We were well looked after by Elle, nothing was too much trouble. Great knowledge of our wine options, and good advice on the food, all round excellent service with a lovely lunch with friends before we headed to the theatre.

We’ve been many times before and it’s been really dog friendly. We’ve always brought a blanket for her to sit on one of the bench seats before and it’s been fine. Tonight they said no to that and after we’d finished dinner and our small dog was on a lap they tried to say no to that either. We, of course, wouldn’t put her on their furniture but my own legs are my own choice. The food and wine were good as they always are - steak and ale pie tonight - delicious. Sadly service did taint an otherwise good meal. Didn’t have desert and coffee as a result.

Had a lovely roast dinner, service was excellent. Could I suggest you do a doggy dinner as my dog felt a bit left out.

We'd booked, which I'd recommend as it was busy but even so the staff were attentive and friendly. I had the burger, which sounded awesome and was. And a guest beer which was really nice. The views were something else.

Went here for a birthday meal. Service was prompt and they made good accomodations for birthday cakes etc. Coral our server was good.

Went around a year ago and loved it, but went this month and found the food more way more expensive and not nearly as good as it used to be.

Had a great time, Lovely service, food was amazing apart from the roast potatoes. Very hard to cut into, especially with a butter knife. The inside had an unsual consistency. Apart from that it was lovely, will be coming back.

Booked table indoors for 3. When we got there we asked if we could sit outside instead. Which was no problem. Then it was getting quite cold and windy. So we asked if we could go back indoors. Which was also no problem. We enjoyed a fabulous meal. My husband had the crab linguine. I had fish and chips and Dad had Aberdeen Angus burger. We also enjoyed the waffles and cheesecake and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert 🍰. What a lovely time we had celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary. Thanks to all the Staff at The Waterfront, Plymouth. We will definitely be back!👍😊

A busy Sunday but a lovely Sunday lunch, attended by Coral who was attentive but unobtrusive. Would recommend you book.

The service was very good, I could not fault the staff. The layout and ambience of the pub is very good with some good tables with sea views which we were lucky to get thanks to the staff. Two people enjoyed the Spanish chicken which on the whole they said they enjoyed, though one persons chicken was reported as being very dry and they were not sure where the cheese was within it. One person enjoyed the tribute pie and mash but the carrots served on the dish were very lacking in quanity and no other vegetables were included aside from a shallot. I would expect at least two vegetables to be served with my main of pie. I had the angus beef burger which didn’t come anywhere near to meeting my standards for an £18 burger with fries. It was pretty boring, pretty dry and lacking any real punch The fries looked and tasted as if they had been cooked three times over. I was very disappointed with my meal choice, especially for the price. We shared two desserts between us which were really very good. Not cheap at £8 & £9 but they were very good. One was the clotted cream and strawberry cheesecake and the other was the Belgian waffle with caramelised banana. Not a cheap menu, and for that reason I would have expected more from the mains. The mains were all presented nicely though. Except for the burger.

Today we called on at the Waterfront in Plymouth, really hoping they would have a table for two available for Sunday lunch. We were in luck! We were served by an absolutely delightful waitress called Milly. She gave us really helpful advice about our choices for Sunday lunch and desserts. She was so professional yet friendly and really enhanced our dining experience. Our desserts were wonderful! My husband had the sticky toffee pudding and I had the Belgian waffle. Both tasted delicious and mine was presented beautifully including edible flowers which was so pretty. We will definitely visit here again. Thanks again Milly! It was lovely to meet you. 🌸

We had a lovely visit to The Waterfront. Our waitress Mia made our visit all the better. She was new but she looked after us throughout our stay. The view and setting is pretty much as good as it gets. In terms of food for our group, some dishes were excellent, others were distinctly average. Recommend the Crab and Chilli Linguini and highly recommend the Seafood platter. The steaks were not the best but the place is otherwise so good just maybe order something other than that and you’ll have a great time. Really good kids menu with everything from sausage and mash to burgers, pizzas, and pasta so you are sure to find something for the kids. I’m sure we will visit again.

Our waitress, Elle was very quick in taking our order and efficient with delivery! The fish and chips was stunning! It was breathtaking to sit outside and see the boats coming and going! Absolutely loved the wee minted peas :)

Very warm welcome, very nice location. I had dinner there Sunday evening. They should hire a chef for Sundays. The map is not at all up to par with the rest.

I visited on Wednesday 14 August with my partner, my parents and 2 friends. Millie was our waitress, she was excellent. Very polite, efficient and gave excellent customer service. She is a credit to the team, it was a delight to be served by her.

Great place for a drink and light lunch

We had a lovely evening here for a family meal with our children. Atmosphere was lovely, we enjoyed the live music during our visit although we know this isn’t on all the time. Millie was excellent and looked after everything we needed and was really kind to our children. My children would highly recommend the make your own sundae from the kids menu it’s fab I was jealous as an adult!

Elle was fantastic, would come back again for sure!

Spectacular restaurant by the sea, with spectacular views of the lighthouse and the port. The fish & chips are delicious accompanied by a San Miguel beer. 100% recommended.

We ate at the Waterfront on a Saturday evening before catching the ferry & after a very long journey from Birmingham, it was fantastic.. all the staff were super friendly & helpful, especially our waitress Milly who went above & beyond to make sure we were all well looked after, including our 2 young children. It was a brilliant start to our holiday! Thank you all ♥️

We didn't manage to eat any food as we got there too late. We had travelled straight from our wedding for a little weekend away in Plymouth and thanks to traffic we had a 4+ hours of driving. The staff were lovely. We had turned up in our wedding stuff in a rush for they gave us some recommendations of kebabs still open, a shot on the house plus a round of drinks which we never expected. Again they were all so so lovely and was so nice to end the day here.. thank you for your kindness. We took a bottle back to our cottage and ended the night with a kebab and a burger lol.

Just finished Sunday lunch at The Waterfront with my sister; food was great, beautifully cooked and presented. Milly, who looked after us during our meal, was exceptional: professional, kind and fun to talk to! Will definitely come back if we're in the area again. Thanks, Caroline :))

Updated August 2024 - previously 5 star, now 1. This place has fallen off a cliff. Drinks made poorly, many people demanding money back for food taking over an hour. Managers shouting at waiting staff (who seemed to be annoyed waiting for food and getting it in the neck from customers) in front of customers in a wholly unprofessional manner. If it wasn't for the view I'm pretty sure this place would be going out of business now. Such a shame and such a fall from grace.

Staff were very attentive and went out of their way to help us have a lovely evening. The fish and chips with chip shop treats is amazing! Holly was so helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. The setting was lovely with the door to fresh air open and sounds of the sea air. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Had a lovely evening meal here. The fish pie was delicious with lots of fish and the vegetables (particularly the crispy Kale) were perfect. My server India was brilliant, thank you India! Overall I have to say it was a lovely evening, will come again when I’m next down for work. Oh and the views are lovely.

We are regulars and always enjoy our time here. Waterfront staff are always very friendly and kind. We love coming to have our amazing delicious hot chocolates and I always enjoy talking to the staff. Special mention must be made of Millie who always goes that extra mile to interact with us, make us laugh and generally brighten our day. We always refer people to the Waterfront and take any friends that come to visit us there. Awesome place, staff and food all round.

We arrived late but was able to get food just before 9. The food was amazing and I would highly recommend. The food just melted in your mouth.

Best breakfast we have had in a long time! Excellent service especially from Griffin and Belle. The whole team are so friendly and clearly love their jobs. Awesome playlist too!

Nice spot for a drink with lovely views, with friendly and attentive bar staff. However the roast was not up to par especially for the price. Lacked flavour and every component of it was sub standard. We did bring it to the attention of the waitress and asked to pass it on, but she replied that she will mention it later when it wasn't so busy, so Not sure if the feedback was actually given. No sure what the food is like during the week but won't be rushing back for food.

Food was nice however there was not enough gravy and the vegetarian option was not what was on the menu which I was informed of when ordering and instead it was a beetroot wellington which didn’t work with the roast and tasted similar to a chilli con carne. The staff were very friendly and helpful however we did get asked to pay mid way through eating which was uncomfortable and awkward when I had a mouthful of potato. For the high price point I would have expected stuffing, more gravy and more tasteful food and payment before or after the meal. However the staff were lovely and cannot fault them on that front.

India was absolutely amazing - such a sweety bless her !

I can't recommend The Waterfront enough. Despite living in Plymouth for many years last week was the first time we've ever been there. All the staff were friendly and provided great service, the food was fabulous and provided value for money and the views were stunning. There's absolutely no reason why you would not make a visit to The Waterfront. 10/10.

Waiting for are food order had to wait nearly a hour very slow 🐌 service

We visited for a family lunch on Sunday 21st July 2024. It is a lovely venue and great if you just want a drink with stunning view. The bar staff and table staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately our food experience was not great. Three tasteless roasts. One sold as pork belly was actually a pork chop! Thin tasteless gravy and soggy roast potatoes and veg at elevated prices. Perhaps we made the wrong choice on the day, but I won`t be rushing back for food, and won`t be recommending.

Wouldn't recommend, was our first time visiting this restaurant. Myself and the husband ordered roasts, but unfortunately my turkey was sooo dry. I asked for a fresh plate, to which the waitress gave me. But was given the incorrect plate was given pork. I waited round for the waitress to come back, thinking she would come over to check the 2nd plate was OK. But never came. To which my husband had finished his meal. My husband caught the waitress attention. She did apologise but unfortunately I had by that point was put off the food. So left feeling hungry and disappointed. So won't be returning.

Extremely disappointed with the Sunday lunch that was served to us. The potatoes had obviously been sat around for a long period of time as they were all dried up inside, my husband had the Belly pork and that was unfortunately dried out he fed it to our dog!! No Yorkshire Puddings or parsnips served as was stated on the menu. The waiter did ask if everything had been to our liking, to which I explained the outcome. He did however say he’d see what he could do, unf that was the last we saw of him. So disappointing as we had read the good reviews and were really looking forward to our meal.

There may not be a huge choice on the breakfast menu but what they do offer is cooked lovely - all elements yummy! But best of all, is always the service - today thanks to Izzy 😀

Beautiful location and interior decor. Staff very friendly and attentive when we arrived, although disappeared off the radar after 2, which was a shame. However really appreciated the awareness of mobility issues for seniors. Food was pretty good on the whole, excellent bread as a starter. Would definitely come again 👍

We had a lovely family meal here on Tuesday, with family visiting from out of town. Fantastic service given by Millie, Elliot and Ben- we loved that recommendations were given by Millie for what the meals were and her favourites! Great views, and lovely food. The fish and chips, Spanish chicken and blush sorbet were all amazing- the chefs did an incredible job with the food! We have always had a good experience here, and had no doubts to bring my family here to share it. Thank you!!

food is always average. my salad had such under ripe avocado i could barely bit into it. cakes often dry. lovely location but for the price youd expect better food

I had to return my order as they offer something very different I what order.when waiting I also notice a customer also had a wrong order that she had to return .also the waiting has been longer that it should. Very pleasant place. By the sea . Waiter very polite and acceptable .

Stopped in Plymouth on the way home from our holiday and came across this lovely restaurant looking out to the harbour. Food was lovely and our waitress Milly was super helpful and friendly.

We had a family anniversary and the food and service were exceptional Some of us had fish and chips and the fish was cooked to perfection, and the other food was equally as good! The fish pie smelt wonderful! Apart from the food, the service was also exceptional and we were very lucky to have Milly and India serving us, and nothing was too much trouble. They are also very good at taking photos!
