The old fashioned puddings were a hit with my family and yummy! Rolypoly and proper sticky toffee pudding! And custard!

We came for Sunday lunch sitting in the bar area, which had a nice, cheerful atmosphere atmosphere. There were a lot of options on the Sunday Lunch menu, you can choose from the various range of courses. The food was delicious (belly pork for me). Another diner mentioned the pizzas on the other menu are really something special so we will be back to try them! Overall we had such a nice time. Definitely recommend this place.

We came for a family meal with two young children. There is a huge regular menu and additional specials menu full of variety. The food was amazing and the wait staff helpful with the questions we had about the menu. Will be returning to try Sunday lunch!

Me and my mum visited here after coming here once when I was younger. We are visiting the area and thought it would be nice to relive some old memories. As we walked towards the pub we noticed it looked very dark. No lights on and very quiet. We found the entrance and we went inside. The greeting we got wasn’t the best, I’m a waitress myself and it was a terrible greeting. The 2 ladies stood near the restaurant bit and told us we couldn’t go sit in the restaurant as they were trying to save electricity, we can understand that as everyone’s trying to save money. One lady pointed to a table in the corner of the pub and said that was our table. We sat down and ordered drinks. It was prompt and our order was soon taken. I ordered the American pizza and my mum had a Yorkshire with veg. The meal came and was hot and was lovely, until my mum found a hair on her cauliflower. She called over the waitress and explained there was a hair on her food. The waitress lifted the plate up and started inspecting it at our table. “You sure that’s a hair?” After sometime she then said you sure it isn’t a fibre of something. Which is completely rude. She took the meal away and the other lady came back and asked my mum to explain what the hair looked like. It was black and curly and was definitely a hair no need to explain. Then after giving my mum 20 questions she eventually apologised and offered my mum another meal. I think it’s completely rude and off putting to inspect a dinner at the table and then rudely make out my mum was lying. They both stood at the bar having a natter while looking over at us to make it clear they were talking about us. Pizza however was actually okay. Will never return and you should avoid this place. Staff were rude and the place is not welcoming. It’s very hard as well as there’s no shops about to get anything to eat til tomorrow.

I love the top quality food served here, really enjoy the Sunday Lunch which is excellent value for money. Will be back many more times.

Always a warm welcome and lovely food .

The service was slow, poor quality when we got it, expensive for what it was. From arriving to leaving it took over 4 hours to get our drinks and food. There were only 3 other tables in use so the defiantly weren’t busy. The bill for 4 Adults and one 4 year old came to £99 for food and £49 for drinks an expensive Sunday lunch. Definitely will not go back. Marks out of 10 / sorry only a 3

Just been to the restaurant for Sunday lunch, 4 Adults and a child. Not been here for a very long time but decided to give it a go. Unfortunately as we arrived a customer was taken ILL and an ambulance had to be called so there was some disturbance for a short while. We ordered drinks and after waiting 20 minutes for them to come they missed out a child’s drink and the ice. We then waited a further 40 minutes for our order to be taken. We just ordered 2 staters and asked for the child’s meal to be served with the starters that took a further half hour. The 4 Main meals to exactly 1 & a half hours to be served after ordering. We couldn’t understand the hold up as the place was not busy and the emergency had been sorted. The food when it did finally arrive was very good quality, my elderly mother had the salmon and she said it was beautiful. There were 2 roast beef dinners which were okay, the veg were hard especially the beetroot, I couldn’t get my fork into one piece it was that hard. My son ordered steak and asked for it rare and it was well done, however with waiting so long for the food he was that hungry he ate it. I did feel sorry for the staff as one girl said she was new and the others were so slow. The bill came to £99 for the food and £49 for drinks so definitely not cheap. Was it worth the money !!!!! Sorry to say definitely not. Such a shame because we like to keep it local but we will not be returning.

Beautiful, butterfly chicken and Beef Stroganoff. Followed by caramel crunch pie and sticky toffee pudding. Black sheep ale as a bonus.

We love going here for Sunday Lunch in particular, the food is so tasty and the three courses including coffee for £19.95 is amazing value. On the A la Carte menu my favorite everytime is the Guiness Braised Beef with crispy leeks and gorganzola is so yummy. Staff are always friendly and efficient and Darly the owner and Chef is always at hand to chat or advise.

Lovely pub with amazing views. Comfortable furnishings and very clean. Have been to The Golcar Lily many times over the years and the staff are always very friendly and helpful, Daryll, the owner/chef always treats the customers like personal friends. The menu, though not extensive is wide ranging and beautifully cooked. Would recommend The Golcar Lily without a second thought.

I am a vegetarian who doesn’t like tomatoes and there was Mushroom Goulash on the menu which had tomatoes in. The chef happened to walk through the dining room and I mentioned that I did not like tomatoes and he said that he would make the goulash without tomatoes which he did. It was absolutely delicious. My husband enjoyed his belly pork too. The staff were friendly, the service was excellent and I would not hesitate in returning.

No healthy options available on the menu here. As they serve prawn sandwiches with salad on the side, I asked if it would be possible for them to just make me a prawn salad ( remove the bread and dressing) but I was told this wouldn’t be possible as they don’t serve salads until Summer months so I’d have to have the sandwich with my salad and not just the prawns. Poor customer service in my opinion.

Fabulous food. Good service. And if you have allergies, it's amazing. I have 7 allergies, and it was all labelled on the menu and there was sooo many options and choices. The chef even came out and spoke to us to ensure my food was safe to eat. Lovely evening out!!!

At last ... A restaurant that serves hot food on a hot plate. It made a good change to enjoy a hot meal to the last mouthful. The menu offered a good selection, it was served with care and respect, and the food was delicious. Unfortunately I didn't have room for a dessert. I'll be going back before long.

Popped in for a bite to eat with family last minute. The food was great and the service was excellent. 3 of us had the Pizzas and we would recommend them and the Garlic Chicken was lovely. Will be going back again to try some more of the Pizzas 🍕 😋

What is not to like, wide variation to choose from on their menu, friendly staff, lovely place, beautiful views, if you have never been then give it a go, we are certainly going again.

They are open and are as good as ever. The food in this pub is amazing. Everything on the menu is so well prepared and tasty. Your only problem is what to choose: the pork, the beef or perhaps the chicken ( my personal favourite). If you only want a light snack try the hot beef sandwich or my husband's favourite, Yorkshire pudding with vegetables. We have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The view from the pub is stunning. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Had Sunday lunch take away for the first time it was beautiful, so much beef and beautifully cooked veg. Tried a few different places while in lockdown and this one with out a doubt was the best will definitely be having again I highly recommend

Collected a take away Christmas dinner. Three courses with Christmas crackers thrown in. Absolutely fabulous. Tasty prawn cocktail. Piping hot Turkey main course with all the trimmings... building up to the Christmas pudding. Excellent value and a great start to Christmas.

Just had takeaway pizzas and they were fantastic. Really tasty and fully loaded. One was gluten free and we would highly recommend.

We’ve been for a few meals here again since lockdown ended. Since the Lily reopened, the whole team have taken a very professional approach to CV19 safety. The seating has been well organised to meet social distancing requirements and all staff have been wearing masks....
