Its a real shame because on the outside it looks ok..ish I used to use it quite regular whilst out riding in the summer months My last visit i was absolutely shocked.. the inside of the only pub in the village has been turned into a filthy hovel and looks like its not seen a tin of polish or a spray anti bac in years.. the land lady is an absolute slob i found out later is called Dawn she has a bad attitude with ZERO customer serviceor manners for that matter... ice with coke was too much effort bare in mind its 30°. 1 drink was enough to hunt out trip adviser to leave this review. If I could leave no stars I would based on my experience

Not the first time we have been, and certainly won't be the last. I have never experienced better value for money anywhere!!! Being an old traditionalist I went for the roast beef dinner, never had better. Four of us adults with full dinners and a few various drinks and I was more than happy with the bill!!! Thank you Magna Charta!!

A good value for money Sunday Lunch, in a small friendly local village pub. Well presented, plenty of choice. Meals are served within the mid week but have not tried them if they are as good as Sunday's it will be well worth a visit! Try it for your self

I was staying in the Premier Inn and bought the meal deal at The Anchor. Having dined here on several occasions the service is always amazing both at dinner and breakfast. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Stu, Josh, Sky and the rest of the team are amazing and make your dining experience great. The food is always lovely.

I was called out in a storm to fix a problem on the road outside. The friendly gentleman from the pub kindly invited me in for a coffee and to warm myself up. I am very grateful for their kindness.

Went for a celebratory birthday meal to the Sheffield Arms which had come highly recommended. We weren't disappointed. It was the best 'pub' meal I've had in years. Two had meals from the menu and two of us had the wonderful all you can eat carvery. Everyone enjoyed their meals (lasagne and Yorkshire Pudding wrap) but the carvery was exceptional. Great choice of vegetables, meats, sausages and the most gorgeous baby potatoes. The staff were great, very cheerful and friendly and the puddings were delicious too. I understand that the Sunday carvery has even more choice. We paid £9.95 for the carvery - brilliant value. The pub is beautifully decorated; of course it was busy but the service was excellent. It still retains a local feel but definitely book if you want a meal. Thank you!!!!
