Everything was great but not cheap :) On the menu it says portions are big but in reality they are not

Nice tasting food but tiny portions and very expensive. £24 minimum for a pub dinner meal that’s the size of a big starter is mad. 2 main courses 1 chips 1 soft drink 1 half of beer £67 Crazy

Mothers day Sunday lunch. Great menu, relaxed atmosphere. Tiny bit cramped, but we didn't mind. Garden looked lovely.

Mid-afternoon quiet and peaceful. Very pleasant.

Great location for a meal. I rated the slow roast belly pork very highly with great roast spuds and veg. The golden syrup tart wasn't quite as good but needed a little attention but was tasty enough. Service was great.

Pleasant interior and attractive menu. I had the leek and blue cheese soup, which was a bit lacking. Only a very mild hint of blue cheese. "Fish and chips" was pollock or similar, decent size, good twice cooked chips, but not a pea or bit of garnish to be seen. I asked for something to accompany, but the kitchen had, apparently, just closed. Didn't ask if I wanted ketchup, so had to go hunting to find someone to ask. He had a chickpea and lentil concoction which pleased him greatly. The two girls serving were very pleasant and polite but rushed off their feet. The food took a long time to come. It needs another server. I would return and try some of the more sophisticated menu items, but not if I'm in a hurry.

A perfect easy going place. Loved the menu, great food, and a good selection of drink. I would say expensive, but I forgot its England for a second.

Great local pub serving really good food.

We were a large group of ladies out for the day, i had the Christmas turkey it was the best Christmas meal i had ever had in a pub, the roast potatoes were perfect as was the red cabbage, its unusual.to find this done well.in a pub, perfect brussels and pancetta not soggy, meat was great, i had a great starter as well

A good solid four star place. Slightly off the tourist beaten track which is a real advantage in Bath but close to the station, this is a classic pub, wooden tables in the traditional style and, from what I could observe, very good for larger groups, dogs and toddlers so points all round. The service was very good, attentive and friendly and sensitive to our needs. The food was a little pricey for what we got (£200 for four for a main and pudding and drinks) and the steak and chips could have benefited from a small salad or at least some more garnish. Puddings very good.

The food was wonderful as always - HUGE portions, there were even roast potatoes left over which is a huge rarity! The staff were lovely and very accommodating- there'd been a mix up about the high chair we'd booked but it was sorted out quickly. A fantastic family meal

I was rather disappointed. When I ordered the goats cheese gnocchi with pickled cherry tomatoes I was presented with a plate containing a large amount of salad with three meagre pieces of gnocchi and 2 halved cherry tomatoes?! The food was ok, but not amazing. Personally I do not recommend and would not go again. However service was rather quick and very polite.

If lemon posset is on the menu when you go, order it! The lemon sharp silky creaminess was adored by all. This is a charming pub with super good service and an excellent kitchen.

One of the best places to eat in Bath and definitely worth the short walk from the city centre. Amazing food, great atmosphere and the friendliest staff you will find.

Didn’t eat food from here I was just out filming as an extra for a film in the garden and it was a beautiful garden to be able to it outside in when it was warm, would recommend !

Visited for an evening meal. I thought the food was expensive for what it was, rocket leaves, a few bits of goats cheese and a sliver of palma ham. The draught beers were £6 a pint. I asked for a half and they brought me a pint. I asked them to change it which they did but when I got back to my hotel I noticed they had charged me for the pint and a 10% service charge!!!!! Wont be going back :-(

Great food in a beautiful pub garden. Wonderful staff. A gem in fashionable Witcombe only a few mins walk from the town center. Chef is young and extremely talented.

Almost always busy, great atmosphere and the staff are lovely. They serve a great pint of Guinness Clear as well. Today, in the midst of heavy showers we were able to snatch hand an hour to grab a drink, harissa hummus and halloumi fries in the lovely little sun-trap that is their garden.

Food really excellent. Service worst I've had in some time. The lad serving basically forgot about us. I had to go to the bar and order food and drink twice. Meanwhile the attractive single girl 2 tables away who arrived after us was waited on instantly and had finished 2 drinks and meal before we got our food. Last time we came, it was fine so probably a one-off.

A great resto-pub in the heart of Bath

Nice little pub especially in the summer sitting in the courtyard garden. Food is good but service was a bit flakey, we ate early in an unplanned stop and as the pub filled we were forgottenat the back whilst the concentrated on new arrivals. Beers are OK but not a huge selection, could definitely do with some guest beers. With a slight improvement to service and a few extra beers this could be one of the best pubs in Bath.

Called in on a Friday evening hoping to join some friends who were at a table in the garden area, upon entering the garden we were confronted by a member of the waiting on staff who very abruptly barked at us if we were eating or not. We explained we were joining some friends to which the reply was "well if they're not here, good luck finding a table" . For a 30 second conversation the waitress was incredibly hostile and unwelcoming. Needless to say we found said friends and left for one of the many other pubs in the local area. Truly terrible, snobby service.

A lovely evening out in their beautiful garden. We were served by Kofi and his colleagues who could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Throughly recommended.

This was one of the best restaurants my wife and i have ever been to. Food was truly memorable - a rare example of food that is outstanding and clearly British, rather than deriving from some other cuisine. Portions were generous, price reasonable. Tables are a bit crowded together and service, though friendly and prompt for us, did feel a bit rushed. Clearly some reviewers on this site have somehow gotten left out and neglected by the system. I guess if that happens, the best advice is to push them. It should be worth it.

I just paid £6.00 for a pint of Guinness. Never again, in spite of the nice back garden.

I’ve been going to the White Hart for a couple of years now and honestly, the food is a small miracle. It is restaurant-level quality, absolutely sensational.Everything is done with just that little bit extra care and attention. The range of the menu is excellent. I have never had anything less than an amazing meal there and yesterday was no exception. Venison burger and ginger cheesecake - the fries were exquisite, the rhubarb compote with the cheesecake was perfect - i just love it there. And the atmosphere is so lovely, especially sitting in the garden.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here! Excellent value for money. Sadly, we were too full to have puddings. The staff were wonderful too. We highly recommend it.

Prices have gone up & portions reduced! A starter of monkfish (3 tiny pieces on a wooden skewer) & some rocket with dressing is now £11. Fries helped to fill us a little! Pesto, though, is still good. Afraid to say we still felt hungry after our lunch after having paid our bill of £70+ (including wine)

The food was excellent. The decor and atmosphere was great too. One of the ladies working there was either having a bad day or doesn't like working in the service industry, because while she pretend to be helpful and polite, you could sense her disdain and resentfulness having to answer our questions.

Beautiful pub but ridiculously priced food. A few real ales are usually on but the secret gem of this place is the scrumpy cider on draft.

There are lots of restaurants in Bath, but the White Hart is the only one that is consistently good and does not seem to have jacked up its prices to new dizzying heights! We've been for Sunday lunch and dinner recently and I can not fault the food and service, and I have high standards! The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed.

Nice service and very efficient, despite the size of our large group . The food is really very , very good . I had the best veal chop I have ever had and everyone commented on how good their various dishes were . Not std "pub grub" by any means !

Amazing vegetarian food and great service

I booked a table for myself and my partner for a midweek treat. They had no record of my booking even though I had an email confirmation. Nevertheless, this wasn’t a problem and we were seated right away. The food was good, but nothing overly special. The prices of the dishes were very overpriced for what you got, plus an added service charge. The service was basic, our waitress didn’t ask us if we wanted any sauce with our mains and didn’t ask us if everything was OK with our meals. We ended up going to the bar to pay for our bill as they took too long to come to the table! Definitely not worth an added service charge. There are better places to eat in Bath!

Visited for lunch on a Sunday and we were lucky to grab the last non booked table. A popular pub and a delightful courtyard garden. Service was great (with an optional 10% gratuity on but not included in the bill) three courses 32.50 two courses 27.00 Drinks were reasonably priced and water offered immediately upon arrival and seating. A busy Sunday but staff were attentive and remembered when to bring napkins if required. Overall the food was good, pudding well, the panacota was amazing. Not too pretentious, just good food and service.

Came here in a group of 8 and had a great time. The food was delicious with good vegetarian options. Would definitely recommend the pesto and bread as a nibble to start. Great service and nice staff.

Been here quite few times over the years when visiting the area, the food is always very good, and staff friendly and professional. The garden is a really lovely spot. Prices are above average pub prices, but so is the food and overall experience, food is cooked from scratch using fresh and good quality ingredients. Good selection of beers and choices on the wine list. Can get a little noisy inside when busy and advisable to book at weekends/ busy times.

Glad to explore this neighborhood and this charming pub. Sat outside on a Saturday at noon - the courtyard is charming and shaded, space for approx 20. Starters were generous portions and I made a meal out of the bread/ olives combo and gazpacho. The gazpacho was truly excellent, cold and refreshing. Bread was served warm and the olives were in a fab spiced marinade. Truly lovely lunch, and kind staff.

was in Bath for a week and working not far from the WHI, so it was handy for end of days drinks. Sat out in garden and enjoyed great atmosphere, great drinks and convivial company. So yes its a nice place with great beer garden but you know this place is so welcoming because of its staff- they're really friendly, efficient and professional. Helped me carry some drinks out when I asked for a tray and no problem to set up a tab to be settled later on the way out. if your in the area, drop in, you won't be disappointed! Looking forward to my next trip already...

The White Hart hosted our wedding reception, including a drinks reception and canapés in Parade Gardens followed by a 3 course meal and dancing at the pub. I really can’t find any fault with the whole White Hart team. Throughout the planning Jo was so helpful and accommodating. The actual day went off without a hitch. The food was incredible and a number of people commented on how delicious and well presented it all was. Jo made sure our wedding had the relaxed feel we hoped for but I also felt assured that she was always there to resolve any problems throughout the day and evening. I can’t recommend this gem of a pub highly enough - if you are looking for relaxed vibes and incredible food all in spitting distance of Bath city centre then this is the place to come!

I booked this pub for my wheelchair using auntie and myself for lunch. I ensured that the table we were booking was completely accessible and there was use of an accessible toilet. On arrival I went in up the front step to enquire how the access work for wheelchairs and was told rudely “they come in through the door” I asked about a ramp to get up the step and they said they didn’t have one, can’t we just lift her. This is out of the question as anyone with any decency or common sense would know. I’ll be ensuring this matter is felt with to avoid embarrassment and disappointment for anyone else.

First time we visited this pub which was v friendly and served excellent food & drinks

Wir hatten ein tolles Mittagessen im The White Hart! Die Terrasse ist super schön, es gibt genug Sonnenschirme, die Schatten spenden und die Bepflanzung ringsum ist schön gepflegt. Das Essen war super und hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt! Die Preise sind wohl auch für englische Verhältnisse etwas gehoben, aber es ist alles im Rahmen und wenn alles stimmt, zahlt man ja gerne auch etwas mehr :)

We were blown away by the cuisine at this pub this evening. We were a bit worried as it wasn't "pub prices" but now we understand why. So delicious and the best meals we have had in s long time. Being our first nights in Bath it will be hard to beat.

Just outside the centre of Bath. Offers a more traditional village pub experience. The courtyard is lovely and the inside cosy. The beer was superbly kept.

We visited The White Hart with family and friends and made use of their small function room. I cannot commend the staff enough we were looked after with extreme thought and care, as a bonus all the food and drink was five star plus.

Sunday roast was nothing special. The beef tasted strange, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt, served with one parsnip cut into two halves plus cooked kale leaves and a bit of mushy broccoli. This was supposed to be 'seasonal vegetables'! Besides, we were served a jug...

Lovely gastropub. Food tasty and well-presented. More veggie options please. I didn't like the sound of the main dish option so had to have a starter as a main. Pesto and other tapas were delicious. Quite pricey but portions were large.

The food is really unusual and absolutely delicious. Plenty of wines to choose from too. Service is fine if slightly eccentric. Prices are on the high side for pub food, but the quality definitely justifies what you pay.

We have been a couple of times in the last month and every time really enjoyed our visit. The food is great, the menu seems to change regularly, the service attentive and we love eating in the garden. One of Bath's hidden gems.

These country bumpkins didn't know what a VAT receipt was... We got there for opening and there were breadcrumbs and other food bits on the table. A billion minutes between asking for the food menu, it arriving, and someone taking our order... Yahoos everywhere in this town.

Has incredible, seasonal food. I had the duck which was cooked perfectly and came with some classic pub chips. Stunning seating areas, both indoor and outdoor. I would recommend sitting outdoors due to their lovely garden.

Great place for good food and decent beer. The menu is more gastro-pub than normal 'pub grub' and very good value and taste. Decor is decent. We sat outside, and the tables and chairs were good quality, and socially distanced.

Day one Nordic walking the Cotswolds Way was a bit of a shock when you live in a flattish county. Arriving at The White Hart to a friendly welcome , a pint and cheesy chips was lovely. Our room was spacious, clean and airy and after freshening up came down to a very tasty meal. A comfortable night and very nice breakfast. Many thanks Kevin and Sara.

Went for a bottle of wine £28.00. No problem till the bill came for £30.80p, 10% service charge for putting a bottle of wone and two glasses on the table. You decide!!!!
