The pizza was really nice, if you don't mind eating out of a cardboard box with no cutlery! Not quite what we were expecting but delicious pizza and very generous size. Beer reasonably priced. Pub very convenient for our Airbnb two doors away! Nice lively atmosphere on a Friday night.

Great, old, local pub with a good selection of drinks. Serves delicious pizza and is a lovely sun trap for a few late evening drinks in the summer. Also does a brilliant quiz every other Wednesday evening 👍

Proper traditional local, only does pizzas (Wed-Sun) but they are the best in the area (I have tried all the others). Regular music nights and Quiz night alternate Wednesdays. Where the majority of the locals drink and very welcoming. Check Facebook for music dates and up to date information. This is an honest review by me, a regular customer.

Great pub quiz tonight, friendly atmosphere, jovial banter and good natured quiz. Table of 6 friends, good beer and lots of laughter. Will definitely come again to the next one on the 9th July.

Held a 60th birthday party, the venue agreed to a band and hosted an absolutely brilliant surprise party. So much attention to detail given. They were so helpful, hospitable and gave us a night to remember. Thank you Anna & Co

We were invited by our son who was staying in the area, to join him on Wednesday evening for quiz and pizza at The George. We had a great evening and found everyone very friendly. The pizza in the break was absolutely delicious . Would highly recommend looking out for quiz events if you are in the area.

Nice little pub, very friendly staff. Ideal for before the football(word of warning it's a steep climb to the ground). Landlord opened early for us because of early kick off and was spot on👍. Lovely views across the valley.

Brilliant village pub. Visited before the football, They opened early at 10am as the kick off was one. All staff really friendly. Would definitely recommend the place.

Came to Nailsworth for the football but decided to book an Airbnb and make a weekend of it. Popped in here for a pint and pizza in the evening and had a lovely time. Pizza was great, people were friendly. We’d definitely pop back in if we were in the area again :-)

What was turning out to be a wasted journey after football was cancelled turned out to be a blessing in finding this beautiful little pub full of character. The lady that hosted us was a pleasure and even become our photographer. So easy to get comfortable here and looking forward to coming back in a week or so. Oh and Linzie might of mentioned it will be on her birthday lol. Top place 🍺👍🍺

Nice place serving several beers and ciders, be careful though it closes before the announced times. The service is friendly.

What a gorgeous place, the lovely lady could not have done enough for us when we turned up on Saturday just after opening. She put the ovens on early for some perfect pizzas, watered us and made sure all of us (including a very inquisitive and clumsy toddler) had a good time. We left in a lot better state than we arrived!

Came for a match against Forest Green had a great time at The George even though the lady running the place alone she did everything she could to make us Rowdy Scunthorpe away fans feel welcome.

Great pub, arrived on pizza night. Honestly the best pizzas we've had in a very long time! Gorgeous! Chose to pick our own toppings, they were not short on the garlic! Yum! Great choice of real ales too.

Suggested online the George Inn a good place for food, drink & car parking when attending football, FGR v Walsall. George Inn easy to find. Street parking opposite the pub. Warm welcome. I attended with my brother. Only pizza available. Chose the local beer (Urey bitter), a good pint. We shared a 8 & 12 inch pizza. Excellent, highly recommended. Awful weather so match was in doubt, waited until 2pm, confirmed match would take place. A 20 minute walk to stadium ( if that’s the correct description for The New Lawn). Be warned, uphill all the way.

Went to watch Tranmere Rovers at Forest Green today .We got there in time to find a pub. We came across the George. We were made very welcome by the manageress who found time to chat and Thank us for visiting her establishment. Didnt have time for food and just had drinks. The selection of lagers and draught ales were great. The pub was clean and was covid friendly with a screen between you and the bar person. Wish we could have stayed longer as it was a very pleasant pub .

What an amazing experience we had on our first outing to our local since we moved here. We was greeted by the lovely Duty manager Anna 😀 . She made us feel so warm and welcome one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had she gave us blankets to keep us warm and even shamrocked my first Guinness out with a heart very sweet indeed. We will be definitely going back again !

my 15 year old son tried to order a coke at the bar while we talked with some friends, but was told "children are not legally allowed to order drinks in premises serving alcohol" and was pointed to a sign forbidding children. i was shocked and this is not something I've ever experienced before, it would put me off returning!!!!

Not sure how a pub is family friendly with signs like this at the bar, service has gotten worse since the last bar manager was fired and most normal locals (i.e. not the "local celebrities") agree. Recent live music night wasn't great quality and pub was mostly empty, minus a group celebrating Brexit loudly and waving England flags around half the night (if that's your thing).

We stopped for lunch, which was a couple of ploughman's meals. Some of the items were however not as fresh as we would have liked, and food seemed to be a bit of a sideline at the pub. We were grateful however to find the pub on the edge of Nailsworth.

A bit off the beaten path but well worth the effort - a lovely atmosphere the second you open the door, a proper country pub with a friendly, happy crowd. Great beer - they clearly know their stuff - and great food too. All in all an absolute gem of a place which we’ll be regulars at now we’ve discovered it!

I came down the hill to this authentic pub on a hillside in Nailsworth. The small pub was relatively well filled with lunch guests and I was told it would take 15 minutes to get my cajun chicken. Maybe it took 20-25 minutes, but the CAMRA beers were really nice so it was no problem to wait. Nigel is the chef at St George Inn and later in the evening it turned out that Nigel had bought two puppies from my B&B hosts :) Around 2 I made my way to the ground by following the path through the woods. Another great experience.

Mountain biking friends met and road from here, back for beer and food. Everyone was really impressed with how friendly the pub was and the quality of the good. Will definitely be back as soon as possible.

My partner and I came here for Sunday lunch, the food was beautiful and authentic, lovely local meat, handmade yorkshires, perfectly cooked vedge, especially the cauliflower cheese. The portions were generous, the environment friendly and homely, service attentive but not intrusive. The chef nigel came and chatted with us after, what a lovely welcoming place to spend a Sunday afternoon! We shall definitely be back! Thank you!

We had a 5* meal created by Nigel himself, the chef came out to greet us at the end. Lovely pub with tip top hosting and a super tasty meal. Fantastic gin and good recommendations re food/fluids! The locals were a little ‘rowdy’ but it only added to the entertainment of the evening. We shall be back should we return to the area!

Staying locally for badminton horse trials and stumbled upon this place. Had amazing food and brilliant service, a really friendly little pub! With proper pub food!

Just stopped off for lunch with our daughter. Worse fish and chips we have ever had. Frozen fish if you can call it that, which was frozen shaped and supposed to be fish, fresh fish should be all sorts of shapes. Have had 100% better at our local fish shop. Will definitely not be visiting here again. To say we were dissatisfied is an understatement after reading the reviews. If you haven’t got fresh fish, you should tell the customer so they can choose something else.

Delicious Sunday lunch with good choice of meats veggie option plenty of lovely vegetables and jugs of good gravy. Great atmosphere good choice of wines and beers and great staff. Most enjoyable.

Donde una simple disculpa hubiera sido suficiente, fuimos sometidos a ser reprendidos por una opinión culinaria. Lo que podría haber sido potencialmente una comida agradable, ligeramente contaminada por un problema menor, pero extraño, con la comida, se convirtió en la discusión más incómoda y confrontativa con el personal. Esto fue muy innecesario y nos dejó con un sabor amargo.

When you enter you might see a few locals having a chat then you’ll order a nice beer, consider whether to stay for dinner and soak up the Cotswold stone interior before staying all evening. Can’t go wrong.

Friendly welcome on arrival and no problem when we requested a different table for our meal. Service could not have been better and we did not feel hurried when one of our party took a long time over the main course. Choice of food was varied with gluten free and good vegetarian options. Only thing which could have been better for us is the menu posted online, as pictures on the website indicated other options, such as steak, which were not on that nights menu. Overall a lovely meal out in a great little pub!

We just stumbled, quite literally really, across the George on a walk from Uley, through the valleys. Brilliant! A great welcome for three thirsty chaps and two dogs (the latter of whom were offered water and treats); three superb ales all in perfect condition; and an excellent lunch (we were there on a Sunday - lovely to have a choice of things other than the Ubiquitous Roast, though I had the Ubiquitous Roast and it was brilliant). Bravo and thank you folks.

After quite a few changes recently, as of now (Sept 18), there's a new kitchen opened, independently run by two locals, Nigel and Alaistair. We had a meal there last Saturday and it was really great, it's reasonable and there are plenty of veggie and GF options. This is a really cool village pub that forms the centre of a lively community, well woth a look in.
