I cannot believe a pub can have no white wine. I live locally and have been coming to the Red Lion for years and enjoy Tuesday night quiz. Tonight I booked a table to eat and stay on for the quiz, when we were asked for our drink order we were told that they had no white wine and as a real ale pub only limited choice of beer. When the food arrived we were disappointed at the size of two of the meals and the quality of the Caesar salad which was not as described in the menu. We did not complain due to there only one member of staff serving the food for the whole of the pub and it was not her fault. We paid the bill and left not staying for the quiz which was the main reason for visiting the pub. We will not be doing this again the pub has gone down hill since the change of management. The problems are nothing to do with the staff but are to do with bad management.

Pub is lovely inside, really buzzy vibe. Food was mediocre at best. Very fatty pulled pork (which we mentioned but the waitress suggested thst it was a common comment), undercooked corn fritters, over cooked fish and the clotted cream had turned. When the bill came there was no mention of a tip, however when the waitress brought over the card machine to pay, she added on a 12% tip without showing us the screen. I didn't realise until I returned home. Very disappointed 😞

I was really debating between four and five stars on this one though in the end I chose the latter. The reason is that in my opinion food is the most impactful on a review. Though over all the staff was lovely and had a nicely themed environment. The lady who served me was extremely friendly and polite. For example we were all planning on getting a crab sandwich with I side of chips but she informed us that the crab sandwich would already have a small portion of chips instead of just letting us buy extra which of course would result in a higher cost. Overall very nice place definitely would come again.

We went to have a meal for my son’s birthday. The pub was semi clean and busy! The food arrived very fast after ordering it! And after we started eating it you can see why it was so fast? We all had mixed grills apart from one, but the food was clearly pre cooked and held in a hot plate! Peas were looked like they was cooked in the morning! The chips were very over cooked and dry. The sausage was also dry and hard and also seemed like it was from breakfast time! The chicken! Clearly was cooked and held a long time before serving as it was falling apart and a brown/gray colour. Gammon was chewy, and the pineapple ring felt like it was straight out of the tin and touched the grill and then served. The steak was supposed to be medium? But was well done. The only thing that we could say positive was the 2 little onion rings and the egg Wer cooked to order! Again everything else was CLEARLY PRE COOKED and VERY DISAPPOINTING. Very POOR and SHODDY EFFORT. Sorry to say! But we wished we’d have slummed it and gone to WEATHER SPOONS? VERY POOR SHOW..

As we are staying on Bosinver Farm with family, I booked Polgooth Inn after I read the reviews, and it didn't disappoint. All staff are a credit to the management, as nothing was too much trouble, there were 5 of us, 1 toddler, 1 in a wheelchair and 2 dogs, the food and service were Excellent, so much so, I have just booked for us to have breakfast in a few days, which we are looking forward to.

We were made to feel really welcome by all of the team at the Bee. Henry was our main server and was chatty and friendly. We had Sunday lunch of beef, pork and turkey, all of which were fresh and perfectly cooked. It has been many years since we visited due to a bad experience however we would be more than happy to return more frequently in the future.

As organiser for a group of 12 over Easter weekend, I thought I had everything in place with prior reservations for each evening's meal. But just 2 hours before a confirmed reservation at a nearby large pub over 3 floors, they cancelled me by email as they 'can't allow dogs' despite this having been a prominent requirement in my booking there over 5 weeks earlier! Thank goodness for the superbly efficient front-of-house lady (sorry for not having taking your name, but you know who you are!) who recognised my distress and fitted us in, seated together, at short notice, where we all enjoyed an excellent meal. Thank you, and "phew"!
