Hayride in East Riding of Yorkshire

Went for an impromptu tea service and wine was fab, food was terrible, it was supposed to be a sizzling platter, not sure where the sizzle went, the chips were just warm but the whole meal was tasteless, it felt like it was rushed and inedible to be fair, won’t be rushing back o oy for the Pinot

Popped in for tea on Saturday and it was lovely. Food was tasty, atmosphere was pleasant and can’t fault the service. Rossi was our waiter and made sure we had everything we needed! Will be back soon

Tbh would not go again. Beer had to go back it was awful must admit they relaced it no questions asked,food starters overcooked mains could have been better.

Has a totally enjoyable evening and some great food,drinks . Service was good and we didn't have to wait long to eat even though we had a party of 12-13 people and we all ate around the same time too. Thank you all at the Hayride for making our time there enjoyable, great staff and a warm welcome environment. Will be back soon x

I bought 2 drinks. £10.75. My wife bought the same drinks later. £12.25. We bought a bottle of wine. In the menu £15.99. At the bar £16.50!! I will inform Hull trading standards on Monday. The food wasn't the best but it was edible. Must be a chain thing. The service was adequate. We travelled from Leeds to come here and it was only adequate!! How do you keep going in the current climate?? The drinks were. 1 pint of Guinness and one bottle of recorderlig cider. Me £10.75. My wife £12.25. bottle of Australian Shiraz in the menu. £15.99 I was given Rock Hopper @ £16.49. hope this helps.

Me and my family come here often, the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food comes promptly and is cooked well and there are games to keep everyone entertained. The Gammon and the All American chicken burger are especially nice. Would definitely recommend 👍

As an establishment that I regularly frequent, I am disappointed that people have had reason to leave less than ecstatic reviews, though I genuinely believe their opinions are honest, meant in good faith, and reflect their own experiences. I have to say that I've never had a bad meal or problem here, and compared to some other venues operating under the same banner, the portion sizes are "decent". The staff are absolutely lovely and not at all work shy. The beer (though mainstream in terms of choice) is always - in my experience - well kept and they have a good choice of wines in addition to a significant range of spirits as well as child friendly icy slush drinks. It's really not bad value, especially if you get the 2 "classic pub dish" mains deal in the week or the steak deal. Plenty of activities for children but also quiet areas for non family people. Just a well run chain pub that's better than average.

The assistant manager Llewelyn and his Staff are always cheerful and helpful whenever we visit, either with our group M.A.S.H. or when I visit and the meals are good value too

Very helpful service. We were a big group and weren't sure how many of us would stay for a drink/meal after our afternoon activity. However, the manager and staff did everything they could to help us. Thank you.

Excellent pub atmosphere. Large sport screens , people celebrating a birthday. Fine selection of beers and spirits. Great food accommodating meat , vegetarian and vegan tastes. Friendly staff. Very reasonably priced, all in all a wonderful evening

Very accommodation for a group of students with additional needs very friendly very helpful

We go to The Hayride every Monday as part of an arned forces and veterans lunch club. Lunch is provided free by M.A.S.H (Military Assistance and Social Hub) a local charity in East Yorkshire. The Hayride have been grear, nothing is too much trouble. The food has been geat every week as we work our way through the classic and seniors menu. If you want to book for a group then just let the staff know and they will reserve a space for you.

A regular place to eat and socialise with friends, excellent food, service and value for money

Excellent hot food, service was quick, great venue for everyone and great prices. We can highly recommend the steak and ale pie with mash and peas or the gammon on the offer Monday to Friday £13.49 for two meals. Dog friendly. Play ground outside for children. Overall an excellent visit. Thank you to all the staff.

Excellent pub, friendly polite staff and dog friendly. Even though myself and partner only go there once or twice fortnightly, the staff are always polite and very sociable. They work tirelessly serving and keeping the tables nice and clean.

This is the third time I have visited the hayride. The choice of mains are exceptional cooked and presented. The puddings are just has good. There is plenty of tvs if your a sports fan. But I can't praise the food enough.

On Sunday before Xmas we went as a family (17 of us) for the festive meal.it was a lovely ,they put us in a separate part of dining room which made it private for us all. Every one enjoyed the food and the staff were very friendly .we have been going different places for last 10 years but plan to do it at the Hayride again next year .

Another pleasant visit to the Hayride. Hunters chicken always goes down a treat. Christmas decorations looking good.

Went for a meal xl grill more like a normal size. Lol. And steak was not the best. Foot ball was on every tv. Loud as well. There was a bout 8 people in there. At around 12.30 .. i dont mind footy but not that much ) and no england was not playing

It was a quiet time and the service and food were spot on. We pass most weeks an will definitely be becoming regular visitors.

Visited the Hayride recently with our family including four grandchildren, Llewelyn was exceptionally helpful to us on our visit. Will definitely return.

Used as a Motorhome overnight stay, called in to check we had parked in a valid space and was very impressed with the Pub /Restaurant. After walking into Beverley we returned for an evening meal which was lovely, there’s TVs and music, loads of choice of beers/ spirits and the staff were very welcoming.What more could you want.

The assistant manager was great as we booked for Boxing Day with two of us are gluten free, two vegetarian, the grandkids are dairy intolerant and 3 of us eat anything.. He went out if his way to ensure all will be catered for.. Great Service

Great time for festive menu ,19 of us for Xmas works meal. All good food, was great hot and all served together,no waiting or prblems on service tha staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend it for large parties. Thanks from cherry Lane garden centre. We all really enjoyed it 👍

So today we decided to go to the hayride for a Sunday lunch ( that was our first mistake) if you like boil in a bag food this is the place for you . We won't be returning.

We've come here a couple of times and the food is enjoyable, but it is the warm friendliness of the staff that really upgraded our experience from a typical pub dinner.

Very nice dog friendly place. Food is above average and is nice and clean

Lovely friendly atmosphere.. food was great but unfortunately limited menu available as they must have been busy. Stopped here overnight in our campervan nice and peaceful, good location. Will definitely return.

A local Military charity M.A.S.H (Military Assistance and Social Hub) now hold a weekly Lunch Club on Mondays for local veterans with support from ERYC and the Armed Forces Covenant Fund. Food was good, the staff are warm and welcoming and can't do enough for you. Very reasonable prices from the seniors and pub classics menu. Aleady looking forward to the next one.

So... went here for lunch No complaints about the staff they were all polite and friendly enough which is good 😀 The food was okay but the portions are paltry If you love your chips then you'll be disappointed I had fish & chips & the chip portion was paltry as were the chip portions with other meals As chips are probably the cheapest food item it wouldn't hurt to give more The fish wasn't that big either I didn't feel satisfied after my meal I definitely wouldn't come for a meal again Also my relative that was with me had a gluten free sunday dinner and when she asked about the gluten free gravy for it she was told there wasnt any! So she had to have a DRY Sunday roast Wow! Is that enjoyable?? No thanks 😡 :( :( :(

I got burger and chips. Burger was that luke warm the cheese was never gonna melt. Chips were cooked so much there wasnt any potatoe in them. You couldnt even put a fork through them. I know what they did cooked. Already cooked fries. Im not stupid. If this is the level of care. For a burger and chips. I will say a pray for those that go there on xmas day

The food was questionable, obviously not fresh, as my son ordered vegetarian option and it was served frozen. Other meals were edible but not very flavorsome and the beef was super chewy, and hard to swallow. However they offered my son a refund via desserts to apologize, as his dish , by his words was awful, even after being microwaved properly!! The waitresses were lovely and very apologetic, also atmosphere was wonderful, the pool table helped kill time, given the wait of 45mins for food?!

We have just enjoyed a scampi tea, staff friendly as always, quick service. A nice evening out

Had my daughters christening here on the 1st September . We catered for 45 people on the party menu & the service and food was amazing. The Assistant manager went through everything with me so we were fully aware of all our options. The food was amazing and they did really well with such a large group. Would highly recommend booking in and hosting an event or party with Hayride.

Had not been here in quite a while and I think everyone deserve a second chance oh boy was I wrong heres what happened. Ordered: £31.28 2 coca colas 1 Fanta also, 1 kids meal and 2 roast beef Sunday dinner and it was inedible the beef we couldn't slice so asked for a steak knife still couldn't slice it tore a piece of and it was like chewing a piece of rubber was going to have a pudding but after the meal and service we received we left I would not spend another penny here ever again absolutely awful. (was contacted by someone from the food group was asked to email them to speak about my HONEST REVIEW so I did that was over a week ago and heard nothing since says it all I suppose)

what a nightmare Used to be lovely here must of got it on a bad day today came as a family of 8 £110 altogether 3 meals was wrong we asked to change and they brought the burger out 3 times still wrong most the food was cold and none of us got to eat our food together as a family half of the tables food didn’t come till 20 minutes later after everyone else’s for the price we paid the food quality wasn’t great unfortunately.

Not worth the money for food. Really nice place just microwave meals. Home cooking would boost this place soo much

After being told about a 40 minute wait on we still decided to order. After 1hr 20mins waiting enough was enough and spoke to the manager to cancel our order. We were not the only table waiting over 1hr and the atmosphere was tense due to the lack of service. We were given an apology that it was not good enough, but this pub seems to be doing very little to rectify this ongoing issue.

First visit in a year or so...First off there was hardly anything available on the menu. No flat breads, no steaks, no ciabatta starter, no garlic bread, various other items missing from each part of the menu. I ordered one of the only available burgers which was the tandoori one, which of course they had no onion rings to serve with. All the food was barely luke warm, a small handful of undercooked cold fries, the chicken wasnt even warm to touch, the bahji was burnt on one side and sloppy in the middle. The baby gem lettuce in my burger wasn't leaves but the core still attached to the stem! And no red onion actually in the burger, just 1 piece on the side. My daughters glass of orange juice was served in a glass covered in lipstick stains and none of my children got ice in their drinks as requested when ordering on the app. My son opted for the bigger appetites burger which came with 6 chips which were dry and undercooked. All three children got baked beans on their plates which were clearly over cooked in the microwave as the beans had all come away from their skins and were dry. Both my sons complained of their burgers being dry and crunchy so loaded them with ketchup to help get them down. My daughters chicken nuggets looked okay. The children enjoyed their ice cream sundae which was the same size as my adults one, with just some extra chocolate on top. I did see a delivery truck arrive when we were served our food so do understand they may have been waiting for a delivery but that doesn't excuse the poor quality of the food that they did have available. The place was empty. We didn't once get asked if the food was okay. Bad service. Bad food. A waste of over £50 and won't be returning anytime soon.

Had a lovely meal at the hayride, I had the flatbread which was great. Staff were lovely especially our waitress Ronnie, very fun evening with the band on as well. Fantastic local pub!

Went on a Thursday lunchtime and ordered the hunter chicken sizzlet. It arrived nice and hot and it was delicious. Good value for money and the staff were very pleasant. Would definitely go back again.

What an absolutely cracking establishment. Went there today and the food was perfectly cooked and arrived in swift time. Would definitely return to gobble up their lovely food again. Yum!

We both had gammon and pineapple and egg although I asked for 2 pineapple and no egg the food came with an egg on both, it was quickly taken away with an offer to re cook but I was happy just to have the egg removed. Service was quick and server table checked and also brought a sweet menu ( which I would definitely have had if I had room) I haven’t been here in a while as a few bad meals but today I thoroughly enjoyed it. Dreadful, I should have known better, an early Sunday afternoon visit and the place was near empty. First problem was a drinks glass requested with a bottle of beer was filthy, asked for a clean glass and it was filthy as well, got a gin glass which looked clean. I had a steak pie and after quite a wait the pie was cold, they gave me another pie which was hot but the tender steak was like shoe leather. The carvary had no roast potatoes and the meat was processed like you'd get in a cheap frozen meal. An idiot behind the bar was throwing bottles into the dolav from distance, if the bottle had smashed the chards could have gone anywhere. Hayride is a particularly unpleasant place to visit.

Recently visited on early Sunday afternoon, I got a bad vibe as soon as I entered, the place was near empty. First problem was a drinks glass requested with a bottle of beer was filthy and the replacement was just as bad, the gin glasses looked clean so asked for one of those. We ordered a couple of carvery meals and I had a steak pie which was served cold, they gave me a replacement which was hot but the tender steak in the pie was as tough as you could imagine. The meat served with the carvery was like you'd get in a cheap frozen meal and at some point we realised it didn't have any roast potatoes. The standard of the food was extremely poor and and a young man behind the bar was like a stuffed dummy apart from him throwing beer bottles into the dolav, that could have been dangerous. Never again, very unpleasant place.

first time at the Hayride today for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it, the Ribeye was cooked perfectly and the table staff were friendly and welcoming as well. Will be returning soon!

Food was cold, stood at the bar for a long while, had to call over in the end, and I was the only person at the bar. Zilch atmosphere.

Thought I'd give it ago for the 1st time after always being 50/50 and I don't think I'd honestly ever go back. We got a meat sharing platter and a scampi portion, it wasn't warm at all, scampi wasnt cooked properly and it was like a kids portion. Best thing about it was the beer.

Stopped here to have a quick lunch before we headed back home. Sadly I left a personal item there which was found by staff then disappeared! Terrible that the management took my possession into his care and “lost” it !!! I lost a lot of money, all my cards a £200 gift card and an iPhone 14! Greene King have spent 2 months messing around then gave me an offer through their insurance of £500 absolutely abhorrent

Dreadful meal the fish was pathetic and not worth the money, the lasagne was only half full in the pot
