A great pub for nice quiet drink, a great range of ales that I couldn't do in one sitting. This is my local and I love it. The customer service is amazing. This place is dog and cat friendly, as an animal lover I'm in my element. The food is brilliant here, I recommend the cheesy chips / curries / hunter's chicken. Animals, Alcohol and Good Food. What else do you need from a good pub!

We managed to walk in and get a table - which was lucky as the pub seemed to fill up very quickly. We were served by a young lad who was exceptional, he came to the tables a couple of times to ask if we needed anything and if our food was ok. We all had the fish and chips, which i could see them battering in the kitchen. We were however shouted at by a couple of the locals as we dithered a bit at the door and they didnt like the wind coming in! But other than that it was great with good beers too.

My partner and I booked for Christmas Dinner on Friday 1st December. I have had in my time, many traditional Christmas meals out at various venues. Venues from celebrity chefs restaurants to hotels and other eateries. I can honestly say, hand on heart, that the roast turkey Christmas Dinner we had at The Borringdon Arms was the best and I mean the best that I have had out. Beautiful thick hand carved turkey, amazing pig in blanket, roast potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and so many lovely vegetables that we struggled to eat everything. I suggest that you see if there is any availability left for this wonderful Christmas feast. Well done TEAM BA.

What an absolute hidden gem this pub is. You would not know the pub was there unless you took a stroll through the village or heard of it through word of mouth. You instantly get the cosy country pub feeling when you walk in. Very friendly atmosphere and have returned a few times since our first visit. Food is exceptional! A real hearty home cooked meal which left us wanting more. You can tell a lot of thought, care, and planning goes into the meals and the specials on offer. We could not compliment the chef enough for a Tuesday meal! We were served by the bar manager, Jordan. A very friendly and welcoming person that instantly made us feel like we were a local. We were made to feel so welcome we can't wait to return again for such a well cooked meal provided by such a welcoming staff member.

Although I haven't spent a night in the Bori for 20 years, I know this place is a lovely and cheap place to stay. Other than that The Boringdon Arms (Bori) is an amazing pub. Welcoming with a very good selection of food and drink. It's why it was a local pub I visited often throughout my life. I haven't been often in the last 7 years as I've moved to a different place in Plymouth, but this pub has always has a special place for me. A lot of good people and locals come here. Great atmosphere and fun especially at the weekend. There has been a few land lords and land ladies over the years. And it's always kept it's charm. The current owners are old regulars who have put a lot of effort into keeping this pubs charm going. Lovely beer garden at the back and seating at the front in a lovely community area. Turnchapel village has a very local community sprit and is full of friendly faces that visit this pub. Highly recommended! 😊

We enjoyed a lovely roast here, late one Sunday afternoon about 3pm. The meat was a smaller portion, and that could have been due to the time we arrived for food. This mattered more to my husband. However, I was delighted with the eleventy million types of veg and quantity. Cauliflower cheese, carrots, squashed swede, cabbage, broccoli, and at least one other, I've forgotten. We ordered Yorkshire with a chicken roast, which was forgotten by the kitchen and us as I was busy eating, so there was no terrible loss. I'd definitely go back. The service was great, they came to check we were happy, food was piping hot and delicious. We ate in the garden, which had the woods to the back, birds singing and sun shining in. A garden swing was perfect to enjoy after our 7-mile walk, with a gin, of course. I would love to try their other food but will surely have another roast too.

Have been using the Boringdon Arms for quite a few years and always found the food excellent. However when taking my wife, daughter and son in law for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago I can only say that the portion size for the medium size roast was awful.I hate to think what size the small roast was. The veg for four of us was the same as people had for the two of them and the meat was minimal and only 3 small potatoes. I rarely complain about things but this has has been nagging at me for a while. We were also charged for an extra pint that we did not have.only noticed when we got home. I know the place was packed out but this is no excuse for the size of the meals served.

On a recent visit to the area, called in with friends after a long walk, had a spot of lunch and a few drinks. On arrival, greeted by a young man who I can only presume is the manager, he promptly served our drinks and found us a table and brought the drinks over, we were handed menus, I opted for the traditional homemade faggots and my partner chose the meatballs, the order was taken at the table. The food delivery was quick and it was obviously freshly made, the food was excellent! We ended up staying for a few more drinks! The manager (Jordan as we later found out) looked after us, bringing drinks over and checking on us. A really pleasant afternoon and would highly recommend a visit!

Unplanned stop at The Boringdon Arms for lunch with my husband (spontaneous lunch date). Food, staff, venue, value, customers………all wonderful. I had the spring green risotto (with a requested extra of cheese) with salad which was delicious. My husband had ham, egg, chips and mushy peas which he said is one of the best he’s ever had. Both very reasonably priced (around £9-£10). The staff were friendly and attentive. The customers (and dogs) were friendly and welcoming. We played darts. There were some lovely looking cosy booths to the rear of the pub and a great looking garden area which I assume would be wonderful in the warmer evenings. Highly recommend, we will return

Barman/owner/whoever he is was unnecessarily horrible to my dad, in which I retaliated about just because we hadn't realised the place had closed after he had just lit up a cigarette as we are not locals, even though we apologised and the place was as dead as a dodo.
