Only drank in The Plough on a Sunny ☀️ Saturday evening visit Parking 🅿️ was tricky small car park and busy, not helped by the Pub Large bins being badly positioned in the area and occupying a parking bay. Ordered a Diet Coke that turned out was flat , served in a dirty rimmed glass in a old badly stained Coca Cola branded glass, and only 3/4 ‘s full, for no reason given ??!!! Sat out in the Beer Garden area, that was nice & large in size, shame the picnic tables had not been maintained properly and were chipped and splittered in places and could have done with a good jet washing to tidy them up a bit?? Lots of seemingly unnecessary chalk boards telling you what to do or not to do!!! More effective would have been paying more attention to the Beer Garden picnic tables? Looked at the menu, but in light of the Diet Coke issues, decided to eat elsewhere.

Absolutely love this place! It's a hidden gem. Very very cheap beer, wonderful friendly owners that are always happy to chat and a real homely traditional feel. Garden is fab too! We come here with our vintage cars and always look forward to seeing them again.

Absolutely beautiful meal,,Stilton pork. Waitress service was amazing,,red hair lady think her name was julie,,so lovely and polite and nothing was any trouble,, tho wasn't so impressed with a dark hair lady behind the bar,,very abrupt and when asked twice for dessert order she wasn't very helpful at all ( again the lovely waitress sorted us out, also had to asked twice for the bill to the lady at the bar.. the pub is amazing , absolutely impressive food, would 100% recommend you to anyone

Severn Starts was a convenient choice for a walk today around the old coalfield canal. It had good parking, provided a good value lunch menu served in exceptionally well presented surroundings. There is a lovely garden area at the rear. Lucky Timsbury , if I lived closer it would be my local.

We would highly recommend the Old Mill. We were warmly welcomed and had a table quickly prepared for us after another group left. We ate from the small plates for lunch course , and each one was really nice and beautifully presented. I particularly enjoyed the Maple Belly Pork and the rest of our group had the Salmon (equally well presented and enjoyed). The wait time was short and the service and staff excellent. We would definitely return and can highly recommend.

We've been customers for years but our last visit was appalling. My mother is terminally ill and in a wheelchair, we arrived for a carvery and found somewhere to sit in the bar which we didn't realise was reserved because there were no reserved signs, only cutlery laid out (which apparently substitutes a reserved sign, whereas most restaurants have cutlery laid out on tables anyway, so how is one to know the difference?). We were then told to move by a red-headed woman with glasses who was the picture of apathy with her attitude and very surly when I challenged her on the lack of reserved signs (apparently cutlery being laid out on a table means that it's OBVIOUS the table is reserved) well, it clearly doesn't suffice or we wouldn't have sat there. I had to move my wheelchair bound mother to sit by the toilets on a table that was raised too high for her to sit at, which clearly wasn't suitable. We were appalled at the servers surly attitude - We would have been happy to move if placed at a suitable table and asked politely. I'm afraid this establishment has lost us as regulars.
