A simple pub food meal wanted, it ticked all the boxes. Pub was large enough to be quiet and private. Service & bar service very good. I would go again.

I wait for beer to order 20 min. Very bad service

I’ve been to The Beech Tree several times. The food is always amazing, truly fantastic. Order what you think is like a Caesar Salad and what you get is a salad that will blow your mind! I’m serious, awesome!

Awfully, the pub had a band on,which were good, there was around 200 people in and around the pub. Time to get served at the bar was at leat 30 mins with a line of people stretching into the outside area. While waiting patently to be served at least 10 people walked in and obviously known to the bar staff were served straight away. Maybe the management, obviously new to pub work should have had more staff on. Very poor experience

Arrived at 12 o'clock. Probabpy about 20 other people there, some whom irdered just drinks and some who were also eating. Took 20 mins from ordering to arrive at my table - acceptable as it was a mixed grill; Medium steak was requested, was given a steak that looks like it was cooked for longer than a football match is played. One of the fried eggs had probably been cooked for the same amount time, yet the other one was perfect.....go figure. Gammon, chicken and sausages were edible, but also cooked longer than needed. Appears that the chef was unable to get their timings correct so that everything was ready at the same time. Such a shame as last time I was there, I had gammon and it was spot on. Very disappointing. Chips? also over cooked; not burnt, just cooked longer than needed. On the plus side, the staff are friendly, the atmosphere is great, location is perfect 👌.

Our on-line booking hadn't been recorded when we arrived, which didn't really matter as there were plenty of tables. Neither of our first choice of meals were available. (no sea bass and chicken breast for the Sunday Roast instead of half chicken). We waited 20 minutes for the starter and didn't see the main courses until 45 minutes after we'd arrived. The small chicken breast on the main course was almost inedible - severely burnt underside and very dry, almost rubbery. The roast potatoes were hard. I notified the manger and she wholly accepted my criticism, apologised profusely and offered an alternative meal which I accepted. The manager also refunded me the cost of the chicken meal which was not expected or requested, so she did everything possible to remedy the situation. We like the Beech Tree and have visited quite a few times in the past and had a good experience. This is however the second time we've had to wait an unacceptable time for service and had poor quality food served. I fear we'll be reluctant to return.

A very nice visit slightly spoilt by a group of men sitting at a table near the TV using very bad language. It is a pity that grown men have no idea how to behave in mixed company in an otherwise excellent environment.

First time there and thoroughly enjoyed the place. Had a buffet and was very good

Absolutely love this place. The landlords Julie and Pete are so welcoming and there such a great atmosphere. Will be back again soon! Would highly recommend.

Came here for lunch on Monday. Very accommodating and welcoming staff. Food was lovely and atmosphere very warm and inviting. We will definitely being coming back soon:)

The landlady and landlord Julie and Pete are really friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and the service is amazing. The Beech Tree is set out well and the toilets are always in clean condition.

Used to be a great local pub this. Now it’s just full of lads openly snorting cocaine on a Friday/Saturday night. No security meaning they’re not even discreet about it.

Friendly efficient staff, food lovely and hot and didn’t have to wait long even though it was very very busy.

Went in for drinks & steak night on Thursday, great sirloin steak , reasonably priced, sampled a few of the new cocktails that was advertised, the pornstar martini is still the best one though

Went today for a few drinks in the sunshine, was amazed that we got a table outside, always a great selection of real ales , just wish it had been Thursday because all of them have £1 off !

Really nice pub. Great atmosphere and staff very welcoming. We took our little dog with us and he was made to feel very welcome.

We haven’t been in for a while but decided to give it another go. The tables outside were full of empty glasses and didn’t look like they’d been collected for a long time, so first impressions weren’t encouraging. Got served fairly quickly by a friendly member of staff but the bar needed a good wipe down. There were empty glasses all over the tables inside too and when they were eventually collected the tables weren’t wiped. Things only improved when a lovely girl with red hair came on shift and started wiping the tables and collecting the glasses. I went to the gents near the bar and it was disgusting, one of the cubicles was out of order, one of the 3 urinals was blocked and there was urine all over the floor, this wasn’t late night it was late afternoon. Does no one check? I had to wash the soles of my shoes when I came home. We’ve been in other Ember Inns but this falls far short of standards at other Ember Inns.

My meal was not great. I had half chicken and salad. The salad was mostly lettuce and very small with no choice of dressing. The chicken was ok. The atmosphere was good.

This place surprised us; a chain pub but the food and service were excellent. We had the mixed grill, sea bass, and chicken pie. All very nice at a decent price. Obviously, it is marked down on atmosphere with kids running around and a very modern setting ... but hey, it's a generic family pub after all.

Good selection of beers and the food we had was very nice. Lots of parking and roomy inside.

Service was slow for food and it wasn't that busy. Ember inn app wasn't taking my complimentary drink off the bar bill. So annoying.

We went in Sunday we had the roast beef which was very nice meat was tender and succulent not dried out will be coming back for definite.

Beech Tree is our local, and always receive a friendly welcome! Staff and Landlord and Landlady are super, and always make time to have a chat. We took our elderly Mum today for lunch. She thoroughly enjoyed it.

All staff where amazing and very attentive, welcoming warm atmosphere and lovely food

Staff were great. There are never an enough staff. The pub constantly looks like a tip. The 3 staff on can’t serve food drink and clear the tables.

Nice surroundings to have a catch up with friends. Atmosphere is nice and cosy, plenty of seating to choose from. Not too busy or noisy, nice menu, something for everyone. We chose the soup of the day with crusty bread and butter. It was delicious, nice consistency and full of flavour. Staff are friendly, welcoming and efficient. We placed our order and waited for the food to arrive which didn’t take long. We will definitely be back very soon.

The Beech Tree itself is not a bad place to have a drink in but the food is not good. I ordered a lunch time light meal of smashed avocado on toast - it was awful! There was no butter on the bread which made it very dry, the avocado was practically none existent, it was spread so thinly and tasteless. The place was quite busy and I really wish I had sent it back and complained there and then but I had an appointment to go to and needed something in a hurry. I wrapped it up in a napkin and fed it to the birds! I won't be eating there again!!!!!

There were about 110 people in the bar when we arrived. There was only one girl on the bar for the full time we were there which was from 3.45pm - 4.20pm. We were unable to order any food due to the understaffing, so we left and went to the Toby instead where we were dealt with straight away and had a nice meal. When we left there were still 20 people waiting at the bat to be served. RIDICULOUS.

We went today for New Year’s Eve Sunday lunch. Service was excellent and Sunday roast was lovely. Staff to very attentive too. Will return for sure

The beach tree is a very popular pub. There is a very wide range of beers, lagers, and cider, including four hand-pulled cask, conditioned real ales. The ones I tried were excellent. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and efficient. The food is very good. They also have some excellent live entertainment. I've seen some great bands here. There are not many food orientated pubs with such a good selection of real ales. Highly recommended

Ordered crispy prawn sandwich/ very well done and only three prawns in whole sandwich!! Very disappointing

This pub is really nice! There's a good selection of drinks and I loved how it's decorated. There's plenty of entertainment on and staff are friendly. My only criticism is that sometimes it takes a while to get served, but I don't see this as a big problem as I understand it can get busy!

We have eaten here a couple of times and it is always very disappointing. We love the pub itself but they really need to up there game with the food. Did try to get in wheatsheaf but it was fully booked. Says it all really.🙁

Nicely laid out pub and always a good range of real ales properly looked after. Food quality disappointing for the prices. The main letdown is that staff never seem to make any effort to manage people waiting at the bar so very often the last person to walk in is served ahead of those that have been there a long time. It's been like this for years and attention here would transform the experience and encourage a lot of people I know to use this nice local more often.

Had to wait a long time for our food. When it came, the chips were only luke warm, and the burgers a bit dry.

Visit regularly, can’t fault the value and quality of food , staff are always pleasant and friendly and the pub looks superb since it’s recent face lift

How can any chef worth his salt burn a tomato so badly that I thought it was a mushroom on my plate

I ordered a steak, which was so tough that it was inedible & almost impossible to cut even with a steak knife. I told the waitress & she said she’d give feedback to the kitchen, but they still charged me for it. Not impressed.

Sunday dinner very basic. Meat was fatty. One peice of brocolli and one parsnip. Yorkshire pudding burnt. Roasts where nice and so was gravy. Won't be back again. Not worth £13 per person.

Being pensioners we sadly seem to have lost the taste for inch thick gristle that so many people, it being very busy, must surely enjoy. As it was our 53rd wedding anniversary I wasn't going to start a row about her cold peas though I was very tempted to point out that a pea loses heat very quickly. She'd only have reminded me that she with two helpers was long ago but for some ten years regularly providing knife and fork meals for up to 150 customers in our free house. My gammon was quite acceptable. Not the sort you'd write home about but might well mention on an off-hand sort of eay to a casual acquaintance. Too old to be mean, so 3 stars.

Food was nice, had a mixed grill and the portions were good, food was cooked well. But couldn’t put any salt on my food as the salt wouldn’t come out the shaker, so I grabbed one off another table, and then 3 other tables. All 5 wouldn’t budge, unscrewed them to find that salt had solidified. Kind of ruined the meal thinking how unhygienic that is. Dread to think the last time they were topped up.

Went out for tea as a treat for my kids after school. Lovely food and great staff, the steak was cooked perfect.

We are regulars at this pub. Always welcomed with a smile and service is always done well. We took the kids for a treat after the first week back at school and it didn't disappoint. We have dined at Beech Tree many times in the past, but moved house a few months ago, but we decided to treat ourselves so had a drive to Beech Tree. Wish we had saved ourselves the trouble, time, & money, as we found the quality was nowhere as good & felt it was overpriced. The Eton Mess that was always lovely, was just ice cream, aerosol cream & syrup! The only remnant of a tiny bit of fruit was on top & the 2 Tony pieces of merangue was right at bottom of glass. It was a huge disappointment & at nearly £6 each for these poor excuses of Eton Mess, we felt ripped-off. We won't be back.

Despite the good atmosphere outside on a lovely sunny day and fairly attentive waitressing staff the food was abysmal really … over-priced and very average although my friend couldn’t eat her pasta dish which was very dry … we did get her meal refunded but we’re told it wasn’t down to them it was whatever the chain provided … shame on you Ember Inns!

Came to watch the lioness’ in the final , very busy nice atmosphere, it was so good we stayed all afternoon because a wonderful band was playing on the patio

If you want expensive fast nothing to write home about food, and, a slow service, with loud people and children, then this is the place for you.

What self respecting chef can serve a tomato so badly burnt that I thought it was a mushroom, and a gammon steak so burnt at one end that when I cut into it, it disintegrated like a piece of burnt toast. Never again

I paid £64 for food and when it came it was burnt all the meat on a mixed grill all tasted burn and there was a fly around our food when I put my hand on the table number 6 there was chewing gum under...

This is ok for a drink with friends but the service behind the bar was terrible barman didn't know how to pour a pint of ale and seamed like he really couldn't be bothered

We love to visit this pub as a family , the food was lovely as usual, the real ale was fantastic, the selection was good too.

I came in with my wife for dinner and was very disappointed to find the pub was very busy, mostly with children making an unholy racket for the whole time we were there. The food was okay but we won't be visiting again.
