Food was lovely. Service was excellent our waitress Alice was really attentive and is a credit to your establishment!

Booked online for Sunday lunch- the waitress kept assuring us our food was on its way, that we were next in line, that it would soon be with us- we ordered more drinks whilst waiting but after an hours wait nothing had arrived. By this time the pub had emptied out and there was no sign of life in the kitchen- we were still told it was on its way but paid for the drinks and left. Not sure what was going on the staff didn’t apologise or explain the delay- not a good experience

Unnecessary rude bar man. No courtesy, yawned his way through pouring my drink, no thanks for my payment. Dismissive of my wife when she asked for a cloth to wipe clean the table we chose to sit at, only redeemed by one of the waiting staff who came to wipe our table herself. Over priced drinks at too…1pint. 1 glass wine almost £16. Disappointed

Popped in for lunch we both had Ribeye steak cooked to perfection, such a relaxing atmosphere and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Would 💯 recommend. Will definitely be back

100% the best stay ive had in beverley, Aidan and Ellen were greta from check in to check out. I was well looked after and catered for. Every member of the team i encountered was polite and courteous. We were looked after by Emily when dining and she was amazing. Food cooked by Luke and Jan was out of this world. We will be back again and this is out go to Recommendation for Beverley from now on.

Wow 10/10! Our roast beef of Topside roast dinners were gorgeous 😋😋. This is our second visit now to King’s Head and it certainly won’t be the last. The desserts and coffee’s were also delicious 😋. The service from Nikki was great 😊. I also want to praise the chef/cook for amazing food. Thank you

Traditional and lively pub, great place to drop in for a pint, we didn't try the food on this occasion, but it looked a fairly decent menu. Definitely recommend calling in when in Beverley

No Cask ales in what otherwise would make this a nice pub. Atmosphere though was buzzin.

Arrived as two parties, one group ordered and recieved there food within 30 mins. The other half nearly an hour after they were finished. Food was tasty and good quality, only thing was the steak was cold but didn't want to send it back incase we are here for a further hour. One member ordered a chocolate pudding that has been lost I think. If you are planning on doing anything other than eat in Beverly would probably go to another place. Have to leave one star as didn't expect lunch to be over 3 hours and it's not busy. Amending after being called a liar, I thought I would clarify with the party before response. Whether the two parties were together or not, the table I sat at definitely waited far longer than 32 minutes after order was placed. The desert was requested to arrive with the mains at the bar when we started getting restless and then asked again when the food arrived and finally the last time that you are referring to when it arrived shortly after. Please get all your facts together before calling your customers liars indirectly.

Went tonight with my son for a beer and a bite to eat, he had the pizza which was fine little bit expensive for what it was but okay I however decided to go for a healthy option so I went for the chicken and chorizo skewer with flatbread and a bit of salad and goat cheese. Arrived with a small bowl of fries which were great very tasty and a small flatbread and one measly skewer of chicken and chorizo. Three pieces of chicken on the skewer approximately, 3 cm x 2 cm x 2 cm and three pieces of chorizo perhaps 1 cm wide and a few bits of red onion in between the mega pieces of meat. For over £17 you would expect perhaps two skewers as other restaurants tend to do and with some reasonably chunky pieces of barbecued meat on the skewer. Really sorry to say I was totally disappointed after a busy day. I was hungry and the portion size for this dish left me woefully under impressed and still hungry. Would’ve been acceptable as a starter for half the price perhaps but for a main cost meal for even a small guy was not up to par. I’m sorry to say. Tasty but very disappointing. Would be reluctant to return due to high price, for what I received. Far far far far better value elsewhere in Beverley but a nice location and venue spoil bye lack of thought with regard to the portion - probably another 50 pence worth of food more would’ve made it a satisfied and delicious meal but unfortunately for whatever reason the portion size was truly truly woefully and pathetic.

The fish and chips and steak and ale pie the others in my party had were excellent, my sausage and mash was good except for the sausage, which was cheap, tasteless and a bit grisly. Steer clear of the sausage and mash and you'll be ok.

Stayed here for 2 days and absolutely loved it

My husband and I, with friends, stayed at The King's Head last night (6th October, 2024). I'd just like to say on all our behalf that our stay was wonderful. The rooms are delightful, beautifully appointed and very comfortable, with spacious bathrooms and great showers, not forgetting the gorgeous, fluffy towels. Extra touches like coffee bags instead of instant coffee and very nice biscuits were much appreciated. If that wasn't enough, and probably my main reason for contacting reviewing, the staff are AWESOME! Everyone we met, from check-in to the lovely young lady who made us coffee long after the restaurant had closed, was cheerful, welcoming and simply fantastic. I'm sure that sometimes hotels think what they do is taken for granted; I hope that my review assures them that it isn't. Staying at the King's Head was an absolute pleasure. Thank you!

Excellent service, good quality home-cooked food very reasonably priced.

Over priced soft drinks , The server although nice enough had a hard time getting our order right ( brought fresh orange juice instead of fruit shoot ) 3 of us had burgers which were served on the verge of burnt , 2 people had Mac n Cheese which were verging on a solid mass, The chicken tenders on the kids menu ( served to a 2yr old ) were really salty. We have been several times before that's why we called again but definitely our last visit

We had a lovely experience and fantastic food on our visit yesterday. The serving staff were nicely attentive and the service time was just right. The portions were a good size without being overly faced and the food was beautifully presented and of good quality. The restaurant was quite busy but we had a booth which gave us room to eat our food and have a chat. We’ve eaten in quite a few restaurants in Beverley but we both said this was the best food we’d eaten for lunch during our visits to the town. We’ll definitely be back as there’s more things on the menu we’d like to try. Thank you to the team for a lovely lunch.

A very nice place to have a tasty lunch in Beverley. The two course lunch menu has lots of options and is a reasonable price. Service was attentive and very friendly and we enjoyed being served by Ellen and the chap greeting us on arrival. The restaurant is in a quieter more relaxed part of this huge pub and I would recommend checking it out.

Lovely meal with generous portions. Both servers (Harry and Alice) were excellent and kept on checking up on us. Both were quite young (in fact it was Alice’s first shift) and she did a phenomenal job considering this! Harry was wonderful too and was extremely professional. Both of you were amazing, THANK YOU SO MUCH we had a wonderful time!!!! 😊

Stayed 30/09/24, The room booked (Harefoot) was meant to have a king bed - it wasn’t. When brought to their attention we were told that it was. Someone is lying and it’s not me (been sleeping in a king bed for years, the bed in this room is a queen only) The shower had luke warm water, then eventually not much hot water at all - gave up in the end. The room is big with lots of trip hazards in the carpet and killer steps to drag your luggage to. A box of tissues in the room would be nice. The English breakfast isn't worth it with the three tiny strips of streaky bacon fat. Won’t stay here again - sorry not worth the money

Being a family of 3, two being disabled and having a little dog it's not always easy to find somewhere to eat that fits our needs but The Kings Head in Beverley suited us and all our needs: Flat easy entrance 👌 Welcomes Dogs 👌 Friendly and helpful staff 👌 Excellent disabled facilities 👌 Delicious food 👌 And all at a good price.....Well done ✔️

Harry was a lovely and friendly waiter who made us feel very welcome. Luckily we had a code to use for our food to get 30% off because the food has massively gone up in price and the quality of food does not match the prices - you could go to high end restaurants and pay similar prices. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant though.

Visited today for late afternoon Sunday lunch. We paid for four Sunday roasts and were shocked at how long we had to wait for lukewarm gravy, 2 carrots, one parsnip and hard as rocks roast potatoes. £16!!! We were so hungry so ate quickly anf left. It seemed that the servers knew it was poor so they kept out of sight. We won’t visit again. Very disappointing.

Really lovely place to eat. There’s a nice bar and restaurant too. Really good atmosphere. Food was great, there’s a pizza oven so my husband had pizza and I had steak pie. Both amazing. Pizza had great base and lots of cheese. The steak pie was very yummy, couldn’t be better really. Lucy the waitress was lovely! So friendly! Our visit couldn’t be improved, thanks!!!

Had lunch here several times before and all was well. Lunch today was sadly disappointing, my halloumi fries felt/tasted ‘warmed up’ not freshly fried, and the chilli jam and garlic mayo was barely in existence. The sausage and mash was equally disappointing, again the sausage had that hard feel to them as if warmed up and not freshly cooked, the mash was okay but not light and buttery as on previous occasions, the green beans were pale, and tough which was odd, the gravy was a dribble and I had to ask for a little jug. I think it must depend which cook is on duty!!!!

What a great day and evening we had on saturday. Pub was extremely busy but the food and service was incredible. Thank you 😊

Great place, nice staff, excellent food.

Visited for breakfast wanted somewhere nice and comfy to sit and have eggs and bacon, ordered the eggs benedict was lovey. Serve by Lucy who was very helpful and chatted to me and gave me the GF menu for my son. I had a small incident and needed water quickly and without asking Lucy was straight there asking if I was OK and gave me water. Lucy was very friendly and professional and I will definitely be returning. Thank you for an enjoyable morning of rest.

Lovely pub , beautiful interesting interior lovely booth leather seating upholstered gorgious rustic looks oak tables gorgious wooded fire , the food was lovely for breakfast crisp bacon , eggs and sausages lovely , coffee is lovely also we shall.be back , Lucy our hostess for the day was very welcoming at our table, lovely personality thanks for that Lucy very good having a conversation with you , me and garry will be back again.

Stayed for 3 nights Sunday to Wednesday so missed the Saturday market they have at the front of the pub, very comfortable room with tea and coffee and biscuits. Breakfast was amazing, didn't eat at night as we met friends there who took us to different places. Staff were always available when needed, it has a lovely 'secret beer garden' at the back of hotel. And there is parking available. We would stay there again.

We went for dinner with our 8 year old granddaughter and were very well looked after by Hannah who went the extra mile for us and nothing was too much trouble for her. The food cooked by Kieran and Jan was excellent and we had a very pleasant evening.

Had tried to book a room having booked a day at nearby Beverley Racecourse for my Birthday, but unfortunately no rooms were available. Having seen how amazing the pics looked, I decided to book a meal online, which was so straightforward and also easy to amend the time. When I arrived, the place was so so busy as it was an obvious favourite with racegoers. I told reception of my booking & was immediately showed to a table. We ordered a Sirloin Steak & a Rib-eye Steak, which arrived reasonably quickly and both were cooked to perfection. I rounded my meal off with a portion of sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream..an excellent choice. We were served throughout by Harry, who though relatively new, was attentive, friendly and polite throughout the meal, wishing me a Happy Birthday for the following day. I will definitely be coming back for an overnight stay, at a quieter time.

Harry who served us was really friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was really lovely. We liked the way the restaurant was organised in the sense that we were out of the busy bar area but still could appreciate the music.

Lovely pub, nice staff (didn’t catch any names) food was great, I had the steak sandwich and it was cooked to perfection, no fat no gristle no horrible chewy bits you usually get in a steak sandwich. The rest or my party had the fish one the posh fish finger sandwich, again well presented and tasted fresh. Only issue was dessert seemed to have been forgotten so cancelled as didn’t want to wait any longer, refund given, no issue. Will definitely be back

7 of us stayed for one night at Kings Head, we was greeted by Lucy who looked after us all, very polite and absolutely lovely to talk to. She couldn't do enough for us all. We had breakfast and lunch here which was all spot on, staff very attentive. 100% recommended

very poor the lasagne was burnt the fruit salad said it has strawberries,raspberries and pineapple but it has melon and more melon massive pieces of orange basically a whole orange cut into quarters,the excuse was the suppliers didn’t deliver the correct fruit,rubbish excuse as there is a supermarket down the road. Only good thing was the service that was very good.

We were on holiday in Beverley and went for tea here on our last night as a special tea, the pub itself is lovely inside the decor looks nice and it was quiet when we went for 5pm so we're escorted to our table and had privacy as no one else in, the waitress was also lovely and friendly and was nice with our children, unfortunately the food was a let down, hence the 2 score, firstly I ordered my LO from the childrens menu a starter of hummous which was served with carrot and cucumber sticks, (this was why I ordered it as she loves cucumber and carrot), however it came with pieces of pitta bread which was a bit odd, the sea bass was good I had lasagne but it was very bland and burnt all round edge so was difficult to get out of the dish to eat it was served with some mixed salad leaves which were limp and just not nice, was more like a ready meal job bunged in the microwave it was supposed to have pancetta in it but found none in it, my OH had the steak which was cooked as asked medium rare but it was full of gristle, so was a bit off putting and the children both had sausage and mash which was a good sized portion but served in a dish so was difficult to cut up the sausages without everything jumping out a plate would be better for children, the puddings were crumble which was fine but came with a tiny jug of custard and we had asked for extra custard as my mum struggles to eat things which are too dry, and a sticky toffee pudding came with squirty cream but had been asked to be served with pouring cream, so was sent back as they didn't have pouring cream just ice cream instead of the squinty cream, the children both had from the childrens menu a fruit salad which stated it was pineapple strawbs and rasps which is again why it was ordered as they love all the above and they both came with just watermelon and orange with the skin on basically quarters of an orange like you serve at football matches ive never seen a fruit salad like that so asked the waitress why it wasn't pineapple strawberry rasp as stated on menu only to be told they had had the wrong delivery in so none left, so a little communication when this happens to the customer would be a good idea, however at payment we mentioned this and got this discounted off final bill, it was very dissapointing and unfortunately from this experience wouldnt be back again we went on a Thursday and it wasn't busy either so not sure what the problem was

The worst cocktails ever. Went for drinks with friends and were doing a cocktail tour of bev. This was by far the worst. When we mentioned it, the staff just shrugged and walked away. Very disappointing. Explains why on a busy Friday everywhere else, this pub was empty. Good opportunity to play darts though.

A little underwhelming. We traveled over for their sunday roast but found the meat quite dry, which was really the takeaway from our visit. Could have done with more gravy for this reason. The veg was tasty as was the Yorkshire pudding and reasonable portion size but considering the quality I would say overpriced. The pork was also not served with the crackling as advertised, disaster! Desserts went down well, especially the basque cheesecake. The staff were very friendly and accommodating when we asked, could maybe have thought forward about what might be asked and have prepared for example condiments, they took a bit of time to come out after the meals were served. Overall, not the worst, not the best, a bit on the expansive side. Would I go back? If I were in the area again I would definitely try elsewhere before returning.
