Stopped off for a beverage after a cocktail in Kikis on the promenade After a beer at the bar myself and one friend walked over to an inside table as was full outside, a woman approached us enlightening that I had spilt the top of my pint on the floor and you will need to be off the table by 5.30 my friend replied we will be gone by 5.29. I proceeded to get up to go the loo, passing the blotchy tired lady, I asked her if she could let us know when a table becomes available outside , she replied this isn't the place for the Sesh" and you'll be leaving, to my astonishment i replied I think you should keep your opinions to yourself and went to the loo, a guy raced in, went to the cubicle raced out then raced back in, now this is where i realised what this "manager was implying... I walked back to an audience of workers and my friend being wisked off ... This so called manager apparently threatened us with being put on Pub watch . They even got the guy chef to shoo us out the door... This behaviour is totally unacceptable, we hadn't had any conversation with anybody at the bar previously, so not sure where this behaviour from this tired lady had come from. Been before and never had treatment noor seen this excuse before. Hope things pick up

On our break at Weymouth we enjoyed our outside drinks with lovely weather and lovely views of the harbour. We also enjoyed drinks inside too. Atmosphere brilliant. Staff brilliant.

The attitude and incompetence of the FoH staff was astounding. Dietary requirements were ignored due to 'bank holiday busyness' making it an incredibly uncomfortable experience for the whole party. Paid by card and had cash thrown at us as a refund, excuses blaming customer, food cooked 40mins after ordering and raw in the middle, told indoor seating would be available and were left sat outside Absolutely disgusting experience and service that put a hefty dampener on an otherwise good weekend

Today my family and I visited the george, for an early evening meal. We found the staff to be really helpful and bubbly. Our server ruby was lovely to my 5 yr old son. It's a lovely old pub renovated to a modern style. The food was great freshly made on site. I think the price point is spot on for a very tasty meal. I had chefs choice burger which was cooked to my liking. My mother in law had the fresh mackerel special. She reliably informed me how delicious it was. I hope to visit the george again during our stay. I highly recommend you do too.

Food was of excellent of proportion, nicely presented and very good value for money. The bar is on the quayside you can sit inside or out would strongly recommend to visit.

Huge ploughman's and great jkt potatoes with prawns. Great staff and location. Will be back!

Awful experience , booked a table for 11 people 2 days prior we arrived on time and were shown to our seats only to be left alone for 25mins with no one even coming to a take a drinks order let alone food , One of our group even went to the bar staff after 15 mins of waiting that we were ready to order for a large group only to be told “I’ll send someone to you when I can” ?? After another 10 minutes of waiting we had all had enough and left and went next door to the Ship inn who were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help us and the service and food was excellent, I understand it was busy but what’s the point in reserving a large table 48hrs before ? Terrible service would never return to the George

A bit hot, don't get steak as it comes raw and with tendons and hard to cut.

Great food, great service and a buzzing atmosphere

Great location with view over the harbour . Ordered steak which was cooked to as requested. Our sever Ruby was very pleasant and even took a picture of us with the harbour background .

Had lunch 2 days ago with a friend. Went for the most expensive dish .. turbot and mushroom risotto. Could not find a table that wasn’t sticky and smeared or tidy. When the food arrived the turbot was tasteless , the risotto just a messy gloop and the mushrooms had to be chewed forever .. one so hard I daren’t put it in my mouth. The serving staff were young but that’s ok. They were ‘so so’ but with training and leadership could be ok I’m sure . They don’t know what they don’t know!! To me this is a ‘bucket and spade’ joint where adults are glued to their phones while their kids eat chicken nuggets then run around the place .. you get my drift. This a great location and someone with an idea could really make it something special but I guess the owner knows best who he wants to cater for to bring in the money in.I definitely won’t be going back. Why does Weymouth struggle to have a stylish , cool restaurant ?? I know … it’s because Weymouth folk don’t know what style and cool are all about. Ah well .. bring on the locals favourite ..the burgers, chips and other deep fried junk!!

Myself, husband and 7 year old daughter went to The George bar and grill. The staff were absolutely fantastic, made us feel really welcome. Our daughter is quite fuss and chose the cheesy pasta. They were really accommodating and put the pasta, cheese sauce and grated cheese in separate bowls. The manager came over and checked everything was OK for her and gave her a high five. We would highly recommend going there for food. We really couldn't fault it.

Great place with delicious food and stunning location. Quite loud and hectic during summer nights. The restrooms are a bit a let down

Monkfish in cider sauce very good and belly pork 😋. The waiter was fantastic and made the birthday celebration even better.

Ate here 2 of the 3 evenings we stayed in Weymouth. Freindly and lively place with a great selection of food and excellent service (we had the same waiter, Alfie, both times and he made us feel very welcome). We highly recommend the fish platter - I think probably the best you'll get in Weymouth, so much variety and for a good price!

We kept coming back here, the food was always good, lovely location, bright on the inside so unlike other normal pubs, you still feel you’re getting the sunny vibes! Special thankyou to Ruby who could not have done more for us. Before we could even ask for a high chair, she bought us one. We felt really looked after and she was brilliant finding a toy to keep our 10month old occupied so we could eat for 5minutes. THANKYOU Ruby and The George for making our first family holiday so perfect 🤩

2nd visit here and did not disappoint. Food is amazing, staff are so helpful and friendly. Number 1 spot in Harbourside . Definitely recommend 👌 Superb

Dry chicken and ribs, nice fries, union rings and coleslaw. Fries and coleslaw sadly covered by the ribs. Friendly staff, nice terrace with waterview.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Gorgeous food, fantastic hospitality and really good location. This is now by far our favourite place for dinner in Weymouth. 😋

Nice place by the waterfront, staff was nice. The best and biggest surprice was the Ribeye steak. WOW, so tender, and the chef hit the medium red to perfection. Best steak I have had in a very long time.

Main meal was extremely disappointing..it was cold and jacket was raw, steak was very gristly. Staff very friendly. 10%off was an insult given the overall cost.

Used the george the three days we were here...amazing staff amazing food thankyou ...who ever the owner is your staff should get a good bonus they make your pub if u dont u need a kick up the backside their 100%

Excellent meal. Steak was the best I have had in a long time. Sticky toffee pudding is so light and delicious. Service very organised and efficient with a smile.

Stopped off for a couple of beers and a portion of chips. The chips arrived at my table outside within literally 5mins, even though the place was heaving with people. Was a nice place to sit and just chill for a while. Very friendly and super efficient staff. Will return for sure one day.

Nice grub, the only suggestion I'd of said if any would be the olives, it was quite expensive considering there was like 6 olives but that's it

First time visiting here and it won't be the last. I thought the food was delicious, especially the chicken tacos which i had and all served by very welcoming staff. All that whilst having views of the harbour made for a very pleasant experience.

Fabulous view of the harbour didn't eat here but the food looked lovely. Friendly staff and kept clean. Only criticism half the beers and ciders on offer where out of stock which for a pub in its prime position is very poor. Ok the weather the weekend before was the best this year but a pub with no beer is like a car with no wheels.

Super friendly staff, stunning fish and chips and a great atmosphere! Pitty we was only in Weymouth for the day because it would fast become a regular food haunt. Prices are fairly good too! I'll definitely be calling in again if I'm down this way again.

Excellent, the staff are just wonderful, we were made very welcome by a lovely lady who just oozes customer service skills...food was fantastic ..we had the fish with veg and new potatoes, hubby had pork belly...both dishes were fabulous.

The fishmonger pie I had was tasty but It was quite dry. Otherwise the service was very good and the staff were very friendly. They also served us some food even though the kitchen was closing which was very nice of them.

Lovely experience at this place. We went in March 2024 and the food was excellent, the table was great with a harbour view and it's a really chilled place to be. Most outstanding however was the service, Deni, our waitress was incredibly thoughtful and nothing was too much trouble. Overall fantastic place.

One of the best meals we had recently. Everything fresh and tasted amazing. Can recommend the baked cod and the belly pork. Delicious. Very friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere on the harbour Quay side made it.

Food was fabulous but all I can say is check your drinks price's we were overcharged 3 out of 4 drinks. we complained and were told the tills pick up different price's ie:new year price's!!! Its now march!!! We were given £10.50 back but tbh i don't think we check the price's of our drinks and they charge us what they want!!!!!!!!so pay every time you purchase a drink and don't get a tab because we're all being wripped off 😩

Exemplary service, incredible food and amazing atmosphere. Really reasonable prices and great portions. We went with a 10 year old and an 8 week old. Both were accommodated with no fuss. I was able to breastfeed at the table with no issues and it's dog friendly. A warm and clean environment with a great view of the harbour. The menu has great choice including smaller meals and fresh sea food. All the staff were refreshingly cheerful and an asset to the business. We shall be returning.

Well, how can you say a thousand words about one place that prides its self on being one the best? Well, on our visit to Weymouth yesterday 10/02/24, We surely were given a warm greeting from the staff at the George Bar & Grill. As a chef myself, the first impressions are always the lasting ones and that really didnt disappoint. Both myself and my partner were quickly seated and the fun really began! We were approached by one of the many waitresses who quickly took our order...Oh how i couldn't decide what i wanted to order first? Main or Starter first?? lol lol. However, the wife quickly made her choices...hmmm. So the waitress asked if i needed more time!! With a cheeky grin i had to say yes, knowing that the Sirloin beef was already going to get my vote lol. It was long at all, before our starters were being served. First, "The Garlic Cheesy Bread" Crusty Bread? ........Outstanding, Tasty & definitely the fresh bread was on point!! My partner ordered Pate & Chutney as a starter, which we can say was also on point, freshly served and the pate at the right temperature. Now.... The Mains. I ordered Sirloin Beef and i was politley informed that the Dauphinoise potato's weren't available and i chose to have the french fries in any case. Chef's....You did it right!! The Sirloin steak was cooked right as i ordered it "Medium" and the pepper really gave it the extra taste i like when having steak. Again Outstanding and we have no complaints at all!! A message for the land lady and for the whole team!! You as a whole team should be so proud in how you manage "The George Bar & Grill" and that you go that extra mile to really make every experience special for all of your customers. One other thing.....The names of all the RNLI Crew around the pub is an absolute tribute to those who have given their time to rescue others in distress. Well done, that for me was heart felt and we will be back!! 😂😍 Drew & Sarah

Our waitress Jenna was extremely accommodating, she went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed even down to a milk refill for the baby. She was informative and very friendly. We hope to see her again when we go back!
