Sunday lunch, at the Seven Stars, Timsbury, was welcomed today after our busy morning of Sunday football! The service was wonderful, nothing can beat the warmth of the cheerful waitress and landlady who made everything feel comfortable and perfect, probably because of the attention to detail, friendliness and punctuality. Most importantly the food was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection to meet our preferences. Would highly recommend a visit here to this delightful village pub, perfect for locals and welcoming to all. Perfectly pleasant and not pretentious. My ideal. Thanks Helen for making a home from home atmosphere, truly appreciated 😊

I'm told that the Sunday lunch is great. The food we were given on Friday was awful - the only reason I didn't complain was that it would have spoiled the night with friends. "fish & chips" lord alone knows what the fish was supposed to be - two bits of stale batter stained with something grey. The chips were probably recycled for the chip shop's lunchtime bin. Dreadful.

Had a lovely visit in June to the Seven Stars to coincide with a weekend of watching Glastonbury in the garden with my pals, and popped in here once or twice. Had a fantastic craic with the locals, and have been a few times now so getting to know their Somerset cheek, made friends with some American tourists, they had "Karaoke Kaye" on one night and other nights other themed events & the place can rock one minute, then just have a fun quiz another night! I saw a new pool table area that was fun and lost badly at a game of pool, (not that I was stroppy, I mean I lost badly at pool!) and food, although i didn't have any, got my nostrils twitching whenever it came out the kitchen so I consoled myself with more cider, from a great range of beers, wines and spirits and some great drink deals too! It's my most favourite pub in Timsbury!

Popped here for a drink on a Sunday lunchtime. It was packed! Beautiful proper British country pub with a large number of fans. From walkers popping in for a drink to families having Sunday lunch, the whole place was heaving. BOOK A TABLE IF YOU WANT FOOD!! Plenty of car parking, lovely location, nice walks and lovely staff. Didn't eat so can't comment on food (but will be returning) but the pub welcomes pets too so hugely popular. One downside: very loud live music on Sunday lunchtime (?) which might make conversation a challenge and bother people with sensitive ears. My nan would have struggled to put up with the sound level. Apart from that, definitely worth frequenting.

New owners as of 2023 have managed to absolutely nail the food offerings. The Sunday roasts come with a choice of small, medium and large, which is a great idea as not everyone always wants a massive meal. But it’s all great! Big yorkshire puds, gravy boats if you ask, perfectly cooked meat and veg, all washed down with a quality bitter! As of 2023 getting a solid and well deserved reputation for a music pub. You are doing a great job for Timsbury guys, keep it up! Also welcomes outdoorsy types, for example people riding bikes, dog walkers, walkers and even horses.(awesome!) A massive asset to Timsbury! When we pointed this out we were told the garlic was in the bread mix and that they had no garlic butter. It was dry and didn't taste of garlic at all. We we weren't even offered any butter to go with the toast. For desert we ordered a cherry and coconut sundae. Only problem was that the ice cream was vanilla!

Let's be honest: this is a drinkers pub. DON'T go there for a meal. We went on the basis of having been before & had a lovely meal: oh how things have changed! We were greeted as if nothing was amiss; it turned out there was no chef ( the young man behind the bar was stepping in as fast as we could tell), a significant part of the menu (if you can call it that) wasn't available e.g. steak, desserts. And what did get served was mostly microwaved with items missing e.g. Yorkshire pudding, garden peas. When we admitted defeat we just asked if we could have a coffee: "Oh, we haven't got a coffee machine, sorry" was the response. Ever heard of a kettle & Nescafe? To be fair they discounted the Bill - but that in no way makes up for what was simply awful.

Had the pleasure of enjoying a Sunday roast at the Seven Stars in Timsbury. Roast's can sometimes be a bit hit or miss when dining out in a pub, but this experience was a giant HIT! What a stunning dinner, a very plentiful portion with lots of variety and everything on the plate was cooked to perfection. Four of us dined, all having roasts. This pub is fantastic from the things it’s been through recently, amazing beer garden, attentive and lovely staff. Amazing pub grub, all for a really affordable price. Amazing deals on the drinks. Bar staff have a good knowledge of beers and wines. All great sense of humour. Locals are some of the most pleasant and respectful people I’ve met. Landlord and his wife and incredibly inviting and have gone out their way for me many a times. You couldn’t ask for a better little town pub. As for the BnB rooms which are worth every penny, for a get away to countryside of Somerset, with Priston round the corner and many more walks close by. Often eventful with evening events such as open mic night, meat draw (raffle tickets to win meat!), karaoke, quiz night and live music when available.

I don't often leave a bad review, but feel that I have to be honest.... As we arrived we were notified that there were "no steaks, no fish, no mushrooms and 1 or of the 4 pizzas was unavailable". So, with a limited menu we ordered 6 meals, 2 of them cheese and bacon burgers and our veggie ordered the halloumi fish and chips. One of the burger meals had crispy burgers! Crispy, what's that about? Isn't a burger supposed to be juicy? But what was worse was the veggie meal having a chicken nugget served amongst the sweet potato fries, suggesting that both are cooked in the same oil. Now that's a big NO, NO! I think it's fair to say that our first visit to the Seven Stars in Timsbury will also be our last. You've missed a trick guys, with there being no pubs serving food in Paulton, you should have a captive audience in our area. Here's hoping that things improve.

Worst meal out in a long time. Both are burger were burnt, bun was dry, complete rubbish. Daughter had a piece of chicken on her plate(vegetarian meal!). I was asked “ how was it” at the end, so I gave a polite but critical feedback and was told I was “entitled to my opinion” with no effort to make amends. Assume there main clientele are people from Timsbury who cannot drive, or afford a taxi to go elsewhere. Very disappointed.

So the meals..the men had the Stilton and garlic mushrooms that had the smallest pieces of ciabatta I’ve ever seen.. Our mains..I had the steak which said with skin on chips..they were frozen skinny fries and I was really not impressed. Plus didn’t realise till I’d finished they hadn’t given us our onion rings! 2 people ordered chips as sides which never made it to the table. We decided on desserts but was told when went to order them that the kitchen shut at 9!! We were very disappointed..maybe we could’ve been told that? It was only about 9.20pm..I’ve never known a restaurant that doesn’t serve food wether savoury or desserts past 9pm. We probably won’t return because of that fact.

The kitchen area could have had more cutlery glasses for use and also hot running water to wash up, the kitchen area wasn't the cleanest also. The continental breakfast wasn't, toast and cereal doesn't constitute being continental, half a carton of orange juice for 4 guests is not adequate. There was also no coffee,no croissants or anything continental. The music /karaoke noise from the pub was so loud that we had to have to TV up really loud to hear it, the staff could have warned us that there was a function on and that there. Would be very loud music past midnight. We had booked a table in the restaurant prior to arrival, only to arrive and find out they had no chef and were not serving food... they should have informed us beforehand not on arrival. Checking out there was no one to be seen ,just put the room keys through the letter box, no communication to find out about the our stay, if there had been a problem, throughout the stay we wouldn't have known where to go or what to do after the pub had shut.

Overall nice place with helpful, friendly staff. The pub is lovely and I bet the fireplace is cosy in the winter months. We stayed for a couple of nights at the weekend. The room was clean, well maintained and comfortable, and the shared kitchen is also well stocked. It could have done with more crockery, breakfast provided was simple but nice. Everything you need for a simple stay. The only thing wrong with our stay was the noise from the kitchen (thin walls) and from the pub itself at night, much later than midnight. I recongise that it was a weekend, but we were woken up throughout the night then a smoke alarm went off at 5am (from people smoking inside?) I would still recommend the place, but staff should be aware that if they're gonna do a lock-in they should keep it down.

Het is inclusief "make your own breakfast".

Was the best Sunday Roast in Timsbury!!! And beyond...for a while. May have been a good while it lasted marketing ploy?

Stayed here for one night on 28th May 2020. Lovely pub with friendly bar staff. We had lunch at the pub before going into Bath and on our return later that evening there was a live band playing who were very good. We both had the ham and chicken pie for lunch which was delicious and is highly recommended. We stayed in room 1 which was very clean and has everything you needed for a comfortable night's sleep. There are 2 rooms upstairs in an adjacent building accessible via a separate lockable entrance. Parking is at the rear of the building. Breakfast was included and is provided in a shared kitchen area. Again this was very well presented. The choice of breakfast was excellent with cereals, croissants, toast, fruit, orange juice and tea and coffee etc. Overall we had a great stay at a lovely friendly pub in a nice village and would definitely recommend the place and hope to return again very soon.

I hadn't been to this pub in a while but I was aware that it had changed hands within the last year so thought I would try it. I got there at about 5.45pm on a Friday afternoon and the bar was just beginning to fill up. A member of staff told me that because of a broken dishwasher I could only have one pint glass for my beer and any subsequent ones would be in plastic beakers. Faintly ludicrous but I thought I would just ask for my glass to be refilled for subsequent drinks. I ordered a pint of bitter and a medium glass of white Pinot Grigio and was charged £9.10. My wife ordered food for us, gammon, egg and chips for me, street food Cambodian curry with an extra £2 addition of chicken for her. We had to wait about half an hour for our food to arrive and during that time I went to get more drinks. The staff wouldn't refill my glass citing 'Health & Safety' and they wouldn't wash it out so I and several other customers had to stand at the bar attempting to pour beer from flimsy plastic beakers into our glasses. I also ordered a further glass of wine and this time was asked for £9.75. When I queried this I was told I must have been undercharged on the previous occasion. Seeing as the staff use a touchscreen to place orders I don't know how that can be. Our food eventually arrived and after a couple of mouthfuls my wife said her curry was only lukewarm and had no chicken in it. She returned it and to be fair a staff member came to our table, apologised and said she would get a refund for her in addition to providing another meal. She went away but never returned with a refund. After another 30 minutes wait my wife's meal finally arrived, this time hot and with chicken. During our wait we were entertained by three young men at an adjacent table competing with each other to see who could loudly drop the most F-bombs during a conversation. Having finally finished with the food we decided it was time to leave and I stopped at the bar and asked the staff member for my refund. She walked over to the landlord who was in the process of conducting a meat raffle, had a brief conversation with him, returned and said if I waited two minutes he would give me the refund. Fifteen minutes later I was still waiting and bored so we decided to leave without it. It's a shame really as the Seven Stars should be a good pub but it misses being so. There are other, better pubs in the area and in future that's where I'll be taking my business.

Really great rack of ribs (corn and chips was spot on also). Parents had burgers and said they were great. Even the little ones chicken nuggets were tasty, and you don't usually expect much from them. Really nice beer garden outside, with a quality tent. Great selection of beers and pretty solid selection of liquor. Sadly not much Scotch. Pleasant atmosphere and would definitely visit again.

Everything was great but not cheap :) On the menu it says portions are big but in reality they are not

A good option out from the main town, food was decent. Friendly staff, but let down by very limited beer selection and a beer that tastes like the pipes need a clean.

We spent a lovely evening with friends by a cosy fire on 'Pie Evening' (and the pies were to die for!). We'll definitely be back

We have meant to try here for yonks so it was lovely to finally visit and enjoy such a lovely meal. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The menu had many fabulous sounding offerings, it was hard to chooses. We shall definitely be revisiting very soon! Highly recommended.
