I felt rushed and harassed by the staff. I knew after I booked that it was only a two hour slot, which we were all disappointed about , as when we go out for a meal we like to take our time, especially as my husband is severely disabled and needs to rest in between courses. I asked the waitress to wait a while till we were ready to order, but one came up then the other did, then the chap came and asked us, one of the waitresses actually said we will have to leave soon making us feel rushed, even though there was plenty of time, and there was loads of empty tables. I found the Sunday lunch very bland actually and left most of it, my husband said he didn’t like his meal much and didn’t want to Come back to the pub again. So unfortunately because both the time scale we were allowed and also the meals were not as good as we expected, we will not be attending the pub again.

One of 3 pubs within easy walking distance within our village. Having attended a comminity arts event in the pub the previous week and stopped for a quick beer before walking home we decided to call in for our evening meal. Simple pub fayre of Scampy and chips, and large skinless haddock and chips, were our choices. Freshest fish I've had for a while. Above all, a great selection of hand pimped ales available - although we git no further than the Black Sheep. We'll try the other options over the next few weeks. My friends and relatives who live nearer London will gasp at the price we paid per pint ....£4.00.

Poor quality of food - tasteless vegan curry. Too many staff chatting and not serving - was not asked if we wanted a dessert or coffees so left without either. Far too hot inside to eat in any kind of comfort. Staff constantly popping to cleaning / cake serving area to eat or check mobile phones. Dustpan and brush put on cake counter top during last visit ! Would prefer long hair to be tied up not just back whilst serving food. Toilets are always dirty with poorly fitted seats.

Our lunch was superb, I had home made steak pie and home made chips which was definitely the best I have had for a long time, my daughter had the fish which was also excellent. We were luckily enough to attend on the last day of the beer festival and had the chance to sample an extensive choice of local beers too. Went for a meal 50% to eat out in August. Was visiting the area so took my mum. Booked a table for 7.30pm earlier in the day. Ordered Haddock fish cakes with dill and spinach. My partner ordered Tomato and Goats cheese tart with beetroot and leaves.30 mins later starters arrived. Fish cakes were v small and barely a hint of fish let alone smoke haddock! Tomato and goats cheese tart was thin mainly pastry and no beetroot! My partner asked for some beetroot, they apologised and removed the starter. 20 mins later a young waitress was seen running back from the shop with the beetroot!! My partner said don’t bother with a fresh starter as we had eaten ours and we had waited an hour in total. They apologised and said that our drinks would be complimentary. After another 20 mins and still no mains we gave up and decided to leave!! My partner is a chef and definitely not fussy but he wasn’t confident about what the main meals would be? We had ordered sea bass, seafood stew and chicken Kiev! They were again very apologetic and the waitresses appreciated what we were saying- clearly not enough staff. Very disappointed- we won’t return!

Had dinner with friends. Whilst the physical service was very acceptable, certain other factors were less so. There seemed to be less customers than some months ago; the dinner menu was rather sparse, we waited some 40 minutes for our 1st course, and my pork was minute & rather fatty & accompanied by under cooked white vegetables - which was a pity as my colleagues enjoyed their meat pie & curry. Also, the prices had increased significantly. Management have obvious food, price & ambience competition from a very nearby pub diner with a more comprehensive menu, hence one suggests an urgent revamp & implementation of previous competitive advantages.

Out Table was in a small dark corner, next to a window that didn’t open, there wasn’t any fans in the room, it was as very hot and stuffy. I ordered a salad and asked for it without oil, when it came it was covered in a mustard dressing, that wasn’t listed on the menu so it had to be sent back. Very small portions. Whilst we were eating our meal we realised other people were eating meals we hadn’t seen in the menu. After looking at the website we realised we hadn’t been given the Bar menu only the Restaurant and Salad menus. Expensive for pub food.

We, a family of four adults and two children under two and a half booked a table for 12 o'clock so that the toddler could eat early. When we arrived we were met with a lukewarm waiter who couldn't even see the booking sheet. We chose our options quickly and asked the waiter if we could order straight away because of the toddler. He took our order. Forty minutes later the food had not appeared and when asked the same waiter said that they were waiting for the nut roast to cook. I said that the toddler was hungry and could the other meals be served. He said that it would only be five minutes and that they all had to come out together. The food eventually arrived 20 minutes later. The food was lukewarm and the portion of steak pie was very small compared to our previous visits. We had the impression that the management/ ownership had changed. We won't be hurrying back.

me and my family attended on Sunday, we went to the bar to order drinks, this is where it all went down hill. The lady behind the bar clearly didn't want to be there, she just sat on the step behind the bar and ignored us, we must of been stood there for a good 2 minutes or so before a lovely young lady came and apologised that we'd been waiting and explained she just putting an order through and then she would be with us. With this the other lady stood up and said "What do you want?", i'm sorry but that is no way to speak to paying customers especially went you spent the whole time sat there with a face like a slapped ar*e. Later on when we went to pay at the bar she was having some sort of argument with the same lady that originally served us and it was kind of embarrassing, firstly you don't speak to people like that as the way she spoke to her was disgusting and secondly if you've got a problem wouldn't you rather do it in private?

We booked a table and arrived in good time. They took us to a table that was uneven and we had to put beer mats under the legs to stop it rocking.

Loads better than Bridlington Costa. Staff very helpful in clearing the table we were looking at and bringing part of the order to our table. The coffees and cheese toasty were lovely as normal. The decor was dated and the cafe could do with a revamp.

A local Military charity M.A.S.H (Military Assistance and Social Hub) now hold a weekly Lunch Club on Mondays for local veterans with support from ERYC and the Armed Forces Covenant Fund. Food was good, the staff are warm and welcoming and can't do enough for you. Very reasonable prices from the seniors and pub classics menu. Aleady looking forward to the next one.

I just ordered a pizza to spend a nice night with my girlfriend, the pizza to 30min to bake and 1h30 out of delivery and I received nothing, no news, no pizza NOTHING. It is clearly a legal fraud, I paid for a product I didn't receive Also I called them multiple times and no one responded

Started well, nice starters. Main course (booked at 5:30) they didn’t have 2 of the main Sunday meats, beef wellington, or a starter. We ere very disappointed considering we booked early in the night. I asked for two pints one delivered and 2nd one I had to remind the waitress and then it was spilt on the table- didn’t clean it up either. Asked for it to be cleaned and spent the whole meal with a sticky table. Then the cheek of a surcharge and had to ask for it to be removed twice. Wont be returning. This was my second not very good meal here.
