The best restaurants serving British food in South West

Everything was great but not cheap :) On the menu it says portions are big but in reality they are not

An overnight Brit Stop in our motorhome en route to visit friends. It was a cold damp foggy night & it was lovely to walk into a warm friendly pub / restaurant with a log fire & beautifully decorated for Xmas. There was a good choice on the Menu with many home made dishes. The food was good & the beer & wine. Also very reasonably priced.

Popped in for a swift one after going round the garden and up the tor. Friendly staff, great service, okay drinks selection. Didn't have food so can't comment. Seemed like it needed a bit of life pumped into the walls, had a very local village pub vibe in most, very cool fire place in the bar. Would absolutely go back for an evening, get a feel that it can be quite a fun one in here!

Six of us visited the Somerset Wagon for Sunday Lunch today. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable, a good choice of drinks from the well stocked bar a fantastic choice of Sunday lunches, including vegetarian and some lovely desserts to finish and all at a reasonable price and served by the very professional waiting staff. The food was plentiful and cooked to perfection. Thank you to the Somerset Wagon for making our little get together a perfect afternoon.

2nd and last time, seagulls enjoyed my chips, never again. how can you make a chip so horrible. please dont even try this place.

Even after 3 months, we still remember the plow well. What a lovely place to stay with a van and what a friendly local crowd and good service in the pub itself!

Such a well run establishment. Great beer and food. So welcoming. Lou and Jordan could not do enough.The Sunday lunch was great. Fresh vegetables and choice of meat was brilliant. Service throughout the meal was up and beyond. Lou made the experience that little more special with her bubbly personality. Nothing was too much trouble. The general vibe of the pub was fantastic and easy to see why it was so busy with diners and drinkers. A real hidden Jem. Other establishments should really visit to see how they could improve on their own service levels. Well done. We will be back.

Great pub, cold beer good food and fab service

Great little stop off for a drink and bar snacks. No food served anymore but well worth a stop off.

Friendly staff. A good selection of drinks. Puts on regular entertainment.

Excellent pub, visited before an FGR game. Owners were very friendly and welcoming, log burner on the go and delicious pizzas!

Very quiet Wednesday night ruined for them by 13 drunk blokes. In fairness we did sort of behave and the landlady looked after us really well

What a reception! Perhaps you have to born here to enter! The man behind the bar was rude. The one in front of the bar stared opened mouthed. Makes the pub in the Last Werewolf In London seem friendly. At least they warned the non locals to stay off the moor.

Visited a few years ago for dinner and was mightily impressed but Sunday lunch recently was very poor, the web menu neared no relation to the menu we were given, although the list looked appetising ( and more expensive) steak was poor and underdone and grisly. Won’t go again
