The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

5* food and service. 2024 Update The Korean wings were a disappointment—boiled wings with sauce poured over them, tough to eat and lacking any standout flavor. The burger was far from the quality I experienced on my last visit. The bacon was undercooked, the patty overcooked, and the coleslaw left much to be desired. Giving 3 stars feels generous, but I hope this review prompts some improvements.

Stopped for tea with my son on way back to Leeds Great meal, onion rings were lush and lovely tender chicken. Good prices, spacious and has an adults only area. Will be visiting again

We dropped in on spec', we'd just visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park and were looking for somewhere to eat. We were seated in the restaurant area and ordered two meals from the Specials Board and a child's meal from the menu. The food was great, good portions all round, the child's Gammon and chips would have stumped an adult. The staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend and visit again if we're in the area.

Went for the Sunday lunch carvery if you can eat all of this well done excellent portions and value for money in a traditional Yorkshire hotel.

Busy, atmospheric, comfy, good beer selection

We were here for a meal as guests for a special wedding anniversary celebration, we don't live in the area but would love the opportunity to revisit. The staff were lovely, they all worked hard to look after everyone, the room we used was superb, and the food was outstanding. The home made steak pie - oh my goodness, I'd travel the 2 hours from my home just for this! The home made lasagne was equally excellent according to others on our table. The pavlova was absolutely delicious and provided in copious quantities. Honestly superb quality food and service and surroundings. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Best carvery in Doncaster and anywhere else I've been 100%.

Been here a few times before over the last 2-3 years and it has always been very good, but this last time told me something has changed. We waited 30minutes to order food on a not-so busy Sunday, eventually going up to the bar and asking to order, then we waited another 30-40 minutes with no food served. Table near to us arrived 15 mins afterwards and were on their mains before anything had arrived. Clearly they had a problem and did eventually acknowledge this. When food finally arrived it was ok, not as good as I remember it. They did offer a round of drinks as compensation but will be a while until we go back.

Editing review as I thought this was about another place entirely. Fisherman's is an awesome pub. Love the location and the beer. No food was on when we went this time though. Great pub, can be understaffed a lot though and queue times can sometimes affect the experience.

Almost closing time when we arrived , they made us bacon butties even though the kitchen had closed ,the staff made us really welcome and the bacon butties were amazing lots of bacon inside in a nice large brown bread bun simply awesome will definitely call again only earlier next time great atmosphere lovely helpful staff nothing was too much trouble highly recommended a visit , also a lovely gift shop to browse through all in all worthy of 5 stars.

Weetons Food Hall…. Went for breakfast .. after waiting almost an hour a cold fatty bacon sandwich and cold eggs benedict arrived! Chased the food and was told it was on its way - it arrived 15 minutes later. When I complained about the service and food as I was a paying the £40 bill I was told “yes, I agree, I’d suggest complaining online”…. So here you go…. Don’t be taken in by the high prices and appealing location … the service and food are truly appalling …
