On first impressions it’s not a stand out- but the food and service was absolutely amazing- could not fault. Best food that been tasted for a long time- absolutely brilliant: kids loved it too. Good little play area, not loud or boisterous inside, dog friendly. All in all 10/10 😀

Situated on a hill. It has a large gravelled car park. Access is via the car park entrance, and the booking in desk is at the bar. The bedrooms are up the quite steep stairs. We were shown our room and the case carried up. Large comfortable bed, plenty of surrounding space. Very lovely bathroom with a large shower. The restaurant was open for meals until 8:30 pm. They had some good menu choices, and the food was tasty. The staff were very friendly, and the pub was very popular.

Great service and welcome at this family run pub and B&B. Liz , her family and staff made us really welcome at this affordably priced Bed and Breakfast on the outskirts of Cinderford. Authentic customer service, always delivered with positivity and a smile. And a great breakfast!

Don't be fooled by the exterior of this building as it doesn't do any justice to the interior, it's a different world. A fairly large free car park with a few potholes but more than enough space for everyone. Evening meal was excellent & the portions were large by anyone's standards. Service was first class & friendly & both of us had a comfortable night's sleep, breakfast was plentiful & very tasty. The drinks were fair value for money considering that this is a country type pub next to a forest. I paid £4-10 for a pint of carlsburg which I can recommend.

We stayed 2 nights with our dog, the landlord and lady were lovely as were all the other staff, the local people are very welcoming, the food was lovely, they said we could eat in our room as our dog didn't get on with another dog in the restaurant on the first night, the second night the kitchen was closed but the landlady made me a sandwich that I very much appreciate, and the lovely jade found me a charger that I could use cause I lost mine, overall we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back very soon (not with our dog) xx

Loved this place stayed for 2 nights for work and all I can say is don't judge a book by its cover, my room was lovely and very clean. All the staff were brilliant and friendly even the locals were nice. The food was amazing I had burgers on both nights and they were both amazing, lots of beer to pick from. The breakfast I would have to say has to be in my top 10 I have had while working away (I stay in around 3 different hotels a week) I will say that the portions are very generous so if you only little bit hungry maybe go for a light bite. If I could give more than 5 stars I would will be staying again.

I stayed overnight in a deluxe double room which was warm and comfortable but the noise from the band downstairs was almost unbearable until 11.45pm. Considering I had booked an early run in the forest the next day I can't say that this was a good night's rest.

Liz and the guys at the white hart did our Wedding reception on Halloween. They were absolutely amazing they supplied a buffet for 40 people and also decorated in halloween decor. Faultless, liz went above and beyond. Food was amazing no complaints from anyone! We also stayed over. The room was spotless and well presented. Breakfast next morning included in the room cost was also great. I cant fault the white hart. Thank you guys for being so amazing!!

Staying in Ross on wye we came across this pub while out for the day. Sunday roast was excellent and was piping hot. Staff were lovely very accommodating friendly. If your passing pop in you won't be disappointed

My family and I booked to in an air bnb a few miles away and came across this place for a bite to eat in the evening. Beautiful setting, with forest views in the distance and recently refurbished inside. The staff were amazing from start to finish and very accommodating. Overall, a very pleasant experience and would not hesitate to come again. The bar manager and staff are a credit to the business!

Came in as a table of five and had a really lovely meal. The staff were prompt and friendly, the food was really good too. All in all was decent experience and decent food at a very reasonable price. Keep up the good work and I'll be sure to come back next time we're down in the area

Since it being refurbished and new staffing it's become a wonderful place the food was amazing and reasonably priced, I'd highly recommend!

It is a beautiful inn with lovely staff, however the food was quite bad. I ordered a lasagna which was made of layers of pasta, 2 tomato slices and a small ball of mince meat drowned by chees. My wife ordered the nut roast which was a very small portion and both meals were reheated. Whilst both dishes had copius ammounts of chips and salad to make up for the quantity, they need to improve the quality of the dishes

Det som ändå gav 2 av 5 som omdöme var de väldigt trevliga tjena i baren som tog emot oss. -Men, sängen saknade i vanlig ordning (här i GB) bäddmadrass och eftersom den var så sliten så att resårfjädrarna kändes igenom så var det inte ok. -Det var dock inte det enda som orsakade dålig sömn utan även ett takfönster utan gardin, värme och ingen ventilation i rummet (fanns en liten fläkt men med 0 ventilation gör den mindre nytta), det kanske värsta var stanken av sköljmedel från både lakan och handdukar. Visst finns det en del som fortfarande använder det så förhatliga sköljmedlet, men på hotell bör det inte användas alls, om det ändå görs så bör det ju vara i små mängder och givetvis parfymfritt. Handdukarna var så mättade av sköljmedel att de inte torkade upp nåt alls. De kändes istället kladdiga och sköljmedelsstanken satte sig på huden. Här borde de verkligen tänka på att börja att åtminstone dosera rätt, men ännu hellre sluta med sköljmedel för allas, textiliernas och miljöns bästa. Frukost för 10£: två stekta ägg och två toast, juice på plastflaska, yogurt i plastförpackning, flingor i småförpackningar, snabbkaffe i kopp, tepåse i kopp. Knappast värt sitt pris. Här lägger man inte två strån i kors för att skapa nåt som helst mervärde. Man får inte ens det man betalar för. +Middag, ostburgare var ok. Goda pommes till. +schampoo och balsam på rummet +relativt nyrenoverade rum ytmässigt. -Möbler gamla och slitna och med lite skräp kvar sen tidigare gäster. +bra Wi-Fi +fina omgivningar

Food excellent, with good choices for vegetarian and vegan, as well as carnivores; generous portion sizes; very friendly and helpful staff.

Food was plentiful, but the vegetarian Wellington was very disappointing.

You’ve heard the saying don’t judge a book by it’s cover well this is the White Hart Inn. Sadly not inviting from the outside but, once inside totally different had a good welcome nice clean room and, good decor after a recent refurbishment. The reason I’ve given 4 ⭐️ and, not 5 ⭐️ is purely a personal reason due to mobility issues. I thought a bannister would have helped me to climb the steep stairs. But, in fairness my bags were carried for me which I appreciated 🙂

2 night stay. Room very warm with no window to open but clean and new bathroom. Described as deluxe but not and sound proof definitely not. Music did stop at 11:15 Sat. Breakfast was very good. Good parking and friendly staff.

Great little local, staff were extremely friendly especially the lady on bar and the young lad from the Kitchen. The food was really nice, we had chilli cheese bites to start with which are a must have and then burgers for mains. The quality of the beef burger was amazing and the balsamic dressing on the salads was incredible. They also do Guiness on tap. Would like to note that the portions are huge, it was like an episode of man vs food. But all in all this gets a 5/5 from us!

This pub is definitive proof that you should not judge a book by its cover! It looks recently refurbished inside and spotless! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. There is a great selection of drinks on tap and there is a good selection of bottles drinks as well. The food is incredible, especially for the price you pay. If you want a hearty, flavoursome and good looking meal, look no further! If you go past this place and don't try it, you've missed out on something special!

Ginormous portions, very quick and friendly service, very yammi food. There is also a nice kiddy play area. Has a feeling of a nice local pub but was very welcoming for non-locks like ourselves, too.

Came in on a cold and wet Wednesday evening. The place was deserted, we were welcomed by great staff who checked that food was still being served before we ordered anything as it was so quiet. Food available, what a great choice of vegetarian options and the portions were huge. Such good value and so tasty. Our dog was offered a bowl of water in spite of barking at anyone who came past. She was welcomed as much as we were. Excellent WiFi too. Lovely local with such friendly staff and regulars. Thank you

Nice stay, little bit of noise from children but soon fell asleep not used to not having a window and found it a bit stuffy but clean . Lovely staff and fantastic meal in the evening. Would stay again as dog friendly.

Great pub for a pint and some food, if you’re ever passing through make sure to stop here for a bite and a pint. Highly recommend this place.

Today we had a family celebration at the White Hart Inn, Cinderford. It only reopened yesterday after being refurbished. We were pleasantly surprised with the update the pub has undergone, it was bright and comfortable. The waiting staff were attentive and the food was delicious. We felt very well looked after. A table of 16 isn't the easiest to deal with but Liz and staff were great and we will be returning very soon.

After visiting this establishment over many years I went today to meet some family for a drink to be confronted in front of a full pub by the landlady for a ‘so called bill of £8.95’ we apparently didn’t pay 10 months ago! We have visited multiple times within the last 10 months, some being for drinks only, some being for meals and nothing has ever been said to us before about this. When we asked for the ‘so called bill’ today that was outstanding we were told it was not important and they do not have it after this length of time! So why today is it so important? We’ve paid it regardless, no thanks received. The way we have been treated is disgusting and we are still in shock at the way it was handled, we should have been pulled to one side and spoken to politely! All we can say is watch what this pub charges you and make sure you get a receipt every time and keep it for over 12 months for your own records! Also we have been made aware they do not pay tradesmen in full when they have work carried out in their pub.

Food excellent. Good menu. Steak baguette top quality. Scampi excellent. Room lovely but airless. No opening window. Car park large on a slope. Plenty of space no height restriction.

Great size bathroom and shower, comfy bed, free parking.

We stayed in a room sold as a "Deluxe King Room" The room was booked as their website described it to have a King Size bed. On arrival we found the bed to be a standard double bed! We queried this to be told they do not have king size beds in the building and the description of the room related to the quality of the room and not the size of the bed as was they don't have king size beds. After looking at their website it still shows the room to have a king size bed. Therefore, in my opinion the room was mis sold. The room must have been clean as it smelt very strongly of bleach A used tea bag was found on the floor by the bin. The web site says "Soundproofed Windows" but they are definitely not! The noise was virtually the same with the window open or closed The room was directly above speakers on the ground floor and the volume of the music was unbearable until they were finally turned off at 23:42. The bathroom had nowhere to put any towels or toiletries and one of the walls had unfinished work. Loads of polyfilla filling cracks and unpainted. The lights were movement sensitive on the staircase and did not activate until you were half way up the steep staircase. When it was dark the staircase was quite dangerous. In the morning we went down for breakfast and I have to say it was really good, but the only person in the building was the chef and we were unable to talk to anybody. Therefore, this is the only way we can voice our concerns.

The negatives first -On arrival the outside looked very dilapidated. There was weeds everywhere and it was in desperate need of a lick of paint. The windows were dirty and you could see stuff stacked up on the sills inside. It was with trepidation that we stepped inside. However, the bar and restaurant area were nicely furnished, even though the carpet was filthy. We found it strange to have to order our breakfast the day before and there was only an hour during which it was available 8-9. A little early if your on you're holidays. There was one lady behind the bar who was run ragged as it was a really busy Saturday afternoon. To her credit she found the time to take us to our room. We stayed in room 2 and were pleasantly surprised. It was spotlessly clean with lovely fresh, soft towels. It was a shame that there's no wardrobe and only two hooks behind the door to hang anything up, but as we were only there for a night it was adequate. The bathroom was stunning with a twin shower with plenty of hot water. We decided to eat there on the Saturday night having walked a lot during the day. We decided on the combo for two people which was absolutely massive, really hot and fresh. The price of drinks was reasonable and we had a really pleasant evening. The Inn is on a busy road and the windows are old, so there was quite a bit of noise overnight. Hubby had ordered a full English for breakfast and I had a bacon sarnie, which was packed full of bacon. There was also a choice of cereals, yoghurts and some lovely fresh fruit -strawberries, raspberries and apricots. The host was very friendly and chatted with us for a while over breakfast. Would we stay again -yes for an overnight stay.

I didn't spend long enough there to judge the place. Couldn't tell that there were any ales on tap, but the drinks we ordered were just fine. A good group of old boys in there for early doors is always a sign of a decent boozer!

I stayed here earlier this year and it is a family run pub hotel, good was fantastic prices very reasonable rooms clean and very quiet, off road parking, loverly people very friendly

Really pleased with this hotel, situated in a lovely location next to the forest of Dean with beautiful views of the forest from the front of the hotel and a play park to the side for the children. Looking as though it has had a lot of refurbishment to it, modernised through most parts of it with a nice bar and seating area with modernised toilets at the front and then through the left hand side up some stairs takes you to fresh new hotel rooms. The staff are very friendly and welcoming along with the locals. Our hotel room was very spacious and clean for a good price with tea and coffee on the side, fresh towels on the bed with bodywash/shampoo samples and a bright clean en suite with a large flat top shower head. The only thing I could suggest is that possibly in the future the hotel would benefit from A/C as the room was so hot that I woke up every hour even with the fan on the side. Also, make sure you are hungry when ordering food as the portion sizes are very hearty, with side plates that feel like main dishes! Definitely will be staying here again!

I called Elizabeth to discuss a wake for a family funeral and she made the whole process so easy via email. On the day the food was delicious, the hospitality offered by the staff was friendly and welcoming and a very sad occasion turned into a bit of a party. Thanks to all at The White Hart Inn.

My wife & I was celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary,the white Hart cinderford was our choice which I might add did not disappoint,I had the mix grill apple crumble for after, my wife had chicken curry and chocolate fudge cake after,the food was georous a good hearty portion,the staff was polite helpful and welcoming,so my advice to anyone who are looking for great food,my 1st choice would be the white Hart cinderford.5 stars

Scruffy exterior with no obvious way in which just about sums up the hospitality of the place. I was 'greeted' - if one can call it that - by a large man in shorts, saying: "Can I help?" in that tone of voice suggestive of "What do you want!" I could only think: never to see you or this place again...

We stayed for 3 nights. Owners and staff friendly and welcoming! Nothing was too much hassle for them. We stayed with our 4.5 month old baby. Great baby changing facilities. We stayed with family in 5 of the rooms. Very spacious. Food was gorgeous. Tea and coffee facilities in bedrooms. Would recommend and look forward to coming back to visit again.

For the second year running we visited FOD and there's only one place we will stay along as Twiz and Jay are running it (along with help from mum and dad) this place is a jewel on the fringe of the FOD, the rooms are clean and the food well......you'll never go hungry that's for sure, starting with the full English and the portions in the evening would feed a small army, just as well we planned a good few long walks. They welcomed not only us but our 2 dogs as well who seemed a bit depressed as we got the car to come home .....until next time (which is sure to happen) You would be hard pressed to find a better B and B in the area.

From the outside it looks like a pub on a main road but within those walls lies first class accomodation. Modern and fresh interior with rooms that are comfortable and classy. Food is well presented and delicious from a good hearty breakfast through to the evening menu I sampled as a solo eater as my partner was working. On that Friday evening there was a wake gathering but plenty of laughter and celebration and I felt very comfortable. There is also a function room and I can imagine live entertainment here would be a real treat. The team were warm and engaged throughout our stay. The proprietor is very proud of the establishment and it is an excellent example of hospitality surviving through a difficult 2 year period and emerging stronger.

I've never reviewed somewhere whilst still staying there but I'll make an exception. The White Hart has been superb. Our room is lovely, the welcome and service has been top grade and the food was excellent. The whole pub is immaculate. We are here for our wedding anniversary and it's been a great choice. Our stay was a bit comical really. We arrived before 4pm to check out where we were to find a pub that looked as if it had been shut down. All locked up, no opening times and a letter hanging off the main lettering. We did return after 4 and were able to check in. Our room was spacious and cleanish. I only say that as one of the drawers still had someone else's stuff in incl Xmas chocs! The bath was dirty and we found an empty pizza box shoved next to the tea making facilities! The point where we started looking for hidden cameras was when the floor started vibrating!! They had put us above the laundry room...On the plus side the lady in charge was lovely and apologetic. And we enjoyed the food, we had a White Hart combo. Then on retiring to the room to watch TV we discovered that the TV plug had only 2 prongs so obviously wouldn't plug in... The TV was replaced but the cable for the TV stretched along the floor into the next room and wasn't plugged in. We found a place up on the wall where it loosely plugged in. Not safe esp when you have a 4 yr old! Wouldn't stay here again but would recommend for the pub.

Nice bedroom, excellent breakfast

We were disappointed with our stay here after all the glowing reviews. The staff were definitely great - very friendly and helpful but the bar and dining area had absolutely zero atmosphere and the menu limited to burgers and a few grills. The food at dinner was ok but no more than that although the breakfast was good.Our room was large with a good bathroom but the only window was double glazed onto the street and non opening so there was no way to get any air into the room. We also wondered at the lack of fire escape. The wifi was also poor in the room.

What a fantastic weekend we had from the moment we arrived the staff were marvellous. The room was very comfortable. Although Internet was difficult that made no difference to our enjoyment. The owners were ultra friendly and made us so welcome. As for the food wow best we have tasted for ages and fantastic portions Highly recommend this place especially the Sunday lunch beautiful

We have been to the white Hart a couple of times now for a meal. The food is amazing and get so much of it. they do a great vegan option which is great for me. Friendly staff and do all what then can for you. Definitely recommend the white Hart.

Well firstly I would like to thank the gentleman who answered the phone at 3:55 and was very polite saying the lady who does the bookings had gone on the school run,I said I’d ring back at 4.30 I phoned back at 5 to be told that she was stuck in traffic to phone at 6-30 which I did to be told I needed to phone after 8 she was now doing the cooking 8;35 I phoned again to be told she was putting her children to sleep and to book through booking .com I would like to thank you all for wasting my time . We had a family meal out recently mid week in the evening. We were handed menus. Choices were limited but once food arrived it was very good portions and food tasted great.

We arrive around 1pm on a friday and popped in for luch for 3 of us. The bar was reasonibily busy but very friendly. We ordered the three course early bird lunch and were served by very friendy and efficent staff.The menu is pretty much good honest pub grub, with the meals we had being all well presented, lovely tasting and filling (we really should have had only two courses!).Of note was the outstanding prawn cocktail and the mild chicken curry. The vegetarian three cheese and broccoli bake was super creamy and tasty too. As other reviews had stated, the interior of the pub is a little tired and could do with a bit of TLC, but it was clean and tidy. I can imagine the bar would be super cosy when the would burners are going on a cold evening We will definitely return when in the area again.

I stayed overnight as a B&B it was okay but was very surprised to find myself in a room without a window ,It is bar food and the evening meal was plentiful and well cooked and breakfast large enough to last all day .I think a little over priced accommodation but it was clean and comfortable

What a great little place this is, it's not a hotel it's a B and B, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant, the food....well you'll never go hungry! the full English breakfast is huge and the portions in the evening meal are on the generous side to say the least, you're within a stones throw of the forest which makes it an ideal place for those venturing on the many walks in the area. The added bonus is they are very dog friendly, ours have never had so much fuss not to mention the extra sausage at breakfast. Enjoyed the stay so much we booked to go back next year and can't wait.

Great friendly owners and staff, lots of advice given for local walks with our dogs. Nothing was to much trouble, the room was great value considering we were on the doorstep of the Forest of Dean. If you want a boutique hotel experience or 5 star restaurant then go elsewhere and pay double the price. This is clean, friendly, does a great breakfast and evening meals are available. At under £500 a week you would probably be hard pushed to find a B&B these days. Hard working staff, great family and it's dog friendly. Top tip, if you want something that's missing just ask, need to know something just ask. Loved it rebooked for next year .

Booked this randomly to take mountain bikes around forest routes. This cost £120 so was not cheap. This was the worst place I have ever stayed £30 probably would have expected it. Room was tiny was told when shown room we where lucky room was newly decorated dread to think what others were like. Seriously to leave room like that was ridiculous no WiFi toilet not cleaned no towel rails no where to hang clothes door was warped plastering was awe full the list could go on. Shame too the breakfast was totally quantity not quality in the morning the only good thing was the service from owner. Absolutely gutted

We chose the White Hart Inn because they were Dog friendly and had good reviews. We really enjoyed our short stay, the room was really nice with a separate room for the kids. Everyone was really friendly and couldn't do more for us. Food and drink was very reasonably priced. And one of best Full English Breakfasts we've ever had. We will definitely stay again!

Excellent stop over on the outskirt of cinderford , serve a good Guinness . Had a meal at night , which was excellent and reasonable price . The breakfast was also excellent , really sets you up for the day . Would stay again for 1 or 2 nights if we were in the area .

Fabulous hosts, food was lovely, breakfasts amazing, great location, very helpful and friendly people, couldn’t do enough for you, clean comfortable rooms with modern decor, will definitely visit again, we cycled every day, and even found a superb fly fishing beautiful lake to spend our days too.

We stayed here for 1 night over half term in the deluxe family suite. Our 3 kids (7, 5 and 3) loved the room which was basic but clean and plenty of space for 3 children to play. The room was so clean as was the linen and super fluffy towels which all smells super fresh and clean. We were made to feel so welcome by everyone. The kids play area was a fab addition. The views are stunning and it's a great base to explore the area. As a family with young kids who still like a touch of luxury I was apprehensive to stay as the price was so low. But I was wrong to be worried, its just a gem yet to be discovered. Breakfast was included which again I thought would be a standard continental but no a full English breakfast plus a number of other options were freshly cooked to order - all expertly cooked. We stayed for 2 nights. The room was spacious but stuffy as unable to open window. Wifi was not available in room.Breakfast was lovely but left in room all day. Was not told to leave dishes outside room due to covid. Even though on booking.com they said they did.No toiletries in bathroom or tea just coffee.We was not keyworkers and our booking was taken willingly. On booking.com it was made clear that it was only for keyworkers. Very disappointing with the dishonesty of the owners of the property. Donot visit.

After a long walk in the Forest of Dean we stumbled on the perfect place for Sunday lunch. Both meals were excellent quality, promptly served and piping hot. They are really on top of the covid regulations so you can be confident on that score.The staff are helpful and courteous - nothing was too much trouble.Many thanks for looking after us so well.

We stayed in the White Hart Inn for one night and we really enjoyed it. The Hosts were welcoming and friendly our room was finished to a good standard the bed was comfortable. We had an evening meal and breakfast the food was delicious. Good bar and the terrace outside was fantastic with gorgeous views . We will be back hoping next time entertainment will be back on

We stayed as a family of 4 in the 2 bedroom family room with ensuite (bath with shower over) for 5 nights.The outstanding thing about this pub is how friendly, helpful and lovely the staff here are. Nothing is too much trouble. The pub has had a lot of renovation work done and the main bar and restaurant looks lovely. The owners are working on other areas to continue to improve it.Our bedroom was perfect for our family and was extremely good value at 90 per night which included 4 great full English breakfasts. We didn't mind not having hanging space as we had mainly walking clothes with us. There is a big mirror and lots of plugs which are missing in a lot of hotel bedrooms.The pub is ideally situated for exploring the forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Cinderford itself is a little tired in places, but we enjoyed a night at the old cinema and an Indian at the Curry Leaf.Good luck Twizzy, family and staff. Thankyou for looking after us so well.

The room was pleasant, clean and well kept. Recently refurbished. We had a couple of drinks with a sit down meal in the evening, the staff were welcoming and friendly.
