Very run down. Needs a significant amount of TLC and a really good clean. The food was strange/very average. Jacket potato with cold Brie cheese on top. No attempt to heat and even slightly melt. We Left feeling disappointed. 😞

Visited Bath for the day on a very busy Saturday. After doing river boat trip we were hungry and found this delightful little pub.( smallest pub in bath). Spoke to waiter who said there were tables upstairs. We were so lucky. Ordered scampi and chips in a basket and they were the best I had ever had and for less than £10. My friend ordered ham egg and chips and it would have fed an army. Would highly recommend and will certainly go again to a much loved city.

This pub proudly advertises as 'Bath's Smallest Pub's and it is indeed quite small. However it has all the necessary requirements for a great pub. The beer is excellent and the seating both inside and out is very comfortable. Sitting outside allows you to watch the world go by with a great drink in hand. Didn't try the food but it is available and that is for next time.

A typical English pub. If you are a fan of the genre you will find it enjoyable. The place is small but beautiful. There aren't many tables, we ate upstairs. Generous portions and traditional English cuisine which, honestly, is what I was looking for in Bath.

Had lunch on Sunday - beef was TERRIBLE - fatty and chewy. (A good work-out for the arms trying to cut.) The veg was ok and drinks good. My son enjoyed his scampi and chips. The lady serving must of been having a bad day - I wont judge, she may have had some terrible news that morning. Some of the money was refunded, however a meal to forget.

Lovely little pub in the center of Bath - Abbey Ales spot so you can count on great cask (Bellringer is always a hit) and good food. Tight spot for seating - there is an upstairs and you can sit in the alley if it's warm out but don't expect to fit a large group in here necessarily. Cheers!

Really great pub in the city centre, cozy and old style. I came here in a Sunday for Sunday roast, had chicken and paid £16 (really good price) mulled wine £6). The meat was very good and the service as well. They were brilliantly able to accommodate allergy requirements of my friend who is celiac.

On our first trip to the UK we stopped in to the Coeur De Lion Pub for cider and lunch. Atmosphere is very local, and very friendly. Staff was wonderfully kind to us, very friendly, and since we ate outside brought our meal out to us as well. I hadn't tried Steak and Ale pie before, but for the next week after eating here I was chasing the same meal that I had here at the Coeur De Lion, Steak and Ale pie with garden peas. All in all between London, Bath and Brighton, I had 4 Steak and Ale pies over 10 days, and the variety offered here was simply the best. The Coeur de Lion seems to be a locals pub, if there is such a thing in Bath. Sequestered down an alley and out of the way, you'd have to either be lost, or looking for it, in order to find it. It is worth the trip, and next time we are in Bath we will visit again.

Definitely a local pub. We had a nice table outside since the inside space was tight. Ordered and paid inside, took our own drinks outside, and waited for the food. It was delivered after a while. I had the pie and mash, which was good, but the onion gravy was from a mix. The pie was hand-made, and the potatoes were fresh. A good experience just to be in such an authentic pub.

Despite being a very picturesque and traditional place, the food leaves a lot to be desired. Following the waiter's recommendations, I ordered the famous Fish & chips. We are faced with a dish based on ultra frozen foods. The dish is expensive (£15.95) and extremely poor. There is nothing special about potatoes and peas in their taste or appearance. The fish is quite good, but it is small in quantity. I don't like to use sachet sauces, but in this case it was necessary. On the other hand, the atmosphere is very pleasant and the staff is friendly. In short, it is an expensive place with no quality food. For a pint it's fine. No more.

Unfortunately the lady behind the bar was utterly miserable and unwelcoming. First point of contact is very important in this industry and failed miserably! She appears to be ok with local drinkers but for the tourist trade best to keep away! Our previous visit in March we were welcomed by a young, friendly, chatty young lady . Staff training may be helpful. Do they still do “Welcome Host “ training! Very disappointed.

We’ve had occasion over the past week to visit this delightful gastropub twice (due to our kitchen renovation). Having not been before we were unsure what to expect overall. On both occasions we were greeted by delightful staff and given a nice table near the bar (now our go to table!). The food was extremely good with consistent quality and the wine was very well priced which is unusual in Bath. This lovely place is now our favourite in Bath and we are left wondering why we haven’t visited before!!!
