We are regular visitors to the Red Lion in Myddle. We return every time because the food and service is second to none. We always receive a warm welcome and we know how hard Pete and Jackie and staff work to make sure that their guests are not disappointed. If you fancy a meal out around Shrewsbury (lunch or dinner) then look no further than the Red Lion. You won’t regret it.

We have been here many times and have always had great food and good service, however, today was different. We had a 1.30pm booking which we arrived on time for. The pub was mobbed which was great to see. This was my mums 4th anniversary of her passing and we had invited our daughter and family. Drinks order was taken and delivered and our food order was also taken and all was well. However, after waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes and seeing people who hadn’t even arrived before us, tucking into their food, we asked where ours was, especially as we had our 3 year old granddaughter with us, who kept saying she was hungry. The waitress came up and said that the food order hadn’t printed and apologised, saying our drinks would be free and the food would be with us in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later it arrived and was lovely. I have to say, this experience did put me into a mood especially as 2 of us had fish and chips and our granddaughter had the chicken goujons and we asked for tomato ketchup, which was delivered in a ridiculously small quantity, which I really didn’t understand as it was for 3 people. Ok, I made my feelings clear by then, not rude but clear, however, the waitress was not impressed. When we eventually got our food, we were asked a number of times how our food was, yet not one of them noticed that we hadn’t received our food after well over an hour. I think the biggest issue was, they felt giving us our drinks free was all they needed to do. Whilst this was fair, not one person when we paid, came out and apologised about the very poor experience we had today. We didn’t go there to get free drinks but to have an enjoyable meal to mark my mums anniversary.

Not the easiest place to find but well worth the effort. A proper pub, good local ales, excellent food at very reasonable prices and all in all convivial atmosphere , in a nutshell everything that a good pub should be. We look forward to returning soon.

I just want to start by saying, the food here is incredible. But I cannot come here any more times without leaving a review. It's the third time in the last 6 weeks that we have been here (because we love the food) but EVERY time the female waitress is so rude, arrogant and brings the whole experience and atmosphere down. Such a shame as everything else in here is lovely. We have highlighted this to the manager, but thought a review is the correct way to get the message heard. Hopefully some customer service training can put this waitress back on a happy path. Keep up the good work with the food. Will still return just because the food is of a great standard.

Visited Great Malvern for the 1st time with friends. I chose this place due to it's good reviews and it didn't disappoint. Quick and friendly service. I had a lovely mushroom soup with bread, others had sultana scone with butter and jam, ploughmans , panini and a bacon omelette with jacket potato. Apple juice, various teas , americano and hot chocolate also consumed. Everyone loved it and I will definitely go back. Very reasonably priced too! Thanks and keep up the good work.

Stopped here for lunch Bank Holiday Monday, sat in the spacious garden with the dogs and ate some good quality food. Pub food has become so expensive last few years that what was once a regular activity has become a treat. So great when you do get good food and lovely staff.

My wife and I attended the Royal Oak on Sunday for a lovely lunch. When we was greeted by young lady, It was very pleasant. The pub wasn’t busy so we could sit where we wanted to. We ordered roast beef dinner and roast chicken dinner which is absolutely fantastic, great service pleasant staff and a fantastic pint of Camden Stout which was great as I normally drink Guinness but they didn’t have Guinness on tap. My wife took a cheesecake home with her as we were full, but we would definitely recommend this place and would definitely be attending again.

Staff are extremely friendly and always up for a great laugh. Portion sizes are very large, great value for money. Wide range of drinks to suit either a quiet night out or even a messy one. Amazing atmosphere all around be it in the restaurant or the bar. I discovered this little gem on accident, it was a very happy accident and I will be returning without a doubt. Thanks Garry and team

I booked the Moatshed for a surprise 80th birthday party for my mum. We had just over 50 guests and I would say this was a perfect number for the venue. I was given a wide choice of items to create an afternoon tea menu, along with access in the morning to put up decorations. Nothing was too much trouble for the team, even when we had people drop out at the last minute - we were even given one guest's full selection of vegetarian afternoon tea to take home for her, along with a large 'doggy bag of leftovers. They catered for various dietary requirements, including vegan and gluten free, with no problems at all. I cannot praise them all enough - all the staff were a joy to deal, the venue was spotless and we were really looked after.
