We had a 50th, birthday party. We're upstairs. The barman was, extremely helpful, polite and friendly. We had a great time

Stopped by to watch the football, and the staff were fantastic and very pleasant.

What a night. The Ronaldos, arguably Shropshire's finest band had been booked hence my visit to Ashley's. Nice place, 20 somethings, 30 Somethings, 40 Somethings etc... You get the drift, perfect for upwardly mobile couples, groups of friends etc. Upstairs too. Chic bar across the road from Shrewsbury's award winning market. Prices are reasonable too at £5 a pint with a range of draught beers including continental lagers. All in all superb night and service with a smile too. No food so can't comment on this aspect.

Our first visit here and really liked it. Set on two floors with live music and sports on TV its a buzzing little place. We would definitely visit again when in Shrewsbury.

Fabulous bar. With polite and friendly staff who went out of their way to accommodate our group of 9 ladies for our friends 50th birthday celebrations. Great live music on Thursday and Friday night. Thanks guys. We will be heading straight here on our next visit.

Good little boozer in the town centre. Unfortunately it was a very quiet night in town so the place was quiet but I have been here when busy and always friendly and welcoming. Typically priced for the area. Usually a good singer or DJ in the house to keep clients entertained. Worth a visit.

Popped In here for a drink on the 16th of September. Nice bar/ pub with a grand set of lads behind the counter. Both of whom were very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to suggestions regarding where to go for drinks around the town. Looks like a good live music venue too with things like Northern Soul nights etc.

Great music venue. Very popular and busy Bank holiday weekend. Great staff and good atmosphere, would revisit.

Never had a problem with service in this bar and it’s ideal for the town centre after shopping or whatever. Great to sit out and people watch if the weather is good. Coffee and cake deal is great value. Live music regularly and available for functions upstairs

Ashley let us have his Function Room for a couple of hours last night - 20+ of us. The service was 1st class!! Very attentive …. Would definitely definitely recommend!

I've heard about 'ashleys' but never been in on a Sunday, seems a great chilled place lots of older people and good older music too .

A group of us visited the bar and felt extreme unwelcome! We were the only group of people in there and felt judged the whole time as we were being stared at and talked about. Would not recommend going here at all, the pub was empty before we arrived….says it all!! Support others!

Stopped on a sunny day and sat outside with a wonderful double espresso, wonderful.

Disgusted this evening, refused entry due to living in a TF1 postcode area, even though when arrived stated that myself and wife wanted to drink outside. Felt very discriminated against due to the postcode area we lived in, even though we weren’t going into a tier 2 system due to covid... until the early hours of Saturday morning. I work in the SY1 area 48hours a week so was very disappointed with the service I received when trying to enjoy a lovely evening out.

Ashley's was very mindful of safety for customers and staff. Hand gel encouraged and safe distancing for ordering and collecting drinks. No bar service. Toilets available, one person at a time. As always pleasant, friendly staff and great choice of drinks alcoholic and non alcoholic.

Ashley’s Bar is excellent whether you want to pop in for a drink during a day out in Shrewsbury or whether you are after a longer afternoon or evening out in town. Staff are friendly and choice of drinks is excellent. Definitely worth a visit. + July 2020 - Superbly managed during a difficult time. Safe. Clean. 💪 + Keep an eye on the Facebook page, there is always lots going on!

George is very professional and it's a nice central bar in Shrewsbury with good DJs and live music

We had a friends birthday evening planned for this bar so while in town earlier in the week (Monday) popped in for lunch, the service was excellent very helpful chatty staff food was good as was the coffee. The evening event this place comes alive Sunday evening a great singer got the place singing although it’s small here it has a great atmosphere service is quick at the bar and great staff. The only thing that was a minor issue is the gents is very small so you might have to wait to go.

We were staying in shrewsbury & popped into Ashleys for a drink and possibly crisps as getting peckish. I am coeliac so then amazed to see the options of GF Paninis! I had pastrami, gherkin & US mustard. Very nice & the barman was very knowledgable about GF (even described how my tortillas were GF but not my husbands). A lovely little bar & very friendly staff.

With only 8 people in the cafe, the noise level felt as if we were surrounded by 20 people. We politely asked if there is a drinks menu and the bartender told us there is none and we just ask for what we want and they tell us if they have it. We proceeded to ask for a double rum with coke and a glass of wine. It totalled over 14 pounds. In hindsight we should have asked for the receipt but the bartender already looked as if she didnt want us in the cafe. We later saw a menu on another table and looked at it only to see the drinks and prices were displayed. Why lie? Why be defensive? Looked very promising and the interior décor was lovely and cosy. Shame we had such a bad first encounter, even if it may be just a misunderstanding.

Love this little bar, bistro, coffee shop. Good to pop in of meet mates, relaxed and easy atmosphere and it gets the late afternoon sun outside!

Nice place dog friendly staff and manager nice but some of the locals weren't didn't bother me but it did my wife ...would go in again though beer was nice

This is a pleasant little cafe in the centre of town. They do some great teas and coffees and if you're in at lunchtime, try one of their home-made pies, they're lovely.

Ok venue but nothing overly special. Wouldn't rush back in but I'm sure they wouldn't worry about that as it was busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying the live band.

Hosted a surprise party here for my best friends 21st. Staff were so attentive particularly the girl working behind the bar, she did a really great job! The food supplied was brilliant and was definitely a great venue for the event we were holding!

Had the baileys cocktail it was amazing but too small and packed with ice so needed to get two. We all annoyed our food, tasted fresh and was plentiful! (Mexican only)

Visited on a Saturday evening. Drinks very good value for money and impressed that gin and tonic served in a balloon/copa glass. Unfortunately my husband and I could only bear to stay for one drink due to the noise level. The place wasn't full, so can't understand why it was so noisy, but we couldn't wait to leave.

We had a brilliant evening here on our stay over in Shrewsbury. We were very lively and it felt a very welcoming and had a lovely atmosphere. Also thanks for entertaining us Daniel . We will be back when we visit again.

I was sitting by the door in Ashleys bar minding my own business and I was then suddenly thrown out due to a table that some Ashleys staff idiot left by the door. And this is my fault because. ........? I had nothing to do with the table, i wasn't even sat at it. I moved it for the guy who claimed it was blocking the door (which it wasn't) but i still got thrown out - not sure what was expected from me but I will never ever go back to this venue ever again, not a chance. I go out for a quiet night and to be left alone, not to be subjected to violence and assault by the staff who you're paying!

Small bar in Shrewsbury slightly older clientele but great atmosphere and friendly people in the bar. Usually Shrewsbury rudeness from other folk. But that's Shrewsbury for you.

Nos pidió un jarro de validar un cóctel normalmente no sirve. Estaba listo y esperando por nosotros. Bebida muy agradable, incluso mantuvieron sobrantes hasta que volvió más tarde en la noche. Sin duda visitar de nuevo para un pitcher de cóctel muy buena relación calidad-precio personal muy agradable.

Ashley's is a lovely little caffee/bar in the centre of Shrewsbury. The owner (Ashley- who'd have guessed!) is always friendly and happy to chat, as are all the staff.

I drink here quite often and found the owner and staff very friendly☺ There is a good range of beer's and the wife Love's her preseco at Ashley's. It is good to sit at the window and people watch.

Popped in around 4ish on Saturday (4th) for a quick bite,chips, panini and a drink, all good with friendly attentive staff, so had another drink and watched the staff make 'their' mulled wine with bottles of red wine, spirits (freely measured) and fruit, so thought we'd call back later. PM we did pop in and the mulled wine did not disappoint then at nine the music livened up and we could not believe the great atmosphere and how the place changed to a small intermit venue with music pitched to the age group within the room. The staff attentive again and acknowledged we'd been in early when serving us, will go back again.

Although I visited this establishment on a Saturday night, it lacked atmosphere. There were limited choices of drinks also

Was shopping with my daughter on Saturday and dropped in here for lunch.Menu looked standard of sandwiches, toasties and jacket potatoes.I chose a 'turkey, cheese and cranberry' sandwich. I couldn't quite believe that I received standard sliced white, one wafer thin plastic sliced piece of turkey, sprinkling of pre grated plastic cheese and the thinnest scraping of cheap cranberry sauce. This is a nice little bar at night and has great music on some evenings which I have attended. It is a shame that it can't serve something better during day, but it does explain why so quiet.Staff were pleasant enough. Got easily confused with order as came back twice to check and I did complain but they only offered to feed the comments back.

Visited in September and the weather was nice enough for us to sit outside. The tables were cluttered with half empty glasses and over filled ashtrays, we had to clear up before sitting down. Inside, it was clear that those known to the bar staff were warmly welcomed and engaged in conversation, whilst we were served politely, the service was lacking warmth. Would we go back again, probably not, there are loads of great places in Shrewsbury to enjoy a drink. Ashley's Bar was disappointing.

Always a pleasure going here, right in the centre of town perfect stop off. Ashley's offers a perfect drink weather hot or cold. The place is clean, staff are attentive, smartly dressed and always smiling. Reasonably price and excellent food.

I popped into Shrewsbury and wanted a quick light bite to eat. Ashley's is a small but intimate little cafe / bar. The food and service was very good. The quality of the meal was good and was value for money, definately worth a visit.

I frequent Ashley's on the occasional Thursday evening or afternoon, a great range of musicians play week in week out. Ashley's is situated in a prominent position in town, has a vibrant atmosphere with a great selection of drinks and cold beer. Great for a light or liquid lunch in the day too.

what a good evening we had. Good staff welcomeing host. More enjoyable than main stream pubs. Even arranged taxi for us as we are not local. Next time visiting we will return to ashleys bar

Can't comment on the food as we only visited for Coffee.Very nice Coffee and friendly owner and staff.Tables and chairs outside although somewhat spoiled by the buses pulling up nearby.

As a visitor to Shrewsbury this is our second visit to Ashley's and we was not dissapointed. Lovely light lunch, nicely presented, good value and really pleasant service. Thank you

We popped in on Saturday for a toastie and a drink. This was the first time that we'd been in. It was great! The food was very good and the atmosphere nice and relaxed.We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We only had a toastie and a drink but it was very nice and we will definitely pop in next time we are in Shrewsbury shopping

lazy Saturday afternoon, just me and the wife. Visited several bars during the course of the afternoon, and we agree that Ashleys offers the best value amongst all the premium bars in town, no question. Laid back atmosphere, great selection of drinks, some sensibly priced lunchtime food, and great staff makes for a perfect place to relax, enjoy a drink, and watch a busy town, and the world in general, go by. Highly recommended.
