We thought it would be nice to walk over today with the children and dog to get some decorations for the tree and a coffee and a snack went to the cafe then realised card only,my partners phone had died on the way we had cash but couldn't use it,it was really annoying but carried on picking out decorations finally went to till card only!!so had to leave everything what a waste of time and surely there missing out on money makes no sense such a shame aswel because we were hoping to do that alot but don't like to support card only venues

Amazing independent garden centre offering great seasonal selections, a good quality cafe and fantastic customer service. We also found their prices and selection were noticeably lower than larger ‘chain’ type locations nearby. Well worth a journey to take a look around.

We all opted for the margarita pizza & chips. Service was excellent. Pizza was awful, very little of what you'd call cheeses & the tomato topping was a thin line of ketchup! Cafe only review. Visited the garden centre on Saturday thought we would have lunch as it just turned noon. Cafe was clean, staff were pleasant food was well presented and I had Ham, egg and chips which were very nice. However my wife had Cod, Chips & Peas the Fish was either from the previous day and had just been warmed up or it had been cooked hours before Cod is always white this fish was dark white and the batter was like a brick & burnt. Not good at all. Sorry will not be eating here again which I feel very sad about.

WHY IS OUR HARD EARNED CASH NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU!! I took my father who’s 85yrs old to Almondsbury garden centre and he wanted to treat me to a cup of tea and cake, he gave me £10 to go and purchase the treat. After placing my order I went to hand over the cash when the cafe assistant told me they don’t take cash! I asked why not and the response was “we just don’t” I said my father doesn’t have a card on him and only uses cash, I asked how would he pay for this treat? The response was “I don’t know but we don’t take cash” Unfortunately I hadn’t a means on me to pay for it so we had to leave the cafe. We then walked around the garden centre and my father chose a number of plants and peat free compost (this was the reason I took him in the first place ) we didn’t think when we got to the check out that his cash would be refused there too! The products he chose added up to £54, we couldn’t believe his cash was refused again! Unfortunately we had to leave the trolly of plants and leave. My father was embarrassed and upset so I took him to another garden centre where they were happy to take his cash. My father only deals with cash, Almondsbury Garden Centre was a favourite place of his (and mine) for my father it’s an enjoyable day out. Thats been taken away from him. Years ago when I was a fairly regular visitor to this garden centre and cafe, back then the cafe was in the main building, easy to get to, a gentle walk through the shop. We wanted a light bite lunch, but now, in order to get to the cafe, you have to walk through the "department store", outdoors through the garden centre display area, and then up a fairly steep slope to find the cafe, my friend has severe mobility issues and not knowing about the walk to the cafe, we proceeded! How fair is it to the frail and less able bodied to make them walk that distance, with no clear offer of help, like a wheelchair or buggy. Please, do not say that wheel chairs/buggies are available, you have to know they are there, and at the exit area! The entrance area gives no clearly visible signage to show that help is available! Also, there were no clearly available members of staff to seek help. Will I want to go back, to be honest no.

I was really looking forward to my halloumi skewer on Saturday lunchtime, anticipating hit, melting halloumi, chargrilled peppers and onion on a flat bread. What arrived could not have been more different. It was raw, the onion inedible and, the hallumi just really salty. It's a cooking cheese for goodness sake I should have sent it back but I suspect I wouldn't have got far and I was having a nice day out. My Mum did have a lovely cheese and pickle sarnie though, and the cups of tea were nice, so not a total disaster. And my water intake for the day was admirable after all that salt....

Our review would be 5 stars, however we made the mistake of going to the "restaurant" for lunch. The food was overpriced and only average, particularly the £8 children's sausage and chips, which was 1 tiny sausage, a handful of chips, and 3 sticks of pepper. The £9 tuna sandwich with a miniscule amount of tuna wasn't much better. If the food had been half the price we would have been satisfied, as it was we paid restaurant prices for Ikea cafe quality.

I asked if it was soft boiled with the yolk slightly runny. And was promised it was. And it was far from it. It was hard boiled which I hate and couldn't eat. The coffee was really nice. So next I went to the checkout with the plants. And the cashier told me CASH ONLY!! 😡( I had the cash to pay ) I didn't have the funds in my bank account only my overdraft to use. I almost left my goodies I spent time choosing, but I really wanted the tree I picked up. So I paid anyway, fuming knowing I would have to go straight to the bank to deposit the cash I had into my bank account to cover what I just spent. It should be against the law to refuse cash, like wth !! . So mad rn. Not sure I'll ever go back just because of that. Ridiculous!!

Usually a very good selection of plants etc. Staff seem usually helpful and knowledgable when you ask for gardening advice. They also do local delivery, which we used a lot in 2020 - really was useful! Went in spring 2024, after a long gap. There's a new cafe (up the top) - looked nice but we didn't have time to try it. Absolutely loads of stock, in terms of plants etc. Good variety of stuff, also pots, trellis, etc etc One annoyance - they only accept their own brand of gift vouchers, not the national ones.

Soup is £8.99, which is more than The Ivy charge I think, so opted for a cheese scone instead. Although the top had melted cheese on it, there was no cheese on inside, just a plain scone. No flavour whatsoever. Disappointing and wouldn't buy again. Coffee nice though. Feel sorry for staff, as they are very pleasant. It's a shame the cafe is at far end (almost) of GC, whereas before it was right by the entrance. Preferred the old cafe, their terrace and the old prices! The flavours and size of portions don't justify the prices & menu a bit old hat. Needs an update & more veggie/vegan dushes. Decor is very old hat & bland too. It's always an absolute pleasure shopping here. Staff were very helpful on the customer service desk when asking about their compost deals, and two members of staff helped me in purchasing an ex-display greenhouse. Tom helped disassemble it so helpfully, conducting himself in a very polite and friendly manner throughout. An asset to your team! Greenhouse was a great deal and very good quality. I haven't used the cafe for more than a coffee yet, but it can be quite busy, which gets very loud because it's a large open room and barista staff can seem quite stressed at times. Otherwise, 100% recommend Almondsbury garden centre and I would always choose to come here and support independent over chain stores.

Always been a higher end garden centre, worth paying a bit more for plants as it seems worth it in the end. I have bought several pieces of garden furniture and a BBQ in the last 2 years and they have been cheaper.

Came for a friends baby shower, lovely atmosphere and venue. Had a lovely day, staff were so helpful, the chardonnay is to die for and the steak was insane!

Probably the best quality, exceptional and tasty Sunday roast for miles around with the cauli-cheese a sheer delight. Be prepared to leave full up as the portions are enORmous. All this serves in a charming vintage Inn. A must for discerning and hungry foodies.

Excellent pub food. We went for Sunday lunch on the spur of the moment and were very pleased. Nice atmosphere, great food and good service. If you’re in the area, you won’t go far wrong for high quality pub grub.
