Went there for lunch and me and my friend decided on the king prawns with lime and chilli with chips and garlic bread for £18 . They were busy but it arrived about 45 min Later , the presentation was amazing , however the sauce was very very oily and tasteless .. the whole thing had no flavour , we were very disappointed. The chips were fab and so was the garlic bread . It was such a shame . Also we had no napkins or wet wipes given to us , so it was a messy eat , don’t know if I’d return and Im A local x

We shared a meal for two here,the food was great and staff were friendly. The pub itself has lots of seating inside and outside and a great view of the harbour itself. We chose to sit inside and enjoy the view from the window seats.

We dined here as a group of four adults and three dogs. The Sunday lunches were delicious, the wine well chilled and the service outstanding.

Can't fault the service or the food. Just eaten the ribs and burger, dining with friend. Generous portions, tasty food. Will be back if we can, as visitors to Weymouth

Appalling service from young staff. Was seated at the only table for two left. After 15 minutes, no one had taken a drink or food order. Went to the bar to order drinks and ask if it was table service? The young girl apologised and said that someone should have come and taken our order. Watched over the course of the evening where most tables went to the bar to get their own drinks. Several young staff with no customer service experience messing around with one in particular who just went from one end of the bar to the other laughing and joking and not giving a damn about customers needs. Shocking behaviour. The food was decent but let down by exceptionally poor service. Won't be visiting again!!

The best roast every time. Really delicious & served hot. Service was excellent and lovely dessert too. Highly recommend.

View of the port, this restaurant is not extraordinary but the staff is welcoming. Please note that service is at the bar. A good fish and chips but the meat of the hamburger ordered leaves something to be desired

We popped in to this nice harbour side pub for a drink & food. The staff are extremely approachable, friendly & happy. It was very busy but the staff were still attentive & the orders came in no time. The food was presented well & was hot. The pub was clean & the atmosphere was good. All in all a very nice place.

Great pub, nice ambiance, fantastic service, can not fault the staff, it was busy but they were on form, so quick with the service. Food was great.. we visited twice whilst on our break, would recommend.. most definitely.

The waiter recommended the fish n chips and we also had burger. The food came fast, and the staff was attentive and smiling. But both the burger and the bun was dry and the fish was soggy.

Good location on the Queyside with plenty of outdoor seating. Good range of beers and wines. Drinks were expensive but good service. We only had drinks so can't comment on the food.

Decided to eat here this year as we usually only have a drink outside on our yearly visit to Weymouth. Very dissappointing. Waited 50 minutes for egg and beans on toast, 2 x avacado and egg on toast and a traditional english breakfast. Nothing to tricky, and it was suprisingly not busy at all on the food front. After a long wait we approached a member of staff and they informed us they had a egg dilema??? and recooking. When we eventually received our breakfast course the traditional breakfast had no toast and no egg. This was then requested and the toast did eventually arrive. When finished, the lady said I know you are still waiting on your egg, do you still want it? Of course we declined. They went on to charge us full price with no apology. Customer service and satisfaction certainly can be improved here...

Stopped off for a beverage after a cocktail in Kikis on the promenade After a beer at the bar myself and one friend walked over to an inside table as was full outside, a woman approached us enlightening that I had spilt the top of my pint on the floor and you will need to be off the table by 5.30 my friend replied we will be gone by 5.29. I proceeded to get up to go the loo, passing the blotchy tired lady, I asked her if she could let us know when a table becomes available outside , she replied this isn't the place for the Sesh" and you'll be leaving, to my astonishment i replied I think you should keep your opinions to yourself and went to the loo, a guy raced in, went to the cubicle raced out then raced back in, now this is where i realised what this "manager was implying... I walked back to an audience of workers and my friend being wisked off ... This so called manager apparently threatened us with being put on Pub watch . They even got the guy chef to shoo us out the door... This behaviour is totally unacceptable, we hadn't had any conversation with anybody at the bar previously, so not sure where this behaviour from this tired lady had come from. Been before and never had treatment noor seen this excuse before. Hope things pick up

On our break at Weymouth we enjoyed our outside drinks with lovely weather and lovely views of the harbour. We also enjoyed drinks inside too. Atmosphere brilliant. Staff brilliant.

Fabulous food brilliant staff very efficient

The attitude and incompetence of the FoH staff was astounding. Dietary requirements were ignored due to 'bank holiday busyness' making it an incredibly uncomfortable experience for the whole party. Paid by card and had cash thrown at us as a refund, excuses blaming customer, food cooked 40mins after ordering and raw in the middle, told indoor seating would be available and were left sat outside Absolutely disgusting experience and service that put a hefty dampener on an otherwise good weekend

Today my family and I visited the george, for an early evening meal. We found the staff to be really helpful and bubbly. Our server ruby was lovely to my 5 yr old son. It's a lovely old pub renovated to a modern style. The food was great freshly made on site. I think the price point is spot on for a very tasty meal. I had chefs choice burger which was cooked to my liking. My mother in law had the fresh mackerel special. She reliably informed me how delicious it was. I hope to visit the george again during our stay. I highly recommend you do too.

Food was of excellent of proportion, nicely presented and very good value for money. The bar is on the quayside you can sit inside or out would strongly recommend to visit.

Quay side spot is absolutely beautiful. The food is delicious with ample portion sizes. The staff are helpful and hard working despite being very busy we were never waiting long. The kids menu is really good as well. The menu appears to have been updated since I was last there and the food is absolutely delicious.

We visited the George yesterday Evening , Alfie went above and beyond for us and nothing was too much to ask for. Service was 5 star along with the food, we will be returning!

Great meal for all 5 of us. Staff were all excellent. Couldn't do enough for us even though they were very busy. The chef even cooked fresh broccoli for my granddaughter who didn't want the peas which were part of the dish from the child's menu. Can't wait to go back and have some more of the delicious squid. The tastiest we've had in this country!

From walking in off the street with 14 of us, a mix of 7 adults and 7 kids, in a busy place, this place managed to put some tables together. The service by Gemma was by far the best. She entertained the kids. She put kids first when ordering. So they wasn't sat bored while adults was deciding. We was sat by the kitchen and the chef was absolutely amazing with talking to kids, they was Introduced to the different staff members. Rang the bell for service. Ect. The food.... we all had a different meals that not one person had any complaint with. Even the fussiest of kids ate the whole lot! The kids chicken has great flavour to it, not just plain chicken nuggets. The mint lamb burger was absolutely delicious. The slaw was bursting with flavour. And they all sang happy birthday to me with the best choc cake ever. This is definitely a go to place every time I come to Weymouth. Infact I would travel the 2 hrs in a day just for that lovely meal. Well done to the kitchen staff and Gemma. And thank you for making my birthday that bit more special.

Stopped here for lunch and had a great lunch. Family of four and we all had a different meal. All of the meals were delicious and good sizes. All the staff were friendly and approachable.

A bit hot, don't get steak as it comes raw and with tendons and hard to cut.

Awful experience , booked a table for 11 people 2 days prior we arrived on time and were shown to our seats only to be left alone for 25mins with no one even coming to a take a drinks order let alone food , One of our group even went to the bar staff after 15 mins of waiting that we were ready to order for a large group only to be told “I’ll send someone to you when I can” ?? After another 10 minutes of waiting we had all had enough and left and went next door to the Ship inn who were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help us and the service and food was excellent, I understand it was busy but what’s the point in reserving a large table 48hrs before ? Terrible service would never return to the George

Great place with delicious food and stunning location. Quite loud and hectic during summer nights. The restrooms are a bit a let down

Had lunch 2 days ago with a friend. Went for the most expensive dish .. turbot and mushroom risotto. Could not find a table that wasn’t sticky and smeared or tidy. When the food arrived the turbot was tasteless , the risotto just a messy gloop and the mushrooms had to be chewed forever .. one so hard I daren’t put it in my mouth. The serving staff were young but that’s ok. They were ‘so so’ but with training and leadership could be ok I’m sure . They don’t know what they don’t know!! To me this is a ‘bucket and spade’ joint where adults are glued to their phones while their kids eat chicken nuggets then run around the place .. you get my drift. This a great location and someone with an idea could really make it something special but I guess the owner knows best who he wants to cater for to bring in the money in.I definitely won’t be going back. Why does Weymouth struggle to have a stylish , cool restaurant ?? I know … it’s because Weymouth folk don’t know what style and cool are all about. Ah well .. bring on the locals favourite ..the burgers, chips and other deep fried junk!!

Myself, husband and 7 year old daughter went to The George bar and grill. The staff were absolutely fantastic, made us feel really welcome. Our daughter is quite fuss and chose the cheesy pasta. They were really accommodating and put the pasta, cheese sauce and grated cheese in separate bowls. The manager came over and checked everything was OK for her and gave her a high five. We would highly recommend going there for food. We really couldn't fault it.

Monkfish in cider sauce very good and belly pork 😋. The waiter was fantastic and made the birthday celebration even better.

Ate here 2 of the 3 evenings we stayed in Weymouth. Freindly and lively place with a great selection of food and excellent service (we had the same waiter, Alfie, both times and he made us feel very welcome). We highly recommend the fish platter - I think probably the best you'll get in Weymouth, so much variety and for a good price!

We kept coming back here, the food was always good, lovely location, bright on the inside so unlike other normal pubs, you still feel you’re getting the sunny vibes! Special thankyou to Ruby who could not have done more for us. Before we could even ask for a high chair, she bought us one. We felt really looked after and she was brilliant finding a toy to keep our 10month old occupied so we could eat for 5minutes. THANKYOU Ruby and The George for making our first family holiday so perfect 🤩

Nice place by the waterfront, staff was nice. The best and biggest surprice was the Ribeye steak. WOW, so tender, and the chef hit the medium red to perfection. Best steak I have had in a very long time.

Had drinks here at lunchtime on Saturday during the Wessex Folk Festival.

Excellent meal. Steak was the best I have had in a long time. Sticky toffee pudding is so light and delicious. Service very organised and efficient with a smile.

Stopped off for a couple of beers and a portion of chips. The chips arrived at my table outside within literally 5mins, even though the place was heaving with people. Was a nice place to sit and just chill for a while. Very friendly and super efficient staff. Will return for sure one day.

Nice grub, the only suggestion I'd of said if any would be the olives, it was quite expensive considering there was like 6 olives but that's it
