Well we are back for Round 3 of awesomeness. We came here this time for me mums 59th Birthday. As always it was a pleasure to see Craig, the gaffer here. He welcomed us with a friendly smile and greeting as usual. We were sat by the window this time overlooking Weymouth. We had our food and drinks as per usual. Me mom and nan had a steak and i had a burger and chips with garlic bread. And nothing has changed from last time. The food, like before, was absolutely utterly amazing!!! You cant fault it. Anyone who says its not is lying! Craig always came over every now and then to ask if all was good and always gave us a laugh too. All in all we had a wonderful experience. The staff were great and the food was perfect. The only little niggle i will mention is that there were some pesky flies buzzing round us and wouldnt leave us alone. Kept landing on us and trying to get at the food. So maybe a regular looksie every now and then when you can to keep the pests at bay. Not blaming anyone for that though its nature isnt it. The weathers hot and its summer. Theres gonna be the odd fly here and there. Other than that the whole afternoon here was wonderful and am looking forward to our next visit. I heard there may be word of popping up at some point again this year but not sure. Will have to see if we can book up for Xmas or something if poss. If not then we will certainly be up here again in March for my 32nd. Cheers guys and gals!

Fantastic place to go for food. Really lovely and welcoming staff and we even met the chef which is always a good touch. We opted for Lamb kofta and it was absolutely superb ( Chef is Greek) lots on the menu if you don't fancy that and on Mondays and Tuesdays the cask ales are half price. Lovely location overlooking the harbour, outside space for drinks and eating too. Plenty of parking and you have Nothe Gardens and Nothe Fort nearby. Will definitely be coming back, luckily we live here so we can.

Just enjoyed a lovely meal in there with my mum. She had sausage and mash which she loved and I had dirty fries with chicken wings and a buffalo sauce which was delicious. We followed with a crumble and custard and a banoffee gateaux both of which were fantastic. My Guinness was excellent too. The service was spot-on, the pub was spotless and smart, and the staff were friendly, especially the landlord. The pudding was so good that i forgot to take a picture of them, I do have a picture of what was left after we finished! believe me they were great! The Nothe Tavern sits on an elevated vista in Nothe Park overlooking the Weymouth harbour. After our walk we decided to have a meal and a drink as it was a sunny evening. We were quite late to eat but although they were very busy with food orders, landlord and landlady Kelly & Craig were very accommodating and made sure to accept our order. Craig recommended the greek chicken SOUVLAKI. My partner ordered the squid and whitebait. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. Although busy, the food came out in a very acceptable time. The portions were very generous and the presentation wet our appetite. I can tell you now that the Souvlaki was amazing. perfectly cooked and accompanied with fresh crisp salad and skin on fries. My partner really enjoyed the "bare"whitebait and really tasty squid. I know the pub has gone through some "ups & downs" but I can say that the food, wine and friendliness warrants an 100% for us. Will highly recommend a visit

We’d walked along the harbour intending to visit the fort which sadly wasn’t open - our return path took us along the top, passed the play area and soon we found the Nothe Tavern. We received a warm welcome and decided a meal might be too heavy for a walk so decided to share some starters to fuel the 2nd half back down into town. We enjoyed our ‘picky’ lunch, finished our drinks and then spent a few minutes in the peaceful memorial garden next door before continuing on our way. Friendly staff, nice views, decent toilets and a selection of games etc available for bored children 5***** imo

My family and I had the pleasure of visiting The Nothe Tavern today, and it was an experience worth cherishing. Despite arriving early for our booking, the staff welcomed us with open arms and radiant smiles, instantly putting us at ease. Their genuine warmth made the wait enjoyable as we savored the anticipation of what was to come. The menu offered a delightful array of options, catering to various tastes. While my wife and I indulged in the delectable lamb kofta, bursting with flavor and perfectly seasoned, our son thoroughly enjoyed his classic chicken nuggets and chips, cooked to crispy perfection. What truly set our experience apart was the impeccable service provided by the staff, who not only attended to our needs with efficiency but also engaged us in delightful conversation throughout our visit. In particular, the gentleman at the bar exuded charm and hospitality, enhancing our dining experience tenfold. Our time at The Nothe Tavern was nothing short of delightful. From the warm welcome to the sumptuous fare and engaging service, every aspect of our visit exceeded expectations. A lovely couple running a quiet dog friendly pub selling great tasting food at a very reasonable price. The BBQ pulled pork burger was very filling with plenty of pulled pork, but what I like best about it was that it came out hot, unlike do many other places. My partner had the chicken and leek pie. We are local, met friends for dinner at the nothe..ordered our food from a very limited menu, had to wait over 45 minutes for food to arrive..one couple asked for the steak, we were told it was rear to medium dish with salad and chips. Our friends ordered chicken best salad, the other white bate salad and chips...All chips on every plate was way over cooked, almost burnt, Whitegate was battered and over cooked, checking breast was dry and over cooked, the two steaks, one was red full of blood the other just over the blood but the meat was way over grain and unbeatable..This pub years ago was renowned for its food and carvery..we left hungry , sent the food back to kitchen and got a take away to go home too eat..sadly bank holiday weekend only two tables in whole restaurant booked, the rest was empty...I guess the owners really need to take a look

Booked a table for first night of our Holiday, should have known when we were the only people eating it wasn't a good sign. Two other tables came in (Friday night by the way in August!) Frozen food, poor quality, Steak was disgusting and inedible. Chicken wings had feathers on and not marinated just plain with a sauce. Desserts all frozen so we didn't bother as looked very uninspiring on next door table.
