Five of us ate and drank for £110. Great food, great beer and great value for money on the early bird special menu.

Visited here twice now... Great outdoor area and lovely inside. Great service by the very friendly owner and staff, food is delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. Definitely will be a regular for us. Highly recommend visiting this pub to anyone in the area, not to be missed 👌

This pub is a hidden gem and we love this place all the staff are just fantastic and the owner Chris is simply the best host you could wish to meet he is really family oriented and every visit is just special. One of the best eating drinking places in yorkshire its 10/10 the food is so good. Well done guys all the best from big Mike and family xxx

The food here is probably the best and cosistently the best for a country Inn anywhere in the UK I have visited. The service and atmosphere are top class and the Maypole was our first go-to eatery when my mother was alive. She loved the food too. Chris and co have created an amazing place. The menu is very varied, there's always something new to try.

Always excellent, so much so I travel there from Blackley 24 miles one way, I can't recommend this pub enough, excellent food and service, the staff are lovely.

It is some time since our last visit. We were warmly welcomed and given a table round the back in a rather cramped area. The food was excellent. The best fish pie I have ever had. Thank you

Been several times and yes it never disappoints. Big portions, friendly banter from owner and staff efficient. Its hidden away in Warley, but still people find it. So downside...always very busy.

Had cheese croquettes and mackerel salad to start which were good. The mixed grill my husband had, the lamb chops were inedible as so tough. I had the sea bass which was nice.

Food was exceptional, l had a hot beef baguette, chips and gravy. I didn't like the fact they didn't have a disabled toilet.

Lovely gastropub in cute village setting. I am a vegetarian and the vegan burger was to die for. Lovely atmosphere and gorgeous staff!

Lovely pub with open fire in the bar main area. However, as we had not made a booking we were seated in a small room that was offset with an unlit stove. Our meals were a very nice grilled salmon and a lamb Henry.

Lovely tasting pub grub and nice friendly atmosphere. I had the gammon with pineapple, egg chips and onion rings which were all lovely cooked. Recommend. The steaks also looked very good which is what I would have next time I go.

45 minutes before our meal arrived , then asked for dessert menu 20 minutes later it hadn’t arrived so we left Good was nice but without the level of service such a shame Usually leave a substantial tip for hard working staff but on this occasion first time ever £0

Lovely Goats cheese salad today. V busy pub, but served with reasonable speed. Friendly staff, beer and steak n' ale pie reported as good!

Having witnessed how the manager spoke to a customer who had complained about her meal, I was most disgusted with his whole attitude and lack of respect towards the customer. I will not be frequenting the Maypole anytime soon. Most upsetting experience.

Did a lovely buffet for dad's funeral wake. Highly recommend

We had a lovely meal last Friday after work. The pub had a two-course fish special on for £21. I had the fried whitebait with garlic mayonnaise and the surf and turf (sirloin steak and prawns) for a £6 supplement. The steak was absolutely delicious and tender. My wife had the fish pie, which was enormous and delicious.

Prebooked table for meal with family. Easy to find and decent sized carpark. Drinks reasonably priced (soft drinks) and lovely interior. As we were a biggish group we pre ordered our meals from the 2 course £21 menu and everything came out at a nice pace. Portion sizes are quite big so very filling and everything is homecooked. I had the burger & sticky toffee pud which were delicious (though the chicken tikka looked really nice) and the whole group enjoyed their meals. The staff were all lovely and chatted to everyone giving that family feel. Highly recommend.

Another superb meal as a special treat. We know the meals here are always outstanding.

Great place, need to sort out their veggie menu though, Veggie Nit roast or something good. Serving a Sunday roast without meat & charging same is a bit odd. It’s not hard to get quality Veggie stuff on the menu. Otherwise a good time was had by all.

Don’t go here. Travelled from Leeds as we had the place recommended and we were visiting a friend. Asked the barmaid if there were tables available for food. She told us that downstairs was full but thought she might be able to get us in upstairs. So asked what looked like the manager, a tallish man with a shaved head. He grunted something like a ‘yeah’ insinuating that she was stupid for asking. Then, walked off shaking his head, like we had broken the law asking if we could eat at the pub. Even the other customers noticed. We walked out, humiliated. Shocking behaviour. The gentlemen wants a lesson how to treat his customers & staff and it would do him good to realise you don’t take your day out on people.

Lovely pub! Good food! Good service! The Maypole is a lovely little pub tucked away in Warley Town. There is a very cosy atmosphere in the main pub area and the larger dining area is good and open with original features scattered throughout. The food is generally good basic food, with a good range on the menu and made well. I only gave it a 4 when comparing to other similar pubs in the Halifax area. But there is certainly nothing wrong with the food, and is good value for money. The roast dinner was good, with plenty of meat served on the plate! Decent Yorkshire pudding too! Definitely recommend for eating out with families of all ages!

Went for some dinner at the weekend. The food was absolutely lovely. Our first visit will definately go again

Really disappointed with this place. Took my daughter and family out for her 30th today, 2 of the group ordered burgers that were over cooked then at the end of the meal we were given desert menus, after 15-20 minutes we saw a member of staff and called them over as no one had come back to take our order then as we tried to order we were told the cheese cakes had sold out which 2 of the party wanted to order. To add insult to injury the member of staff said when we were the given the dessert menu they still had 4 cheesecakes left which means if somebody had come back to the table we could have ordered the deserts we wanted, due to 2 people not being able to order the dessert they wanted everyone decided against dessert and to top it all off they tried overcharging us for things we hadn't ordered totalling more than £20 which I would have paid if my son in law had not checked the bill for me.

Lovely new discovery for us only a few minutes from home. Hot sandwiches during lunch and larger options for bigger appetites. Lovely food well prepared and served by very cheerful and helpful staff. Recommended to book mind

Best pub meal I've had in a long time. Family also loved it. Reasonably priced plenty of it and extremely well prepared. Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone.

Absolutely love this lovely pub,been going 12 plus years and it never disappoints.The food excellent,choice excellent,staff lovely,setting beautiful.would highly recommend,we're like family,we are always made welcome by the cheery staff and managment,its always warm n cosy in winter and lovely to sit out on their patio or in the garden under the tree's.if i cud give them 10* i wud.

Had the two courses for £20 lunch and wasn't disappointed. Huge portions and very well done. Service was good and pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Called for lunch with Friends. Excellent menu choice including roast dinners. Staff were friendly and helpful and polite. Lovely atmosphere and location. Well worth a visit Folks. Good choice of alcoholic drinks and coffees.

Went for lunch on New Year's day. It was extremely quiet and no atmosphere. Roast dinner was good and large portion. Service was slow and rather off hand. I eat here two or three times a year and was rather disappointed on this occasion.

Loved the Maypole, staff are friendly and helpful, a good choice of beers and a good menu all in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Went on a Saturday night. Quite busy but a warm, friendly atmosphere. Excellent friendly service from all the staff. Nothing too much trouble. All the food we had was excellent. Well presented, plenty of it and good quality. I had pigs in blankets to start and z turkey roast for main with crumble and custard for dessert. Excellent. 10/10. Will be going again in the New Year.

Bit disappointed tbf went for a group pre-ordered meal. Looked like if we'd have eaten at lunchtime it would have been delicious, but at 7:30pm it appeared to have been pre-plated & 'kept warm', each slice of roast beef had rock hard ends, the 2 roast potatoes were definitely warmed up, luke warm mash/gravy ,cold veg & a Yorkshire Pudding as crisp as a biscuit. A chicken burger wasn't so much a burger, but rather- pieces of chicken chunks that looked like they belonged on the flatbread meal, this made it quite difficult to eat. It looked like it would have been really good value for money at £19 for two courses, if it was fresh & hot. The pudding was nice though. The staff were very friendly. - & I appreciate it was very busy, but our orders were given long in advance. I'll give it another go at a different time of day because I hope it was just one off bad luck.

Having not booked, my friend and Iwalked in to ask for a table for two, man approached us and quite rudely said, can’t put you in till at least 7pm,then just walked away How to approach should be,so sorry we are totally full,but if you would like to stay for a drink,a table would be available at 7pm. Manners cost nothing,no matter how busy,

Went for lunch, we did book as heard it can get busy. We just had a sandwich, but good choices. You can choose which bread you want and choice of side eg: chunky chips, skinny fries, crisps and more. I had the steak and philly melt and it was delicious, 😋 My Mum enjoyed her prawn, which she had with no sauce and staff were happy to oblige. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We chatted to a few people who were sat around us and they had all become regular visitor's as they enjoyed it that much, which speaks volumes. I looked at their main's and they looked delicious too. We will definitely be returning for an evening meal. 😃 They have themed nights eg: Steak night, Fish and Chip night etc: I will be trying the steak night after enjoying my steak butty so much.

Visiting family we popped in for lunch. Absolutely gorgeous food. I chose a Gluten Free option and was amazed at all the different taste and flavours. Staff were all nicely dressed and very attentive. 1000% recommend. 👏👏👏

Not been here for many years, good menu, healthy big portions. It wasn't full to bursting downstairs, we had a table upstairs, alongside a few others. Young staff who brought our food ( party of 8) initially all good ,but slow to ask if we wanted more drinks throughout the meal. Which led to us spending less and eventually moving downstairs to the bar area to continue our evening.

Excellent food with big portions. Brie in batter in particular. Very helpful and accommodating staff.

Didn't feel that welcoming. Staff were busy and it showed in their demeanour. Especially the male who was showing people to tables and taking orders. We felt rushed and told if we waited any longer to order we'd be behind 15 others! It wasnt said with any humour or kindness and we had only been sat down 10 mins so barely had time to look at the menu. My order was a rushed decision. If it wasn't for such great company of my friends I would have left. Starter was perfect. Main was OK. Good parking.

Our first time last night. Chris and team were most friendly, helpful and courteous. The garden is lovely. Food was good. I can't believe it's taken me so long to go there. I cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you.

Very friendly pub. The food is made in heaven, clearly by Angel's. Food here could well be the best pub food you will ever taste. Try it, I don't think you will be disappointed.

The food was fantastic, cooked perfectly. The staff were funny and friendly and happy to help. The decor on first glance looks nice but starting to show ware. Would I recommend going here, 100% yes, looking forward to returning and sampling some more of the fantastic food and hospitality, oh the beers not bad either 😁.

All was good with staff and food

Just been for a meal with family for my birthday. Fabulous, great staff, great rapport. Four different dishes and desserts all fantastic. Had a couple of beers. It was also tremendous value which was a bonus. It's great for me when I come back to the area to have good food and drink options. I/we will be back. Thanks to all.
